Where to begin. I ordered a PC from iBuyPower on 10/15, checked the order status on their site and saw that credit approval had been granted on 10/17, then.....silence.
On the 22nd or so, I called to check status with a rep, and was told that they should be building it by now, but didn't seem too sure. So I sent an email, and recieved assurances by Jeff that my order should ship by the October 29th - Nov 5th or 6th. Not great, but at least something.
On 10/26, with no updates to the website, I called and was told that due to iBuyPower's new business arrangements with Newegg.com, Costco, etc. that they had no clue when my order would ship or if it was even being built. The male rep had the tone and attitude that I probably have when the sheriff's department calls around Christmas for donations a week after they wrote me a speeding ticket. His cool indifference to my questions started to send up red flags, after all I was a customer, not a telemarketer.
By 10/31, no updates had been made to the website, still just showed credit approval on 10/17. I called, and talked to the very polite and friendly Pauline, who informed me that the reason for the delay on my system was due to a motherboard they were waiting on. I immediately asked her to cancel my order, which she did.
All of the delays, excuses, poor communication, and indifference to the customer that I experienced can be found here on this site in the other reviewer's posts. It only stood to reason that if I kept going with iBuyPower that I would experience the other half (the missing components, unwired hardware, and horrid returns stories.)
Directly due to the customer testimonials and ratings here, and my own experiences, I canceled my order. Other than my conversation with Pauline, my dealings with iBuyPower was a nightmare. So thank you, Resellerratings.com, I feel as though I have sidestepped a landmine.

These people are incompetant. The computer arived with wires unattached. The system was not set up to reboot from a startup disk, so when i had a crash the computer needed to be sent back to the manufacterer. It took the company 6 weeks and repeated calls for them to admit they even admit they HAD my computer. When they finaly sent it back they installed a slightly different version of windows vista, which they couldn't get an activation number for. They told me to call microsoft, who told me go back to the manufacturer who had to charge me for a new system. I wouldn't buy a comadore from these people. I ordered from Ibuypower 3 years ago for the pc I am still using to this day. Was incredibly happy with them and decided to give them another try.
Bad idea.
Not only is it all but impossible to reach them via telephone, they don't answer emails. When(after three 45 minute waits) I demanded to talk to someone about cancelling my order. I was given a date of weeks that made me finally decide to cancel the order. Problem is they still haven't cancelled it!(I will edit when they finally do). It has been an utter disaster that really makes me wonder how this company collapsed so badly in three years.
I chose to go with cyberpower afterwords and so far things have gone well(they actually answered an email!!). I will of course edit this if they actually manage to cancel my order, and post my review for cyberpower when the computer is done.

ordered my pc the 23rd of Oct.. after 3 weeks all that they'd done was charge my ccard. Their phone support was an abortion to say the least, with wait times averaging 45mins to an hour.. Tho, i will say their staff is very friendly and helpful (once you finally get to them).
after 4 weeks or so i cancelled my order.. i couldnt take the wait anymore. the bs reasons i was getting for the delay only served to make me angrier "b/c we're serving costco, we're backed up" "had a system overhaul, so we're backed up" etc etc
ended up going to alienware, from order date to the day i had it in my hand, it took 4 days.. pc is top of the line and has no problems. sure, it cost a little more, but its well worth it imo.. just for timeliness of service alone, not to mention quality.
wouldnt order another pc from ibuypower if i had to.

This company is the worse. I've ordered one PC from them, and had a terrible time trying to order a second. Here are the complaints:
- Ordered a PC with NVDA Geforce graphics..guess what? The video card presented problems about a month into using it (lines appearing and color distortion). Well i took it out to look at it..and discovered it was some generic card. I may be wrong, but all geforce 7600 and up, have fans and not JUST a heatsink. So they charged me for a relatively mid-level to high end card, but gave me some crap generic one that doesnt even list the manufacturer.
-needed an expedite order for a second PC (this is before the VC problem). Got it all submitted. They asked for more verification because my shipping address was different from billing. Well I faxed them the info and called to verify they received. Well one week into it..my order is still listed as pending. I call and after a very long wait, they inform me that they will get it processed. So another week, still same thing. Call again, and they said order was cancelled because of some bull reason like "your mom cancelled the trans." Well 1) I am 30 2) the card is under my company's name and 3) no one bothered to call or email me (yes they had that) about the status. Just a cancel with no information?

