I attempted to purchase their refurbished Xbox, but the order was cancelled because the shipping address was an "unconfirmed paypal address"...my office. The email notice of this included a statement that I would be refunded within 24 hours. This was fine - I could simply reorder and send to my house. But, it is now day 5 and I am still waiting. I opened a Paypal dispute to "remind" Buy.com of it's obligation for a refund, with no response and more importantly, no refund.
Update...
After seeing my review, my refund has been processed. Thank you to whomever at buy.com checks Reseller Ratings and your relatively quick action, but I find it absolutely appalling that it takes such a bad review posted online to motivate this company to move.

Item was not packaged in any real packaging but a clear plastic bag. No paper work with product and missing parts. Buy.com was of no help and told me to contact manufacture.
I also ordered a 2 gb sd card that was 45 bucks with 40 rebate. That was a scam, the comapny was just trying to raise cash before filing chap 11. Buy.com sent me a 10 dollar credit but I felt really screwed on paying 35 bucks for a 2 gb sd card.

We have issued the customer an RMA and label to have the item returned for a replacement. Anytime we do not meet or exceed a customers expectation we want to make it right!
Another big disappointment.
I got a refurb flip video camcorder.
I know it's refurb but there are so many scratches all around the device. I hoped maybe there became little better but of course not. I just convinced myself that I'll never buy from buy.com again.

Not happy with recent order - don't think it is buy.com - I think it is their supplier - antonline. Ordered 2 items - recieved one within about 3 days - it has been 15 days and nothing in regards to the second item. Did recieve a shipped confirmation on both items - recieved tracking updates and information on the item that I recieved - NO TRACKING INFORMATION ON SECOND ITEM AT ALL. Antonline has not been helpful at all - not a happy customer. Will change or update my review if I can get ANY response from either buy.com or antonline. So for both have not been helpful - but they had no problem taking my money!
10/19/2009. Buy.com helped me with their supplier Antonline. I was notified that I will receive a refund for my item that I did not receive. I have not received it yet, but I know it will take a few days. I did not ask for a refund, but Buy.com was pro active and issued the refund. I really would have prefered to get what I ordered, but thank you Buy.com. Antonline was to date not helpful until Buy.com got involved. I went ahead and re-ordered the same product from another supplier. Let's see what happens this time. Will keep all posted. I hate to say it, but I will pay more for something before I purchase from Antonline again.

I have ordered from buy.com several years now. I give them 90% of my on-line shopping. With outstanding customer service and prompt shipping, I could not ask for a better place.
Buy.com came a long way. where it is not in their control to make sure that the right product is shipped, shipped properly and met the shipping deadline. they do their best to take care of any problem I encounter. I will do business with them.
Placed 2 items which advertised FREE SHIPPING in the cart. Got called away from the PC then came back and Checked out. Then it hit me 15 mins. later that I remembered those particular items had Free shipping and there were shipping charges on the invoice. Not all items have free shipping of course. Going back to the item pages indeed they are advertised as having Free shipping but during the checkout process another shipping method is selected by default (3-5 days) versus a *budget* selection of (5-7 days) which isn't selected by default. Searching through their site I read budget shipping is the Free method. The Free shipping method is NOT selected by default but the method that has a handling charge is. Oh how clever I thought. Since these unscrupulous methods of padding the bottom line piss me off, I immediately tried to cancel the order. However, there was no way to do this. I immediately emailed that I was angry with the switch in shipping and that I wanted my order canceled and instructed my bank to dispute the charge, which they did. Buy.com ignored my cancel request and shipped the items anyway even for items that didn't ship till the next day (I ordered in the morning). They refuse to pay for return shipping of these unopened items. They did eventually credit me the shipping charges saying they'd do me this favor this one time, but I would have been happy with the budget shipping and not all the drama in the first place.
Obviously companies do this hoping customers don't remember purchase details, just give up or are satisfied with being compensated after having been caught being a little deceptive. I just want my money back with no further spent time or money.
I do not patronize such places that do things like this and I would suggest if you do, watch out for things like this.
UPDATE 10/19/09
Thanks to reseller ratings the vendor issued me a return label. The two items were returned promptly. The order was $123.82 dollars. I just received an email stating I will be getting a refund of $16.76.

