I write this, so you can be aware of the service that you will be received if the you buy a Hypersonic laptop. I sent on January 9, 2009 my notebook, an Hypersonic Aviator CX7 to replace the motherboard. On March 27, 2009 I paid $485 for the motherboard, $149 Diagnostics / Labor Fee, $59 Freight Charge. When I received the laptop on April 6, 2007, I feel very disappointed with the condition that I received the laptop. First, externally, on January I sent a laptop in like new condition. When I checked the laptop the battery cover was broken, the PC card slot cover was removed, the card reader cover was removed and when I see the card slot I see that the plastic surface that cover it was ripped. The top of the laptop has some scratches and I see that has a missing screw. Second, when I turn on the laptop, the fans are permanently on. In addition, I checked all the invoice and papers that I received when the laptop was repaired; but I do not find any document the warranty in terms of the reparation. I sent several emails to discuss about the problems with the customer representative. After several e mails I received one for customer representative that indicated that he will communicate with his supervisor to report that issue. Also, he said to me that all labor is guaranteed for three months (This means that I had a guarantee until June 27,2009). After several days he indicated that send the laptop to the company to fix all the external problems and check the motherboard again. I paid all the charges to send it again to the company. The laptop was received on May 8, 2009. Again I communicate with the manufacturer to check the repair status and I indicate that call me when they will be sent the laptop to me. On June 9, 2009 (1 month later) I received a phone call where the customer representative indicated that ALL my inquiries about the “cosmetic”condition were resolved and that they checked again the motherboard. On June 15, I received other phone call that said that the laptop will be send this day. I received the laptop on June 16, 2009. When I checked the laptop the ONLY repair that they make were the scratches on the top of the laptop. And now in addition of the battery cover broken, missing plastic covers, fans permanently on, etc. that previously has, now the DVD cover was bend and damaged and scratches on the corners. I communicated immediately again with the customer representative without any response.

Hypersonic EQ7 Brakes After Couple of Months

Spent $4,585 on this machine. It came incomplete. Ordered dual video card and they only sent one. They sent me the second one later. Opened it and it was dusty and used. Couple of months later the whole thing brakes. Won't start. Won't even make a sound.

Hypersonic's answer?

No their problem.

Conclusion - never buy from these guys. They don't know how to build computers and how to run a business.

Warned.

Very disappointed customer

I have had very unsatisfactory experiences with Hypersonic. My computer developed serious problems (blue screen, etc.) and I sent it back to them for repair. The kept it for four months and after they sent it back to me it was still not properly repaired. They said part of the delay was do to ordering a replacement motherboard. When I got it back it still had the same motherboard (they lied). They sent it back with an eight year old operating system, and they added a new raid card without sending me the drivers for the new controller cards. When I received the computer back the metal screen on the front was kicked in and dented. The same problems occurred after I got it back; program crashes, I have to bootup 2-3 times to get it running, blue screen, etc. I spent over $689.00 in repair cost, shipping, etc. and it still does not work. This repair occurred even after the new owners took over Hypersonic. You can not get them by telephone, and they never respond to e-mails. I will never use this company again for anything. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my 20+ years using computers. Please save your money, and time, and go elsewhere for your computer needs.

So here is my saga of Hypersonic-PC:
I place an order for a painted Avaitor SR5 based on price/performance/known history of good customer service. Many of my friends have hypersonic laptops and have had a couple of issues, warranty work was always top notch.

The laptop I ordered was no slouch the specs are below:

# Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT PCI-Express 512MB GDDR2 - Qty: 1

So I was told roughly 1 month for delivery due to the painting process. That is completely acceptable to me. I wait a month and no tracking number so I call them, they assure me it is only a 3 day back order on the screen and it will ship out inside the week, and that it had arrived back at hypersonic-pc. I wait another 10 days and still no tracking number.
At this point im curious but not at all angry yet. I try calling and the old number that is now removed from the website is disconnected. I find a second number on the website and call it. OCZ technology answers, the RAM company. OCZ bought out hypersonic, and they assured me my laptop was going out within the week and the delay was due to the take over.
Again, I understand, not upset at all. Another 2 weeks go by and nothing... I start calling around and all the phone numbers lead to dead ends. To make a long story short, I had to call the VP of marketing and have him personally intervene in order to have my laptop shipped out. Well his date he promised, wednesday before thanksgiving gets missed and I call on monday. It is "burning in" on monday and was promised to be shipped on tuesday. Tuesday I call for my tracking number and spend 1.5 hours trying to get intouch with a human and no one will help, they just run customers around in circles. Turns out it did not ship on Tuesday. Wednesday I drive down to the address to just pick the thing up, and they had just shipped it out. They swear it was going to ship next day delivery and they ship it fedex ground, and then fedex screws up the delivery, 3 times, so still.... no laptop!! After all this they swore up and down, and charged me for overnight delivery then shipped it out Fedex Ground! UNACCEPTABLE!

