Customer placed an order on 4/14 with shipping to Puerto Rico. Unfortunately the item he purchased was not able to be shipped to Puerto Rico so the order was canceled and complete refund issued on 4/16.
We try our best to accommodate customers in Canada, UK, and other places such as Puerto Rico and our friend in the Military (APO/FPO). Customers like this guy make it difficult for us to continue to serve these areas that require extra paper work and fulfillment on our end. |

Worst internet experience ever. Always make sure a company lists their phone number on their website. Call that number to make sure there's a person on the other end.
First shipment was shipped to Tennessee instead of Michigan! That's despite me emailing them the day the shipping notice was first sent out. 1 month and 10 days later, I finally have my entire order.
Horrid customer service response (or should I say LACK of response)
You're better off going to FrozenCPU or CrazyPC!

The Case Fan on my desktop died and I was looking for a replacement. Unfortunately I did not do any research before buying from Case-Mod. I placed my order some time Wednesday afternoon. I selected Priority Mail(2-3 days) as my delivery option. I received the confirmation email a short while later, but that was it. For a company that prides itself on shipping all orders within 48 hours, I find it odd that as of Monday 2/4 my order had not shipped. well I assume that it hadn't shipped because I haven't heard anything back since that time. After reading about the company, on here, and other places, I sent an email asking for some confirmation, and stating that "IF my order has been shipped, please provide me with the tracking information, IF my order has not shipped yet, please cancel it." Several hours later I received an email saying that my order has been canceled. Whether this actually means that it didn't ship, or if I will have to deal with sending the merchandise back, I dont know. All I can say, is don't waste your time or energy with this company. Even if you think you are getting a deal, it isn't worth the hassles, look elsewhere.

Customer's order was ready to ship on third business day, Monday 2/4. He emailed stating, "IF my order has been shipped, please provide me with the tracking information, IF my order has not shipped yet, please cancel it." So we had the order canceled and a full refund issued immediately as requested. |

I would just like to tell everyone not to buy from this company. Case-Mod.com has the most horrible customer service i have very experienced. I ordered a Logitech G7 gaming mouse on Friday January 4, 2008 and the money was taken out right away from my account, so in this case my order should be processed but it wasnt so i waited till next week on tuesday the 8th and my order was still pending, and they emailed me saying it should be shipped on monday the 7th. so i tried to email them several times with no response. then on thursday i emailed them to cancel my order and refund my money then i got an email saying that the logitech G7 mouse was going to arrive in their warehouse the next day which was Friday.... This whole time they didnt even have the product in stock and nowhere on their website did it state that and i even emailed them asking if it was in stock. they never replied. but i did get my money back i just wish i have never bought it from here or i would have had that mouse by now from another company. You have been warned!!

This website is terrible. I order 1 mouse on Sunday 1/6/08. It is now Thursday 1/10/08 and still no response from the 2 emails I sent them. I am learning that the cheapest price isn't always best, instead stick with reliable websites like NEWEGG.COM or TIGERDIRECT.COM. They might not be the cheapest, but the ship their products fast and keep their customers updated on their orders. Something this website does not know how to do.
Update: 10/12/08 I got an email saying the item was discontinued and my money was being refunded. What a waste of time, I looked at there website yesterday and it was still selling the item. This website dropped the ball here, when I have a good experience with a reseller, I return to them for other business needs. This company lost a lot of money and will continue to do so until it takes care of its customers! This review was modified by its author, Iceman786, on

