Do not reccomend that you buy from Buy.com but if you do: learn from my mistake below.
We bought a Kodak All-in-one printer that did not work. After troubleshooting with Kodak, they identified that the printer was broken and they would send us a new model. They did (and we sent our original to Kodak). It had the same issues as the first. Here's the terrible part: Kodak will only send us a third printer (Which likely won't work) and Buy.com say they can't refund us because we no longer possess the one they sent us. Can you believe this pergatory. Plus, Buy.com did not respond to our customer support requests nor have they followed through with any of their promises. We have bought other items from Buy.com where the product was functional and had no issues but Buyer Beware!

This product was delivered fast, with a Trojan Horse program included! This dangerous item was returned to them right away, but they have not replied to my request for an explanation and apology. They have offered it again since then, even though they KNOW it has this trojan horse!
Beware of Buy.com!

Buy.com was offering a deal (not a steal of a deal, but a pretty decent one) on an ATSC/NTSC framegrabber card - about $20 below the price I would get when ordering direct from the manufacturer. When the card arrived, however, it turned out that it was missing 1) the remote 2) the interface for the remote 3) the IR blaster to control the cable box and 4) the ports for the remote and IR blaster - in other words, it was NOT the same card (although the manufacturer number was the same). To make things worse, after I went through the convoluted procedure of requesting a refund and shipped the card back, I received an e-mail that a refund was issued, however, no refund was actually posted to my account, one week and counting. Trying to talk with customer service did nothing to remedy the situation - complete denial on their part, won't even give me the transaction number.
Ultimately, it took more than a week to get a refund. I am not buying anything ever again from these blighters: there are plenty of drama-free online retailers to choose from. This review was modified by its author, gavniamra, on

Lots of items for sale from many different categories, decent prices for a most.
The item I bought was shipped within 24 hours even though it said ships in 1-2 days with a possible extra 3-5 extra days for free shipping (which I always use if possible). It arrived well packed and nothing was rolling around in the box. While not a big deal they did charge me sales tax even though they are not in my state.

Marketplace Seller: ANTOnline
I have received an item I didn't buy and I paid shipping for an item I didn't buy. I requested a full refund of all the money spent to include shipping due to the product received not being the product advertised. I contacted Buy.com several times to have the product returned at no cost to me. I also contacted ANTonline to issue a shipping label to return the merchandise with. Neither buy.com nor ANTonline would issue a shipping label to return the item that was incorrectly sent and not even purchased buy me. I am of the opinion buy.com and ANTonline need to rectify this problem by refunding the entire amount and forwarding a return shipping slip and any cost. A order cancellation request was sent immediately after the reciept of the forced order clarification E-mail was received. ANTonline needs to refund the entire amount too include shipping and forward by E-mail a return label for shipping back to ANTonline. Not the right product. Not even purchased and refusal by buy.com and ANTonline to correct thier error. that's customer satisfaction. Thanks Buy.com

Note well, shopper/consumer, if you fail to use your purchase for thirty days, then discover it is defective, you have no return rights. My experience = great price if it had worked, but a waste of money for defective and irreparable merchandise.

This company sells things that do not work, then when you contact them, if... you can find the phone number, they will not stand behind the item, and will give you the run around for weeks, then just brush you off! No matter how good the price may seem.. BUYER BEWARE!!!
Well.. Buy.com says they emailed me about this to try to resolve it.. funny.. but. as of Aug.31,2009 5:08 PM PST I have received no email from them!
As of Sept. 17th, 2009, I was informed by Jaime Black of Buy.com that a full credit was given to my credit card for the purchase, and the Netbook was returned to Buycom. Today is Sept. 27, 2009, and I am still waiting for the credit to post to my account. Jo-Anna
Today is Oct.1, 2009. I was just called by my credit card company.. who informed me that indeed the credit from Buy.com had in fact posted to my account on Sept. 19, 2009 and they were "sorry" that I had been given incorrect information! I want to thank Jamie Black for all the help and patience with me over getting this issue resolved! This is truly a valuable employee who went way beyond to satisfy a customer. Thank you Jamie for making things right! I have always liked Buy.com till this issue.. I once again will be a happy customer.

I ordered this Digital Concepts 100-240v Worldwide use Home & Car Rapid Battery Charger w/ AA & AAA Rechargeable Batteries. This was a steal at the low cost I got incld. the batteries, and it came with a DC adapter to boot.

I don't know resellerratings.com has a policy that a post needs to wait for 48 hours to show up (I guess that is only for negative reviews). I will wait for 48 hours now (Aug 31st).
Here is my review for buy.com:
I bought a "Cool Lift Portable Notebook Cooling Pad" from its marketplace - "HandStands". I didn't like the product so I want to post a negative review. I had read the customer reviews before I bought. The reviews were all very good. However, when I tried to submit my negative rating and comments, my post was not shown up. I then tried several times, all failed. At one time I saw another negative review for the product from another customer, but it disappeared the next day. All left are very positive reviews.
Now I believe buy.com's reviews are all bogus. I will never trust them anymore.
Since I cannot post my review on buy.com, I am posting it here:
"This product is made of form/rubber, it does not help cool the laptop and it is way too small. I just wasted my $8 for it."