In March 2009, I complained to Buy.com about the Buy.com website. If I check for the tracking number of my purchases, I go to MyAccount and inside MyAccount there is a button named tracking number. However, the tracking number button was not hard-wired any tracking number. Instead tracking number button was hard wired to send my credit card number to TLG Great Fun. As a result, the TLG Great Fun charged my credit card many times for 7 months.
I was able to reverse some of the TLG Great Fun charges except two made in March 2009 for total of $19.99.
When I complained in Mar 2009, the Buy.com reply should have warned about the TLG Great Fun charges but they did not.
Buy.com should at least refund the money I lost to TLG Great Fun.
I have all receipts.

I basically ignored the negative reviews on this site and went ahead and tried buy.com to order a TV and a 5.1 surround sound system. The low prices was too hard to turn down.
I received my order confirmation instantly, and the shipping information was emailed to me the next day. The following day, the package was in the shipment system. The freight company contacted me a few days later to set up a delivery time (4 days ahead of estimated!)
The tv arrived, perfect condition.
The 5.1 system was shipped via FedEx, and I had no problems with them either. The shipment info emailed the day after the order was placed, and the following day the package was in the shipment system as well.
I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews for buy.com, but I had a great experience without any hiccups!
I would recommend buy.com even for large ticket items, as I see no reason why to pay more at other vendors.

They stonewalled my efforts to report non-delivery within the time promised at purchase, and to resolve the missing shipment in a timely fashion. I have been forced to file a claim through PayPal and at this time it is not clear if I will receive a refund despite non-delivery of the product. My correspondence has remained polite and respectful, despite receiving the same form letter multiple times. My advice is avoid this etailer as their low pricing is made possible by unresponsive sales support and non-delivery of orders. On average I make 100 online purchases in a year, I have received better and more engaged support and order resolution from every other online store I have used.
The responses found here in Resellerratings.com from Buy.com about "Customer satisfaction is our #1 priority" run counter to my experience; and the identical email messages I have received from "Homer" and "Kristte" in their customer support department clearly demonstrate that late or non-delivery complaints are common enough to require such a form letter. Even the responses here from buyC65629 from Buy.com are identical and indicate no resolution to the complaints and problem orders.
UPDATE on October 7 I received a form-letter style email from Buy.com promising me a refund within one to two days. Guess what, I still have not received my refund, nor has the mysteriously missing package ever shown up.
I did get an email from buyC65629 asking me about my order, interestingly it has the only active return address of any of the customer service correspondence. Buy.com may have "approved" a refund, but they have not come through with it.

F this place I bought a honeywell 17005 air purifier what looked like the best price online 109.00 plus free shipping looked great. Well let me tell you. They supposedly price match and guarantee the lowest price I found the same exact item on ikitchen.com after I paid them and it was listed for 67.50 I called after 3 peeps and bull@@@@ they told me they only price match with certain vendors wtf is that. OH ok I want to sell you something and tell you I will guarantee the lowest price! Yet I will pick the other highest vendors and say OH I have the lowest price! Well guess what I purchased the item with a capital one credit card(platinum) and guess all that interest I've paid over the years paid off this once. They totally agreed and will be placing them on fraud alert and be reversing the charge. F them don't buy from a company that even when you call them the 1st thing you hear is "We price match and guarantee the lowest price. Great way to lose trust in someone that has never bought online and never will again.************* Post note how dare they post after my comment and say that they are trying to contact me blatant lie, you want to get ripped off from a company that lies and dosent honor there guarantee go right ahead, not only is it cheaper on ikitchen, it also is on amazon which is one of there so called approved price match vendors. I have had absolutely no issues with Buy.com, so I wonder about all the negative reviews. Are they from orders placed with marketplace vendors who list on Buy.com? When I order directly from Buy.com, I never have issues, and the product is always received in good working condition. I've yet to need to return anything. I will continue to buy from these guys. Their deals are great.
I tried buying a laptop from this online store. On the order tracking it says it would ship in 2-3 business days. Its already been 8 days(6 business days). Every time except once I email the customer support the emails get ignored. I emailed them 8 times(edit* Make that 9 times) already and only got a response once saying that they will contact me back in 24 hours(non automated and this was a few days ago). I am extremely frustrated at this company because I'm losing time where I can buy one elsewhere instead of get stuck here wondering if they will ever ship out, cancel, or charge me for the order. Truly the last time I will order from them and I would not recommend them at all. A nightmare come true.

They emailed me twice after this review. One was a we will update you in 24 hours(that 24h passed with no response). The second was another automated response which asked for my greviences about the situation. More days passed and my order still says processing and no human responses. Seriously, how hard is it to tell a customer if the order is going to be shipped or cancelled? Holding up a person's bank account without reason is not professional at all. Is there a way to take action from a third party?
