My laptop sometimes does not boot and has had this problem from day 1. I am about to send it back for the 3rd time and yesterday had the worst customer service experience of my life. They refused to replace or refund my purchase and told me that if the problem never was resolved, I would just have to keep sending it back. I was hung up on once and someone even called me back and left a harassing message on my voice mail. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience our product has caused. Despite the abusive language our reps received, we would like to apologize for any miscommunications between us. We did act professionally and attempted to be very flexible and reasonable with regard to our warranty, and we feel that we made a fair offer for refund or rebuild but it was not accepted. We do stand by our products and will continue to offer support.
Very poor customer service. Ordered June19, called them back few days later to add the rush job to ensure I will get it on time and found out that the order was on hold for a backorder dvd player. Would be nice if they let you know that. Tech offered to upgrade to another dvd, which i accepted and I asked to upgrade to a rush order. She convinced me only to do the 5 day option since it had been more than five days already. My credit card was charged right away. Few days later called back to check status, since they dont update the online status page(still shows credit card charged 6/22) found out from another tech that he had no idea what the last tech promised, but could see that I paid for a rush order. He stated its in build status and couldnt offer any other info. Not rude just useless. Its now July 8th and still nothing. They havent responded to numerous emails I have sent them. Very poor service... I hope my system is at least in good shape when it comes.
Quick update.. seems as of today, July 9th all of a sudden my status page is updated to reflect it was shipped on July7th. Should arrive today.. Not horribly late.. Lets hope it all works..
They did email me back to tell me so.. so some improvement, still slow on responding in my opinion.

DO NOT BUY FROM IBUYPOWER!!!! Customer service is non-existent. They will ship you $1800 computers that don't work out of box. I spent over 10 hours of my own time working with their tech support only to find a faulty video card, they shipped me a new card, which worked, I reinstalled windows and all apps, returned their faulty video card to them for $50, only to find out that it's "MY" fault for not calling them for a return lable, so, I eat the $50!! "Sorry, it's our policy and your problem" After 45 minutes of arguing the guy wants me to shut up for $10. Sorry ibuypower, it's not the money, it's the point. Computer still will not recognize disk drive; I'm sure I could fix it myself working again with their tech support, but after dealing with ibuypower's "customer service", I will have them eat the cost of shipping it cross country. They will not be in business much longer, so, I would not recommend any warranty beyond a year, they will not be there to fix it...Reply to reply- I have a dragon AMD system so you did not upgrade me to a NVIDIA card, get your facts straight. Also, I don't claim to spend $53, I have a receipt which I offered to fax you. I insured it, which I'm glad I did because knowing you guys, you would have claimed to never receive it and then you would have invoiced me $425 for it. You guys are arrogant, and just plain uncouth, which is what drove me to eventually give up on a 45 minute yelling match. So adios M.F. I will never do business with you again.

Smidsbro,
Thank you for taking the time to post this review as you so kindly told our reps you would unless we gave you monetary compensation. While there was a problem with the video card when you received the system, we kindly gave you a free upgrade to the best Nvidia GTX 295 card for your inconvenience. Instead of calling us and requesting a return label, which we would have gladly sent you, you took it upon yourself to send it back by yourself and demand that we reimburse you. Common sense would have been to request a return label from the company, not send a video card, which is less than 1 lb, back to the company and use profanity to demand over $50 that you claim you spent to return it. Also from our recordings none of the remarks that you put in quotes were spoken by any of our reps. We did get plenty of "f..u" from you and "adios mother f-er" which we did not feel was called for. We are very sorry things did not work.
Best regards,
IBP
I ordered my computer March 16th. I recieved it April 6th (23 days). They said that they got a large number of orders and were behind. They said they would ship it 2 days due to the delay but ended up normal ground (6 days). Out of the box I could see that the HDD was loose laying on the MB not even in the rack. The HDD ribbon cable broke and the HDD connectors broke. Never even powered it up. Neither of the clip were connected to the HDD. Just to get updated status for delivery cost me >2hours waiting for Lee in customer service. When I called to return I got Lee again. He basically told me I was lying about the drive loose saying that it was impossible for the HDD to come loose. I made the mistake of cussing after spendiing $1600, getting my computer late and broke and being called a liar. His holier than thou attitude did not go over real well. It is April 22 and I spent 23 minutes waiting to find out that they may ship it out by the 24th by normal ground after the manager again said he would ship it back 2 day. I hope it works this time.