Hypersonic-pc is not a botique computer builder, they are a company that is buying pre-assembled laptops from somewhere else and re-shipping them from the their PC-power and cooling warehouse. They do NOT assemble them there, your techs on the phone do NOT assemlbe your pc, and they have a small facility. THESE ARE NOT US BUILT LAPTOPS, THEY ARE NO DIFFERENT THAN A DELL!

Customer servic is pure and utter failure, with no consistency, and no help short of calling an OCZ executive.

BUYER BEWARE HYPERSONIC-PC WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN FOR A LONG TIME BEFORE YOU GET ANYTHING IF YOU GET ANYTHING!

UPDATE!!
After speaking with FEDEX I got them to deliver tomorrow (saturday) because FEDEX is a company with some integrity and understand customer service. So the story will end with fedex delivering my laptop 1.5 months late, and me driving to PC power and cooling with an unopened laptop for a full refund. Thank you very much, Apple will be getting my money!

If you do not have your laptop and you orderd on or about the time everyone seems to have started having problems here are some phone numbers:
408-733-8400 <-- OCZ corporate
extension 461 = the tech supposed to be helping hypersonic customers.
extension 201 = the executive who got mine out the door
1-800-520-0498 <- PC power and cooling, the building where they receive and reship the hypersonic laptops from.

It is now November 8th, 2007...almost 2 months after the purchase of my laptop. They took my money and have made zero effort on keeping me updated on the state of my computer. I have yet to even receive the damn thing, I have no idea where is it. As far as I am concerned, they are crooks who robbed me of 5,000 dollars.

They never pick up their phones ever. They have no messaging service. There sales associates never call or email you back ever. I have called twice everyday, and everyday no one picks up. There are laws in the country and this company isn't following them.

I implore you, as the consumer...do not, under any circumstances, buy from this sorry excuse for a business. They have the worst customer service ever simply because there is none. I might as well be talking to the wall. They charge you then forget you.

I cant even contact them to cancel my order, or change anything, or dispute anything. My credit card company cant even contact them.
If my computer does show up I will be sending it back without even opening the box, and if I am not credited immediately I will most likely file a lawsuit against them. I will update this review when that happens.

Bottom line......Do not buy from Hypersonic, they offer nothing special, and they wont take care of you, they'll just rob you.

** After threatening to sue, my order was canceled, ending this truly awful experience.

I ordered on 10/2/2007. I am moving around the world right now so I asked when it could be shipped to me so I could get them the correct address... I was told roughly by the 15th it would be shipped ($3300 laptop).

So far customer service doesn't seem too bad, it is hard to get ahold of them sometimes but they are helpful when I do come into contact with them. They state they reply emails within 2 hours during business hours, but average is 6 days. The 15th comes along, I call again checking on the laptop. They said they were switching out my motherboard, so the next ship date is the 22nd... okay I can deal with that.

Come the 22nd I call, they say it can ship tomorrow, then... wait call back in two hours.
I am pleased with them telling me to callback in two hours because that must mean they are activly working on my laptop right?.. hm

Anyways I call back two hours later, they say that there was a faulty part, it will have to ship in 2 days, possibly slightly longer.

I check on the website, my order is still in "kitting and assignment" meaning they havent even starting building it yet..

So far none of this is horrible, i understand delays happen and when I call tech support they generally try to help me, I talked to a guy there several times who was very helpful.

Problem comes after the 22nd their sales telephones have been down, its been about a week. I can call tech support and ask about order status, they tell me to call sales. I call sales, but no calls can go through. I call back to tech support(roughly 8 calls made) and they say "Unfortunately we cannot get ahold of them either."

That seems odd that not even their own tech support can get ahold of hypersonic.

Apparently they are going through a merger tech support tells me, but they dont know with whom. I find out that OCZ bought hypersonic-pc, for better or worse.

Hypersonic-pc quit responding to emails about a week and a half after i made the order.

I will update this when something happens.

