1. Wrong Item Shipped, wouldn't respond to initial e-mail for over a week.
2. One phone call in 50 made it through to customer service, was promised a resolution by 6-10, today is 6-17 AM and still no resolution.
3. Item fell in price by $4, no refund offered, still no delivery of correct item.
4. Took threat of legal action for a response, projected resolution by 6-22, also requested refund of price difference.
I had ordered a DVD/VCR combo but what I had gotten in the mail was a box full of parts. THis thing looked like it was dropped from a 2 story window. What makes this worse is that this was for my girls birthday.

Funny story, kinda: I bought a lot of three golf shirts on ubid "auction." I was surprised to find that the shipping charge was not $12 for the lot, but $12 PER SHIRT. WHAT? Okay, live and learn.
But then the shirts come and they're ugly -- virtually unwearable -- and not at all the nice-looking shirts shown on the "auction." Okay, live and learn. Never again.
And then I get a SECOND box with 3 more of the same ugly shirts. Concerned that my card would be charged twice, I emailed ubid customer service to explain that I only bid/bought once.
They responded quickly, equally concerned that I had product that I hadn't paid for. They told me to stand by and they would give me instructions for returning the second batch of shirts.
Now assured that I wasn't being charged twice, I emailed them back saying I would be glad to return the unordered shirts at my shipping rate of $20. Per shirt.
I heard nothing more.
Please take my advice: Stay away from Ubid. The slim chance of getting a good deal is not worth Ubid's cheesy ripoff policies and incredible shipping rates.
Yeah, I got six shirts in the above case, but they're now ugly garage rags. My only other purchase with them went just slightly better.
uBid.com is a scam site. I found the hard drive I wanted, ordered it, and waited two weeks for the order to process. Every couple of days I checked the status of my order. Still "in process". I contacted uBid to find out why itt had not shipped. About 5 business days after that email they said my order was canceled because they didn't have the product anymore. I checked the site, and there was the drive I ordered for about $70 more with plenty in stock. uBid scammed me. I feel that they just wanted me to register so that they could flood my email inbox with tons of spam from their partners (the day after I signed up, I got 7 spam emails from some company that I have never heard of before)
AVOID UBID LIKE THE PLAGUE!
Oh BTW my order still shows in process... I guess I shouldn't be surprised at this level of professionalism
They have a third party shipper and tech support and repair service. They wrongly stated that the shipper is FedEx when actually it was UPS. Had to pay $45 for shipping something that should have cost less than $35. Not very reliable. The Add said Windows XP Professional, but the laptop shipped with Windows XP Home edition installed. There was no license for Windows XP Professional (only the CD). The laptop had hardware faults within 10min of opening the package. If I had to return, it would cose $$$ for restocking fee, if I wanted to repair it, shipping was on me and again the return was at inflated rates.
Very bad experience. Do not use. I bid on a camera in a dutch auction at the end there was no email notification that I was a winner. (Customer Support later told me their email notification system was down and that they knew of the problem.) Well, I tried to bid in Dutch auctions for two more days with the same result; no notification.
Next thing I know three cameras show up. I stopped delivery by UPS until I found out what was going on. Called UBID talked to rep Beckie. She told me about the lack of email. She said other customers had also complained. She said Ubid was well aware of the problem and was addressing the issue. I asked for a waiver of any fees.
Beckie talked to her supervison, Misty Hall, manager of customer care. Beckie told me there would be a 15% restock fee if the cameras were returned. ($270). She told me,accorduing to Ms. Hall, it was my problem and that the company policy called for the fee. Her supervisor, MS Hall, said I was responsible even though I got no notification from UBid and the fees would be enforced even though their system problems caused my repeated attempts to purchase the camera.
I asked to speak to Ms. Hall. Beckie said she was busy and that if I left a message on her voice mail Ms. Hall would get RIGHT back to me. I have never received a call.
Two days after making a successful 'bid' for five scsi160 hd, I received an e-mail stating that there was an error on uBid's end, and that they were cancelling the old order and manually entering a new order so the drives could ship from their distributor's warehouse. They also stated that this would not result in a shipping delay. Then it took 24 hours for the credit card approval process to take place - AGAIN. This credit card approval had taken place two days before! When I questioned this delay, I received an e-mail stating an order was not delayed unless an iten was not shipped in the time frame specified on their site - which the e-mail states is 10 business days BUT their own site specifies 1-5 business days! The order had been sent to the warehouse once 3 days before, and was ordered 2 Day air. and IF there had not been an 'error' on their end, 'probably' would have shipped. My order has shown as "At Supplier's Warehouse" for 7 day's now ... which means by one definition, it is delayed. But per the e-mail they have until the 28th to deliver it. After requesting a clarification, I got a duplicate of the first reply from a different 'Customer Care' person. No effort to try to answer my questions; No effort to try to 'make the customer happy' - just bald faced lies! This company is history!
Update: After several 'heated' e-mails, suddenly the items were shipped - but I still say they should have been delivered 4 days ago, not two days from now. Ubid used to be fast, and had resonable shipping. Now they are slow and it looks like they are using shipping rates to 'pad' the price. As I said above - This company is on the way out (and it can't be soon enough for me).

I have a ordered a laptop from Ubid recently, it comes defective - crashes every few minutes - not much help from Ubid at all. Still on phone with the HP guys trying to figure out what might be wrong.
My sincere advise - never buy anything from Ubid, even the price looks great - you will be better off buying it from retailer or stores.
Oh I forgot to mention about the high shipping price - that is another story.
I purchased an item that no one else bid on. I got it for the opening amount of $9.00. Two weeks went by and I received an email from UBID saying that there was a delay and it would be at least another week, but I could cancel my order if I liked. I noticed that they had already relisted the item. What a sham.
I have noticed that it appears that UBID might be fixing the bids. I have seen an item with 20 units. One person starts the bidding with a high bid on all 20. There are only 4 other bids. So he wins 16 of the 20. Then the same item is listed again and the same guy does the same thing. Why bid so much for somthing that could have been won with a much lower bid? This practice is unethical, but more importantly, it's illegal. But, it would be difficult to prove without law enforcement involvement.
I have been buying from uBid since about the time they began doing business. I even met some of the uBid folk at CES one year. I never had a problem with them except for the high shipping fees. Let me tell you when you do have a problem be prepared for hell. The billing dept will be quite useless and VERY mean. They will even go to the extent of calling you a fraud (but use more words of course). After having done thousands of dollars of business with them I am glad to say I will do no more. Thank you uBid and goodbye.