Thank you Ottothedog for taking the time to post a reply. We are very sorry that your system was delayed in shipping. However, we did attempt to make up the time difference by giving you a free upgrade in shipping from the ground to the Fed Saver which is 3 business days. The 6 days you are counting is not correct because you are counting the weekend, Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately those are not Business Days. Also when you call our company and ask to speak with a specific person "Lee" instead of speaking with the first available rep. then, yes, you would have to wait for him to finish assisting customers that called before you that are also looking for him. Also after further review of your conversation with him, he never called you a liar. He listened politely while you fed him a profanity-laced complaint about how the system was never put together and just thrown into the case and shipped to you. All he tried to explain to you was that that scenario was impossible, IBP would simply not be in business if that was the case. We also paid for both ways shipping to get the system back, it would not make any sense for us to do that. The damage had to have been done in route to you via Fed Ex. In any event, we have paid to get the system back and will repair it before we ship it back to the customer. We are very sorry once again that things did not go as smooth as we would have liked and any inconveniences this might have caused you.
Ordered my machine from ibuypower 10/24/08, shipped out 11/03/08 and received it within 5 days. I went all out and spent over $2000 on my new desktop from Ibuypower.
I spoke with customer service about ddr3 pc 1600 memory being in stock prior to ordering since they were having stock issues when I spoke with Pauline before. Ibuypower said they had them in stock and put 2x 2 gigs of ddr3 pc 1600 ocz gold to my order. Instead they sent me 4x 1gig corsair pc 1600 sticks, side fan was leaning inside case with screws missing, and slight damage to my case. It was like pulling teeth to get the right memory sent to me and they dropped my call so I had to wait another 30 minutes to talk with customer service again.
I got a great customer service representative the second time I called. Lee at customer service sent me the right memory, screws for side fans, and said they would take $10 off for the slight damage to my case. I never got a $10 credit on my card. Called back about the $10 credit and got Pauline who said she would have it refunded to my card. Still I received no credit. This was the first strike against ibuypower for me. My computer had to be reformatted within the 30 day return period due to a missing windows file.
After two months my computer started locking up and due to the holiday season ibuypower's wait time for customer service was over an hour wait which is understandable. I called ocz and spoke with Jamie who replaced my 2 gig stick of ocz gold that was generating errors on windows vista memory tester.
Thought my problems were over with lock ups, they continued and I reformatted again thinking the bad memory may have caused a corrupt system file. Still got the computer lock ups in windows vista 64bit home premium edition. So I called ibuypower up again and spoke with Luke who was great at understanding my problems with the machine and determined that my Asus Rampage Extreme Intel x48 board was defective, new board shipped on 02/25/09.
Got the board in the mail which was not packed well at all and had bent power sockets, missing heat sink, and broken pci express port. The board looked like it was used and abused. This was another strike to ibuypower for me and when I spoke with Steve he was not helpful at all. They actually wanted me to pay for the shipping to send this broken board back to them. After telling ibuypower that was completely unacceptable they budged and offered to pay shipping to send it back with my original defective board once they sent another new motherboard to me.
The new board shipped on 3/05/09 and was packaged right, nothing broken and so far my computer has only frozen up once when I left it on over night. Sent both broken boards back in the same box, spoke with Steve on the phone again and he brushed me off when I asked if RMA would have both boards tagged to my new RMA number I got. I just did not want to be charged on my credit card if RMA did not know. Another strike to Ibuypower.
Last but not least my 120mm liquid cool cpu fan starting making squealing sounds and was making loud noises. I was able to talk with Luke from tech support and I must say he is the best employee that ibuypower has working for them. He was straight forward and did not give me the run around like everyone else in customer service and tech support I spoke with about my lemon of a computer. He sent a new cpu fan 2 day fedex and I paid for the shipping to send the defective one back.