I will also add that my roommate bought a laptop from hypersonic which looks good and runs great, which is why I went with them... unfortunately so far I am at a loss of what to do about the laptop I ordered.

Update 11/1/2007

Well still cannot get ahold of sales, i can call tech support and they promise me they'll send a message and ill be called back but it never happens. Well I will call/send emails to every sales department/sales person I know asking them to cancel my order, i will call tech support and tell them to pass the message.

If they dont give me a full refund I will be pressing charges, I will keep anyone updated who wants to know.

UPDATE 11-1-2007

I called OCZ technology, who has bought out hypersonic-pc. I have a feeling that hypersonic will be great once OCZ gets settled in, they are a great company. But for now, its obviously a complete mess. OCZ told me around two weeks and they will have completely taken over.

Anyways, I told an OCZ rep that I will be pressing charges and he apologized for everything I went through, and told me i'd get my refund in 24-48 hours. I will update.

UPDATE 11-9-2007

AFter OCZ promised i'd get refunded within 2 days, a week and a half passes and they call me telling me that my system has been shipping and should arrive monday..... not wanting the system considering they have already violated several laws I immediately call them back and the guy who called me doesn't answer. I talk to another OCZ rep who tells me to refuse the shipment and they will refund me.

That sounds absolutely stupid. Why couldn't they just refund me in the first place? Perhaps hypersonic's new owners are just like the previous ones.

Making an appointment with my laywer today.

UPDATE 12-4-2007

Well after my attorny makes a friendly call asking for a refund, still nothing. Its too bad I have to file a claim now, which is going to distract me from my work.

UPDATE 12-10-2007

Okay.. long story short. 3300 dollars gone. I am convinced OCZ will not refund me. I hear different stories each time I call about how I am being refunded. One guy actually told me I was already refunded.

Filing a claim, putting a complaint with the Better business bereau, putting a complaint with the federal trade comission. It would cost at least $7500 to take these guys to court, but thank god for consumer protection laws. When they lose the case if they even let it go that far, they will have to pay my lawyer fees.

Word of advice, if you DO decide to do business with OCZ or hypersonic, document everything to include phone records, receipts, credit card/bank statements, emails, letters, and you should write down the names of each representative you talked to and what they said, and when.

Sure this sounds like a lot of work, but when they try to screw you like they are doing me, they are screwed themselves.

I sent 23 emails, made 68+ calls.

UPDATE 12-19-2007

12 more calls made... talked to the person I needed to talk to only once.. he said he'd call me back .. right

OCZ is ridiculous. i called several different people at OCZ to try and help me with my order, none of them ever call me back. The only person I can ever talk to is the person who answers all phone calls and will "transfer" you to whom you need to talk to.

This company is a joke.

still have not received our order for 4 Hypersonic Aviator AX20 laptops. Order has been delayed several times, no word from sales department.
Actually, this order has been pushed back approx. 6 weeks with no word from Hypersonic. Worse, I have been calling, calling, calling, and emailing, for weeks and have only been able to reach someone one time.
The number listed by Hypersonic on their website has no voicemail option. You cannot reach anyone to inquire, complain, etc.
I finally had to call technical support who could not help me with an eta for these items. He advised that I email our original salesperson, with the query. It has been a week, no response to what has been the third email sent.
Very, very dissatisfied with the customer service offered by this company. We shall see how their actual products measure up. They had better be phenom in order to make up for the lackluster m.o. held by Hypersonic's sales and marketing dept.
UPDATE! 11.27.07
Our customers received the Aviators last Wednesday, however they were not the computers that we had ordered. We were given 4 different laptops altogether, Hypersonic citing unavailability with the video cards. Our customer will now receive systems that are more suitable for gaming, rather than the CAD-design that they desired them to be used for.
If Hypersonic had advised as such much sooner, keeping everyone on the same page, then we would have dealt with the unavailability and shipment delay- at least we would have known what to tell our customer who was beating down our door, looking for their items WEEKS after we promised delivery. ( the US Government doesn't like to hear "SORRY, I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHEN YOU WILL RECEIVE THE ORDER YOU PLACED WITH US!")
To top it off, we had actually paid for these laptops as the order was placed- back in September. We now must wait an additional 30 days from the date of product receipt to be paid for them.
I must say, however, that once OCZ officially took over, we received timely customer service and prompt attention. At least, we could call their sales line and actually get ahold of someone, and the items shipped out when they said that they would. They even upgraded our shipping. Perhaps under the OCZ umbrella, Hypersonic will beef up their customer service tactics.
UPDATE 12.20.07
Yes, upgraded shipping. However, they downgraded our systems, shipping us a lesser product with a video card not necessarily compatible with our enduser's needs (autocad). We will see how they work out- we have a contract for these items and have already paid for them- we have little choice at this point.
The lesser systems are also smaller in width, but they sent us bags meant for the larger, original systems. A minor detail, but nevertheless symbolic of how our whole experience has been with Hypersonic thusfar.
I called to check up on the refund that we have coming to us- we have waited one month and so far- nothing. They owe us for the difference between the costs of the original (discontinued)AX7 and the EQ7 that we actually received.
NOTE: altho' discontinued, they still advertise the AX7 on their website...hm.
SO, after calling Hypersonic, or rather OCZ, I speak with a rather nice gentleman who looks thru our file and sees no mention of any reimbursement or refund.
I call back and speak with a Hypersonic operator who cannot even tell me what their phone number is and cannot transfer me to anyone else who may be able to help me.
I call back and speak with someone who says that the only person who can help me with this matter is our original salesperson, who is at the moment in New York at their offices there- and will not return until after the first of the year. What's more- there is no working phone number at their NY offices.
Yes- that's right- THE ONLY PERSON WITH ACCESS TO OUR INVOICE/ SALES RECORDS IS THE SALESPERSON. as if i were born yesterday.
I emailed this gentleman but truly don't expect to hear back from him.
OCZ is no better than Hypersonic. BUYER BEWARE- they take your money and RUN.
I've tried the pleasant approach, the abrasive approach, the consistent approach. Now it looks as if we need to try the legal approach- although we'll probably won't be the first few customers in that line, either.