The first warning about this company is that THEY DO NOT PROVIDE A CONTACT PHONE NUMBER. If you call the number on the credit card statement, no one answers. This is a prime trait of a company dealing in illegal practices. What are they afraid to hide? Can you name any one retail store on the up and up that you cannot call? What are they afraid of hiding? Did all their stock, "Fall off the truck"? Do they not speak English? Are they laundering money for organized crime or something?
In the course of my order this company has not answered a single email from me. Not one. There has only been one automated update on the site telling me my order would be shipped a faster rate, but no updates as to where my order is, if the item is even in stock anymore, what's going on. Nothing. No updates, no contact, no order received.
Be extremely wary ordering from this company. No phone number is provided. Their practices smack more of a retail looking to rip off the customer than to serve them.
Update as of 1/7/08: As of this moment Case-mod has finally done something regarding my case. They have sent me a tracking number and have sent the package with next-day FedEx as their automated email said they would. My order status has now changed to shipped. The email I received is still an automated one and I have yet to receive an email from a human being replying to my emails. I will update the review further upon the receipt of equipment.
Update - 1/8/08 - The product arrived. Rather than placing the item in a larger box for shipping and sending it the seller simply slapped a label on the manufacturer's box and sent it out the door. Luckily, the original box does appear to be packaged and meant for shipping. However when I open it I find that I have been sent the wrong item! The item I ordered comes in black and silver. It clearly shows in my order that I ordered the silver, but I was instead sent the black instead. I doubt this will ever be resolved and I suppose I will simply live with the black, even though it won't really match my case anymore.
A final note. It's very sad this order went this way. The seller could have made good on this order though simple communication. Non-communication have made this company one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. With service like this, Case-mod doesn't deserve to be in business, their staff is unfit to work, and at this rate will be populating the lines at soup kitchens before long. I ordered a Cooler Master RS-A00-EMBA 1000 Watt Power Suppy because they have it on special price of $199.99 on October 12, 2007. Then on October 14, I got an email from them saying that the product is no longer available for that price and they offered other power supplies instead. Sounds like bait and switch to me. I mean if it's no longer available for that price, why was it still on the special page and I was able to order it. So I told them to cancel my order. I then check my balance on my card and found out that my card has been charged already October 12 same day I ordered. If they were not going to honor the price, why was I charged in the first place? It took them 2 days to say that the product is not available for that price but I was charged instantly. It's October 16, I just got an email from them that my status of my order has been refunded. That's two days after I told them to cancel my order. I don't know when they're really going to refund my money back which shouldn't have been charged in the first place.
Stay away from this site.

Customer placed order at 11pm on Friday night. We discovered the item had sold out and emailed him on Sunday morning at 11am and offered him two similar products from the same series which were also on clearance.
After we didn't receive an email response, we promptly issued a full refund for the purchase.
Hey, sometimes an item sells out and there is not much we can do except communicate as quickly as possible with the customer, which we did in this case. |

It has been 3 weeks today since I placed an order for a computer case and for buying the case there was a special on a 1000W power supply so I ordered that because it was way cheaper than other stores were asking. The case was slightly cheaper than other stores, but I decided to buy from Case-Mod because they were the only company I found that had it in stock. As I said before, I placed my order on the 7th of September. On the 8th, I received an email that said my order had been updated. I checked and the order said it had shipped and even gave me a tracking number so I could keep an eye on it. It was scheduled for delivery on the 14th. Still a while to wait, but oh well it was only a week away. So I waited my week and friday the 14th came and I am excited to start putting my new computer together as soon as my case and PSU get there. Then before FedEx drops off, I get another update from Case-mod. It turns out that My order was not all showing up. Here is the quote. "The comments for your order are:
Hello Tyler,
The Tt case will be shipping on 9/20. Sorry for the late notification. The PSU is already on its way to you as of 9/8" They waited until the day my case was supposed to show up to tell me it was not even in stock. I was not happy, so I sent them an email to try to get them to overnight it to me when they did ship it out. Their quote, "Hello TY,
We would not be able to offer an express upgrade on the case. What we can do is adjust the shipping charges and refund a portion of the shipping fees due to the delay. Let us know." That is fine, and very quick response. The next morning (the 17th)I sent another email asking what I needed to do to have it overnighted. I had not heard from them when Wed. (the 19th)showed up so I sent another saying my case was scheduled to ship out the next day and I really needed to know what I could do to have it shipped out overnight. I did get a response the same day. They said they were looking into it and they would get back to me as soon as they had more information. I did not hear back from them on the 20th when they said it would ship out. I sent emails on the 20th, 24th, and 25th asking for an update and had no reply until the 26th. They sent me an email saying that it had shipped out that morning. (Six days after the day they said it would ship.) That morning after I got the email I checked my order status and there is no update on it and no tracking number. I sent an email asking for a tracking number on the 26th and again today the 28th and have still not received either an update or a tracking number. I have no idea if it is really on the way or if they are just telling me that it shipped so I won't cancel the order. I'm at the end of my rope here. I have tried to call the number listed on their website and the one listed on resellerratings and I get a mailbox that says that nobody is there and it hangs up on me. It was not even a voicemail box. Is this how a business is supposed to operate? Very Dissatisfied.