Finally my computer is working as intended, however I will be telling all my friends, family, interested computer buyers to not buy at ibuypower. This was my second machine I have bought from ibuypower and was a complete nightmare because of overall poor customer service and bad tech support. The only good experience I had was Lee and Luke, they deserve a raise and a pat on the back.
I went to ibuypower.com and ordered a, top of the line PC from them that cost about $2500. It took almost 2 weeks to get the PC and that was with paying for a 2 day rush build. When I got it, the PC would not boot up. I didn't think this would be a huge problem. I figured that it was bumped around by FedEx while it was in transit. After I opened the case to check the hardware and all the connections, you will never believe what I found! The IED cable that went to the CD/DVD Rom burner was worn away, and the wires were rubbing on the video card! This caused the video card and the CD/DVD Rom to short out when I booted up the PC for the first time.
The next day, I called ibuypower.com's Customer Service department. They initially gave me the runaround, but I was transferred to tech support, who promised to send me the replacement parts. I told the tech that this was unacceptable, and I wanted to send back the whole PC for a new one. I was then transferred to their RMA department. After literally 3 hours on the phone, they emailed me a call tag to send it back via FedEx Ground (which took ANOTHER 5 business days to ship from NY to CA). Let's see...I got this PC on the 6th of January, sent it back on the 8th, and ibuypower.com received it on the 16th.
When I called to follow up on the status of my replacement PC, they told me that they would fix the one that I sent back because they said it left their warehouse in brand new condition. I then got angry and was transferred to their Customer Service Manager. He kept me on the phone for another 2 hours to argue over why I was responsible to pay the return shipping fee on a DEFECTIVE computer. I was so aggravated that I finally told him that I wanted my entire order cancelled.
I then had to follow up with this company on a NIGHTLY basis to get the status of my refund, and they played a game of transferring me from Customer Service to their RMA department, leaving me on hold for 15-20 minutes at a time, and telling me that they did NOT have the ability to send me a confirmation email with the refund amount.
I then began researching this company on the Better Business Bureau's website, only to find that they have over 250 registered complaints of a similar nature, and that their rating with this bureau is C+! They obviously did not "make the grade" from a service standpoint. I called night after night for my refund, and it was so bad that their Customer Service department actually knows me by name. I finally called on my birthday, and I actually got my wish! They credited my account on 1/27, and I had to threaten the Customer Service Manager to send me a confirmation email. I had all of my paperwork ready to file a dispute with my credit card company because I did not see the credit post to my account as promised. However, it FINALLY hit my account yesterday.
The good news is...I ordered my new computer yesterday from newegg.com, and I am going to build it myself. The moral of my story is...If you are looking to buy a new PC, do NOT even think about ordering one from ibuypower.com . Hopefully, I can save others from experiencing my heartache.
I am very disappointed with iBuyPower. After ordering a desktop valued at $555.00, we received it in a non-working condition. When we called customer service, the rep was very rude to my employee telling him that he should go online and read the policies of iBuyPower and calling him a few choice names.
After speaking with the manager, we were told that we would have to pay the shipping to return this item even though it is in a non working condition.
The PC that we bought had a defective DVD drive and when we booted it, if you even touched the case, it would lock up the entire system. The only way to shut it down at that point was to unplug the actual system.
We explained that waiting 2 1/2 - 3 weeks was not an option for us since we needed to get this system running now. That is when we were told that this was "the best that we can do".
Overall, I would not rate iBuyPower positively for either its return policies or customer service. Being the IT Manager of a software development company, I can state that our PCs are very important to our business and I WILL NOT be going business with iBuyPower again.
I bought a system priced at ~$1300, and received it fairly quickly (~10 days) although no rush service. Needless to say, I was all excited, only to find out that when I open the box, there is liquid everywhere! The "unbreakable" liquid cooling system had soaked my Mobo, my video card, to the point where I was afraid to even power the system on, fearing that iBuyPower would accuse me of damaging it.
