I have had nothing but very good experiences with Deals Direct. I receive fair offers on my tradeins and excellent after sales support. I had purchased an ASUS A7V8X-X mobo and installed it to find that it would not post at the supported 333FSB. I phoned Mike and within the hour had a new A7V8X mobo-the top of the line one-no hassles, no fuss. I have been dealing with them for 4 years, having bought Win98SE OEM from them as my first OS, and they are now my main source of quality computer components at a good price. They have really taken the highend components stocking and support seriously.

after reading some of the other reviews I felt I need to post my own , I bought my computer in January of 2002, and there was a problem with the stability of the system I contacted deals direct and talk to Alan he tried walking me through a few test to determine what the problem might be , after formating the drive and reinsalling my OS the problem still continued. I don't live in the city of Ottawa so Alan asked me to ship it back to be worked on and that they would ship it back after it had been fixed. I informed Alan that I would be in Ottawa the following weekend and he offered to build me a new computer with the same configuration and I could just bring in the one I had purchased and he would exchange it for the new one. I have had my new computer for over a year without any issues. So thanks to Al and the rest of the great staff at deals direct for going out of there way to help me out

For the past few years, I purchase several computers (two for me, one for my brother and one for my sister) without any complications. I also bought individual components (video cards, memory, hard drives, network cards, CPUs, motherboards) also without any complications. Recently, I bought a ViewSonic P225fb monitor (special order) - Even if it took a bit longer than expected (supplier problems) Damon Inlow has kept me well informed about the shipping status...  
 
I'm sorry to hear that some people had some difficulties with this company, for me, I can't think of any other place where I would want to buy computers / computer components...

I've been using computers for my pro commercial recording studio for the last 3 years.ALL of my parts come from Dealsdirect.ca and they are just flawless!!Never had a problem and the shipping is quite fast.  
Also , whenever I had diffculties installing a given part , they were quick at sending me replies and good advice!  
 
More power to them!!!!

I recently ordered an LG CD-R/DVD combo drive and a SoundBlaster Audigy Card from Deals Direct online and found the experience a nice change from the other local computer stores. The prices were fair, and the staff was friendly and prompt. In fact, my order was processed and shipped the same day and I got my order in 24hours.  
 
All this without leaving my house, dealing with the hassle of parking or having sales reps sell me something I don't need.  
 
They initially had a problem processing my CC# but the on-line guy got back to me in time for the order to ship.  
 
Only a small thing that they could change. In my opinion the packaging was pretty excessive. The drive and card arrived in a massive box 6-7x the size of the stuff and filled to the brim with styrofoam peanuts.  
 
Overall though, I'm very satisfied and will be ordering again.

Deals Direct was able to price-match an item of great interest me, and even drop the price a bit further than the local average. Overall, the purchase of the DVD-RW drive was professionally carried out, staff were knowledgable and forthright, and even provided a 2nd receipt for tax purposes. Deals lately has been carrying a lot of the best goods out there, and it's nice to have people that care about pre and post-purchase clients. I will no hesitate to recommend them to family and friends.

DealsDirect have contacted me regarding my concern of the ram prices going down substantially before the ram was shipped to me. They have adjusted the cost to reflect the new prices and have reimbursed me the difference without issue. It appears to be an email problem that caused the no response to my initial contact hich has now been resolved. The service from DealsDirect is excellent and I have no reservations in recommending them.

It did take awhile for me to get my pc and it took a few nasty emails as well (to be fair it was in the midst of the NYC world trade collapse, so things were definitely crazy at this time). But all in all I'm pretty happy, the prices are definitely right.  
I understand that they have re-organized a bit and that is well needed, I get the impression they just dont have enough staff.  
My only real complaint with the system I bought was that the video card was not fully inserted into the motherboard and did not function when I got it, this is strange because they put a sticker across the case that breaks when you open the case to indicate your warranty with them is now null and void. But to fix the video card problem I had to break the seal. Also, they claim to test the machines but it couldnt test to well with the video card not properly inserted! Pretty minor stuff.  
But I'd buy from them again for sure. I'm happy with my machine, if your not familiar with parts of a pc and arent confident in taking things out and troubleshooting a pc yourself I'd shop somewhere else.

