Ordered a iPod Touch 8gb. Came wrapped with only two air bags and was rattling around in the box. Was ordered for a birthday present and arrived 10 days prior. Fine...they would send another. They didn't send it priority mail and it arrived the day after the birthday party. Cheap of them to save a few cents with priorty mail doesn't cost more than a few pennies more. The replacement arrived with more air bags and two were deflated and the iPod was able to move around in the box. I have ordered a lot from Amazon, but I will never again order any electronics. They have gone down hill.

Ordered a Hard Drive as a gift.
fourteen days after it was shopped & billed, still no delivery. Called today and got an off shore female with a terible accent. Nice person, but unable to speak understandable English. Bummer. I am unsure as to the outcome of the conversation, they may reship the item. I need a dose of patience.

I placed an order of almost $84 for some video games for my son for Christmas. Unfortunately, the way Amazon.com shipped them was inadequate. They put them in a package that wasn't sealed at all on the sides (not a box, more like an envelope with carboard sides). It wasn't taped and when the package arrived via USPS, the games were falling out of the package. My son got the mail and was able to see everything in the package ruining the Christmas surprise. To me, I'm now out $84 that I spent towards surprising my son on Christmas morning. When I called Amazon, they wanted me to ship the items back to them so they could re-send them back to me. When I asked what sense that made, the person I spoke with, (who had what appeared to be such a thick Indian accent that I couldn't understand her at times) offered me a $5 promo code and an apology. Not good enough for me losing out on $84 worth of Christmas gifts that were supposed to be a surprise.

Amazon is unfortunately one of those stores that the more you know about them, the less you want to do business. Like Walmart. You read stories posted all over the web on how they are ripping people off and generally being a pain.
Here is my story.
I sold my first item the other day. The customer paid $5.50 for it. I made less than 50c out of the deal. I shipped it for $2.48, which is under the $2.98 shipping credit I got. But Amazon reached their grubby hand in and swiped my entire profits, so I was left with the leftover shipping credit. A few days later I went to buy an item from Amazon, and had no money. I found my buyer and seller account are separate parts. Fine, I thought, I'll redeem my measly few dollars for a gift card. But nope, you can't. The only way you can get money is by giving them your checking account number.
Combine these inconveniences with the fact that their cookies are pretty fishy and often suspected of spying, and the other little things, it's hard to have a good opinion of them. Everything I learn and everytime I use it I like Amazon less.

I refuse to do business with Amazon.com again.
Amazon used to be good, but now they ship all of their customer service jobs OVERSEAS to people who can hardly speak English. Also, Amazon intentionally misleads customers regarding shipping times. I paid extra for expedited shipping, and products I ordered from other sites after the Amazon order, for which I opted for regular shipping all arrived sooner than my Amazon order, and they were from the opposite side of the country. The Amazon order was from the same state. When I called I was told by idiot # 1, and idiot # 1's supervisor: "I'm very sorry you feel that way sir, but that is our policy." It sounded as if they were reading from a Xerox copy, because they BOTH said almost the same things word for word as the other did.
It is clear to me that Amazon.com believes they are invincible. They are WRONG!
From now on, if I find a product on Amazon.com that I want to buy, I will go directly to the seller's website, and then only after I check with Reseller Ratings first.

Delayed shipping - absolutely disappointing!!
I ordered 2 products 3 days ago that said they were in stock. Because I chose the Free Super Saver shipping method the products don't go out for shipping immediately but rather 5-9 days after I submitted my order. This makes me think that Amazon.com tries to delay the free shipping so that customers are discouraged from using it. I will from now on use the free shipping offers that I get from Ebay. I have bought a lot of items on Amazon.com over the last years but after being a customer for 9 years I will now abandon this place!

Have heard good things about this store but unfortunately had a very bad experience with them ordering a Samsung TV.
Ordered the TV as a birthday present with plenty of time to spare as it was a little over 2 weeks away. Initial arrival date was about a week away, and then it got delayed to 2 weeks which was still okay just annoying. The TV arrived missing a part however so it could not be set up, and amazon would give no help saying that they don't open the boxes before they send them out.
Told me I had to find the part myself and they would give me no discount and now the TV definitely won't be ready in time.

