After promises of replacement for defective parts they never materialized. Got RMA numbers but no item was ever replaced to use the RMA numbers for returns. Had to sell the unit due to lack of support. Unfortunately someone else will have to deal with the terrible support and lack of response to problems...

Okay, I've decided. HPC is by far the worst Customer Service I have ever dealt with.

In early May, I ordered the GX6. I put a guaranteed 10-day delivery on it (paying extra). After the promised delivery date, I decided to finally call them. They informed me that it was not yet ready because they were "testing" it. I figured that things happen, and I was okay with that, but I told them I got the rush because I really needed it by a certain date.

Well, they got really close to that date, and after many calls to their customer service, they finally said they would ship it off, and they rush delivered it no charge (no complaints there).

When I got it, I thought the presentation was nice and it performed well with all of the normal desktop programs. The screen res was awesome, and the speed was comparable to a high-end desktop.

Everything was fine until I started installing the games. I was having all kind of performance issues and texture anomalies.

I called them, dealt with tech support for over 3 weeks (because I never go call backs when promised, and I had to re-explain the problem about 10 times). They had me do all these remedies in which none of them provided results. Finally, they said they'd give me an RMA by the end of the day. I had to call them twice and 4 days later I got them to finally send me one. I just recently got the same laptop back. Same problem as when I shipped it. Good job guys. I so badly would love to just get my money back at this point.

To sum it up, if you like to make frequent calls to customer service, and follow up daily just to get any answers, and you don't mind being out a computer for weeks at a time, Go Hypersonic...

I ordered a Hercules Game Theater XP sound card, which Hypersonic's website showed as being in stock. After a small problem with my billing address (not Hypersonic's fault), I was told the card would "may ship out Friday, but we close early on Fridays... so if it doesn't, it'll ship on Monday." Fair enough. Monday, I get no shipping notice. Wednesday, the product hasn't arrived.

So I call, and they tell me the item was out of stock, but it's shipping that night. I'll again take them at their word. Having paid for 2-day shipping, it hasn't arrived by following Monday, and I have no tracking number, so I call again (bear in mind their secure website, for tracking orders, didn't function for three or four days.) I was hung up on once, and called again. Now it looks like it "shipped out last Friday," and it should arrive tomorrow. Here it is tomorrow (Tuesday), and, at nearly 6pm eastern time, I have a shipping confirmation.

I won't be ordering from Hypersonic again; if it's out of stock, just tell me. If it's delayed for some reason, tell me. Just don't jerk me around, which is exactly what went on here.

I have not yet received my computer, but I'm sure that when I do it will be wonderful. It's not hard to put together a computer, so when choosing a company, I'm looking for the extras--in this case, the small-form factor and Hypersonic's slick paint jobs.

However, I am extremely displeased with my Hypersonic experience and would not recommend the company to others. I placed an order on Jan. 29, and Hypersonic informed me that it would ship on Feb. 16. I was happy to hear that, but by Feb. 19, no computer had shipped so I decided to give them a call. I was told that the paint facility had been closed because of the winter storms, and that is certainly reasonable. The saleswomen explained my computer would arrive early next week at the latest. Alas, early next week, it did not show up. Keep in mind that they have already deposited my check weeks ago.

On Wednesday of the next week, I call again, and this time I am again told of the "4 day paint delay" caused by weather as well as "heat issues" with the Radeon video card. I tell him that I need the computer for a LAN party this weekend, and he says he will try to upgrade the shipping to get it there.

Of course, by Friday, it hasn't even shipped yet. I called again today (Monday), and am now told the computer will ship TOMORROW! They blamed bad spray nozzles delayed the paint process. Well that's a new one. This company advertised 18-day build times, and now it has been over 30! The four-day paint shop closing should only delay shipment 4 days--not two weeks. And the "nozzle" problem is clearly their fault, and even now they refuse to upgrade my shipping to compensate for the 2 week delay and $200 price drop.