Just got a 0.01$ credit to my card. One thing you can say about this company is that they will resolve the issues you have with them.

Just checked my credit card balance, received a refund of 20.00$ apparently for my shipping costs.  
Hadn't emailed them again, so this must have come from this company reading this page.  
They still owe me a penny.  
Not going to complain, I do appreciate that they put the situation to right, when they could have just left it and never heard about it again. I will reconsider purchasing parts from dealsdirect in the future.

I ordered from these guys in the beginning of December of 2002, a pc. The PC was ordered with express shipping, and took until the last week of December to arrive. When it finally did arrive, the fan had come lose from the motherboard and had been bashing about until it got to me.  
I called them, and informed them that this was for a christmas present, and they told me that in order to ship me out a replacement immediatly, they'd have to bill me for a second pc! Fine, I agreed, and they told me it would arrive within two days. I was told to ship the PC back AT MY OWN EXPENSE! with insurance! , and that they would cover 15$ of the shipping cost.  
Regular mail with insurance and the delivery confirmation they insisted upon came to $20.01.  
Fine, I sent it back.  
Later that day, I found a local store that was willing to price match, and had me a pc within two hours. I called deals direct back, and informed them that they should cancel the order.  
I was never charged for the new pc, however, the refund took well into the middle of january, and when I called them back, they told me that my new pc should be arriving any day now. I told them that I had cancelled the order, and they insisted that I hadn't. Finally they agreed to cancel the order, and I asked for a refund. The refund was granted, and I was told to expect it in another 10! days.  
The CSR refused to refund my shipping costs, which I was promised, and refused to let me speak to anyone who could refund it. He told me the only way to have this refunded would be to email their shipping department. Assuming this pc had been for me, that might have been a bit difficult, huh?  
 
I emailed the shipping department, and never recieved a refund of my 20.01$  
No answer either. I highly recommend that everyone think twice before ordering from these people.

I placed an order on Monday 11/25/02 for some power supplies and harddrives. All items showed "regular stock".  
 
Sent an email on Friday to find out why the order hadn't shipped. Received a quick response (this is good) indicating the hard drives I had ordered were backordered. So much for regular stock.  
 
On Monday I asked them to split the shipment and send whatever was in stock. Those items finally shipped Wednesday. 1.5 weeks later then I expected.  
 
Tuesday I was informed the price of the backordered HDs changed from $294.75 to $419.95. I asked the sales team to cancel the order which they did without issue.  
 
Friday, a full two weeks after placing the original order the partial shipment arrived.  
 
Everything was well packed - no complaints there.  
 
Overall, the sales department was responsive to email inquiries and very professional - no complaints there either.  
 
However, if you are in a hurry and are placing orders based on cost + in-stock status, don't trust the website content.  
 
I'm still rather irritated about the Hard Drive situation and the slow shipping speed. If not for the sales teams performance they'd be getting a dismal rating.

This company is absolutely hopeless. They've promised a estimated delivery time of 1 business day in Sydney on their website - http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/helpcentre/ . It turned up that today I had to do my OWN investigation just to find out it was lost in the mail.  
And it will taker another 7-10 days for the investigation results. I should've bought else where like OO.com.au that promises and delivers.  
It will take all up around 14-17 days to get my goods...worthless....should've bought at a normal shop.  
The customer service is not behind. They are rude and cannot be bothered with your case. They will close the case as SOLVED without any resolution. And mind you, they will not give their phone number away. You have to chat online or talk to them thru a ridiculous Questions and Updated menus. terrible customer service, delivery system and they cannot look after a customer after they paid them....  
 
Definetely sho elsewhere.
