*edit i am so happy MONARCH went belly up the crooks
Ordered a opteron 170 and a 250 seagate SATA drive...week later called to check on status...they said the harddrive was oversold and that delayed my order....called a week later...no stock on the opteron... mind you their website on 10/19 said IN STOCK....Nov 7th finally cancelled my order....it is now dec 15th and no refund.. This is standard practice with Monarch...only hope is my CC company return my money.
NEVER EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM MONARCH
*EDIT.... the guy above me is saying Monarch is going down because of AMD losing the performance crown to INTEL...thats just silly.... AMD is selling every chip it can make... 95% of people do not know what a conroe is... The REAL issue is when DELL sucked up all the AMD chips out the market.... MONARCH CANT GET ENUFF AMD CHIPS....If they had a glut of unsold ATHLONS in the warehouse because noone wants them..... then i would have gotten my AMD CPU in no time.... The problem is AMD but its because DELL has drained the market of ATHLONS and Monarch distributor chain is dry... This review was modified by its author, popegold, on

I would just like to say that, my dealings with Monarch, past and present, has been outstanding!
Great credit card security system in place and extremely fast shipping, even through USPS!
I will most definitely purchase from Monarch again

I ordered memory for my computer that no one else had in stock! While my order was processing I found another vendor that had the same product only for less money; Monarch checked it out and price matched on the spot. Now that's customer service and a very powerful marketing tool.
There was an issue with my order processing that was a simple misunderstanding of mine, so I e-mailed Monarch for an answer. Sterling went out of his way to get a hold of me on his time and on his personal phone, after hours on a Friday night.
Monarch's customer service department has gone out of it's way to make me a return customer.

This is the worst company I have EVER dealt with.
On October 9th I placed an order for the TV Wonder USB 2.0, I never received another word from them, so on around October 23rd after not getting any replies to email through customer support, I tried calling.. I waited on the phone for more than 40 minutes before someone answered. I was informed that my product would be shipping by October 30th.. between November 2nd and november 9th i sent 4 emails and got no reply, I then sat on the phone for 59 minutes, no answer.. so I sent one last email, and got a reply that my product was never in stock and I would be refunded. I asked them to call me, and they did not reply. I went to the forum to voice a complaint and every complaint got deleted and I was threatened for removal if i posted anything negative. This company is a mess.
**FOLLOW UP** Well here i am into the new year, having given up on monarch to refund my money, I filed a complaint with the BBB a couple months ago.. but any hope of getting my money back is lost due to the fact i used my bank card.. this was complete fraud. Monarch computer had a really good deal on the OCZ Gamexstream 700 watt. There were no problems and I had a smooth transaction.

Monarch is one of the better online PC parts stores. I bought my 320 gig hard drive at less than $100 and am well satisfied. The service was great; the shipping very reasonable; the product is doing well. I have ordered from Monarch in the past and will order again, and will share with my friends the advantage of shopping at Monarch.

I ordered a Core 2 Duo MB/CPU/Memory combo and received it within just a few days. It's now running my Anti-Spam server, and I'm quite happy with it.

I ordered a motherboard and processor thru Monarch Computer Systems, inc., uunfortunately I fouled it up by ordering a slot 939 motherboard and a slot am processer which most companies would have shipped. Monarch questioned the disparity and held the order until they verified they were shipping what I really required. I wouldn't hesitate an instant to do business with them again.

I purchased a Monarch Hornet Pro 2 years ago.
The reason I decided on buying from Monarch is that they were able to answer some difficult techincal questions. The other three were not able to do this. Monarch allows you to do a full customization, (per their options, which are extensive). The others are limited. Basically if you want a customized machine (with parts that will work together, (this is where the tech supprot comes in), Monarch is worth looking into.
Lets cover all the bases. I had no problem with delivery. They allowed me to see 'online' the actual progress of the building of my machine. The machine's cabinet is made of aluminum, not plastic. It is designed to come apart easily.
Yes it rattled some, but I fixed that and now there is no rattle. (Going custom, get involved..:-))...Going mom and pop..while if that is what you want, go for it. Next I added 2G of ram to up it to 4G. This I purchased from Monarch, again using the technical support...yes I may be no expert, but they helped me out. Fast delivery, no headaches, good price..wickeded ram..don't have to figure how some other ram would work with what is in the original machine. Next one of the "background" leds on the temp display burned out. No biggey. (What others have this feature anyway??). I called Monarch and in 2 weeks had a replacement.(I do have the
extended warrenty). So..................... what do I use this machine for...Solid Modeling of Engineeing Designs. HUGE Files. Got an FX1100 in it.... This is a PROFESSIONAL machine for...da...work...and work it does, faster than any I met before...thank you. If you are into gaming, and want a CUSTOM machine...check out Monarch, but in all fairness do your shopping.

My experience with Monarch has been very positive and I find that their prices are competitive, i.e., the equivalent of Zip Zoom Fly and/or NewEgg, and sometimes better. Some of their bundled packages are absolutely amazing in terms of value versus price. Their only problem, if there is one, is a lack of marketing Identity. Monarch is a well kept secret in many respects and once people discover them, they will, in all probability, become one of the stalwarts in the the industry.

I have been a customer of monarch for a very long time, and have been purchasing pc parts and compoments for a while. I was in need of a new system, and wanted to get something small, but with performance. A pc basically to be used at home and to be able to easily take to LANs.
I decided to go with the Hornet Pro. The ordering process was suprising simple. All upgrades were clearly listed with the price. I just had to select the items I wanted, and not worry about compatibility issues. After I tweaked the system exactly to meeet my school and gaming needs, I submitted the order.
The hornet was completed and shipped in the timeframe that was stated online. When I received the unit, I was impress how well it was packed. The hornet itself was packed in a hornet box with padding, just like a typical computer case. That boxs was then packaged in a larger box with more padding. The hornet arrived without a scracth or dent. The unit fired up just fine, and works like a charm. Everything just works. This was definietly a great pc buying experience. No hiccups or surprises. Everything went verly smoothly.

Wow, a lot of negative reviews. I purchased a barebones system (I choose the components and they build it for me) from Monarch on Aug 25th, with a conroe processor. The system shipped about Sept 14th and arrived around Sept 15th. I expected a big delay with the Conroe availability, as they stated on the order page. I was also very nervous after I placed my order because of all of the negative reviews here.
Everything arrived in great condition. The build quality was awesome - all of the cables in the machine were tied off and the interior of the case was super clean looking. The case has a clear side window, so the interior look is important. I installed a new retail version of XP with absolutely no problems. If you read about all of the BIOS problems people had in back in August, you know that the Conroe's were not working well with the BIOS of the Asus boards. There was no problem here - Monarch obviously tested everything before shipping it.
Also, I ordered a 7600GT card with the same order. During the build time, Nvidia released the 7900GS for the same price! I emailed Monarch and asked to cancel the 7600GT and order a new 7900GS. They got back to me after a couple days and they did just that - the 7900GS had to be backordered, though, since they didn't have any in stock yet. About 5-7 days later they shipped the new 7900GS. No problems at all.
It's too bad so many people are having trouble. My experience was good. Faster build/ship times would be nice, but if Intel can't get Monarch the parts, then there's not much they can do.