I heard great stories about the customer service at Hypersonic, so I really expected more when my order became so badly delayed. Toss in a mouse pad, offer free shipping or at least UPGRADE the shipping! While the staff was never outright rude, they have obviously been dishonest and have made no attempts to remedy the problem. It is disgusting when you pay $2500+ for a computer and then you are treated so poorly. I'm still considering canceling the order and getting my money back, because Hypersonic hasn't done anything to earn it.

I purchased a $4000 Aviator EX7 from Hypersonic. Here is an accurate summary of my experience with Hypersonic-PC

1. There was about a 2 week delay beyond the stated release date.

2. I had a few dead pixels and returned item , Hypersonic gladly replaced the screen (Kudos Hyeprsonic)

3. My laptop battery died within a few months. the laptop would work if plugged in, but the battery would NOT hold a charge 0%. After several emails, Hypersonic finally replaced the battery, however, it was not the same color (black) as the laptop I purchased (blue). Not a huge deal, since it was on the bottom (hypersonic gets a pass on this one)

4. Now, this replacement battery also dies about 9 months later... same issue, CPU works if plugged in, but the battery has a 0% charge. And I was vigilant on optomizing and tuning my battery after the first experience. the issue is extremely frustrating as if LAPTOP comes unplugged, it immediately shuts off, losing whatever work you had going on there.

now here's what it takes a turn for the worse...

5. ive written to Hypersonic AT LEAST 4-5 emails about the batter issue, over the last 30 days. I received ONE reply stating the battery warranty was something like 1 year.... and that I had to purchase another battery... (*** Why should I pay $200 for the SAME battery that will die like the previous 2?).... anyway, I replied back saying something like "well this is the 2nd battery to go bd in 18 months, so i think there is a clear battery issue you know about, and should honor a replacement for the second defective battery". That was about 10 days ago, and I STILL have not received a reply... so I still have a battery issue with my $4000 laptop from Hypersonic-PC.....

then, a 2nd issue sprung up... I upgraded this same laptop to Microsoft Vista Ultimate, and all of a sudden, my PCMCIA device stopped working. the device is the texas Instruments PCI-1411. None of my PCMCIA devices worked in this laptop after upgrading... I expected issues wtih upgrading to the new OS, so Ive tried trouble shooting this issue for 2 weeks now with Microsoft, and nothing has worked. ive contacted texas Instruments who avised they dont provide driver support. So logically, I contacted Hypersonic about THIS issue... assuming they ship laptops with Microsot Vista AND with the PCI-1411, they have a good driver that works. I contacted them about the driver issue about a week ago and have heard NOTHING. I wrote them again today and will wait to see what happens. I stumbled across this website and felt compelled to tell my Hypersonic story. They seem like a good company, but can't figure out how to provide adequate support to lucrative customers who buy high end laptops, and the customers who merely buy their t-shirts or whatever.

I'm an FBI Agent who investigates cyber crimes and I rely on high end laptops to help with malware analysis that I do, among other things. Im a pretty technical person, so Im not some fluke customer who just has an axe to grind. I couldnt be more honest and accurate in my comments here...

Hopefully managemnt over there checks in with this site to get honest evaluatins about how their company is doing.

if Hypersonic resolves the issue and finally provides support, I will update this thread with a very positive outcome. stay tuned

Today is February 20th, and I sent 2-3 more help requests. I have NOT received any response. this is how they treat custoemrs who buy thier $4000 computers.

Today is March 1st, I submitted the same help request a few days ago, and was still ignored. I truly regret spending $4000 on a computer from this company.

The entire wait process of ordering this computer was long, and tedious. It said 7-14 business days, and when I called about order statuses, week after week I was delayed. They never informed me of delays unless I called, and for a laptop that was supposed to arrive before Xmas as a present, it arrived 3 days after Xmas (I had to frantically call in myself for the tracking number).

