I had ordered Canon SD 780 IS.
The shipping was ok but they refused my cashback which was the main reason to shop with them.
Im not happy with the experience and won't recommend this website to anyone.

I have received Excellent Service. I used the "chat" feature to ask specific questions about the camera, what a great feature if the site. I then placed the order online, for a "Cannon PowerShot SX10 IS" with two day shipping, and guess what, It arrived when they said it would. Thank You for meeting my needs!!

Ordered a Nikon Telephoto Lens on Friday and received my lens the following Thursday. Smooth transaction, credit card was charged when lens was shipped.

I waited a long time for my Nikon 18-200 VR lens, but it was approximately what they estimated when I placed the order. I'm happy with cameraworld.com and would purchase from them again.

placed order for item listed as "in stock." took 3 days to discover it was not in stock - in fact - not even available anymore! Received a total of 4 e-mails from them in only 3 days.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS STORE!
I ordered a Canon Elura 100 camcorder as a present for Christmas w/ extra 2 day shipping charge from cameraworld.com. The website noted it was in stock. I got an email saying that it would ship in 5-7 days 2 days after I ordered. I emailed them but got no reply until after Christmas. Then it was "we're sorry but we still have not gotten our shipment from the Manufacturer but should get it very soon." It was a good deal so I thought a couple of days shouldn't make a big difference as it was already after Christmas. I got another email saying we haven't forgotten your order. 3 weeks later I get an email that my order was cancelled. I complained to customer service and to date have not gotten any reply. This service is terrible and I warn everyone not to order from them. It's too bad as I had ordered from them before they were taken over by Ritz camera and had excellent service.

Ordered a telescope on Nov. 18, 2006. Sent follow-up email asking when to expect delivery on Nov. 29, 2006. Received this response...

Well jeez guys, thanks so much for making me have to now run around to find another one. This was at the top of my nephews wish list and I'm pretty pissed that they never even bothered to send an OOS to let me know it would never arrive.

Customer service is HORRIBLE at Ritz camera. I had to call them 4 times to place an order because they either placed me on hold for 40 minutes or hung me up. During the last call I was placed on hold 8 times, each from 3 min to 20 min, I had to repeat 8 coupon codes totaling 144 digits TWICE and verify them, because they hung me up after the first time. Reps are ignorant and talk nonsense in India English, finally they placed the order with the shippping address missing my apt number. Entire process was horribly painful, and still worried about the order

Ordered hard to find Camera from vendor only because they showed it IN STOCK, and the site showed it as in stock 24 hours AFTER I ordered.
Three days later, I received an email to call and "confirm" my already confirmed order. Surprise surprise, the item is backordered. It became very apparent they oversell a hard to find/backordered item for days, the CR admitted they only had one camera come in, even though it was advertised in stock for two days on four websites, they are amassing orders online then hoping buyers will keep the backorder rather than cancel. I didn't fall for this scam!
Also, despite comments and assurances to the contrary, my credit card WAS CHARGED!
These guys are crooks, another Brooklyn-based scam operation hiding behind a legitimate retail operation. I will never buy anything or step in their stores again!!

I was aware of the mixed reputation of this seller, however they indicated they had batteries for the Nikon D200 in stock. Most other sellers do not at this time. I attempted to plce an on-line order but received no confirm within the next 24 hours. Next day I tried again. Still no response. I called and they had no record of my atempts to order. After a few transfers I got a person who said they may be having problems with their website and I could order over the phone. The process was not
very smooth but eventually I did get the order placed. After this the process went well. No
call backs to "confirm: (e.g. upsell) or sudden
"out-of-stock" news. The merchandise arrived on schedule and as ordered. Would I use them again:
Yes. The process wasn't great but they had merchandise not available elsewhere and delivered as promised.

HORRIBLE!! This store is the same as RitzCamera -- just check out their dismal ratings if my experience doesn't convince you to RUN! Customer service when trying to place my order was so bad that I eventually called them back and cancelled the order. They were impossible to get on the phone, their emails bounced, and once I did get them on the phone I quickly realized that this is one badly run company. I listened to my instincts and I told them to cancel the order. I'd rather go to a requtable company that treat customers with respect. I am rarely compelled to comment on a company, but this experience was so bad that I wanted to warn others to stay away. I feel GREAT knowing that I did not give these people a DIME. I ordered a Nikon D200 from this company after looking around for a while to find someone who had this camera in stock.
I first checked through their online “chat” function and was assured by the company that they did have the D200 in stock, it was USA (not gray), and everything was legit. I did mention that I was concerned about ordering from them because of their lower rating (on the ritzcamera side of the house) which they did not comment on. I then called back later to speak with a sales rep that said basically the same thing the online chat person did. Since no one seems to have the D200 (body only) in stock I decided to make the order and asked for over night shipping to get the camera by Friday. I placed the order and shortly after received an email requesting that I call them back for confirmation. After a few lost calls in their voice mail system I ended up speaking with my original sales person who confirmed my address and assured me everything would be fine and that I would receive my order on Friday. He also reminded me that I would get shipping confirmation emails and would be able to track the package via their cameraworld.com web site. Friday came and I received my package without any problems or complications. This transaction went through very smoothly without any problems, hard sells, or any of the other problems that I expected. Generally I have a purchase through only a few camera stores (Canoga Camera or B&H) and would not have ordered through this store except for the fact they were the only ones who had what I was looking for. The overall negative comments/ratings for them would have scared me off. However, this transaction went very well and the communications with the company both on the telephone and online was very good. Their price was typical, their shipping price was VERY GOOD for overnight, and they absorbed the tax.
Bottom line the entire transaction was very smooth and went better than some of my B&H orders.

This is an absolutley terrible online store. They sent the wrong items after almost two weeks still have no idea when they will ship the battery charger that was suppose to be included in my order. They are "waiting on the manufacturer to contact them"! What, I got the very last camera and you don't have any instock at all. After two weeks the minolita won't even contact them. Avoid this company at all costs.

Purchased a CANON EOS DIGITAL REBEL. Had a problem submitting the order through their website. Called and gave the order on the phone. Everything was handled professionally. I found that circuit city had slashed the price for the camera couple of days after they shipped the camera. i called them and they credited the amount. Watchout, cameraworld may not match the price of another retailer but only go as low as they could which was $30 more than what circuit city was offering but I would have ended up paying tax with circuity($50-$60 or more). Overall very nice experience and would definitely recommend shoppnig here.Eventhough the stuff here are priced a wee bit more than those NY/NJ based internet stores, cameraworld is more reliable and authentic.
