I ordered with this merchant on the advice of a client. The merchant sold me a Shuttle Barebones advertised as new. The mother board installed in the Shuttle case was missing the BIOS chip and some of the baggies of parts in the box showed signs of having been used before. Merchant's customer services was horrible and slow to respond. They couldn't resolve the issue for me and their support and return process so difficult that you can't get anything resolved. NewEgg.com would have given me better service and better prices. I will avoid Directron in the future.

This item was brand new and was never sold to another customer. This customer filled out our online RMA form but failed to ship the unit back to be replaced. On 09/03/09 after seeing this review and having this issue brought to our attention for the first time, we contacted the customer and offered to email him a pre-paid UPS label to send this unit back for a brand new replacement. The customer declined the offer and stated he had purchased another unit elsewhere and did not need to send anything back.
All of our policies and instructions for returns/discrepancy reports are made available on our home page and printed at the bottom of every invoice.
Seller advertises low prices...upon checkout, shipping charges are 2-3 times what comparable vendors charge. My issue with the company regarded shipping costs. Contact with the company was maddening...Not until me threatening posting bad reviews (like this one) did they offer to resolve the problem in a way that satisfied BOTH parties. Originally they were going to charge me $16.50 for shipping (and returning)a $32.95 part that I never even received! We eventually agreed to meet halfway on the shipping costs, just to resolve the conflict...There are MANY reputable vendors out there who offer excellent customer service and problem resolution...Read the rest of the following customer reviews and then decide who you have confidence in buying from.

This customer ordered the wrong item from our website. He contacted us to cancel the order, which had already shipped. We agreed to give the customer a full refund minus the 10.00 delivery intercept fee which is charged by UPS and the customer agreed. His email is quoted below:
"As I am quite familiar with running a business and know how shipping costs affect all of us...I will accept your offer...Please credit the
$34.45 back to my account and we will call it even."
Good prices, site well organized, transaction simple. Lots of goodies. No hassle with paypal. Stuff was packed nicely and everything worked fine. Got a free T-shirt (wrong one, but oh well). Good solid job, reasonable shipping rates, fast out the door. Love it!
This is my 4th order this year. And i have nothing but positive things to say about directron. I ordered on a monday, and received my shipment on wednesday. GREAT!!! delivery in 2 days. Everything i have ordered, ever, works fine. Dont pay attention to the naysayers here, philf, and johnathan77, directron is a very, very, reputable company, and i will do business with them and them alone, as long as i live. KCS3295: you the loser, not directron.

I bought a controller for my media center and when I received it it wasn't working properly. If a store sells something that is broken I will not pay to return it then pay for them to send me a new one again. i'm very unsatisfied with the site and will never order or recommender this store to anyone else. I've never had a problem with any one else not paying for shipping for broken goods.
Ordered a video tuner after comparison shopping online. Unfortunately, the company's website links to the WRONG (but very similar) product, so I ended up placing an order for something I couldn't use.
BOTTOM LINE: Company offers NO exchange policy, long hold times to speak to a real person, and then, get this: REFUND ONLY (!!) with a 15% RESTOCKING FEE. Plus I've got to pay to ship it back to them, and no consideration for the shipping I've already paid for. Fuhgeddaboudit!! Sure, partly my fault, but these guys are not interested in customer relations.
I contacted the company with the intent of ordering the correct product from them if they'd been willing to work with me, but instead I got attitude from a nasty CSR. The thing is going on EBay, what a fricking waste of time. [plus, the price on the correct item wasn't competitive]
Ordered 5 items around noon on Monday. They called to confirm the address later that day. All products arrived in excellent condition by Tuesday afternoon (UPS ground). I am very impressed with their speed, acuracy, quality, and prices. I will definitely be refering my friends and will shop from them again.
Haven't hooked up the new parts yet, but hope I won't need to use their return policy!
update... Computer is running great with all of the new parts. Didn't need to return anything. In fact, I have already ordered and received more prodcts from them!

On the whole is and has been a good place to shop for those "Gaming Goodies." I often come here and have done so for some of my wanted parts over the last 10 months for the final build of 2 New Screamers... And they call you if need be which is a nice touch. Personal Service is a great sign of a committed company who wants your business and is willing to make that call. When not doing so may mean lack of repeat sales and general customer satisfaction. But they are too close to Rosenberg for my liking...LOL... You need to be from Texas to get that...
Perfect deal. They were a little high on the item I wanted but it was OOS at the other reputable sites I frequently use but supply and demand in the way of business.
I ordered an AMD 5050e specifically because I wanted a 45W dual core of at least 2.5G stock for use as a PVR.
I placed my order and found Paypall was a very nice option. It was easier than pulling out my CC and sending it over the "Net one more time and all I needed to do was remember my PW. Super slick purchase.
The item was shipped quickly and arrived via UP in great condition. Overall I am very happy they had what I needed and able to get it out ASAP.
I have not had to use their RMA so I cannot say how they would do on returns. Hopefully I won't need to find out.
I want to add that several years ago I bought an MSI board from them. They called me the following day to say they were OOS and apologized. One of the guys - can't remember his name- helped me find another board with a few extra features and he let me have it at the same price.
I was very pleased to know they would call me during the day and put a live person on the phone with me to resolve the issue. I would rate them an A+ from my limited experience.
I needed a certain revision # of a Gigabyte mobd. I asked 3 vendors of they could ID the revision before purchase. Amazon said they couldn't do it. Mwave didn't respond to my email.
Directron checked & verified that they had what I wanted. I also purchased a HD & DVD burner from them.
Their low prices as well as personal service has made me a continuing customer.
This is a great site that made it easy to find what I needed. The values are crazy, so I ended up buying another item. Very happy; would definitely visit again; will definitely recommend.