UPDATE - 10/29/2007 - Just wanted to close this review. On 10/14 I went ahead and fixed my original laptop that they had sent me. Somehow they sent me my original keyboard instead of a new one. I simply told them I fixed my original keyboard myself and would be sending the really defective one back to them. The keyboard was shipped back and my laptop so far is working normally. Sad to say I do love my laptop but as I stated before, support is horrible.

UPDATE - 10/12/2007 OMG! Ok, you know at this point I just want my money back. Yesterday finally got to speak with n-House support and told me he will next day the keyboard. I said great can you please email me the tracking number and he agreed. By 4 PM I had no tracking number and emailed him requesting the tracking number. Today Friday all day no tracking number, however I did get the keyboard and will be installing it today. I was glad they at least came through with their word. After connecting the keyboard, guess what!!! ITS MY ORIGINAL KEYBOARD WITH THE STUCK KEY! ARE YOU GUYS SERIOUS!!! HOW CAN YOU SEND ME A DEFECTIVE KEYBOARD AND ABOVE ALL MY ORIGINAL KEYBOARD WITH THE PROBLEM. All you guys who just got your laptops/PC's I really hope you never have to deal with their support. I pray your PC's never break!!! I've had it with this company.

UPDATE-10/10/2007 - Now I am upset. 24/7 Support advised me I would get a call on Tues. Never did. Called at around 5PM and in house support number is not working, it rings, transfers, then hangs up. Called 24/7 support and they told me the Tech guy for in house support did not come in and they would call me Wednesday. Today Wed. no call either by 11 AM and main support number is still down. 24/7 support told me they sent a message to have a call back. 5:00 pm still no call back 24/7 support told me to call again in 30 mins I have no call back. Called at 5:57 PM, 24/7 support said in-house support has gone for the day and they put in another request to have them call me on Thurs, oh 24/7 doesn't have authority to ship me a new keyboard (I offered to replace it myself.) *sigh

UPDATE - After 3 weeks, I called for a status. After calling for 4 days straight (no answer and no voice mail available), I finally got through their regular support since after hour support cannot help, they were still waiting for the parts. It's a brand new laptop model so I believed them and requested to send me an update via email. (Never got it.) I called again Sept 28 and they told me one more week, requested another email update (never got it). Called again on Oct 4th and they advised me it was shipped Tues. Oct 2nd. Wow, thanks for the notice but now I am glad I'm getting my laptop back. Missed UPS at home friday so I advise to pick up myself on Monday.