I ordered a canon camcorder, sd card and case on 08-20-09. Amazon stated it was in stock and would ship on 08-26-09. I feel this is unacceptable already to wait 6 days to ship and who knows how many more to receive, but I ordered anyway. Now I receive and email telling me it's not in stock until 09-07-09. Customer service spoke to me as if I was in error and should have known better. I've cancelled my camcorder and the other 2 will follow when I find replacements.

My wife and I regularly order from several online retailers, and none have been as disappointing as Amazon. Our two Amazon accounts have been broken into three times, while we've never had any other retailer's account compromised. Amazon's customer support has ranged from completely unhelpful to downright rude. Amazon does have good prices on some items, but I'm willing to pay more just to avoid the hassle of calling Amazon to dispute charges for hours on end and still resorting to disputing the charge with the credit card company. My advice is to stay away from Amazon until they find a way to keep your account secure like everyone else already has.

Ordered a GPS unit from a contract seller; then notified that seller was forbidden by Amazon to complete the sale - after my credit card had been charged! Ordered GPS unit from a different contract seller. Credit card charged immediately. Never heard a word from 2nd seller. Emailed seller through Amazon's system, but no response. After 5-6 days, I called Amazon to complain, and they told me that I'd have to wait about 3 weeks to file a claim? They would not allow me to cancel the order, or refund my credit card. After 3 weeks I tried to submit a claim, but the Amazon website claim submission system would not allow me to proceed. So, I called customer service (oxymoron when applied to Amazon.com), and had to deal with a rep whose first spoken language was not English. I had to ask the rep, no less than 4 times, to speak more slowly and clearly - and finally gave up trying to understand him. I sent customer service an email telling them I had no idea what the next steps in the claim process were. They emailed me back to say the process would take another 2 weeks! So, Amazon has at least 2 sellers with offers displayed online that don't or can't sell their merchandise, and don't respond to emails. But Amazon.com takes 5 weeks to refund my money! I'm done with Amazon, even if I have to pay a higher price elsewhere!

I paid $166 to Amazon and a third party (7/14/2009) for a computer processor. I am still waiting (08/04/2009). Amazon does NOT intervene on the customer's behalf nor the seller's. That's crap...the third party is on YOUR website...OMG! I have to wait until 08/08/2009 before I can even file for a refund. The seller has yet to contact me. If you shop @ AMAZON.COM you are taking a risk of having no communication once you have sent your $$$$. How can a company, DIRECT BUY USA, not contact a customer that has dropped $$ at YOUR store?!?!? If you love your money like I like My money...AVOID AMAZON @ all costs!!!!!

Order placed on July 24th. They didn't ship until July 29th even though the item was in stock. I didn't get it until August 4th. That's 11 days ... Free shipping or not, they suck. I'll use New Egg next time.

KINDLE 2.0 DEFECT- i bought a Kindle cover for my 2.0 and it CRACKED my Kindle. Amazon is taking no responsibility and saying this is a "user misuse issue NOT a defect". The metal clips on the cover have cracked my Kindle 2.0 in two places. Nowhere on the Amazon site does it list that the cover can crack your Kindle for "improper use". i guess improper use is me keeping on my bedside and reading every nite. Whatever Amazon!

***INTERNET THIEVES***
I placed an order for a watch for my girlfriend through amazon. She didn't like it and so I ended up returning it. Since it was sold by Macy's (through Amazon), I was instructed to return it to Macy's which I did although I gave my money to Amazon.
Once Macy's confirmed the return, I contacted Amazon for a refund and was told that I need to talk to Macy's. I did that and they promptly sent me back to Amazon (which makes sense as Macy's did not have my credit card info).
In this back and forth game, more than 90 days passed and then Amazon refused to help. So they took my money and I got nothing for it. All emails to Amazon after the 90 days went un-replied.
Bunch of thieves. NEVER EVER SHOP THROUGH AMAZON. Even if they give a good deal, DON'T RISK YOUR MONEY!!!