When HP delayed my computer, they gave me free overnight shipping and a 100 dollar refund (for their 2 week delay). Hypersonic was supposed to ship my unit 12/8, and shipped it 12/27; and for that, they offered me a laptop bag which they didnt even bother to ship in the end. I can't find words for the entire ordering process or about being put on hold for 40 minutes with customer service "checking my status", or the complete apathetic attitude from their customer service.

As for the laptop itself, everything seems to work at this time except for the occasional sudden turning off by itself. However, I'm going to try to live with that for now.

All in all, I think their product is solid, if you are prepared to have a huge amount of patience to wait a very very long time. If you, like me, are accustomed to efficiency and punctuality, if you expect that the company cares about the customer's feelings or needs, then you might be disappointed. This is the first time that I ordered a computer/laptop from a smaller company that wasnt Dell or Sony or HP thinking I'd give them a chance. I figured smaller companies would care more about their customers. Big mistake.

The computer's a few days old. I will update further if other complications occur.

I will not deal with this company again. They were always from the start extremely rude on phone.

The support line gave me the run around because my support number was not associated with any invoice.

Unresponsive to my emails, I was waiting more than 2 weeks for a response on more that one occasion.

Overall for the whole experience with Hypersonic was very disappointing, nothing like I thought it would be.

I have stopped using them and will seek a better company to supply high quality PC’s.

I could go on.. But it’s nothing that hasn't been said by the other dissatisfied customers below this post.

I purchased an Aviator CX7, which shipped two weeks later. The laptop works well and I'm very satisfied with it so far. However, I'm rather disappointed in Hypersonic technical support. Emails are replied to very slowly. Sometimes, they don't even care to reply. Moreover, when they suggest to call you back, they actually never call you back. Generally speaking, they will not get back to you, even if you have a serious problem and they promised to get back to you as soon as possible. As a customer, it's rather frustrating to have to call them up continuously in order to have a problem solved. Another thing which suprised me is the fact that the driver database of my laptop contains wrong drivers. Some drivers actually link to another laptop database, which has different hardware installed. I pointed out this obvious mistake to technical support and they assured me they would address that issue. That was two weeks ago and, guess what, nothing has been done yet.

All in all, I would say they make good products. However, once the product is sold, they don't seem to be willing to follow through on their responsibilities to customers. Therefore, I would only advise you to purchase from Hypersonic if you are a computer expert and you can solve all your poblems by yourself. If it is not the case, you might find yourself wasting a lot of time with a customer support service who doesn't really care about their customers.

With all due respect, the comments posted here are factually incorrect This order was in fact shipped on schedule. You placed the order on February 1st and paid for this order on February 6th. We shipped the laptop on Febrary 14th which is well within the quoted turnaround time was 7-10 days. Turnaround times for our systems are posted on the website and orders can be tracked by logging in your account via our website. Customer service e-mailed you twice with order status and e-mailed you the UPS tracking number when the order shipped. According to the UPS tracking information, the laptop was delivered on February 17th via International Expedited shipping.

Hypersonic cares very much about each and everyone of our customers. We answer all inquiries throughly and always answer emails within 2 hours during the business day. Outside business hours, email inquiries are answered in by the next business day (though we do maintain 24/7 technical support. All the drivers for the Aviator CX7 on our website are up-to-date. Our records indicate all the technical questions raised by this customer have been answered and his Hypersonic laptop is functioning properly. You called in on March 3rd and March 15th to speak to Technical Support. Our records indicate that all of your questions were answered. We encourage you to call us if you have any questions about your laptop. We would be happy to assist you.