I am very unhappy with the service I've gotten from Buy.com.
I ordered an HP Mini, for what I am sure is a very good price. They needed to verify the purchase via phone, which seems very reasonable to me, but for some reason they pulled, pretty much out of nowhere, my dad's office line at my parents home. Now, I live two hours away from my parents and I have no car. On top of that, my dad religiously screens calls,b ecause he's trying to run a business, and will not answer 800 number calls. I didn't even know this was his number until after I looked it up, trying to figure out what number they were calling.
I wrote their support section, and found their customer support number and called them, but the customer support woman made it sound like very little could be done, because I need a "verified" number, something that is still very confusing to me.
I need this computer for school next monday, and paid extra to have it shipped in 3-5 days. I'm a college student, and 10 dollars extra for shipping is a lot of money, a whole meal in fact. Had a known I would hit such a ridiculous problem, I would not have paid the extra money. In fact, they are wasting my money, which makes me more mad than anything else.

I ordered one Seiko watch and had very bad experience with Buy.com marketplace sale.
I got a defective watch! One rubber piece (possibly waterproof washer between watch and back over) was peeping out.
When I checked return policy, Buy.com says that I should deal directly with seller. I am sure at the time of placing order, you will miss the marketplace word.
Buy.com is responsible only for collecting money!!!!!!!!!!!
Always avoid this trap if don’t want to suffer like me.
I called seller and he was prompt in giving me RMA number but just number. I had to pay for freight and insurance. I didn’t choose to pay further on the watch. I was not sure if I send watch back, I will get something in return.
So friends, please beware and don’t get trapped. Never buy anything from Buy.com marketplace.

***RESOLUTION*** FINALLY I was contacted by & had an email conversation w/ one of buy.com's higher echelon customer care personnel on Sunday evening no less (8/30). More to the point I received a complete explanation of the events concerning my order and a full refund. Now I don't care about the money but it was considerate of them to offer the refund. While this review reflects actual circumstances surrounding my order, my opinion of buy is slightly improved. This was not due to the refund but the explanation I received.

**UPDATE 8/29** OK the flag on this review "we have contacted customer and are waiting for reply" is typical of buy's customer service!!! I replied to their email, returned their phone call (ONLY voice mail there), I even contacted them via eBay days ago.
I shopped with buy.com thru eBay on mon 8/18, it' thurs 8/20 I'm still waiting for my pkg to arrive...
I paid for next day & wanted the Item I ordered to arrive aprox same time as other products from newegg, where this item was out of stock. well since it supposedly shipped today it should be here by Monday :( Only problem so far I haven't received any tracking info for my order only that it shipped (supposedly). we'll see how this goes. I've always been weary of Buy.com.
*UPDATE 8/24* I got an email from buy today with all tracking info, assuring me order should arrive soon. Hmmm guess they didn't even track their own shipment, pkg arrived friday 8/21.
I spent WAY to much to get this to finish a build about 5x what it cost @ newegg where this item was out of stock. This review was modified by its author, snarf1777, on

UPDATE: Buy.com corrected the issue I had with customer service. As I stated in my original review I am a long time Buy.com customer. They did more than was needed to correct this issue. They were courteous and prompt in the email exchanges. That is all anyone can ask. Thanks, I appreciate the effort and result. When I placed this order, the website told me that the product was in stock and ready to order. Two days later, I receive an email telling me that my order has been back-ordered. This company is another example of internet crooks who take your order, knowing full well that they don't even stock the product. They take your order, then scramble to find someone that they can order the product from, then hope that the customer doesn't want to go through the hassle of cancelling and ordering the product elsewhere. I will never, ever, order another thing from these crooks.
Added 8/23/09 - Although Buy.com has replied, to my earlier posting, that they have contacted me to try and resolve this issue, they have only sent me "canned" email, asking me to explain my situation. I did that, the day after I posted my earlier review, and I have still not heard another word from them, other than to fill my inbox with mass quantities of spam, that I neither asked for, nor want. Be prepared, if you deal with this company.... you're going to get nothing that you want, and everything that you don't.
8/25/09 - Received an email today, offering me a $40.00 gift certificate to make me go away. I told Buy.com that to accept their $40.00, I'd have to buy something else from them. I have no inclination to ever do that again. They addressed none of the issues that I raised, like the fact that they go out of their way to hide the fact that they are simply a reseller, they hide their Customer Service phne number from their customers, and they take orders for items that they don't have in stock. Just give him a gift certificate and back to business, as usual.
By the way, their Customer Service phone number is 1-800-800-0800, in case you need it. Their CSR's won't do anything to make you happy, but at least you can reach someone. Good luck! This review was modified by its author, MtMick, on
