I ordered a Sony HDR HC1 camcorder by phone and was assured it was in stock and would ship out that day or the next. Four days later I find out that it has not shipped and is on backorder. I cancelled the order and the salesman became rude. So far no refund issued and I am disputing it with Visa.
I will say I was skeptical about ordering from DBuys. I had read the negative reviews. But, I was about to spend about $1250 and I wanted a good feeling about the merchant.
But the experience was great! Yeah, the saleman offered me some accessories, but I politely declined and he dropped it. I ordered the Panasonic PV-GS400, it shipped the very next day and I received it about 3 days later. It's new, it's US, it's complete, it great! I couldn't be happier.
I purchased Nikon camera for $1327.80 on Oct. 26, 2004. Two Items were missing when I received the camera. (A Spare battery and an adaptor to attach the Telephoto and Wide-angle Lens to the Camera.) When I called about the items I was told they were waiting for the batteries from Nikon, but the adaptor was in stock and would be shipped the next day. Another month passed and when I called again I was told the same thing. Another month passed and I called the third time and was told the same thing. February 15, 2005 they finally shipped the battery on invoice D788345. Invoice stated the adapter (SAKLA5700) would be shipped at a later date. Never did get the adaptor and can not attach the lenses to the camera. Filled a complaint with the BBB May 6, 2005, but have not heard anything from them either. Did find out while on the BBB web site that Dbuys.com has an unsatisfactory rating. Wish I had checked it out before ordering. If you expect to receive what you have paid for, then this is not the company to shop from. I will never buy any thing from them again. Moral: Check with the BBB online prior to making on line purchases. This store operates under other different names also.
Bought Canon 20D for $1364, shipping included. Mostly smooth transaction with expected speed.
A slightly odd "order verification", had to call them to "confirm the order". A short upsell pitch with no pressure, though. Some mess happen while processing the credit card.
The billing department called me and left a message that they were unable to charge the card, while the camera arrived the next day. I called them two days later to hear that everything is all right.
The camera was in excellent condition, but FACTORY REFURBISHED.
The firmware was the latest version, the clock battery was installed and connected, the counter indicated 1200 shots taken, the clock was set to GMT+12 time zone. Japan has GMT+9, so I guess it was somewhere in New Zeland.
I do not mind as far as it is a great performer but somebody eager to be an ultimate quality tester may be disappointed.
A personal opinion for a prospective buyer - people told here before that this is a good weather seller. Please be patient - cheap prices have their own cost.
The seller makes its best and they are good at that. Do not rush them and do not place the order here if the time is an issue. You should buy the guaranteed time explicitly.

After looking to purchase the Panasonic PV-GS400 camcorder, and not finding it at names like B&H ,OneCall, etc., I emailed dbuys.com(along with four of their sister companies)to exprees my concerns about buying from them due to some of the ratings they have. They showed it "guaranteed in stock" but I was afraid it might be reconditioned or gray market. I received a response assuring me the camera was in stock, it was brand new with US warranty, and it was a newer model that hasn't had the tape transport noise problem. I called them and spoke to Abe and he reiterated everything in their email. I was still anxious but put down the credit card. Well, I have to say they have done everything they said they would do. I ordered the cmacorder on April 7, at around 1:00 PM. Later that evening I received an email from FedEx with a tracking number showing the camera as being shipped! I received the product today and as promised, it was brand new with US warranty. All the anxiety I had was for naught. Abe tried sell an additional battery saying "the battery that comes with the camera only lasts about 45 minutes". I told him I hadn't even looked at what accessories I want for this camera. At the end of the call he offered me a UV lens for about $20 but I said "no thank you, I just want the camera". That was it. No extra pressure. If you want to talk to Abe I think his extension is 227. Seemed to be a straight shooter. I would buy from this store again as was extremely satisfied. I told Abe that if I received the product as described that I would leave a good review here. Maybe that helped!

Dbuys.com is one of the best and should be a role model for all other internet sellers to follow.
I purchased a Panasonic camcorder #PV-GS150 on line very late Sunday night 04/03/05, of-course a computer generated an order acknowledgement via email right away, Mon.04/04 Dbuys.com sent an email confirmed the order, Tues 04/05 FedX sent an email indicated the camcorder enroute to me w/deli. date to be on Friday 05/08 and there was a link direct to tracking process w/o entering tracking number. Wed 04/06, Dbuys notified me via email of my FedX tracking number (note: FedX was
faster than Dbuys).
This morning, Thurs 04/07 to my suprise, at about 8:30AM I already received my camcorder- Wow! we're talking about services (I paid for FedX ground).
Like most of you, I checked out Dbuys rating before placing an order, Dbuys never called to
ask for confirmation (everyone know this is the trick to force customers to buy other options w/very high profit margin for sellers, if customers refused they will say items not in stock and cancel orders).
Needless to say,I'm very delighted w/Dbuys pricing, selections and their service. I will
definitely do business w/them again.
As buyers we need to be educated, especially on line and telephone purchasesy, you can't physically check out the stores but certainly the ratings from other buyers are the only tools to be utilized by yourself to make an informed decision.
Glad I purchased my Sony camcorder thru this company. I saved a $150 total, buy NOT buying thru Best Buy or Circuit City. I was nervous at first, since I never purchased anything of this value on-line. But received the confirmation number and shipping detail right after the purchase; and I recieved the camcorder within a few days. I will for sure make another purchase with this company.
I ordered a Pioneer Home Theater reciever from DBUYS.COM from their website. The ordering process was smooth and entirely painless. The reciever arrived (in Minnesota!) surprisingly quickly (2 or 3 days) and in pristine condition. I'm very happy with my reciever and with DBUYS.COM.
Good prices and honest service. My only complaint is that they shipped the next day, but I didn't receive the tracking number from them until after I received an email from FedEx saying my packages from Dbuys had been delivered (this was, however, an overnight package). That's very minor, however, since everything arrived on time. I'm sure they'll automate their shipping eventually. I'm sure I'll buy more from them in the future.
