I've had my computer now for just over a day, but I've already begun to see why I was only able to find glaring reviews of this company on the Internet and in magazines. First of all, I was initially attracted to iBUYPOWER for value. I needed a fast, powerful, feature-rich system with high-end components. It is hardly possible to find such a system when you are on a limited budget. On their website, I was able to customize a computer to suit my needs exactly without making any compromises. Since the price adjusts on the fly, it is easy to see how changing one component affects the price and it is easy to get the system you want for the price you need. I tried many other companies, having the iBUYPOWER website open simultaneously. Every time I made a comparison, I chuckled and moved on to the next site. I quickly realized that they have no competitors; they are in a class of their own. There is no way that I could have gotten a computer as nice as I did for the price that I did from anywhere else. And I did my homework. This from someone who has been an avid computer user for over 20 years. Since I decided to go with iBUYPOWER, I've made several phone calls to the toll-free number. Everyone who has answered the phones has been extremely friendly and very knowledgable. Great customer service and great value will keep me coming back. I ordered my system and received it 6 days AHEAD OF SCHEDULE. This is unprecedented in the computer industry. Out of the box, everything is working great, is configured well and is put together solidly. I am very impressed. Ususally, before I turn on a new computer, I open the case and reseat boards, move things around, and tidy up. One look at this system and I knew that it was put together by someone who knows and cares about computers. On a side note, a friend of mine ordered a computer one week before me from a BIG company that I urged her to avoid. She's still waiting for her computer which was supposed to arrive days ago. Next time, I told her, go with iBUYPOWER!

Assembly, testing and shipping was faster than I had expected, and everything is working exceptionally well. 512 MB ram, MSI KT3 Ultra, AMD Athlon 2000, Radeon 9000 pro for video, 80 GB HDD, plus the rest of it ran $750 - and most PC's in the area that compare to this in performance run closer to $1000. I'm happy with iBuyPower - I'll probably order from them again when it comes time to replace or upgrade.

This was my first purchase from iBUYPOWER.COM, but it won't be my last. I have ordered from several online PC makers (including one of the famous "boutique" companies) but this has been the best experience yet. They have the most flexible and detailed online "configurator" I've ever used and they are very responsive to customer questions. Their prices are excellent too. And when my unit arrived (about a week ahead of their original delivery estimate!) I couldn't have been more pleased. Everything appears to be put together very well and it's been performing like a champ. They even installed a case window that I didn't order (apparently free of charge). Extremely cool! I highly recommend iBUYPOWER.COM.

About 6 mos. ago I bought a new 2000+ AMD computer from iBuyPower. I am writing you to tell you how pleased I am with the computer and especially with the courteous and prompt service I have gotten from the entire staff at iBuyPower. The computer is magnificent. It is large enough to add many more drives and CDs and it works very well. I paid a very reasonable price, with no pressure to upgrade. The few problems I have had have been taken care of promptly and there has been no effort to duck responsibility or make me feel guilty in any way. This is such a welcome change from the usual hard time I’ve been exposed to on a regular basis from most computer associated businesses that I thought I would tell you.
In another 18 mos. or so I will be buying a new computer, it will definitely be from iBuyPower.

I am happy with ibuypower. I got a good price on a superior unit. The online ordering was easy. I talked to a friendly competent sales person. They shipped before they said that they would. It arrived in good condition. One minor problem with an obscured card marking (I am not as knowledgeable as some) was quickley resolved by a call to tech. I will recomend them to others.

Just want everyone to know how pleased I am with my new Gamer Pro computer. I had begun my search last November and toured the various sites like Dell, Gateway, Compaq/HP, etc. but could not find exactly what I wanted on their customizing screens. Then I narrowed my choices to GenTech, AT Group, ABS, and ibuypower. After careful comparison, I decided on ibuypower because of the following: good feedback here at Resellerratings.com, honest cutomer comments on their own website, the ability to get exactly what I wanted in a computer, and price. While the last group of potential purchasing options mentioned above all had good customizing screens, etc., ibuypower had the best pricing for what I wanted. When I ordered, I told Steve that I had done my research and was expecting a great pc right out of the box. The pc shipped two days ahead of schedule and it arrived in excellent condition. The best part was that it worked perfectly right out of the box and is doing everything I had expected it would do. This is only my second brand new computer and since I purchased this pc with an eye to several years of use, I don't know when I will be buying another new computer, but when I do I am coming right back to ibuypower.com. The reputation, pricing, quality control, and ahead of schedule shipping all have made me a very satisfied customer. Thank You for making my purchasing experience a pleasant one, indeed!