UPDATE - Mon Oct 8th, I get my laptop, open it up panel is fixed and noticed keyboard is new. I didn't have the € sign before, oh well keys are keys right, as long as they are QWERTY standard. (So I thought) Turn on the laptop and start browsing the web. (This is when I really get upset.) You have my laptop for almost a month, and your repair team cannot verify the part you replace is working correctly???!!!! The keyboard has an issue where the keys you press are not the characters showing on the screen. If I press E an R is displayed and vice versa. In total about 8 keys are screwed and none of the symbols above the numbers work (!@#$%^ etc). I checked the keyboard language settings and are set to English-US. I even tried setting to English-International and the problem still exists. So I called support, they send me a link to Microsoft's tech-net site to try what I just did. After I called back, they told me someone from regular support will call me back tomorrow since they are closed. WTF?? What is the point of 24/7 support? They can't help with real issues, they can't help with status of repairs if it's past regular business hours. (10am - 6pm). This is a problem for me since I work in the same time zone from 9-5:30. By the time I get home, regular support is already closed. So now I have to call while at work and hope to get home before 6 to call back if I have to. I like the laptop, but customer service has a long way to go. Guess i'm lucky that I'm patient. I will keep updating until I am free of problems.

Ordering was relatively easy. I read through all the reviews and gave this company a chance based on several of the reviews and they were less expensive than Alienware especially in regards to warranty and accidental warranty. So, I placed my order for an Aviator EQ7 on May 7th and it was shipped by the 30th I received it on June 4th. Took longer than what the site stated but 1 month wasn't so bad. When I got it, it had a small dent in the back LCD panel. No biggie, since it didn't affect the actual monitor and was dead pixel free. So I called in a repair for the panel and held off from sending it in for a while since I wanted to really show it off and use it. I can say so far that I am really happy with the laptop and benchmarks from 3D Mark 06.

In Aug a new problem arose. The keyboard had a key stuck. So I called it in and they sent me a shipping label via email. Luckily I kept the box so used the same one. They received the box on Sept 6th.

Please help shut this company down!
I searched the internet for what I thought would be a top of the line system. I explained to the salesman that it was to be used for business and I couldn't afford for long delays in repairs should something go wrong. Consequently, I purchased every warranty they offered and I was assured that if there was a problem, it would be fixed immediately. I was impressed by the Hypersonic-PC website and purchased an Aviator FX7 laptop for $5,609.00. My credit card was immediately charged the full amount and I was promised a laptop in 8 days.
Nine days later I called and started getting the run around. First, I was told to ignore their build process that is highlighted on their website - it means nothing, it is just a gimmick. Ultimately, it was received on 8/1/2006 - more than twice the time I was originally told. The restore CD was missing and I received a CD about a month later.

I shipped the laptop back to Hypersonic for repair due to a bad motherboard (the system runs extremely hot!)
On 8/8/2007, Hypersonic received my laptop. Today is 10/2/2007 and I still do not have my laptop. They refuse to do anything but say your laptop will be ready in a week or two, but there is no guarantee of that.
I purchased a different laptop for work from Dell after realizing that Hypersonic had no intention of "expediting" my laptop repairs.

Their excuse is that the laptop has been discontinued and the motherboards are on backorder. I had the laptop for a year before it was entirely discontinued and motherboards are no longer stocked. After arguing with the sales manager, he said he would put me at the top of the list of people waiting for motherboards for the FX7. Hmmm, how many people are out there waiting for months on end for their laptops to be repaired? Their website says virtually no downtime on their platinum warranty.

Also, it is amazing how phone calls and e-mails are not returned. This company is clearly operating outside the boundaries of good business practices.

At this point, I am convinced the FX7 motherboard has overheating issues that Hypersonic would like to bury. Please, e-mail me below if you have any questions or would like to see the documentation I have meticulously maintained from this purchasing mistake. BUY DELL!!!!!!!

