Okay, so I ordered a Monarch Furia Custom Workstation (PCI-E) on May 11th of 2006. I paid a $125 hot rush order fee. I also put in a change order for a different motherboard the day after I ordered and verbally confirmed it with a Monarch rep via phone.

So what happened? My order did not ship until June 12th 2006. I had several emails and phone conversations with them and it was agreed I would get my hot order fee refunded. Never happened. They talked about a store credit, then about refunding my PayPal account. Never saw it. When they did ship it they sent it FedEx second day, so I (foolishly) let it drop. To be totally fair, I suppose the added cost of the changed motherboard and expedited shipping probably came close to the hot order fee.

It gets better. When I recieved my system I noticed they didn't process my change order. Even though I both emailed them and verbally confirmed the change order.

So I RMA'd it. I will admit they handled the RMA okay, even if it did take longer than I expected. At least I got it back with the motherboard I wanted and they payed for shipping both ways.

The problem was the system didn't work. It wouldn't boot up unless I booted up with the Windows XP CD in the drive and the monitor would not come up. Maybe if I rebooted 9 or ten times the monitor would eventually come up.

So I get on the phone with Monarch and get another RMA #. I asked if they would pay for shipping like the last time and they said they would. They would treat it like a DOA. The first RMA they sent me a FedEx shipping slip in the mail, but this time they wouldn't. They just said to tell FedEx to bill the recipient. So that's what I did.

After 10 or so days I called Monarch to check on the status of my RMA and they said they received it and the work was being scheduled.

Then I couldn't get in touch with them. They stopped answering their phones and didn't reply to my emails.

So this week I received a bill from FedEx for shipping charges. Seems Monarch refused to accept my RMA shipment. I called FedEx and my system is sitting in a depot in Georgia. Well at least I will get my system back.

Part of the fault is mine as I transposed two of the digits of my phone number on the FedEx form. BUT, Monarch was totally disingenuous about my second RMA. And a Monarch rep flat-out lied to me about receiving my system when in fact they refused to accept the shipment.

People, do not, DO NOT, under any circumstances buy anything from this company. They are taking people for a ride. They don't even have the courage to be honest. I would not have been happy, but if they were honest with me I could have either attempted to resovle the problems myself or taken the system to a local business.

It's really a shame because I bought a custom system from them in 2003 and I was very, very satisfied with it and Monarch.

On August 12th I ordered a dual opteron socket F motherboard with 2 dual core opterons, and 4gig of ram, from Monarch computer. After several weeks of waiting, I called them up and they told me that the mobo I ordered was discontinued! When were they going to tell me! The salesman, who no longer works there told me that he had another mobo that was identical to the one I ordered and he could order that one for me. I was leary at first because I usually research every purchase carefully. They didn't have the specs for the new mobo on their website so he read me the specs and assured me that it was a great mobo. told him that it would have to work with the brand new $2000 quadro fx 4500 that I had just bought. The saleman assured me that it would even though it wasn't an nvdia chipset. I agreed to get the mobo he recommended it was a Supermicro H8DA8-2. after another month of waiting, the mobo finally arrived fully set up with the opterons and the ram and it was incompatible with my $2000 video card. The salesman and I spoke to the manufacturer together and The representative from supermicro told us that the board was not compatible with my video card and that there were no drivers. Monarch gave me an RMA number for the whole setup and told me to go on the Tyan site and pick out a comparable mobo and they would get it for me. i picked out a board from the tyan site and the monarch represenative said he would get it to me. Two weeks later still no mobo. finally I called up and we both agreed we should just cancel my order. On December 8th, my order was supposedly cancelled. It is now January 22 and I still haven't gotten my money back. We're talking $2,000! I've emailed them repeatedly and have received no reply. I've tried to call but can't get through to anyone. I'm hoping I can get my money back through my credit card company.

Might as well keep the rating going lower because the same thing happened to me! It was interesting though. I purchased a product on the 26th of December then I figured I would need more so I went back to order again and the product was gone. So somebody is updating that site! TOTAL FRAUD!! Working with PayPal to *hopefully* get my money back.
I just hope people come across this before they buy!

Run from this company. Bunch of thieves. Spent almost 4k on a system and they will not now support. Sent multiple RMA and charged my card for each. Had to dispute every one of them. They refuse to honor their warranty. No retun call, no retun e-mails, no nothing. Toll free service number is down. They must be bankrupt. Again run.

I filed a compiant with the BBB.

I ordered a computer system from these guys, and have received nothing. I have had the same experience as everyone that has already posted here. The issue is now in the hands of my bank and paypal for a chargeback. I went ahead and ordered with another company, and got my system the next week.

I made a large server order in late November, and have waited over a month for any updates on its status. I asked about details via the order status inquiry form three times, and only got automated response e-mails. I got really frustrated that they charged my card, and I even paid for a "Hot Rush" expedite on the order, yet there was absolutely nothing being done. Then I read this:

http://www.hardocp.com/news.html?news=MjMwMDgsLCxobmV3cywsLDE=

I wrote and called to cancel the order immediately, all with nothing but automated replies. I called the credit card company to reverse the charge, and they are still investigating. It may be up to another month before I get my money back, even though I never received anything -- not even a human e-mail response.

