Very happy with my ncix experience. My situation was very unique and i promised myself when i got it i would write a review. I was tired of my 6 year old dell, and i was about to order another dell for $1500, and then i stumbled upon ncix.com My dear god it was amazing, everything was simple and advanced at the same time. Didn't have to deal with confusion, everything was straight forward. I did the build your own computer thing where you pick all the parts you want and then get it built for $50 and tested.
I ordered a full computer package with monitor speakers, keyboard, mouse and everything.
Coolermaster CM690
E8400
HD4850
Asus P5K P35
Corsair XMS2 4GB 800MHZ
Corsair TX650W
Samsung CD:RW-DVD burner and reader
Logitech G15 keyboard
Logitech G5 mouse
Logitech R20 speakers
LG 20 inch monitor (3000:1 2ms 1680x1050)
Vista home premium 64 bit
A bunch of different cables
Trendnet Wireless Adapter
In total it was $1450, after taxes and all that stuff it was $1690. The dell equivalent was $1750 and had far worse components. My situation was unique because i ordered it to the house i was moving into in a few weeks when i ordered it. There was no hassle everything shipped on time i got the whole thing in 9 days or 10 days. My mouse was backordered and it was shipped FOR FREE with air shipping. I live in Ontario, Canada. I will DEFINITELY order from ncix.com for any of my future parts or computer needs. A few small complaints are that a lot of the drivers were not installed which confused me. The wireless adapter was for windows XP and they didn't even notice it wasn't detected after they built it. I am having a little trouble with my graphics card only using half the bus speed of the 16x slot but that is Vista's fault because it confuses the motherboard into thinking i have crossfire cards so it runs my only card at 8x speed. Still at that speed i run Crysis all very high 2x AA at 15-30 FPS. I bought a linksys wireless adapter at best buy for $50 and replaced the XP one.

I made the order for my computer at 3am in the morning. by 4:30pm that evening i had all my parts in hand except for my back ordered items which i was expecting. very fast service, great tech help and the forums are the best place for honest, working solutions to any problems one may have during a build. Thanks

i put an order through on tuesday around 4PM, everything was approved and shipped out 2 hours later. and i received it today. i live in central alberta about an hour away from the saskatchewan border. all my computer shopping will be done through ncix, they have such great staff to help you with all your needs, and their forum has way to many helpful people (thats a good thing), to help out with your computer problems. And if i ever do have troubles with them i'll still shop here cause you can expect everything to go your way all the time. and out of 5 stars i would rate NCIX a 10

[Please note: I placed this review on the NCIX forums, and it was suggested that I place it here if possible. Usually I would not post in 2 places, but hopefully that is okay in this instance. Thank you.]
_____
This is an unsolicited comment, and I don't work for NCIX, and I don't have any friends who work there. So I promise you this is totally candid.
I'm 61, and I'm building my first computer. I don't have a lot of money. I know pretty much what I'm doing--sort of. I've fooled around with computers for 20 years, but a first build is a first build. And my specialty is software; not hardware.
So I'm spending over a thousand dollars; a lot for me. I have got myself a lot of info from various forums, but you never know who's advising you, and after awhile the info you get sort of goes around in contradictory circles. You have to just jump in.
I decided to go slow, putting my system together piece by piece, taking advantage of sales as they came along. I live in Vancouver, so it wasn't surprising that I found NCIX, about an hour's walk from my home.
The following is one single example of the service these NCIX guys have given me. I could give you 3 or 4 examples, but consider this one. I bought a Gigabyte mobo on March 31. It was a good one, which Tom's Hardware praised highly, but it was a version 1.0. Subsequently it was discovered that it had a northbridge cooling problem, with some way-too-high temperatures recorded, so Gigabyte (the maker) brought out a version 1.1 to correct that.
Oh oh. I'd had mine at home for 3 1/2 months. It was still unopened, in its plastic just like when I took it out of NCIX, but Gee Whiz--it had cost me $100 with tax. I was really upset. I didn't want to build my whole new, first-time system on a mobo with a known heat issue. I could put in a bigger heatsink but I was really troubled. Feeling lousy, I contacted NCIX.
You know what? I was given an over-the-counter exchange for a version 1.1.
NCIX didn't have to do that. I was hoping that NCIX just MIGHT help me return the thing to the manufacturer--which NCIX didn't have to do either. Basically, I was looking at a loss of about $100.
So, if you are a would-be customer, wondering if you should take a risk on NCIX, here's the scoop: (1) Their sales are short and aggressive. You have to keep watching. Don't be pressured; do it at your own speed. But, those same sales make some good prices available to you. (2) Read up about re-stocking fees at NCIX. You should do your homework. (3) Go ahead and buy from NCIX. My experience--and there have been more than just this one--have shown me that NCIX is a really, really good company, with employees who truly want you to be happy. This is the way a business should be run.
By the way, I'm a tough customer. I'm old and I'm critical and demanding. I don't give praise easily, and I'm sticky on details. But I got this high quality service without complaining at all--they simply responded this way because, apparently, this is their high standard of service.
Special thanks to Alex and Daniel in the Broadway store in Vancouver. As I said earlier, though, I don't really know any of these guys. I think I said the staff didn't include any friends of mine, but you know what? I think I'm beginning to call these guys my friends.
And I hope some NCIX high-ups happen to read this, because you'd better believe it--you have some excellent employees working for you.