We're sorry for the perceived lack of communication. We promptly emailed this customer twice after his order was placed regarding the backorder status of his power supply. Unfortunately the cox.net filter rejected our emails. Automated email confirmations were also sent to his hotmail account. We also left a note in his account on our website, but it seems he completed the checkout process without creating an account.
Unfortunately there is not much we can do when emails are being bounced back to us. We make every attempt to call customers in situations like this but it is not possible to make a call to every customer.
A full refund was issued after it seemed we would not be able to contact the customer.
We hope the customer can see this message and understand the situation. We also recommend customers to create an account to check status messages in the order history on our website instead of relying only on emails. |

The most disturbing thing about this store and the person who apparantly is its spokeperson is his comments about the makers of products this store decides to sell.He does not care that OCZ says his store is to blame. Nor does he care if OCZ makes a good product or treats customers correctly.OCZ makes low quality products and there are so many better brands for power supplies.JUNE 15,2007:NO sorry CASE-MOD.COM my facts are exactly right. OCZ said you gave me the rebate and they said it in writing to the AG. You can check that FACT for yourself. I only reported what OCZ said or alleged that you did. Maybe you can get them to retract that or correct it. But it was their letter not mine and OCZ had no problem blaming you. You should think about that but you are much too busy attacking customers to consider what it means.
JUNE 14,2007: In response to CASE-MOD.COM's latest posts here in the last week, I should let it be known what OCZ said regarding CASE-MOD.COM. In OCZ's letter to the PA Atty General dated May 24, 2007 OCZ writes" CASE-MOD.COM gave Mr.[X] the OCZ rebate form without our permission." Looks to me like OCZ was willing to write you off as a reseller of their products long ago and wanted to put the blame squarely on you for their illegal rebates. I think it is unfortunate that you defended them and their rebate practices previously and felt it necessary to attack me instead.Since you refuse to apologize to me for that, and my rating is for customer experience overall in dealing with your site, I believe that my rating of your site is fair. And OCZ most certainly was never your fan although you seemed to want to sell their products no matter what tactics they use to trick customers.
Here is the story for those who do not know:
I was notified on May 23, 2007 by OCZ Technologies and the PA ATTORNEY General's Office that OCZ had decided to pay my rebate in full.My rebate is already in the bank. Many bravos go to the PA ATTY General for the excellent hard work they did here.I commend OCZ Technologies for realizing this rebate refusal scheme they had at almost a 100% rate was wrong and dishonest. I hope they end it forever now.
On April 16, 2007 I had ordered the OCZ Technology GameXStream 850 Watt Power Supply from Case-MOD.COM. They had a price of $197.38 with delivery and there was a $30 rebate from the manufacturer that would drop the price to $167.38 plus the cost of a stamp.CASE-MOD.COM's price was not the lowest but they had the item in stock to ship. As you shall read, the rebate was no good because I purchased it at CASE-MOD.COM. I received a postcard reply from OCZ Technology that my rebate was DENIED because my purchase was made by an UNAUTHORIZED retailer[CASE-MOD.COM].I filed a formal complaint against OCZ Technology and CASE-MOD.COM with the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office of Consumer Protection. I won. I got exactly what I wanted and asked for --the $30 rebate I had honestly submitted.
As far as CASE-MOD.COM was concerned, they did NOTHING to assist me with this problem although they did admit the OCZ rebate form was poorly written. CASE-MOD.COM instead just attacked me and lied about the facts saying I should have researched the rebate program better. There was actually nothing available to research as they well know. The rebate was in fact a MANUFACTURER REBATE and should have been good at any legitimate retailer. There was nothing on the rebate form to inform a consumer that the rebate would not be good at certain retailers and there was no site to check to see what retailers were not included or were included in the rebate. CASE-MOD.COM continues to make it sound like I did something wrong(after they posted 3 different times they would no longer respond to my negative review)and now they say I "bypassed" OCZ's rebate requirements. No I did not bypass them --they were illegal.CASE-MOD.COM can not figure that out.ILLEGAL--meaning they were breaking the law. That's no concern to CASE-MOD.COM obviously and that is partly why my negative review is here. For customers who want to know,a company can not offer a rebate that has "hidden" requirements for customers to qualify. There has to be a reasonable way for customers to know if they qualify for the rebate. So if only certain retailers can be used to obtain the manufacturer rebate, there has to be a way for a customer to know this. That was the problem here. CASE-MOD.COM knows I won by now. Still they attack me. I must have been right or why would OCZ send me the rebate in full a month after the Attorney General began investigating this sordid affair? CASE-MOD.COM just wants to attack me and I guess will never admit they had some responsibility here as a retailer. Too bad they do not know the law regarding rebates and retailer's responsibilities regarding them. Why take a chance with a retailer that attacks customers when the customer was right to start with?CASE-MOD.COM owes me an apology in writing for their nasty uncalled for attacks on a customer who was right. I got that apology from OCZ. I never got one from CASE-MOD.COM however. Thanks to the hundreds of readers who emailed me with their support and stories of these rebate scams they were taken by.If you feel a manufacturer and/or retailer ripped you off regarding a rebate they offered I urge you to contact the AG in your state. Guess what people? Sometimes the little guy can WIN!!!