Im a 3d modeling student at ucf, and the major requires all students to have laptops, pretty beefy ones in fact. I had an alienware before, was nice did me well, till my apartment got broken into and it had to be replaced. When i had ordered the alienware id been looking for the amd 64 x2 in a laptop, but no one had it yet. So when i had to replace it and i saw that hypersonic had one, and offered accidental damage protection i was excited. Ordered the system, the page told me it would ship usually ship before 28 days had past. I was happy, that ment i would have all christmas break to get it all setup before i went back to school. First ship date was listyed as november 28th, but when i checked on the 25th it had been changed to the 15th of december. Kinda bummed me out but for such i sweet laptop ok. Around this time alienware started offering the same laptop, but it was more expensive and didnt offer accidental damage so i was still happy. Some time around the 1st of december the shipping date was changed to dec. 23 and i was like its ok itll still hopefully be here for christmas, since it was part christmas presant too. December 23 allison B. calls to let me know that it wont ship till the 28th, in all the shipping date changes this is the first time ive actually recieved a phone call. Needless to say im frustrated by this point. School starts Jan 8th, i am running out of time. My mom calls Dec. 27th to ask that we be upgraded to overnight shipping for free, which they had aready done, props to them for that, and allison assures us, yes it will def. ship the 28th, or the 29th. Today, Dec 28th i go online to check if it has shipped and the date has now been changed to the 3rd of january. i call Allison and she tells me she is really confident it will ship the 3rd, but unfortunately i dont have any faith in allisons confidence anymore. The company also never called me to update me on this new developement. This is really pushing it, if the system delays again or doesnt work on arrival im screwed. i ordered it thinking id have a month to sort out any issues, but now its even to late to cancel the order and order somewhere else. And allison just dosent seem to care that its really important. I post an update on weather or not it works if it ever gets here.

All customers who purchased Aviator FX7s at the time of your order (November 2005), were made aware that Aviator FX7s were being sold as PRE-ORDER and were subject to an indefinite ship date. All orders for Aviator FX7s were pre-orders until December. Customer service diligently e-mails and calls customers to make them aware that their order is delayed and provides real-time estimates. We apologize for the delay and any inconvenience it may have caused. We recognize that a notebook is sometimes crucial equipement for college students. Hypersonic upgraded your shipping to overnight at no charge and included a Targus Backpack as a gift.

I ordered a laptop from Hypersonic about 6 weeks ago because I wanted one of the new nvidia 7800 mobile graphics cards. I had hoped to get my order in the 10 - 16 days that was originally the estimated shipping time. Well, that didn't happen. After the first 16 days was up, I sent an e-mail asking about the status of my order. I got a reply to my e-mail saying that my order would ship by the end of the week. Well, the end of the week came and went and my order never shipped. This time I called and asked for a status update on the order. I was told that my order was being delayed because of the video card, and would ship at the end of the week, maybe earlier. Well, the end of the week came, and my order didn't ship. I called and asked about its status and was told it would be another week. For job related reasons, I could not afford to wait for my order to ship any longer. I then asked to cancel my order and get my money back. I was told that the order was canceled, and I thought that all was well. Three business days later, I still don't have my money back. I called, and asked why I didn't have my money back, Hypersonic had not canceled my order to offer me a memory upgrade or something. I explained that I no longer wanted the laptop and to please cancel the order and give me my money back. I still do not have my money back, and I am starting to get irritated about this situation.

I do not look at hypersonic too negatively, delays I can understand. If my schedule had permitted I would have like to waited and gotten one of their high end laptops with the video card I wanted. I do wish that they had been a little more realistic when quoting me shipping estimates. It would have also been nice to have been told that my video card would cause the order to be delayed at the time that I placed the order. The issue with having my money returned however, is unacceptable. When I ask to cancel my order, I expect it to be canceled. I have not received my money back after asking twice to have it canceled and I am getting very unhappy about the whole situation.

UPDATE: After calling Hypersonic for a third time, and posting on this site, they finaly returned my money. Hypersonic may make the finest computers in the world, I don't know. As far as I am concerned Hypersonic is not worth the hassle. It is clear that their shipping estimates are complete falsehoods, and that their customer support is in the habit of misleading customers. There are many other places to buy high end compters, so I strongly suggest find somewhere besides Hypersonic to spend your money.