I then decided to return the system for a full refund! Boy, was that a good idea, given all the other horrible stories on this site! I shed another $70 or so from my pocket to return the system, then I got a refund FOR LESS THAN WHAT I PAID, as they accused me of not returning some items (specifically, keyboard and mouse). I mean, seriously, out of all the expensive things in there, and after being willing to pay $1300 for a computer, would I not be able to afford a mouse and a keyboard?!?!
Terrible, terrible company. As others have said, I received NO INVOICE (how do they even know what they sent me if there was no invoice to begin with?!). This had actually made me worried before I even opened the box, because NO REPUTABLE SELLER sends you something with no invoice. In addition, there were no drivers, no CD's , no instructions, no nothing. "Fortunately" I never needed them, since my computer was never turned on...
Fortunately, after reading some of the horrible reviews on this site, I took pictures of everything before sending the unit back, and perhaps I'll even be able to get all of my money back, though I doubt it.
CONCLUSION: if at all possible, go for some better brand. If you've already fallen in their net, return your system at the slightest sign of problems, and if you're lucky to be within the first 30 days, ask for a full refund, don't let them bully you into sending back for repairs. Otherwise, your grace period will expire and you will never get your money back, you'll just keep shipping back and forth every month or so, or you'll have a very expensive foot-rest.
STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!

After carefully analyzing your account and the call records between you and our reps, we are very sad to hear that you are still unsatisfied. Regarding the liquid cooling kit, there are no claims that it is “unbreakable”, nor what we ever make such a claim. While we ship thousands of liquid-cooled systems that arrive undamaged, occasionally one will arrive with leaks. We suspect that rough handling during shipping is the cause. That may also be cause for you not receiving your invoice, which is attached to every computer shipping box in a packing list pouch. Rather than allowing us to replace your system you chose to exercise your right to the “30-day money-back” guarantee we offer, which is understandable. We fully honored this guarantee according to the agreed upon terms and conditions and never attempted to “bully” you or anyone into a repair. Regarding your claim that we did not provide driver CDs or manuals is directly refuted by the pictures you sent, which clearly shows those items. The pictures do in fact show the keyboard and mouse, but that does not in itself prove that they were sent to us.
CONCLUSION: It was definitely unfortunate that the system was damaged in route to you. We are sorry for that and we are disappointed we weren’t afforded the opportunity to send a working system. We did process your refund according to the warranty terms. It is a fact that we did not receive the keyboard and mouse. Our representatives attempted to work with you to resolve this issue, but you instead stated that you didn’t care about the $16 and you preferred to post negative comments to hurt our business. We are very sorry we could not come to a satisfactory agreement but we would still like to thank you for giving us the opportunity to do business with you.
UPDATE: My ibuypower experience has been a total nightmare. I highly recommend looking elsewhere if you expect a quality product and legit customer service.
I ordered a PC from ibuypower on 12/29. As of 1/13, it still has not shipped. The PC was configured with very common parts. The motherboard, power supply, video card, case, etc. are all very common and easily-attained parts. As such, ibuypower reported the status as "materials complete" on 12/31.
It seems as if ibuypower may coerce customers into paying for rush assembly not by really assembling those PC's faster, but simply by delaying PC orders which do not purchase it. Of course, my credit card was charged immediately. Seems if they plan to delay the shipping, they should wait before charging the card.
Buyer beware; either pay rush shipping (and add $100 to the quoted price) or shop elsewhere. I wish I had bought the components on Newegg and simply put it together myself at this point.
UPDATE: The PC arrived on 1/15. The online status still shows as "Materials Complete." The only indication I had that the product actually shipped was when it showed up on my doorstep.
UPDATE: PC RMA'd in early February due to constant crashing. PC was unable to pass memory testing. Paid $100 shipping to RMA. I was told they would install new RAM and mobo. Received box back at the end of February. STILL UNABLE TO PASS MEMORY TESTING. Constant crashing due to memory problems. I don't know if they actually did anything at all to the box. I don't want to RMA and pay another $100 shipping. I wish I could just get my money back at this point and buy something somewhere else.