Top quality product at a real bargain price. This is my 8th pc purchase, first from Ibuypower.com. but definitely not my last).
Connie in sales was really helpful in configuring the system. I needed a fairly strong system for work at home. As a consistent, but not hard core gamer, I thought I could only drool at the top of the line video and sound cards with a really cool case with a window and light. With Connie's help, I ended up with a combination that will work well for the next 4 years in all areas. P4 3.06, Radeon 9700 Pro, 120 gb hdd at 7200rpm, Audigy, a couple of extra lighted case fans 4 extra USB 2.0 and firewire ports, +++, all for less than $2K delivered.
The system was delivered on 3/26 and I set it up 3/30. Everything worked perfectly right out of the box and the whole family has been fighting over access. The only solution to that is more Ibuypower. We will be back. Thanks for a great experience.

I recently ordered a new computer system from your company for the first time. The system was shipped prior to promised date, was professionally packaged and works like a dream. I have had it almost a month and can honestly say it surpasses all expectations. I would have no reservations about ordering another system in the future from your company.

I made a decision to buy a computer in December 2002, and then decided on what I needed in it. After almost 2 months of shopping stores, websites, and friends opinions, I bought a magazine and visited some websites that offered custom builds. After visiting ibuypower.com, I could not find any other business that could even match their price or quality. I even printed my order sheet from ibuypower, and then took it to other retailers in my area to see if they could meet or beat the price(their motto), but the closest one could only come within $300 over the cost of ibuypower! I am very satisfied with all the components I purchased from ibuypower, and will use them again. I have already told ten people I know that are thinking of a new computer purchase about ibuypower.com and will continue to tell others of my great purchase!

Began my research looking at Alienware, Falcon and IBuyPower offerings in terms of Price, Company Reputation & Compentancy, Return Policy and to some extent Technical Support.

First, Price was considerably lower than Alienware and Falcon. I purchased a $2600.00 system, and for the same components, Alienware and Falcon was charging over $4000.00.

Reputation & Competency was satisfactory. I called the sales staff 3 times to ask various questions to test their knowledge, and the first two people I spoke with gave me incorrect information or they gave me information that was prewritten on the retail box. The third person was knowledgable and adequately answered my questions. So I ordered the system Online so I can get a reciept and have documentation.

Haven't needed to return anything, but reading through the policies It was enough to sway me to buy.

When I received the system (on time), the packaging was excellent, and there were a few manuals that came along, but obviously they were not the retail versions of the manuals. Also, I found that the sound card that came with system was not seated correctly, but decided to try technical suipport to see what they said. The tech person answered on the second ring and when I described the error I got, he said that the card was not seated. So I was pleased that they sounded compentant. Unfortunately, the card could not be seated and screwed securely to the tower at the same time becuase the card would not reach or if it did, it caused the card to unseat. So I'm not sure how they tested the machine with sound with the card screwed in.

Oh yeh, wanted to mention that the light inside the case is activated by sound, and to activate the sound you need to plug it into one of the output jacks of the sound card. But if you want three channel sound, you have to hook the speakers to use all three jacks, so it is impossible to hook the light and the speaker system at the same time since there are only 3 output jacks. (Sound card was the Audigy 5.1)

Overall I am please with the system.

This was my first time purchasing from IBUYPOWER.com. The site was very easy to use and customize a variety of system specs. I ordered my system via the i-net. The next day, I received an email stating my ordered was confirmed and that they expected no delays since all parts were in stock. Also included in the email is a secured web site link, that gives an updated status with your order, displaying the Confirm, Build, Burn-in test, and Ship dates. I feel this is a nice touch since the consumer doesn't have to call and verify the status of the order through the process.
I received my system 3 days ahead of time. The computer was very well shipped in top notch condition. All hardware and software was installed and configured properly, a real treat considering past experiences with other companies (Gateway, LegendMicro). All misc hardware was included: extra cables, manuals, screws, adapaters etc. I am very pleased with my system, the quality of service, and the speed at which I received my goods.
To be honest I waited a couple weeks before posting this review, because I thought I could eventually find something to bitch about, but for once, I can't find anything :) IBUYPOWER comes highly recommended from me.