June 15: Readers, please know that we never gave this customer any rebate form; he found a rebate form on a different website and sent it in. When OCZ denied the rebate, he changed his original "very satisfied" rating to a "very dissatisfied" as if the rebate denial was somehow our fault. We give him credit for not giving all the facts. He says OCZ wrote to the Attorney General that we provided the rebate form. Regardless if that is or is not what OCZ wrote, he should clarify to the reader that he sent in a rebate form that he found at a different website. He uses OCZ's response to lead the reader to believe we had provided him the rebate. We could care less about what OCZ did or does; we are only responding to clear our good name as this forum is for Case-Mod.com, not OCZ; if only this customer could understand this simple statement.
In Response: "The rebate was in fact a MANUFACTURER REBATE and should have been good at any legitimate retailer. There was nothing on the rebate form to inform a consumer that the rebate would not be good at certain retailers and there was no site to check to see what retailers were not included or were included in the rebate."
Exactly. WE AGREE! It was a manufacturer's rebate. It was the manufacturer's responsibility to tell the consumer where the rebate is valid. We did not advertise the rebate form or provide it on our website. Can you please explain to us why this is our fault? Please be reasonable...You got your rebate money and the power supply. OCZ was trying to screw you, but in the end they had to pay up. Why still give us the 0 rating for OCZ's shady rebate program? How was our service not worthy of a 10? You posted here with a "very satisfied" that changed to "very dissatisfied" when OCZ rejected the rebate.
Your negative rating does nothing to help out the little guy - neither any honest customer nor any small, honest web store. We did our job but still got negative feedback. So much for looking out for the little guy. |

My second order with this store.
I placed an order for a:
1 x OCZ OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K EL DDR PC-3200/ 400MHz/ Platinum/ Dual Channel (OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K)
on Oct 30, 2007. My order still has a pending status and they will not answer my e-mails. Since it is clear they are not going to, I will leave this very dissatisfied rating for this order.
If I don't hear from them I will be going to my credit card company and have this order reversed. You can call me overzealous all you want. This is pathetic when a customer has to come to a website like Resellers Ratings to try and get some communication from an online vendor.
If the item is not in stock, why not e-mail and say so.
I will never place another order with you again.

Do not buy from this company, nor believe what this company will tell you, they are not trustworthy!
I called Case-Mod to ask about its promotion and to let them know I was not able to locate it prior to placing my order. I actually was doing so out of kindness and looking out for them and future customers. In response to my letting them know I could not find where to input the coupon number i had received in an e-mail from Case-Mod, I was told that I should have been happy to get a promotion at all and that I should have found it as it was located after the credit card input section of my order. At no time was I given any courtesy or offered any discount. I was insulted by the person at Case-Mod I spoke to, and questioned as to how I was not more appreciative of getting an offer of a discount (regardless if I could find it), as I should be, completely missing the point that i had no problem with getting a coupon, but had called to let them know it was not located in the process leading up to the use of my credit card, that they had told me it would be via their e-mail. Eventually the Customer Service person at Case-Mod hung up the phone on me and cancelled my order. Perhaps if you never speak to one of the people at this company you will be spared such bad treatment, but why do business with jerks?
It turns out that the coupon promo was for a discount of 2 1/2 percent. From the way the e-mail was written, I would have expected a larger discount as a first time buyer, like the ten percent Overcool.com offers.
This company is more trouble than they are worth. They wrote the poorly written e-mail and did not have the place to enter a coupon easily visible prior to entering your personal information.
This company made it appear that this promo was a big deal and that it would be easily found early on in the ordering process, but was not.
I called to let them know I had difficulty finding it.
At no time did the person I was speaking to offer to give me any kind of respect or consideration for the frustrating process that began with the e-mail from Case-Mod! Arrogant is the best word to describe this company.
Do not make the mistake I did of giving them a chance, my guess is they probably give bad service in other ways as well and since I alerted them in an e-mail that I would be letting others know of their crappy service, do not be surprised to see them try to reply and spin things in a different light.
Directron, NewEgg, MWave, and Overcool dot coms are much better choices with much more professional service than you will ever likely find from this company. Buy elsewhere! This review was modified by its author, thegoldenstrand, on

First time in 5 years anyone has been unable to find the box marked "Enter Coupon Code/Gift Voucher" during checkout. Moreover, first time we have received a negative rating for, "Getting me all excited to think I might get a promo. (as he wrote in an email to us)"
We would have gladly applied to coupon to his order, but he never asked. He continued to yell obscene remarks before hanging up on the phone. |