So five months later, I have a $1400 paperweight.

Not a happy person at all. After doing lots of research, I took a gamble on iBUYPOWER because of their great price. You get what you pay for I found out. My computer arrived on Christmas Eve as a 50 pound paperweight. Here's a list of all the problems, none of which can be contributed to shipping but POOR quality control:
NVIDIA 280 VIDEO CARD - DEAD
Xion METER DISPLAY - only 1 of 3 sensors worked
DVD PLAYER - Had to press HARD to get door to open (2nd DVD player worked as advertised)
CASE - 1 stripped screw that held (or was suppose to hold) the gigabit wireless card.
CASE FAN - Cables were hitting it that made it very noisy
WINDOWS WOULD NOT BOOT PROPERLY - After I swapped out the bad video card with an ATI card that I had, Windows would boot up but after 1 minute, all dialog boxes would disappear, internet connection would be lost, and you could only turn off the computer by holding down the power button. You couldn't use Windows to shut down the computer.
SUBSTANDARD PACKAGING - They don't even follow their own guidelines for packing computers. The computer was inside the case box that was inside another box. The outer box had a 1" piece of foam on the top and bottom, but nothing on the 4 sides. The inner box with the computer in it had about 4 inches of movement to bang against the sides. NOT GOOD
NO DOCUMENTATION/INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS/THANK YOU - There was the computer, a box of power supply cables, and a bag of CDs/DVDs and that was it. There wasn't anything in the box to tell you to inspect it before powering up, what all the extra cables were for (I knew as a techie geek), or even a thank you for buying iBUYPOWER.
So my experience with iBUYPOWER is that they are more concerned with volume than quality. Get it out the door and let tech support fix the problems.
All in all I'd say iBUYPOWER has a SEVERE quality control problem that needs serious attention.
I bought this computer received it Oct 6. It arrived broken. The company sent me a part and I installed it. Got blue screens from day one, and all the tech support kept telling me was "we can get it to work", "this is normal for machines". They failed note my calls to tech support, so beware and keep your own notes about support calls. They convinced me to not use their 30 days money back no questions asked return, and then after I asked for my money back after 30 days they said "sorry its been over 30 days". They tricked me plain and simple. They made me pay to ship the machine back even though it never worked. Unstable PC, suspect quality, double digit phone hold times every time, all day long, deceptive tech support (maybe not all but most), unresponsive and unsympathetic customer service. 80 days after purchase they have my machine to try and repair it, and I am recommending you steer clear of this company at all costs.
UPDATE***** Refund issued only after lodging a dispute with AMEX. I will never do business with IBUYPOWER again and I advise others to do the same. Poor poor customer service is the cornerstone of a business that wont be around for very long.

I had nevered ordered from iBuyPower before but saw some good reviews and thought I would try them.
I called on Nov. 11, talked to a nice representive and ordered a very powerful machine. Gamer Paladin with dual monitors, 64-bit Vista, 8-Gig RAM, etc. Three days later it shipped which was impressive.
Then I get it. I unpack the items and find that I have no DVI video cables for the monitors which is all the graphics card would support. I call up and am told that I needed to order them seperately. I asked why I was not informed of this when I ordered it. I was told that I was just supposed to know it. I recommended that they notify people in the future and he said that everyone knows that and shouldn't have to be told. Funny, other monitors I have bought came with DVI cables.
I manage to find a video cable and hooked up the PC. It doesn't work. It just cycles power. Turns on for 5 secs, turns off for 3, repeat endlessely. I get an RMA and ship it back.
After having the PC back for a week, IBuyPower tells me on 12/5 that it is in final testing. I am told that again on 12/8. Now on 12/9, they say the OS is corrupt and they need two more days to fix it. No mention of the power cycling. It took them only 3 days to build and ship a new one but a week and half to repair it, hopefully.
A month after I originally ordered it and my PC is still sitting at their location. I am not going to say others haven't had good experiences but so far, mine has been less than optimal.
Update: On 12/12, they say that it is fixed but want to test it over the weekend. It is supposed to ship 12/15. I will see.
