Had the unfortunate experience of dealing with this company recently. Placed an order for a Nikon D70s plus Nikkor 18-70mm lens plus memory card
and bag and tripod and cleaning kit.

Price quoted for the pack was excellent even beating their own website for the camera and lens only!!(obviously no intention of selling the pack at the quoted price). Received an email from JoeyG 'out of Brooklyn' asking that I call to discuss the order. When I called he says that the lens in stock was a plastic lens(?) from some unknown manufacturer and that I obviously wanted the glass lens but would have to pay more for that. When I read out the order details quoting the Nikkor 18-70mm description he got irate saying he didn't have it(this is a very common lens these days) and that I would have to wait 3 months and pay more for it when it arrived. When I got irate he said I should buy from someone else and he would cancel the order. He then hung up the phone. When I called back to speak to 'Customer Services'. Another 'salesman' picked up the phone and promptly hung up when I asked for their customer service department.

Steer very clear of these crooks, they should be put out of business as soon as possible for these practices.

I never write these reviews, but I feel so strongly here I will. AVOID these guys like the plague. They are a CLASSIC bait and switch operation. I ordered a refurbished Samsung L-300 ten inch portable DVD at a very low price of $196. I need this exact unit because I own five batteries for it already. They call and try to get you to accept a Panasonic highly inferior unit saying they are doing you a favor since this item has been "oversold" by them and is out of stock. Ah, if you don't have any more DON'T LET YOUR WEB SITE SELL MORE OF THEM! Anything other than that is just blatant bait and switch. These guys are tantamount to criminals. Pure fraud.

Was somewhat leary about on line purchase of a $850 TV, but that was unfounded worry.Placed order on line Thursday and on the following Friday the tv was set up and working in my living room.Web site posed no problems for ordering and received emails in timely fashion. There was a delay in process because order is confirmed by telephone and I didn't use cell phone for few days.Delivery was setup via home phone (message on answer machine on Wed)returned call Wed 5:00 for Friday between 2:00&5:00.At 4:50 van rolled in driveway and was gone in less than ten minutes. The package was un damaged on content complete.I would not hesitate to buy from "The New Connection " in a heartbeat

These guys are total pieces of crap. I have to admit though....if you do your homework you can have a lot of fun with these pussies. I called and asked about the Sony HVR-A1U Camcorder. I wanted to confirm the price. The pussy that answers the phone tells me that the price listed on the website is for the body only. I tell him that the camera has a fixed lens and doesnt come off. Silence. At least the turd knew when to shut up. These pussies really talk a big line of crap on the phone....I bet they would cry like a little girl if they actually had to stand in front of a male customer. Seriously....what a collection of retarded little pussies.

Am I the lucky one? I heard that Fotoconnection had cheap prices from another review on another website. I visited, noticed that the Sony HDTV I wanted was literally 1/2 the price than the local big box store, and placed the order. In the anticipation, I kept on looking around and found all the negative reviews of this company. Freaking out, I actually called my credit card company to make sure that I had some type of protection if my $800 somehow didn't convert into a new TV in my living room. Well, here I am with a spectacular product, which came exactly when they said it would and making me feel like a bandit with what I paid. As you may have read in other reviews, I did get the "confirmation call" and six e-mails in 12 hours telling me I had to call in. I simply told them I didn't want their cables or warranty they offered. Kevin, the salesman was reasonable and courteous. Well, I didn't count my chicks before they were hatched, but they've turned out beautifully. If you're looking for a GREAT deal, I'd say go for it. If you're looking for peace of mind and can't stand crossing your fingers, then go ahead and pay nearly double at another website. Should I have the need for another electronics purchase, I would probably be 80% likely to purchase from these guys again. (Oh man, my Sony KD30xs955 is so sweet.)

FotoConnection is also TVsDepot. I ordered product on 12-06 and the product had not been shipped. Their sister store sent the product and overcharged my credit card. I did not realize both stores are the same. Don't do business with any company in Brooklyn. They are all the same.

DON'T DO IT!!! I never take the time to write these reviews, but I will in this case. The experience I had with fotoconnection is the most blatant form of fraudulent advertising I have come across in years. I did not listen to the reseller ratings and ordered through these guys anyway and that was a huge mistake. I ordered a TV on a Thursday and forgot all about it deciding that the TV would show up when it showed up. I get a call on Sunday evening from a guy who is their "representative". Not only did he insult me with the bait and switch tactic, he actually told me that there were two television sets for the purpose of warranty and that I needed to buy the one that had the $300 warranty because it was a better product and he had that one in stock. I told him no thanks to the warranty. At first, he told me "the one" without the warranty was backordered and the only model he had was the one with the "US" warranty. When I called him on this, he became hostile and insisted I purchase the warranty. I refused and cancelled the order. I am keeping an eye on my credit card. Absolutely unbelievable.