I ordered 3 coolermaster stacker 4-in-3 modules.
I ordered them March 18.
Though they were not listed as being out of stock,
case-mod sent me an email March 21 saying they were not in stock, but should be in stock by the end of the month. I replied to their email, asking for a discount. They did not reply to my email. I sent them another email April 2 asking for an order status. I did not get a reply. I made a negative review on resellerratings.com. I got a reply from case-mod.com asking me why I gave them a bad review. They said they got my two earlier emails, but didn't reply because they didn't have any news. They said I was already using a discount coupon, and couldn't get a price break. They claimed that they said the modules were out of stock when I ordered initially. They said they were getting some in and would be shipping in a few days and would send a tracking number.
They asked me to change my review. I didn't.
I checked back with them a few days later and found out that they had cancelled my order without letting me know. I changed my review to say no comment for everything. I contacted them and they agreed to send the order. It was shipped. It did not contain a free bonus item that they initially said they were shipping. I am now updating my review with the complete story. I will include all email correspondence with them at my site www.weasel.com. I feel they pressured me to change my review. I think it unfair of them to cancel my order without telling me. I think it unfair of them to sell an item, and later mention that it isn't in stock. Jeff is one of those persons who only post on resellerratings when there are negative experiences (take a look at his 2 postings). It seems, he goes into an internet purchase with a pre-determined negative expectation. C'mon, he actually updates his website with 'weasel of the month.' Nice life.
All are welcome to view the emails we sent to him (listed on his website) and come to their own conclusions. Notice the professional and complete emails we have written to him.
The truth is this: the price was too good for him to go anywhere else! Even after his order was cancelled, he had his wife call us. She literally *begged* us to re-issue the order because she and her husband had been looking for days and couldn't find the items anywhere else for less. Surely he could have purchased them elsewhere if he was so dissatisfied with our service? After all, he does have "20 years experience buying and selling on the internet." (as he wrote in an email) C'mon, buying and selling on the internet since 1986? (His website looks like it is from 1986.)
Resellerratings.com is a great tool for sellers and buyers. Unfortunately, some buyers don't understand how to use it. One shouldn't just post when something wrong happens. Jeff has been buying and selling on the internet for 20 years, but has only posted twice at resellerratings.com and both were for bad experiences he had. Moreover, a very dissatisfied (0/10) is for a company that commits fraudulent or illegal activities such as bait and switch or other scams. Not answering an email within 24 hours is not a reason to leave a 0/10. A 5/10 would have sufficed here.
Our record proves we have never committed any type of fraud or scams. Even in this case, the customer did receive his items in new, working condition in the timeframe we had mentioned to him when his order was placed. He was just mad that we wouldn't offer an additional discount after 2 discounts were already applied. Moreover, he had 2 weeks to cancel the order if he so wished, but he chose not to. |

Price was cheap, too bad they marked on their website it was in stock but found out a week later after it should have been here it was stuck at processing because they didn't have the item in stock and didn't have any notice that the order would be delayed. At the very least, include correct facts:
He ordered Thursday night and was notified on Monday (2nd business day) that the product would be shipped on Wednesday. So it was 2 days and not quite 'a week later after it should have been here.'
Not sure about his comment, '25 rings and no answers' as he called in to cancel his order.
He called and cancelled at 3:05 pm. A refund was issued to his paypal account at 5:38 pm. |

Having experienced >40 years as a corporate manager in customer service, it would seem appropriate to give the email no more than a "one day" if not an immediate response. Something tells me that I will be out the cost of the fan. So far, Case-Mod of San Jose, CA was NOT a good business decision on my part. If all issues get resolved this week I will update this review.

For 3 days after he placed his order, we tried to email and phone him. After our contact attempts failed, we shipped all but one fan and sent a personal, handwritten note about the 1 fan. We received a response from him on Thursday night 7/28 and a replacement fan was shipped on Friday 7/29.
It seems Mr. Corporate Manager (in customer service) just assumes the worst.
He did receive his fan promptly. Even with his >40 years experience in "customer service", it seems he never edited his review as promised.
Regardless, everyone is welcome to post their own opinions and feelings about any company on resellerratings.com. We have been in business for 4 years and our rating here proves that there is no pattern or resemeblance of abuse of customers or fraud.
Yes, from time to time we do mess up orders and it seems those 1-2 that we do mess up each month get posted here; those orders eventually get resolved. It would be wonderful if the thousand+ that do go smoothly each month would post on here as well.
To our dear customers, thank you for your continued support! |
