I was very dissatisfied with the way my order was handled- so much so that I'd never order from "Crucial" again. I chose my "PayPal" account to pay with which has my US apartment as my delivery address- instead of which "Crucial" chose to send the order to my Canadian address with the result I ended up paying for brokerage+ Canadian Sales tax. On an order of about $48 this ADDED another $19 to the total I paid! I certainly won't buy from them again with their total disregard of my instructions for delivery.
Very angry!

Crucial needs to get its shipping act together.
I received an email on the 22nd saying the order was shipped. AS of today (29th) the shipper (UPS) has no record of the shipment.
Unless this is resolved I will not work with this company (Crucial) again.

This was one of the worst online experiences that I have EVER had... it was difficult to navigate the system to find the product that I needed. I paid for 2 day express shipping & I received it 5 DAYS later! When I called about it the woman was very snotty, having TOTAL disreagard for CUSTOMER SERVICE... talking to me like I was STUPID. Customer service is what companies shold be based on... we- as customers- pay your bills...
I doubt that I will EVER use your company again.... I would rather pay MORE money to go to a computer store, than to deal with this company... It is too bad too, because your prices are great.

I am very disappointed in the customer service. I received conflicting information from the online chat and the telephone Operator. I have a Macbook 2.0 Core 2 Duo and was informed that I could purchase and install 4 GB, where the macbook would read 3GB. The telephone support, when they did finally answer, stated that it wouldn't work... NOt impressed with the delay in communication or the lack of consistent information. I would strongly discourage anyone from ordering from Crucial. Spend the extra money and avoid the headaches to go to a store or a more customer friendly online vendor. The telephone support was very smug and acted arrogant on the phone. I just kept my purchase rather than dealing with more needless headache from an unreliable company. Thank God I only spent $36 for 2GB of memory and chose to go elsewhere for the Flash drive

How come my review is not posted....Not really fair...hmm you guys select only +ve reviews huh....Crucial was worst in customer services as the reps don't really know what to answer in some scenarios.
I ordered memory and already got it shipped to my USPS p.o.box first and then now in a different order they said they can't deliver to p.o.boxes. Did somebody made a mistake then, why not now? Very inconvenient. and they canceled my order with out letting me know. When i called, it is already canceled. Not fair.

Product was fine. Policy of charging $5 extra to send to a deployed soldier in Iraq is deplorable. If they have any "Support The Troops" stickers or banners displayed in their offices, they need to come down.

I placed an order with crucial about a week ago. I went online today to check the status of my order and found an email from crucial saying "Due to a security check, your order is currently on hold. We will need additional verification before we can ship your order. To expedite shipping, please fax a current utility statement that can verify your billing address. Upon our receipt and review of the required verification, we will release your order. Please contact us before 3-26-2009 or your order may be canceled."
THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!! first, my utility bills are none of Crucial.com's buisness. Secondly, it would have been great if crucial called me to explain the delay in my order. I have ordered products online COUNTLESS TIMES, and have never had an order held for a "security check." Needless to say, I will never order from them again and I would recommend that, if you need you order in a timely fashion, you shop elsewhere.

I only have two positive things to say about my Crucial order of 6pcs of PC3200 DDR 1GB RAM. The RAM is top quality and the processing and shipping was fast. However, the price is exorbitant, about $45 for each GB compared to $13 for 1GB of PC26400 DDR2 RAM. Plus, it went up $15 a stick in the last 2 months! Right when everybody is losing their jobs and the economy is in the craphouse! Also, they double-shipped and double billed me and I had to pay $8 to ship half of it back. That's because their web ordering has a glitch in it. I placed the order once and got a notice that my credit card was rejected. So I placed the order again with a different credit card, (as instructed) which was accepted. Then I got billed for and sent both orders of the same RAM with billing to the two cards, one order on the "rejected" and one order on the approved one! So I paid throught the nose for the RAM to begin with and had to pay $8 dollars to send it back in a box via insured mail. In past years, new RAM has always been the most expensive. Why is it the opposite now? Because the entire PC industry is bent on conniving everyone into buying new PCs, not upgrading. They are aware that my 6-year old 3.4 ghz P4 machine with 2-4 GB of RAM installed will perform as well as the new dual core PCs and they want to discourage such upgrades because they want to sell new machines instead.

Crucial was very fast when shipping my order. I received the package two days before my expected delivery date. The memory upgrade was very easy to install and was competitively priced.

I was extremely disappointed with the performance on this order, having received good service on past orders. I placed my order on the morning of the 7th, which was $50+ for two pieces and I payed for express shipping, expecting to have the product for the weekend in order to complete a project. It finally arrived at 11:00AM on the 13th. On Monday the 12 I had waited 20 minutes for a "live Chat" with a CSR who was unhelpful to say the least. The mere fact of paying additional shipping should flag that someone needs the product quickly.
The product works fine but I am very disappointed with this shipping experience and no apologies.