OUTSTANDING! I did a lot of research (alienware/hypersonic/ect) and these guys provided the same hardware for $400 to $600 less! I may not get a customized folder like alienware has but I DO have 600 more smacks!
I spent lots of time on their website (www.ibuypower.com) using the "configure system" menu to build a Athlon DDR333/400 system. They had lots more choices of mobos, vid cards and processors to choose from than almost all the other places. I was able to get exactly what I wanted within my price range no problem.
I then called their order phone number instead of using the website cause I wanted a human contact incase I had any questions (which I had tons of) or problems (which Ive had NONE of). I talked to BRIAN. He was a great salesperson. I used to work computer hardware retail myself (www.computerdeli.com) so I know what its like to work with "questiony" customers but Brian was very patient and knowledgeable. He didnt even get upset when I changed my system 3 times in 3 days! : ) (thanks Brian) He also had good suggestions about where I could spend a little more to get more performance or where NOT to spend money as it wouldnt be the most bang for the buck. Not many salespeople today will talk you OUT of a purchase! So if you go with this company. I can personally vouch for BRIAN as an excellent sales rep.
I got my rig about 2 weeks after the order. (a little early cause I was impatient and had Brian change my shipping, which he did no prob) They spend plenty of time making sure it is constructed properly and burned in and quality tested! Its hard to wait but they dont make you wait unnecessarily.
The computer is great! Fast as hell (at least for this month : ) Everything is exactly as I ordered it. All the manuals and disks and extra cables are provided.
I cant imagine a better company with better prices.
If you think the big boys are the only ones able to build quality systems you are wrong. Save money and get IBUYPOWER! Now if they would only change their name ! : )

I bought the nForce2 custom configuration. I opted for a Leadtek Winfast K7NCR18D-Pro Mobo with an AMD Athlon 2800+ (with the new "Barton" core that has double the L2 cache on chip). Additions included an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro, 80 gig WD HD with 8 MB cache. Everything else was pretty standard. System arrived almost a week earlier than scheduled, which was great. I got it in about a week and 1/2 with no rush and no extra shipping costs. I got the HD formatted with no OS, but I had no trouble installing WinXP and got everything to work easily with the driver CD's included. I am very happy with the performance and the price was under $1,300 (no monitor) so I think it was as good a deal as it out there.
Only thing that was "wrong" with the system was that the Mobo was not the Pro version as listed on the specs. I am guessing they ran out of stock of the Pro boards because I see now on the web-site that they don't offer the Pro version anymore. The only thing the Pro had that the regular board didn't was IEEE-1394 (firewire ports). But to rememdy this they included an addon IEEE-1394 PCI card that wasn't included in the spec. Only issue now is that I have 4 PCI slots and 2 of them are used for USB 2.0 & IEEE-1394 cards, respectively. So I only have 2 free PCI slots and an ACR (audio/communication riser) slot that I don't think I'll have any use for! This is something to think about if you have or will want to add PCI cards! I have a TV tuner PCI card to add and I will be down to one free slot and that slot is right below the AGP slot and there may be an issue of heat from video card if airflow is hampered. One thing to consider with the Leadtek MoBo is they only have 3 sound jacks. It is not a concern if you want to use the Dolby Digital out, but not many people will have a Dolby decoder in their computer room. You can still get 6 speaker analog out, but you have to reconfigure (within the software) to use the MIC & Line-In jacks to support rear speakers and a subwoofer/center channel. You can't do 5 or 6 speaker analog and still use a Microphone or Line-Input, just something to keep in mind.
I also added a second 120gb HD from my old system and had no problems at all installing it and it was automatically recognized. In addition, I like the windowed case and the red cold cathode light looks great. I am very satisfied... Overall, my experience is a 9/10.
UPDATE: I called customer support because the 5.1 analog sound output wasn't working on the non-Pro MoBo and they are sending me a SB Live 5.1 sound card. Excellent! This review was modified by its author, jmcfarland, on
3/14/03 4:18 PM.