So I learned that I was getting shipped off to Iraq for 15 months and decided to shop for a top-of-the-line laptop to take with me. After much research I found a system I liked, and while the same system was available from many retailers, I found Hypersonic PC and their AX20 to have the cheapest price. Since I was deploying soon I confirmed with Hypersonic via email their posted build schedule of 7-10 days. They confirmed this for me and I purchased a brand new Aviator AX20 from them on the 9th of January for nearly $4,000. To my disappointment, at the end of that month my system had mysteriously shipped twice but I had not received it or even a tracking number for its shipment. A few phone calls later, I at the end had to have my system overnighted (at my expense!) just so that I would receive it the day before I left on the 2nd of February, almost a month after my order was placed.
The first day of use I noticed a problem. This is what you can expect from Hypersonic's "burn-in" process. Already upset about the shipping issues, I contacted Hypersonic's service department the very next day about my computer overheating after 10 minutes every time I turned it on. Regardless of environment or use, the system would not fail to overheat. So I sent a couple of detailed emails telling them my problem and received a response of, "This is usually a sign of overheating. Check to see if the fans are working correctly." This is what the Hypersonic warranty will give you.
So, yes my fans were running fine thank you, but my computer was not. After a series of 4 months and 6 unanswered emails, I was finally told over the phone that my system was past its initial warranty period. This is another thing you can expect from Hypersonic. Their policy on returns or repairs is to just wait to respond to a customer's problem until the period in which it is covered has passed. I talked to two people for over two hours, pleading my story to Hypersonic and was granted a repair of the system finally on the 24th of July, nearly six months after I first received the system and noticed the problem. I was forced to ship the system at my own expense from Iraq, back to Hypersonic. It landed at their door nine days ago, and again after a number of unanswered emails, I have heard nothing of its progress. This is what you can expect from Hypersonic's repair department. I got a broken computer for seven months, and now have nothing except a $4,000 sized hole in my wallet.

Update!!! August 22, 2007
I tracked my system through the mail to Hypersonic's repair department and it arrived there at 10am on the 26th of July. A few more inquiring emails later I received an email finally on the 9th of August saying that a faulty motherboard somehow made it past their mandatory 72 hour burn in process. They ordered a new motherboard for my system and said that it would be in for testing the next day, and possibly be ready for shipment the middle of the following week. 12 days later brings us up to date with only two more unanswered emails and still no system. I'm hoping they hold out for a few more months so that by the time that I actually get a working system, it will be completely obsolete. For those still considering buying from Hypersonic, stay tuned for more promising updates!

Update #2!!! September 1, 2007
Well it has been 7 months since I "received" my system from Hypersonic and the result is still a total loss. This timeline is approaching ridiculous proportions. My series of emails were finally answered and the Hypersonic technician told me that despite their best efforts, the motherboard was not the problem with my system, and that they would be experimenting with replacing the processor. Most people know, and if they don't should, that to replace a processor in a computer takes all of two minutes. This of course is not the case with Hypersonic, as it has been since the 24th of August since I heard this news from the techs there. Eight days and two unanswered emails after their last response brings us up to date with a running total of 7 months, 22 emails, 8 phone calls, $4,000 and still no computer.

Update #3!!! October 27, 2007
This is the climax and ultimate conclusion of this sad saga. I received a few weeks ago an email from Hypersonic telling me that my computer was finally fixed, and that in order to get it back I would need to arrange payment with them to the tune of $450 for parts and labor. Horrified after all I had gone through, I thought that this had to be some simple misunderstanding. They assured me that it was not, because it was nearly eight months after my purchase date, the computer was after all not being covered under warranty and I would have to make the payment to get my computer back. I have not spoken directly with Hypersonic since then. After this ridiculous series of events, I was forced to take the legal route with this. After consulting a lawyer on the matter, they informed me that Hypersonic was in fact violating several laws including my own state and New York's Consumer Protection Act, as well as subjecting itself to liability for claims of breach of contract, fraud, mispresentation and conversion in reference to their policies and some things they claim on their website and in emails to me. As of today, they have 3 days to answer my demands for a full refund. I will update and let everyone who is also having problems with Hypersonic, or those of you who are looking into buying from Hypersonic, know how this matter ends.

I ordered an AX20 on April 13,2007. This was supposed to be my Dream Laptop but, it turned into a nightmare.

I ordered my computer with a "Custom Airbrush Design". June 8 I was informed:

Your system is currently being painted at our paint facility, and is still about 2 weeks from completion.

However, we are using a new painting method called “Powder Coating” which does not allow us to have any custom graphics placed on the lids of our machines.

They refunded some money from my order but, I was very dissapointed because if I would have know there was no "Custom Paint Job" I would have picked another vendor who could do what they advertise.

June 8th they said my system was 2 weeks away. July 19th I recieved my system. It was incomplete. I paid for a complete paint job like the ones in the pictures. They only painted the lid and inside. The DVD player is a normal DVD player. Not the BLU-RAY DVD Player I ordered. The Disaster disk was missing (LOL)

I recomend buying a computer from Hypersonic if your prepared to wait an extra ordinary long time to recieve your system and, get shafted for half the items you paid for with your order.