Update 2: On 12/15, they say the graphics card was bad and needed replaced. More testing required. On 12/16, I ask what is taking so long. They tell me fixing it is a hard task. I ask why they didn't see the corrupt OS during initial testing. I was told that an OS can be damaged during shipping if the machine is dropped.... Huh??? Magnetic bits can fall out of a hard drive if it is dropped?? How do laptops survive? I am a software engineer and have been working on computers full time since 1990 and have never heard this. I even asked our network IT guys and they started laughing at the absurdity.
In any case, the machine did ship late 12/16 and I will pick it up today, 12/19
Update 3: Final update. Sorry for the long post. Picked up the machine and it arrived in pieces. Graphics card was out of its slot. Memory chips has popped out and were broken. Hard drive came out of its bay. Completely useless. I have had enough. Called to say I want to return everything and get my money back. They say it has been more that thirty days and I have to pay for shipping EVEN THOUGH THE MACHINE NEVER ONCE BOOTED. I threatened to sue. They said go ahead, we've been there before and we will win.

This company is a total joke, dont let these rated reviews fool you. This is what happened to me:
On October 27th I placed an order with IBUYPOWER.com my credit car got charged immediately and my order estimate shipping date was due to 10 business days. After 15 days I called them up to find out why my system is not here yet and their sales rep said it will be out for shipping tomorrow. I decided to call 2 days later and found out again that my system is not even in process of building. I was like ok... after a few forum posts on their forums one of their rep called me up and said a few items have been back ordered and its been almost 3 weeks now. I made a recent forum post asking them whats going on and saying that if I dont get my system by this satruday i am going to call my bank and dispute the charge they made. This what I got for reply copy/paste "We always try to work with customers to get their orders out when a problem is discovered. Most appreciate our efforts to correct our short-comings; it's clear others do not. Your story conflicts with my sales rep's account but I won't go into details. Instead I will have your order cancelled today. I'll have your credit processed at our end by end of day today. It might take a few days for your bank to post to your account but we will have it done at our end today"
So they are canceling my order because they cant ship it on time?? and they were going to charge me 65$ for overnight shipping too...
Now tell me what kind of customer service is it?
Or we just get good service at the fine dinning restaurants only these days??
I suggest reading their forums before you buy anything from them. i am not alone who ran into this problem. Be aware!!
They have the most ignorant reps on the forums.

Mr. Sergey has repeatedly distorted the facts. The decision to cancel his order was based on two major factors: 1) he stated he wanted the computer by Saturday or he would cancel the order. With backordered components it was clear that we would not be able to ship in time to accommodate his demand and therefore we wanted to expedite the inevitable for his convenience, as well as to better allocate our own resources; and 2) As evident by repeated immature name-calling, Mr. Sergey was verbally abusive to our staff. Any company, iBuypower included, ultimately reserves the right to refuse service to rude and belligerent individuals. It was in the best interest of both parties to terminate the transaction and part ways. His refund was immediately processed as promised.
I made the mistake of letting my son purchase a custom computer from this company. My bad. First problem we had was with their configuator. Unlike other sites (cyberpower.com) this one allows you to build a system that won't work. we received a phone call 3 days after submitting the order telling us that the power supply was insufficient for 2 graphics cards. we were told we had to upgrade to a 850 watt power supply.$132 on top of our previous upgrade to a 600 watt. The site recommended at least a 500 watt. Then several days later another call. The motherboard only had one PCI express slot and couldn't handle two cards.another upgrade. When I emailed customer service asking for a detail price breakdown on each component,no response. I called and got the rudest, most unprofessional customer service rep ever.He wouldn't tell me what i was paying for my power supply.Their basic system comes with 2gb of memory.my son had upgraded to 4gb's. They charged us for 4, not an additional 2. the rep was VERY disrespectul and I ended up cancelling the order.Still waiting on my $1414 refund. Went to FRY's and custom built a MUCH better system for $80 less. The motherboard they were going to put in my son's $1400 computer cost $54.These guys are a ripoff.DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!!