When this order was placed, the New Nvidia 7800 GTX video card was heavily backordered and buyers were made aware that their orders would ship as soon as the video cards became available. Customer service contacts customers via phone and e-mail when the estimated ship date is changed. Hypersonic did offer a generous upgrade since this customer was inconvenienced by the change in the ship date. The billing department processed his refund as soon as you requested it. All cancellations are processed within 24 hours.

Purchasing the laptop was easy due to a well configured site. But the turnaround time was a bit slow, 2 weeks I think, although that is to be expected when building a laptop.

Hypersonic Sonicboom Reflexxion Series (Desktop)

Purchasing:
When I purchased Hypersonic’s flagship computer system, I was generally happy with the product in which I received. I ordered the system with a guarantee from my sales representative that if I purchased the ‘ship within 10 days of order’ feature, that I would have it within the time frame I required the system. Overnight shipping was also added to the order to meet up with my end of the required date. However, upon day of shipment, I inquired if my system was going to ship the day as planned but was told it would not due to technical issues. I’m guessing that they had no plan to inform me that my shipment was delayed. The next business day, I spoke with my sale representative again and we found a way to still get the computer here the same day which would meet my deadline. However, Hypersonic would not pay the difference in shipping to make it on the deadline after they were at fault for missing the deadline in the first place hence the agreed deadline was not met. However, The online sales representative I worked with to order the system did an excellent job to find the exact product I was looking for.

Delivery:
Upon delivery, there were two system components that were not even functional. One, I fixed by flipping a cable and the other was not fixed until one year later after the ship date when I had to ship the system in for repairs due to nature damage. From internal cabling to the Reflexxion series painted case, the systems performance and appearance were excellent.

Service Repair:
During a particular storm, lightning made it through my UPS system and damaged my computer in a way that it would not turn on. I sent the computer back to Hypersonic even though the warranty had expired on my system. It took roughly a week for Hypersonic to even look at my computer once in their possession. When the job was finished, I was not contacted as stated I would be when the system was analyzed. Instead, I had to call several times to find the status on the system. One if the times in which I called, they did not even know where my system was. I was also told that there was a flat fee for labor on the system repair but it ended up being roughly 250% higher for labor than stated, not to mention the system component replaced was marked up about 200%. Time from shipment to delivery on the system was two weeks, excluding a holiday in the middle and shipping times. I can’t even image how the service would have been if it had been warranty work.

Service Repair Delivery:
The state in which I received the system back from service repair was completely unsatisfactory. The system was not re-cabled as I was told it would be, one component of my system was completely left out after reassembly, and another component was nonfunctional. The component that was left out, even though uncritical, was mailed to me another two weeks later and appeared to be a generic version of what was left out. Hypersonic requested that I ship the system back to repair nonfunctional component, also uncritical, which would have taken another two weeks since they would not have paid for express shipping. Therefore, I will repair the component at my own cost.

Overall:
The product quality I received on the original shipment would have been quite excellent had a system component not been properly installed. I would recommend Hypersonic only if you do not mind waiting as system builds and service repairs take an abnormally long time. For mission critical roles, I would not recommend Hypersonic computer systems. Either way, I will never recommend Hypersonic’s technical support department.

This review is for a Fusion EX7 that we purchased in June of 05. The unit is for an engineer who travels regularly. It has been working for us very well for the past three and a half years with only two exceptions.
1. The hard drives did not stay in place and could intermittently disconnect. A bit of tape fixed that problem for good.
2. Recently, the computer would power off randomly, like it became unplugged and would not run off the battery. I sent it in and Brian was able to find and repair the problem.
Unfortunately, he told me personally that he would ship it 2nd day back to our midwestern facility. Just found out that it is shipping ground.
I wanted to give a glowing review, but I'm not able to.