12/26/07
After many months of waiting I finally recieve a Blu-Ray Drive. Unfortunately it does not fit in my laptop. I wonder how long it will take them to send me the right one?

01/22/08

I finally was able to contact someone at Hypersonic yesterday and, Figure out how to install the Blu-Ray Drive they sent me. Once installed I had to figure out how to play Blu-Ray discs with it (drivers weren't provided).

Hopefuly this finally brings to an end my sad saga of disapointment with Hypersonic. Let me be perfectly clear. I DO NOT recomend them...EVER.

Well, I placed my order more than 7 weeks ago and have yet to receive my machine (aviator CX7) - have sent numerous emails and only get replies about 1/3 of the time. I have heard great things about the machines, but at this point I really regret ordering from them - the customer service is a joke. They don't tell you when there are delays, and don't respond to requests for information about something that I have already been charged for. I am tempted to contact my credit card company to dispute the charge because I have never received the item that I have paid for. I would love to review the actual machine but they would actually have to send it to me first.
UPDATE: Well, if possible the first thing I would do is change my rating from "very dissatisfied" to "Utterly and completely dissatisfied to a level I never thought possible" because it is now 8 weeks to the day since I ordered my computer, and I cannot get a straight answer from these people. I gave up on calling a while back, because I never got a person, just voicemail, which was never returned. The last email I received said that the computer would ship today and that I would receive a tracking number today. But what did I get - you guessed it - NOTHING. Based on the email I got 2 days ago saying it would ship, it seemed unlikely anyway - first they said it was still being painted and then that it would ship 2 days later - that is impossible based on the testing they supposedly do. At this point I am so angry that I can't even articulate it. The status update section has actually moved backwards a step. At this point there I cannot imagine what the company could do to make me a satisfied customer. I picked the computer because it was the size, style and configuration I wanted - there were more expensive computers that I considered but they didn't have all the features I was looking for - now I wish that I had gone with them - the cost of the machine has never been an issue to me - it is the quality of the product and the customer service. And the way that they treat their customers they should be paying us to take their merchandise. I don't see how they stay in business treating people like this. Seriously, I am so angry I can't even explain it. And I really hope that Hypersonic sees this and post a response like they used to (haven't lately I've noticed) because then I would know that they actually pay attention to their customer complaints and problems - right now I feel like they are all just sitting there laughing at what a sucker I am for buying a machine from them.
UPDATE 4/11/07 - It will be 10 weeks since I ordered on Friday, still no machine. They have given me $265 in credits, which brings my cost to $3438.00. Order the identical machine today and it would be $3350.00 so color me unimpressed. Since I was charged at purchase instead of after shipment, which I have been told should not have happened based on the credit card requirements, they are still getting to screw me over but good - plus they now include Office 2007 basic on these machines. Hate them - hate them very much. Plan to contact them about this today.
4/12 update - they have refused to do anything else (won't even price match their own current price) and claim that the machine will ship on Friday 4/13, meaning it will be at least Monday before I get it, if I believed it would actually be shipping that day (I believe it about as much as I believe that flying monkeys will be hand delivering it). Tried to get the name of a supervisor from my sales rep and he REFUSED to give it to me, so I will be getting it another way. It seems like this rep knows they screwed up and is trying to hide it or prevent the higher ups from knowing about it. I work for an office machine company and if a rep treated any customer like I have been treated they would be out of a job.
4/24 Update - Well, after being told I would have the computer today,I didn't get it but it finally shipped today. Got a tracking number and everything.Of course I probably will never see it since they shipped it to the WRONG ADDRESS. Seriously, there are only 2 explinations. Either they are completely incompetent, or the are consciously making it impossible to get my computer.
FINAL UPDATE 4/25/07 - Got the computer today, doesn't work, so it is going back - recovery cd's didn't work, computer only starts in safe mode, can't even get the control panel to open.

Hypersonic's customer service is a joke. My order of a notebook computer was missing the Disaster Recovery DVD ($39). I informed Hypersonic and they told me they would get one sent out immediately. My computer arrived in December, here it is now February and I am still waiting for the missing item. I have contacted Hypersonic more than 3 times, and every time, they apologize for the delay and say that it will be sent "soon." Well, that joke isn't funny anymore. Next time I'll go with a vendor that takes customer service more seriously.