Excellent, Canadian-based electronics company with great selection, a great community, and great customer service. Shipping is prompt, and you have about a dozen shipping options to choose from, to fit your needs and restrictions. Customer service replies are incredibly fast; although the site asks you to wait 1-2 business days, they can usually answer your message within the hour unless they're closed. They also have wonderful prices, which get even better if you become a Premier Partner. Excellent online retailer. Now if only I could visit their stores in BC and see if the service carries over...!

I have always had great experiences with NCIX. Fast shipping, and they always fix any issues i may have. They may not always have the cheapest prices, but with Price matching that is no problem.
Also, they have the uniqueness of having a very popular forum which really helps give the site a community feeling. This makes a big difference to me knowing I can go to the forums any time and get information or help.

PERFECT is the first word to came to my head to describe my first experience with NCIX
I placed my order on the 6th of July (Sunday) knowing that nothing would be processed this day.It was my first internet transaction and everything went so I could feel very secure because right after clicking Place my order button I received a confirmation.
Monday morning (for them it was still the 6th) I checked up my email and I received another confirmation that my pricematch was accepted ( 16$ on a external hardrive wich was already in rebate and 5.14 $ on a small cheap keyboard ) and my shipping information were accurate. Later that day my order my card was charged. I received another message but I only read it the morning after (now we are july 8th but it sended july 7th)order processed and shipped and I received a purolator tracking code which I couldnt use yet (Purolator diden't received it ) but I had it !
Then I received a invoice of my transaction , Purolator service was excellent as you can see:
2008/07/08 17:06 Picked up by Purolator
2008/07/08 17:07 Shipment In Transit
2008/07/09 08:56 On vehicle for delivery
2008/07/09 14:50 Scheduled Delivery Appointment Required ( I wasnt at home)
2008/07/09 16:55 Available for Pickup
2008/07/09 17:17 Available for Pickup
2008/07/09 18:18 Delivered to Me (I cut my personal info) (I went at purolator to claimed it)
So less than a day and it had received my package !
From BC to Quebec,Rimouski in less than a day ! Express shipping really is Express !
So in summary, Order placed on the 6th of July and received (touched by me) the 9th ! Less than 3 days !
For the packaging the box was in mint condition, cut the tape, products were protected by styrofoam cutted to fit properly and something I'll called air bags between products so they couldnt moved.
Payed 20$ for shipping (8pounds) by purolator AIR ,5$ for express coverage (on first order I feeled more secure). I don't feel like being ripped off considered how far It traveled and with the incredible fast delay !Order over 200$
I will order again that is for sure ! And please considered carefully very dissatisfied reviews, angry customers can be harsh sometimes (I know of that I work at Staples HAHA)
Have a nice day and don't hesitate ordering from Ncix !

My last order was for some high end speakers and a sound card (I'm looking over the old messages - now I remember why I wasn't going to deal with these people again):
first of all, dealing with their customer service is like pulling teeth.
here's an example of their responses (quoted exactly from an old message): "I really can't give any estimate on when these will come in - it could be tomorrow, it could be next year."
also, it seemed that they added a free ground shipping offer to the items I bought after I ordered but before it shipped, so I asked if I could cancel and reorder (+$65 for me) - no response from them, they just ignored my request (I should have pressed more but didn't).
anyway so the speakers eventually come, 1 of them is defective and hissing, so I return/RMA them, another $65 to ship them back.. and then a turn around time of nearly 2 months!
for a total time from ordering speakers to getting working speakers of 4 months!
also there's the notorious $5.99 NCIX Heavy Duty Shipping Box, which they may or may not use to put your stuff in, but when they don't use it they don't tell you and refund your money up front, you have to contact them and ask for your $5.99 back.
I wish I remembered how badly this order went... but alot of time went by and the sting of this wore off... and a week ago I ordered nearly a computer worth of parts from them.
the first thing that comes up: turns out they do _manual_ credit card processing, they have people phoning a number (that you supply) and checking your information (yes, they apparently pay people to do work that can be done by a computer program)... I gave NCIX my cell phone number, and the credit card company had another number, so NCIX rejects my credit card (despite this card being used for all previous orders with them), I change the number with the credit card company within minutes and phone NCIX back... now they tell me that this will add 24 business hours to the order processing. I ask the guy if anything can be done to speed this up... and he gives me a lecture about how they get literally 100's of orders a day and how NCIX doesn't care about me. This was Monday at 5:30pm (the order was placed on Saturday), and they didn't retry the order processing until about 4-5pm on Wednesday.
Wednesday night/Thursday I notice one of the items I had ordered had gone out of stock (everything was in stock when I placed my order), so I switch it for a similar but more expensive item - the guy on the phone tells me this will add 24-48 business hours to shipping.
The order was divided into 3 shipments, the first was shipped Thurs night/Fri morning, but it's seems the substitution costed me the full 48 'business' hrs, because the 2nd package looks like it won't be shipped until Monday (hopefully)... but it turns out that while they were dragging their feet, another one of the items I ordered went out of stock (despite being in stock when I placed my order), so a 3rd package will come who knows when in the future.
Their prices aren't bad... but you'll pay in other ways. Avoid NCIX if you need anything in a timely fashion, or want customer service that doesn't behave like bureaucrats.

NCIX is an amazing store with extremely fast customer service and a wonderful online forum. Manufacturers and staff often frequent the forums, further providing support above and beyond what they are required to do. I have never been upset with the service from this online retailer, and I doubt I ever will.
Bravo NCIX, bravo.