Ok so, here's the deal. I have gotten the laptop. It has had problems from day one. I spoke with Lee, and he offered a refund. I told him NO... I want this laptop, or one that works. He sent me a shipping label and they paid the shipping. NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!!
However, I work at MicroSoft, (Volt) and was in the middle of doing an upgrade on the labs that I am a Network Admin for and was extremely busy, and with the holidays, I didn't get it done.
I wasn't able to get the laptop shipped. So, I sent another email to Lee, and guess what?! He sent me ANOTHER Shipping label!!! Once again, NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!! He responded to my email within 24 hours!
I will let you know how it goes with the Laptop, but for now, I'm still happy with them. Lee has been very accommodating with me. For those of you who are claiming that they wont pay shipping, or that they are rude, and how much you hate this company, I think that "SOME" of these people are full of CRAP!!! Maybe not all, but, some most certainly are!
Look people, parts go bad, sometimes even BRAND NEW parts go BAD!!! Thats the way it goes! Deal with it! But to say that these guys are not great to work with is a lie! PERIOD!
Lee, thanks a lot, the support is awesome and thank you for all of your help so far!
Scott
Extremely happy
My experience with this company has been VERY good so far! Yes, getting through to them is hard to do, so I sent an email to Lee, and gave him my phone number, and he called me back within 10 mins. Let me see someone from Dell do that! I made some changes to my order, and so far everything has gone PERFECT! I have read through most of these posts, and I have to say, I'm sorry that others have had a not so good experience with them.
Let me just say, don't let this keep you from ordering from this company. They have gone out of their way to make sure that my order is EXACTLY what I want. Lee went over my options, explained everything clear and concisely to me.
So far, they have done an outstanding job! I have a good friend that ordered a laptop from them, and he was extremely happy with his purchase. I am sure that I will be as well.
I will keep you all informed and updated, but, so far, they have done everything to make sure that no mistakes are made, even with all of my changes.
GOOD JOB LEE!!!
Don't let any poor reviews keep you from using this company! They are WAY better than DELL, and so far, they blow away Gateway compared to my last purchase from them!
WOW....What a difference a short amount of time makes with this company!!! So, here's what happened.
If you have read all of this so far, thank you! My opinion has changed about this company! After I shipped back my laptop, I had to call them, over and over, and was put on hold, over and over. I was having to send Lee email, after email... all in all, a total of 19 emails that went unanswered!!!
So I called at this point, I spoke with Lee, and he put me through to the RMA dept. They were able to tell me that the memory was bad. Ok, fine np.
Then, I got the Laptop back from them. When I took it out of the box, there were some pretty deep scratches in the top, and it's looks like someone slid it across the desk on the lid. I was pissed. Then I notice that my power Adapted no longer works!
They wouldn't ship me out a new one, until I shipped the broken one back to them. I told them that I would ship it back, and get them the tracking number. I needed it for work, and had to get this up and running ASAP!
I needed to have my Laptop working.
When I was on the phone with the Tech support guy, I told him, I just wanted a refund, and he told me, "No, your 30 days is passed, and we wont give you your money back" I said, then i want a new laptop, you guys scratched the lid all up... I'm talking some DEEP scratches. There were also some really deep scratches on my broken power adapted.
So, I'm sure that what happened was, someone dropped my laptop. It wasn't scratched up when I sent it back! So now, Im pissed off!!!
I don't recomend these people. I don't think they are worth the hassle.
Once your 30 days are up, they screw you! Now, I'm stuck with this laptop with HUGE scratches and lots of smaller ones...
Needless to say, I went out and bought me a new power adapter!
Screw this!
My final review, they are great, until your 30 days are all up, then your screwed!!! This review was modified by its author, blackhawk69, on

If I had used this site to review iBUYPOWER.COM I definitely would not have purchased a computer from them. Just like so many other customers I can't reach anyone at their customer service number. It is always busy, even appears to be disconnected. They took my money very quickly and indicated that production would begin on the next business day. That was the last entry on their tracking site. Based on their ad when I purchased the computer I expected it to be shipped 10/23/07. They don't respond to emails either. This company is very poor just based on their inablity to provide a reasonable amount of customer support, for me and many others it appears they are providing none. I will be and I would suggest others to lodge complaints with the Better Business Bureau and possibly the California States Attorneys office.

As you can see I ordered this gaming rig almost 1 month ago. The only reason I got the most recent email (15 Oct) that it had moved to QC was that I called that Monday to inquire on the status of my order. They also told me it would be shipped that Friday, 19 Oct. It is now Wednesday, Oct 24th and have been sitting here for over 1/2 an hour so far trying to cancel my order. Already got disconnected once after waiting the first 1/2 hr. I also used the BillMeLater program they have advertised for 6 months. Funny thing is I got an invoice from BillMeLater saying I owe money on 2 Nov. So I will warn you not to use this service either. Hopefully I will get through to cancel and that BillMeLater will get notified. Will have to call them and make sure.
UPDATE: I was able to finally get through, talked to Lee and canceled my order. I then called BillMeLater to verify the charge was deleted, which it was. Now off to AVADirect for my new system. This review was modified by its author, Ranio, on

I gave this company a chance and they screwed me. They didn't ship the speakers I paid for or the free software they promised. The media card reader they sent me is compatible only with Windows 98, when I asked them to build me a Windows Vista PC. Their phone number is down when you call them; you can never get through unless you call at 8AM their time. It seems they don't want to be accountable for their mistakes. I demand a refund!
DO NOT BUY FROM IBUYPOWER!