My father ordered the ex7 (an almost $4000 laptop) to arrive on my Birthday on the 16th; it arrived over a month later due to monitor problems in which they had to replace. When the laptop did finally arrive, I opened it and turned it on. There were 4 dead pixels; 3 around the corners and 1 in the middle. I was very dissapointed. The first day I used it, the computer overheated and turned off. I was VERY dissapointed. The next few days I noticed that one of the covers covering the springs for the monitor was loose. I pulled it out and found that there were no screws keeping it in place. The other side was firmly screwed in. Over the next month or more I had continued to get errors and overheating problems which I finally called about. They sent me a new video card (which was a geforce even though I currently had an ATI). I switched to the geforce and found out that it was misaligned with the fan; I still had overheating problems. I decided to live with it. I got a blue screen almost every other day. At the time I played Warcraft III and Guildwars which worked without any problems on my six year old Dell. However, on this laptop they would both extremely lag while making noises like "BRRRRRRBRRRRR" from the speakers. I finally called when my computer would not even load. I decided to use the boot disc to just reinstall everything. The boot disc did not work. By the way; every time I called during main bussiness hours it would transfer me to the afterhours tech support which is a useless organization that I am starting to think is in a little shack in India. Their leading technition spoke to me and explained to me that I need to call the main tech support group and I explained that I had been trying. He said what I needed to do is call them and get a replacement boot disc and that they would ship me and fund me an external floppy disc drive so that I would be able to reinstall my RAID 0 drivers. I then called and after about 2 hours worth of transfers and either hang ups or disconnects (all on hypersonic's fault) I spoke to a representitive who treated me like a moron. He explained to me that I needed to go out and buy a floppy disc drive because it was not in their policy to support me with one. I explained that the man in their after hours tech support said otherwise and this guy said he was mistaken and would straighten things out with him. Yea Right. Well, my boot disc came after a few days and I reinstalled the computer. I continued to get blue screens. I called hypersonic and explained to them that I could not even last five minutes without the blue screen. They took my computer in and "repaired" it. I told them to fix the broken monitor cover, the microphone which did not work, the overheating problem, the error problem, and to see if they could do anything about the dead pixels. When my computer finally came back the only thing that was fixed was the broken cover. They said they had replaced the motherboard; it had not helped a thing. I was still getting blue screens every half an hour and extreme lag. Some time passed and I decided to run a memory test on the system in which I received multiple errors. I called (again it took a few days, the first day I called the ringtone continued and there were no messages; after five minutes I hung up and tried again; same problem. I called the next day and got multiple transfers which took over 45 minutes.) and they sent a replacement. The memory did not help either. I was still getting problems. I decided to send my computer in again more than a month ago. They assured me that they would fix this and get it out to me within a week. After calling after the week, they assured me that it would be sent the next day. I called every other day, at least 20 times and each time the representative told me it would be sent the next day. I called again and spoke to one of the same representatives that I had spoken to at least 5 times; he remembered me and was very empathetic with me. I did not need empathy, I needed the computer. He told me that they were running "major tests" on the system. They told me they had been running tests for a month now. After asking him to replace the system he said that they would not be able to do so. He did tell me they would upgrade the video card. LOL that was the reason I sent it in in the first place. Sadly my father became very upset and decided to call them last monday. He gave them an ultimatem (which they clearly needed considering that they could keep the computer for an unlimited amount of time and have no problems). The representatives guaranteed that it would be shipped by last Friday or they would replace the system upgrading the parts. Friday came and I decided to call. I let the phone idle for about 20 minutes and all I got was a continued ringtone after trying sales, tech support, and customer service. The operator option had not been working for the last 5 times I called. Well I gave up.

I purchased an Aviator CX7 Turbo gaming notebook and it has been a disaster. I regret buying it so much. I had been looking through different computer companies for a good price. Hypersonic seemed to be in a medium range (some companies were cheaper) for what they offered. Thinking that i would be paying a little more for service i went ahead and bought the computer.
I recieved it promptly and when i tried to turn it on the fans and a couple lights would turn on but the screen would stay blank; other times the screen would freeze on bootup.
I also had a tv tuner put in the computer but i did not recieve the proper connectors to connect the cable. (I recieved the connector five months later after sending in pictures of the connectors they first sent me twice!)
When i sent in the computer to get the power problem fixed i recieved it back promptly but they didnt send me the POWER CORD! So i cant even use it period!
I have called already and have been promised to be called back without any offers to solutions, this is the second day without any calls from them. Great service huh?
If they have so much work that they cant handle customers problems or they are so unorganized that they forget a power cord to a laptop then they need to rethink their position in this growing technology industry.
