I live in Long Beach CA, and whenever I order from Newegg by midnight, using regular cheapest delivery method, I get my order delivered by NOON the next day (even though they say 2-3 days!!) This has happened 3 times in the past year.
If you hate traffic and live in LA, it's easier and cheaper and you get lots more product choices to order from Newegg than to get in the car and drive to a retail store. I'm totally pleased with them. Unless you need something within 2 hours, order it from Newegg!! (Their customer service phone service is good also.)

I appears Newegg is now cooperating with VISA, to help coerce customers into agreeing to the anti-consumer Verified By VISA contract.
You know what they want you to believe? That, if you're defrauded, if your credit card information is stolen and misused, that it's YOUR FAULT, and YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. That's right, kids, that's the agreement they want you to sign.
The Verified By Visa Terms of Use contract states,
"You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password, registration data and other verification information established by you with Verified by Visa, and all activities that occur using your password, registration data or other verification information supplied to or established by you with Verified by Visa."
That is an intentional misrepresentation of facts. Worse, it's contrary to your rights under the federal law (Fair Credit Billing Act).
Anybody familiar with the internet understands that, probably within a day or two of their going live, hackers will have copied Verified by VISA form pages, so that they could reproduce those pages on phish sites. At this point, if somebody is going to fall for a phish, it's likely their VbV password would be compromised as easily as their credit card information. VbV doesn't change the nature of the problem. It's not more "protection" in that regard.
Further, the Verified by Visa information is DESIGNED to be entered into web forms, and transmitted to web servers, at which point, that information is, obviously, no longer under the customer's control. After that point, the VbV data is AT LEAST as likely to be compromised as a result of a security problem on the vendor's own web server, or due to the activities of one of their employees, as it is to be compromised by anything the end user did. Again, VbV doesn't change the nature of the problem. If you've sent your VbV information to another server even ONE time, that is no longer information you control.
So, why would a big corporation like VISA want to do this, use their monopolistic leverage to try to coerce customers into accepting "sole responsibility" for the whole Verified by Visa transaction? It's simple. They don't like the current state of the law, so they think it will be more profitable to create some confusion. They want to introduce one more layer of verbiage and FUD in the minds of consumers, so those customers will be even less likely to have a clear understanding of their rights when there's a security problem. The new default answer will be: any security problem must have been the customer's fault.
Whether it's legally binding or not (it's not), VISA hopes to coerce customers into accepting a secondary contract, on top of the (federally regulated) cardholder agreement, which is designed to evade (or erode) the intent of the FCBA. (And now Newegg wants to help them do it, probably in exchange for some sort of compensation.)
I recommend not paying any attention to the silly Verified by Visa smoke screen --keep your eye on the ball. This is the law as it applies to credit card users. If you think your credit card information has been compromised, and the card was used for fraudulent transactions, you're required to notify the credit card company within a timely fashion. If you do that, your liability for fraudulent transactions will not exceed $50. Period. There are no other obligations. No other hoops to jump through. No other contracts to sign.
I tell you what, if this happens again --if this looks like it's a new policy, and not a mistake --if I go to Newegg, place an order using my credit card number, which is on file, using the billing address which is on file for that credit card, using the same shipping address as the billing address, using the same email address I've used for ten years, and I STILL immediately get a harassing phone call from the "fraud department" at VISA (i.e. because I haven't signed up for Verified by VISA), then I am going to be one resentful and determined son-of-a-gun, and I will name Newegg specifically in my complaint to the Federal Trade Commission.
Another online vendor tried similarly irritating Verified by Visa tricks with me last year, and it left such a bad impression that I haven't ordered anything from them since. I do not appreciate getting jerked around just because I try to use my VISA card in the normal way. If you are an online store, DO NOT accept my payment, but then try to jerk me around because of VbV issues --gfy. That could be the last time we do business. Dear HarveyG,
Thank you for posting your informative review. Please note that Verified by Visa is not a requirement for getting an order processed. It is simply an option you have for security purposes.

Fast delivery and great customer service, that's Newegg. Wait, there's more. One of the items went on sale the day after I ordered and before I received it. I contacted them and asked if they would honor the sale price. They did and issued me a credit on my MC. Then, after I received my order, I discovered that the package containing the item was empty. Not their fault: it just had not been filled at the manufacturer's. But after I contacted them, Newegg immediately sent me a replacement. Newegg will be getting more of my business you can be sure!

Ordered several WD Caviar Green Hard Drives and the very next day New Egg had them on special sale for $20 less. They refunded the difference with superb customer service. That's why I always shop at New Egg. This review was modified by its author, hnovitsky, on

Newegg consistently offers value to it's customers. I especially value the millons of comments and the site design makes it easy to find information within them to make an informed purchase. Their customer service is always helpful and professional.
Hey, here are a couple of new tag lines:
A: Our millions comments put the "We" in Newegg
B: Newegg, now we're golden.
C: Newegg, our competitors are scramblin to catch up
D:Newegg, customers served, over-easy.
I got tons of em.

