I ordered an olympus evolt E-510 from prestige camera because the site I was on gave them a 5 star rating. Called the next day to confirm order only to have a rep try to hard sell "upgrades" which actually are suppose to come with the camera and are extremely overpriced, I took the "upgraded battery" and rapid charger, After I was off the phone I found all the horrible true ratings about this company. I immediately called back and canceled my order, and I'm notifying my credit card company not to accept any charges from that company. What a mess, never again. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE, A TOTAL SCAM.

I wish I had found this website prior to placing my order so I didn't end up wasting my time. As per all the other reviews, when I finally did get through to "verify my order" as requested, I got hit with the usual upselling. I expected this and was prepared to just decline, but then I found out that they were actually trying to sell me the chinese model of the camera that was very clearly advertised on the website as having "an american warranty". This was not the case (the warranty was chinese so if anything went wrong I'd have to send the camera back to china). It also meant the camera couldn't use american accessories and I would likely need the chinese power accessories as well. Just beware that the website is deceptive in this respect. You really do only get what you pay for! I was lucky enough to be able to cancel my order without too much resistance from them, so I suppose this is a plus.
This is definitely a bait and switch company. Beware.
I ordered by phone a canon lens advertised on their site for $899. I asked the salesman if it came with Canon's US factory warning. He said no, the $899 one was gray market and did not include the warranty. I had to pay $979 to get the warranty.
When the lens arrived, the warranty card was missing. A quick call to Canon confirmed that the lens that Broadway sent me was "gray market" and not eligible for warranty repair.
When I called Broadway to complain, they denied every telling me they were selling me a lens with a Canon US warranty, and tried to sell me their store 5 year warranty at a reduced price. I refused and they said they would let me send it back minus the cost of shipping it to me and the cost of me shipping it back.
Fortunately the lens seems to be working fine and I hopefully I won't need any warranty work on it. Broadway refused to give me a credit for charging me non-gray market rates for a gray market lens.
Ordered my product WITH FREE SHIPPING in the morning, and by afternoon I get an email asking me to call them to confirm the order.
All this was merely some scheme to try and up-sell about 5 other accessories I did not want or need.
By the end of the call, the person tried to SNEAK BY the fact that he was adding HANDLING AND INSURANCE charges of nearly $15 to my order.
I asked him to cancel the order immediately and explained this was bordering on fraud.

Ordered Hitachi dvd-hdd camcorder via internet. Had to call them back to confirm order via phone, took 5 days and 20 calls per day to get through. Went through confirmation expected sales pitch for options and got it. I did purchase extended 4 year warenty but planned to get one reguardless. Was told item will ship in 2 to 3 days. Two weeks later no shipping took place. Had to go through contacting all over again, Took one day and about 50 calls to get through. They shipped out same day, recived next day, but they charged me for the shipping when add said free shippng. Bad experience. I will take price to best buy and get price matching next time.
I managed to cancel my order with these clowns. Just as every review here says, they are fraudulent and should be shut down. They are trying to sell you parts that come with the camera from the manufacturer at additional cost, like battery, software, camera strap, and also they having shipping rate (standard UPS) $250. On top of all that the guy you have to talk to who won't transfer you to his manager is the rudest person I have ever talked to when buying anything. Amazing, how do we stop these guys from continuing to operate. I just hope someone else sees this site and doesn't get caught up with this "store". You are lucky if they cancel your order, because if you do place an order I have heard you get nothing but the lowest quality. AVOID THESE SCAM ARTIST!!
This store is full of scam artists!!!STAY AWAY!!!YOU WILL REGRET ORDERING FROM THEM. I had the same experience as most of the people on this site. I wish I would have know about this site and others before purchasing from them. It has been and still is a nightmare!!!!! I found them on EVERYPRICE.COM (now I found out it is a scam site also).Broadway photo was rated as a preferred seler so that is way we chose them. What a mistake!!!!! We placed our order for a camcorder. Instead of a real receipt/confirmation saying how much we approved for our credit card and what type of shipping we approved we received a note saying to contact the seller to verify some information regaring the order. I called back refusing the upsell and BERNARD said ok. Our camcorder arrived in an unsealed box and the in voice have charged us for an executive packeage ($110) more than what the purchase price should have been- but no upgraded battery or rapid charger was in the box even though we were charged for it (we refused the upgrade anyway). I called them right away but they were closed so them I emailed them because they clain they will respond withing 24 hours. No response. I recieved the item on a Friday- finally Monday I was able to get ahold of someone. I must hols spoe with them 40 times within a week trying to refund this product. They put me on hold, hung up on me, pretended to be someone else, lied to me, refused to give me an RMA #, berated me, the list goes on and on. Everything that everyone else on here has complained about has happened to me. I'm still in the middle of this mess because I reported them for the overcharge and return refusal to my credit card (they credited my the $110 overcharge)and broadway is trying to get te credit card company to give them that $$$ back saying that I got the upgrades which I didn't receive and didn't want. If my credit card believed them I will cancel my card.It is rediculous. It's hard to prove anything because of the way the work. They purposely will not give you anything in writing so you don;t have prove.That is why they call you on the phone. So of course they only receipt I have is the one they sent with my camcorder which is wrong. I am soooooooooooooooooo upset. I used to order online quite a bit but never again after this. It is not worth the headache. I wanted to report them to someone but noone seems to care. They have hundreds of complaints at the Better Business bureau. I don't know what to go. They credit card company was no help either.They said it wasn't fraud, just a diputed claim. Masters of evasion with bait and switch. Cannot recommend Broadway Photo to anyone. The usual email to call them, battery and charger not included (not OK), gray model (OK), instructions only in chinese (OK can always download), camera only shows Chinese characters (definitely not OK). Switch was to US version (price still OK) but added $30 for insurance not specified anywhere on the site. Supposedly upgraded my shipping (for free?) but camera has not yet arrived. I was used to this kind of practice in Asia, I'm surprised they are allowed to get away with it in the US.

The "US" version they shipped is clearly a gray model The UPC code is covered and I'm not clearly not elgibible for the $100 rebate that Pentax offer. It will probably cost me that much to return it. TOTAL CROOKS! Surely something can be done to shut them down.
UPDATE: To be fair, (and I really have no idea why I should be) I did get my $100 rebate from Pentax. But my recommendation not to deal with this company stands.

I purchase a Canon EOS XTI 400D digital camera and a 5 year extended warranty. Great price on camera w/ lens at $526.00. I immediately received an order acknowledgement email asking me to call them for security reasons. When I called them to acknowledge the order and credit card I was switched over to a salesman that begin to tell me that the battery that came with the camera would only power the camera for 15 minutes and that I should purchase a long life battery and a camera case to protect my investment. I explained that the camera was a gift for my son and I was not going to spend any additional money for the gift. He then told me that my son would be very unhappy with the Canon battery and I told him to either accept the order or cancel it. At that time he explained that the order would be processed and shipped in 2-3 days.
Very bad store. They put up a low price but ask you to buy expensive accessaries. When I declined all, then they say item in back order and canceled the order. I next check their website, the item was still listed as available