I bought a system w/ 8600GT SLI. I paid for "Rush Service" which was a joke and did not ship next day as advertised. No problem. Machine arrived without damage and had all the parts I requested.
Week later one of the video cards go bad. It is IMPOSSIBLE to contact them to get an RMA for the card. I sent e-mail to tech support and they tell me to call customer service. It's been TWO days trying to contact them and all I get is busy signals.
When I did get through (only twice) I had the pleasure to listening on hold music before I get disconnected after 40 minutes. I did this twice, waited on hold to just be dumped.
I tried e-mailing tech support again asking if this can be done thru e-mail.. No response.
Phone support for this company is non existent. I am so frustrated right now with the time I spent trying to fix my issue. I know exactly what is wrong, it would take at most 20 minutes to get it resolved yet I can't get in contact with anyone!
DO NOT PURCHASE from Ibuypower. I am going to try going through evga for the RMA process.
THEY HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO ABILITY TO ANSWER A PHONE.

Never again would I buy from this company nor recommend them to any of my friends.
I purchased my PC on Sept. 22, 2007. At checkout on the site it told me expected shipment date would be Oct. 2, 2007. It didn't arrive until Oct. 18, 2007.
They have terrible customer service. They do not respond to emails and good luck trying to get through by phone. I attempted to call them 2 days before they shipped out to upgrade the OS I had ordered. When they finally answered the phone I was placed on hold for 30 minutes with no final answer. I emailed them numerous times with my upgrade request and they ignored that too.
When my system arrived it wasn't even connected right. They didn't have the HD connected nor one of the fans and they connected the PC speakers outlet to work only from the headphones slot located at the front of the case instead of the back like it's suppose to. They also didn't include the screws needed for my Case's front door hinge.
I am not a PC person, this is why I didn't just build one myself. I ordered it hoping I would be able to plug it in and go. I didn't anticipate having to track down someone to come over and "hook it up" for me.

The ordering process was simple and straightforward, although I would imagine the immense number of options available would overwhelm anybody not knowing exactly what they wanted. The computer was shipped exactly ten days after I placed the order, which is admittedly within the 5-10 days I was told. Upon using the computer, it would freeze and crash every few hours under any sort of load. After trying everything their technical support department suggested for a week, I decided to return the computer. Their customer service department decides it likes to place people on hold for over half an hour at a time as well as giving people the wrong RMA number.

Thank you GNE, for taking the time to post a feedback. We are sorry for any inconveniences that you might have experienced with our system. We hope you can understand that it is very hard for a technician to provide technical support over the phone and try to "guess" at what could be causing the problem from your description. A lot of information would be lost in translation.
We have been experiencing an unusually high amount of call volume so we are sorry if you were put on hold for a longer period of time. Our reps would not purposely give you a wrong RMA number as well, we are sorry for the misunderstandings between yourself and our reps.
Thanks,

This is an awful company. I placed an order almost a month ago and it shill hasn't shipped. Today i had to send an email asking for a refund because the i kept getting a busy signal whenever i called. I also called last week and got the same busy signal whenever i called so today isn't the first time. If you want a new system you are better off building it yourself than go to this company. If anyone knows of any other ways i can go after this company to get my full refund please contact me and let me know.

Do NOT buy anything from ibuypower.com
1. The QC does not exist. Products I ordered were NOT shipped.
2. The new monitor (Viewsonic) and this PC would not work. I took the monitor to a computer store - works fine. After about 2 hours, the computer / monitor "looses" its connection. The ONLY way to get the monitor to work again is to turn the computer off.
3. The CS manager at ibuypower does not care about their customers who spend money. Rather than work with me to get the problem fixed, all they want to do is "Refund your money."
4. They refused to send the other products I had ordered and PAID for because they did not know if I was going to send their computer back to them. That is NOT their decision to make.
5. I left their computer off for 2 days. This AM, I turned their computer on, and NOW the windows Vista does NOT work. The screen is telling me "this is not an original product." I previously told them to send me the Microsoft disks and manuals that I PAID for. They have done NOTHING!
This is the WORST computer company I have EVER dealt with. I should have stuck with Dell, and KNOW the product would work from day 1.
I SAY AGAIN - DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS WORTHLESS COMPANY. I have asked for the CEO/President of the Board, someone in top management to contact me. They have not!

Thank you "Special Agent Susan007" for taking the time to post a review for our company. We at Ibuypower are always open to constructive critcism, however we feel that you have many invalid points in your review.
If you had a problem with the computer, we would do our very best to resolve it with you and get you a working computer, we WOULD NOT and DO NOT request our customers to return the system for a refund unless they are absolutely unreasonable in their demands. A demand for a refund are always made by an upset customer. You claimed that you did not receive a few items from your order and we shipped them out to you right away. We have done everything possible to go above and beyond to exceed normal needs.
With all due respect even with your 007 special agent status we doubt Michael Dell would get on the phone with you to address a problem with his computer. Please also look at their ratings on this website. It's 2.94 as of today.

I'm cancelling my order with IBP because they've already shown a remarkable lack of support. They don't answer their phones; they leave them hanging all day. That's simply unacceptable, and it's a big red flag for me not to buy a computer from them. I'm going with someone more trustworthy.
Edit: After an ibuypower rep saw that I posted this review, he called me to ask that I edit the review because they are currently having problems with their system. So I gave the store a second chance and ordered a big computer with them, even going as far paying $100 extra dollars for next business day shipping on the custom computer. They didn't ship it out on time, but they still happily took my money.