I needed memory for my office because we decided to upgrade our computers rather than replacing them. I needed the memory as soon as possible so that I can test the compatibility for before placing my order for the rest of the computers. Our goal was to place the larger order before December 31st so that we can take the income tax expense for these orders in 2008.
This was the fourth time that I placed this same "test" order. In each case the order was automatically cancelled because the web order form submitted a request for payment to PayPal for a dollar amount that I approved and then Crucial changed the amount the next day because it forgot to add in the sales tax. In the third order, tax was included but Crucial claimed that they forgot to include the tax on the shipping costs. I was told that the problem had to do with calculating my state sales tax based upon my zip code. I asked them why don't you calculate state sales tax based on state code "NJ"?
On my fourth attempt I used my personal credit account rather than the PayPal account that was linked to my business checking account. For my continued troubles, my fourth order was sent with free Saturday delivery which arrived late on Monday. This review was modified by its author, dan1129, on

I will never EVER buy from Crucial again. I was a returning customer to buy some RAM. I placed a rather small order (2x1gb DIMMs) using the same credit card I had used months before. Approximately 30 hours after I had placed my order, I received an email stating that "Due to a security check, your order is currently on hold." .. They wanted my to *fax* my card billing statement to them. Firstly, I have never ever heard of such a thing before in all the times I've ordered online - I have no hold of any kind from my bank - I've used the card before and since several times with no hassle. Secondly, I wouldn't even know where to get hold of a fax machine (people still fax?). Thirdly, they *have* my phone number. and fourthly, why on earth did a "security check" take more than a day? .. I emailed them back and said that I thought the request was absurd and that since they'd already delayed my shipment by more than a day, they could overnight it to me at no additional cost or that they would lose me as a customer. They then canceled the order without even an email to say something along the lines of, "Sorry for the misunderstanding, but we have to do the 'security checks' for such-and-such reasons." ... Nothing ... so ... from now on I will recommend that people order from places a bit more friendly and concerned about the customer. I will never give Crucial another dollar.

This company has gone down hill. First off there product and ease of finding memoryon the web is exclent. I have been using them for years and never had an issue, the orders use to be fast and correct every time. Untill my last 3 orders! Not I get charged tax in NJ which is fine but the product takes 10+ days to get here. If I am being taxed in NJ which I am fine with ship out of NJ or close. I use to get 2 day shipping free no more the free option is 7-10 days if you are lucky you get it in 10. Also they waite several days before they send it. Last time they didn't send it till 5 days after I ordered it, that is redulicous there warehouse needs help I think they are purposely delaying the orders to try to get you to upgrade shipping to increase there profit. Over all the product is still fine but it can be had cheaper else where.

I purchased some Ballistix 1066 ram 2 x 1gb kit. They failed within a weeks time. RMA'd and received my replacement 2 weeks later and they were DOA. RMA's these and they cross shipped. Received the replacements within a week they failed. I Requesting a RMA and they responded by saying that they suggested to downgrade me because I'm not Overclocking. I informed them that I shouldn't be penalized because they have faulty ram. I informed them that I ran Mushkin memory for 6 months without issues and while my Ram was being RMA I put the Mushkin ram back into my system, and ran fine without failing. Now they are telling me it's my system and again I informed them that other manufactures ram runs fine and doesn't fail. I'm currently running OCZ Reapers ram and have been doing so for almost 2 weeks and this ram hasn't failed. The ballistix have a high fail rate and crucial not owning up to that. I visit a lot of hardware website and I've read some people are on their 6th RMA with crucial. I'm at the point where I'm getting a run around from crucial. They are dragging their feet. A request for a RMA shouldn't take 3 weeks. This review was modified by its author, Sinster, on

The Crucial Memory Advisor™ tool window had no way to navigate around in it. The size of my text pushed the third box out of the window and did not respond with the return/enter key at all.
When I found away to click on iMac 2.4GHz (20-inch) it took me to some old obsolete PC2-5300 Ram. I had to find what my machine needed on the OWC site. Search on it in Crucial to find and order the correct PC2-6400 800MHz Memory. The Crucial site did not offer it; I had to find it on my own. If I did not have the time to waste tonight I would have ordered on Owc.
The order form does not make it clear that I ordered the PC2-6400 800MHz Memory. It just shows 4GB kit (2GBx2), 200-pin SODIMM. It could be any speed, like the lame closeout they are trying to push on me. If they screw it up I will order elsewhere.