What shame...have had fantastic dealings with them in the past, however, I have a $200+ store credit with them which appears to have gone up into thin air. They do not return emails as has been stated before, and all the Mailboxes are full via voicemail. Not to mentio the local number has been disconnected and the technichal support numbers have been disconnected as well.

Screw - them. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!

I placed an order for a motherboard and was advised by the website that it was backordered. Called Newegg and it was in stock. Called Monarch to cancel the backorder as I had already ordered it elsewhere and was put into voicemail. Called back many times and got the same voicemail. Long story short, I have an extra $300 motherboard. I wouldn't do business with this joint again if my life depended upon it. Go to Newegg or Tigerdirect.

I also have had a terrible situation with this company, it is now the 18th of Dec and I am STILL missing items from my computer order that was places back in Sept. On top of that they sent me a bent case that was the wrong color, the wrong monitor. Also they gave me a (hand me down) graphics card cause the one I ordered for the computer had an issue, so they were going to refund me for it, I have been to their web site and amazingly anof they have taken their phone number off and I cant find it... With all of the issue's I am having, bent case, different graphics card, wrong monitor, still missing key board... They are up to around 500$ US and will be hearing from my Military Legal section very soon.

On 9 Nov 2006 I ordered a system (Media Center A Series) for 1133.27. The email receipt stated up to 20 business days to ship. It has now been 34 days and there has been no progress on the status web page, my emails have not been responded to and all efforts to contact the company via phone have failed.

I have called every business day since the 7th. On Tuesday I was determined to get them on the phone. I got their answering machine and after one hour on hold (10-11), I called on another phone and had their answering machine tell me they were closed. LOL. I waited for another hour then called again on another phone and they were now “open” again. After over two hours on hold (1000-1215), I gave up. Their answering machine said they were closed all day today. Taking the advice of other posters I filed a PayPal dispute.

This was the first time I had ordered from this company and I am kicking myself for not researching better before I ordered. The company has been around for a while and I had looked up their ratings several times over the years so didn’t imagine they could get this bad so fast. I can’t say anything positive them at the moment. It appears they are just taking peoples money with no intention of delivering.

On October 25, 2006, I ordered a processor from Monarch Computers. I chose MC because they were the only people listing this particular processor in stock. The next day, I stumbled upon a bad review of MC, which led me to this review site. Suspecting the worst, I called MC to check on the status of my order. Although the website still listed the processor as "in stock," the CSR informed me that the processor was not, in fact, in stock, and would be delayed several days. Needless to say I canceled my order, but by that time, my credit card had already been charged. They promised me an "expedited refund" (less than 15 days), but to date, no such refund has been made. Fortunately my bank is very good about disputes and have credited my card for the full amount. However, if I didn't have such a responsive bank, I'd still be out several hundred dollars. There is not a low enough rating for this scam of a company.

I stupidly ordered a new Hornet Pro system from Monarch despite the negative reviews on this site. I was hoping that they had just hit a rough spot and were working things out, as posts from their CSRs in various forums claim. At any rate, they instantly charged me just under $2600, but my order status has been static ever since. Plus, as other folks have mentioned, they do not respond to emails, and calling them only results in a message stating that they are closed. I've already sent them a final email to cancel my order and filed a dispute with my credit card company. Please, nobody attempt to purchase any items from Monarch. They seem to be going out of business and attempting to rob us of our money in the process. They've gone from being a reputable company to a bunch of scam artists. I am now going to file more complaints with the BBB and the Georgia Governor's office.

There must be somebody out there that lives close enough to swing by their B&M store to see what on earth is going on.

It's now been over a month trying to contact Monarch for an RMA, and apparently they are now out of business. I guess I will have to go to small claims court to get the money for my extended warranty back.

SEEMS THEY ARE NOW "CLOSED FOR BUSINESS"

I'm a small system integrator in New York City, and I've spent tens of thousands of dollars with Monarch over the last five years. Until my last two orders, I experienced no issues, other than maybe a couple of days extra lead time, but I placed one order on October 10th and one on November 15th, and I have yet to see either system. At this point, I have doubts that I ever will, and even that I will be able to get my money back without significant legal action.
When my first system failed to arrive on time I called them, and after a 45 minute wait, was informed that they would "look in to it". Upon calling back the next day and not getting any answer, I called back yet again, and after the requisite 45 minutes, I was told that my video card had failed its tests, and that a new one had been ordered and would arrive soon (as the part was not in stock). Since the system was long overdue, I asked Monarch to expedite my next order for no additional charge, which they agreed to readily. The increased phone support wait times made me a bit nervous, but with many positive Monarch experiences under my belt, I didn't think much about it (other then when I was pressured by my clients). After another three weeks, I started calling back every day, and after two days got through to sales support once again, where Dave assured me that both systems would be delivered by the end of the week (five days). When I had not gotten a package or a confirmation by Friday, I tried to call back, but their 800 number went directly to voicemail, and informed me that they were closed, but to call back during business hours. The problem was that I *was* calling during business hours. I called back at least six times, throughout the day, with the same result. It was at this point that I contacted the Better Business Bureau and filed a formal complaint. On Monday (today) I called back again, with the same pattern. Still they were not open. I am now afraid that I have been patently ripped off, and that they are closed for good with my $4000 in their bank account. Since I bought my orders with a debit card instead of a credit card, my chances of refund are seemingly slim, and I'm hopping f%@#ing mad.
Anyone interested in joining a class action lawsuit?