I always shop at newegg! they have the best prices, fastest shipping, and a wildly comprehensive set of product information that is in a wonderfully well laid out and intuitive interface. And those rare occasions I need to use customer service, they are always very helpful and resolve any issues I might have.

Purchased an i7 860 Friday from newegg for US$289. On Wednesday found a local retailer with a sale of the same chip for US$229. Online chat with a representative and I was refunded US$25. I will never buy computer components anywhere else!

I have been ordering from Newegg for about 9 years now, and the reason is obvious. They generally have the best prices you can find, and when they don't, the extra few bucks is worth the service. They also have no problem price matching, which is fantastic.
The company is VERY easy to contact and deal with when that becomes necessary (and sometimes it does, even with the best resellers). I have yet to speak with a Newegg rep that hasn't been knowledgeable, prompt, and courteous.
Products are always shipped extremely quickly, and I have never had a shipment take longer than their estimated time. Most of the time, things arrive a day or two earlier than expected.
Good job, Newegg. I wish a lot of the internet would follow suit. This review was modified by its author, dannyac, on

Update 9/15/2009:
I contacted Alex at Newegg and he is crediting my account for the $20 rebate. I am happy to report that Newegg is still a company that honors advertised rebates and provides excellent products, pricing, and customer service. Once again I have to say, "Why buy anywhere else?
Thanks Alex and Newegg!
Original review:
Newegg or Badegg?
Getting rebates is never easy or fun, but today I tried to register for a $20 rebate advertised on Newegg, and I could not even through by the online registration process for an OCZ Modstream Pro OCZ500MXSP power supply.
After entering the correct rebate information, I was informed that my rebate would be $10 instead of the advertised $20.
When I attempted to reenter the information for that rebate, thinking I might have made some mistake entering information, I was locked out.
I have to wonder if it is worth $20 for Newegg and OCZ to ruin a customer relationship? I guess they think so. This review was modified by its author, vplite, on

NewEgg...what is there NOT to like about them?
Are they the cheapest? Many times not, but they will be within a few dollars of the cheapest.
Are they the best? Most definately. They have warehouses on each coast, so many of the items you order will arrive next day, even though you paid for slow shipping.
They have a great RMA process, they really seem to have the customer's best interest at heart! I have had to return items, and depending on the problem they will usually pay for the return shipping. How many places do that?
I do most of my electronics shopping at NewEgg, I suggest you all do the same too. Really, you will not regret it.

I've been shopping here for some time now and normally my purchases go without a hitch with NewEgg. This last purchase though I feel uniformed because there used to be an option for No Interest, Zero Payments for 6 months through their credit card. Apparently not anymore because I started getting late fees and minimum payments with no warning. Last time I trust buying anything with that service. I'll stick to using my own credit card.
Edit: To clarify what I'm trying to get at, the 6/12 month no interest option used to not require a minimum payment. Now it is and I had missed that and ended up getting charged late fees. =/ This review was modified by its author, seprodigy, on

Dear Seprodigy,
We greatly apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I believe it is Preferred Account you are making reference to.
Newegg is an entirely different company, although I do see preferred account still offers No Interest for 6 months and 12 months for qualifying orders.
If you would like to discuss this issue further, Please contact Danny at 1.800.390.1119 ext.25067 or via email at danny.t.martinez@newegg.com
I am looking forward to assisting you, and I hope you have a great rest of the week.

Just wanted to put in a hooray for the Enlight 350W PSU I bought from NewEgg 5-years ago. It is still in the box and operates every day. It hasn't been pushed at the max end. I'm adding a 10W hard drive soon. This review was modified by its author, stiffinger, on

We greatly apologize for any inconvenience caused by this RMA issue, and we assure you that we would never intentionally cause for you to ever be dissatisfied with our services. My TV arrived with a huge crack in it. I was told no problem, they would send a replacement right away. A week later...no TV, I called and was told they had no record of my call on file, but assured me that they would take care of it right away. A week later...no TV.I called again and was told by Trevor, in customer service (who had placed the last order)that It was too late when I had called and they were not going to replace the TV. I explained again that I had called the day AFTER the TV arrived. My call to him was my second call. He said tough luck-no refund. I asked to speak to his supervisor. He placed me on hold where I was left for about 10 min. and then hung up. I called back and asked for a supervisor. I was given to Arlene, who was very apologetic about everything and assured me this would be replaced immediately. I even received a confirmation E-mail. So here we are a week later and I am on the phone with Arlene (well... on hold again) and she is trying to figure out why the order did NOT ship AGAIN!! OK got the answer...accounting was confused so instead of communicating with another department, they just never released the order. I have had a broken 50" TV sitting in my living room all this time!! UGH!!!