I traced fotoconnection.com to these people. What a scam! Bait and Switch. Won't sell product without adding $3200 for the TV stand that Panasonic says comes with the TV. Wanted to convince me that Panasonic had only a 30 day warranty, when they have 1 year. Tried to bump up proice for 'insurance.' BAIT & SWITCH.

A bit of a delay to confirm order, and a few days delay in shipping, but not all that bad. They did manage to sell me a 3 yr ext warranty (for a very small pittance -- and they were very polite over the phone --they were not the usual high pressure or bait and switch).

Some of their prices are quite good, and some are out of the market, so shop carefully. Their web prices move around a bit, so timing your order is critical.

Tried to buy Sony trv 950 with overnight delivery for Xmas. Paid with Amex. When I called for tracking info they said they wanted $340 more for product. They said advertised unit was "PAL" which is a lie.

"Hey Captain, you gunna cancel eh? Okay partner"

I thought I was talking with the jerky boys or something. Gonna keep my eyes on my credit card for the next few weeks.

These guys seem to be con artists!!! They tried the old bait and switch on me when I tried to order a fuji finepix off of their website. I got the same email that said I had to call and confirm the order. When I called, the salesman went into the normal spill about the accessories, except he told me that I needed to order some since my order was for a “gray market” unit and would only come with the camera and nothing else, not even a battery. Then he prompted me to get the retail version for an extra $150. I thought about haggling to get the original price, but decided that I just didn’t want to deal with slime balls who would try this tactic in the first place. So, I told him I’d call him back. I looked on the web page and saw nothing ambiguous, it described the camera and its accessories as if they were one unit and still had the same price listed. I called back and told them that I wanted to cancel my order and got transferred around the world to at least ten different people. Most responded with “Cancel!?! Why!?!”. I simply told them that I had decided not to purchase the item now, and they all just hit the transfer button. Finally I got a guy who asked for the order number and abruptly said “Fine, it’s cancelled!”. Thankfully, these jerks practice so many questionable practices that they got caught in their own web of deception. If they had not been so greedy to get me to call and get an accessories spill, they might have just shipped me a gray unit and charged me immediately. Who knows, maybe the BBB makes them do the call and confirm thing since they are misrepresenting the orders, but we all know they use that tactic to try to pressure you into the high priced accessories too. At any rate, it sure seems like they list competitive prices on their site and on the price compare sites and even allow you to place an order for that price, but then change the story when you call. Bottom line: Don’t deal with these crooks!!

I called 1 Stop on August 21,2001 to place an order for an Olympus E-10, TCON 300, SIGMA EF500 FLASH. I told them I would call them back, so when I went home I called back with a credit card number and the salesperson started to talk crazy saying do you want a G1 RECORDER, I told him no that is not what I called for. All of a sudden the phone went silent(salesperson) hung up the phone. I called back and try to resubmit my order, and the salesperson said when are you going to give us back the G1 Recorder that you took from us.I told him, he guy I don't know what you're talking about, but i'm trying to place an order. He hung up the phone. I then called back and tried to talk to the manager, and he told me never to call back, and he didn't need my business. Good thing I recorded the all of the conversations with each salesperson now Better Business Bureau is involved and soon this company will be off limits to all military personal in the U.S. Do not buy from this company very rude, and don't know what they are talking about. Watchout for there European Version instead of the US version.

I purchased an Olympus 2100 UZ online because after several searches they had the best price. I received an email stating that I must call an 800 number before they could process my order. I placed the call and talked to the sales person and confirmed the internet price was indeed the correct one, but he tried to convince me that the Olympus only carreid a six month warranty and tried to sell me an extended warranty. I knew that the Olmypus carried a mfg one year warranty on this product because I had been to their website and got the spec's on this camera. Olympus also warned about gray market units and told how to watch for them. Next, the sales person tried to sell various accessories at inflated prices, but when I told him that I could purchase locally at a cheaper price, he dropped the prices considerably. For the final sale, i did purchase a three year warranty at less than $200 dollars from his original price he quoted and a lens filter kit. I received the camera and accessories in three days and it was definitely in USA packaging and product. I am satisfied with my purchase except for high pressure sales for additional items. I saved $60 from the nearest competition.
