waste of time!!!! bought a pioneer avic d3 and they sent me an email saying i had to call and confirm my shipping address? i called and they tried selling me add ons. I said no thanks and they said ok and I waited and waited, finally i called back and they said that it was out of stock and they were unsure when it would be in stock. I called as someone else and asked for the same thing and it was in stock? Rip off dealer, Prestige camera
who does the ratings on the price compare web sites? the site i found prestige camera said they had a 4 or 5 star rating but after my dealings with this scammer i tried posting a review on their site and there was no way for me to do so. i emailed the host and there was no reply Lowpricedigital.com

First, I never got a receipt that detailed what I ordered or how much $ it was upon submitting credit card info. I then got an email asking to call them with an extension or the purchase would not go through. High pressure sales tactics on phone with someone who lied about the conversation being recorded. Lied about what i needed withe the camera. lied about the batteries and life span. Lied about the memory cards for the camera. I accpted the order and asked for an itemized receipt in my email. i was assured I'd get one. 1 hour later nothing. 2 hours later nothing. I call back to cancel immediately. Rude person swears at me. Lies to me more. Offers to drop price by $100. Threatens with a 15% restocking fee which is not on their site. I tell him I cancel and I want a cancellation number. he hangs up. I have called over 30 times in the past 4 days and emailed at least 4 times. I never get through. Funny, they sent me a tracking number within 2 hours after speaking to them on the phone the first time. This is so they can hit you with the restocking fee, they ship it immediately. 15% on anything that is hundreds of dollars adds up. I am sending this through the authorities, my bank, cc company too. They have one of the worst rating on the better business bureau site I have ever seen. Still trying to get my money back.
Don't waste your time and risk giving away your personal data. I wish I had read this site before my purchase. The same old sophmorish "verify your card" trick. Very rude person wanting me to buy the one year manufacturer's warranty, and I quote...."which by law...manufacturers can't offer on mail order TVs" and their web site stipulates one-year warranties for everything they sell. Same as below. When I questioned the practice, obnoxious, boorish and childish is the only way to describe the response. By the way, I think the way they get by the pricegrabber site rating in particular is that they may contend there never was a "valid" order since a "real" salesperson had not formally approved the internet sale. There really should be a law against this kind of activity.

Thanks for the feedback. Saved me a big headache. Almost hitting the order button for a Sony Bravia XBR KDL-52XBR4, I am so glad I came here first!
First noticed:
RESELLERRATINGS ADMIN NOTES
We detected and disabled 50+ fraudulent "Very Satisfied" reviews for this merchant.
No doubt the sellers themselves because you can't have this many DISSATISIFED customers (600+) and expect ANYONE to truly be satisfied. And then headed to this site to read the numerous aliases: http://sheddingsomelight.com/buy-cameras/list/dealers-bwayfam.html
Just goes to show, it pays to check EVERYONE out before purchasing online!
This company claimed to sell a refurbished DSC-H2 camera for $177. When I made the purchase online on November 1, 2007, they later called me to tell that I would have to call them to confirm the order. When I finally contacted them a few days later the salesperson on the line immediately tried to sell me several other products that went along with the camera. I told him I did not need them. When he told me he would include 2 camera lenses that were the same value as Sony lenses costing $179.00, I agreed to purchase them. Then he told me that the whole package of products which I did not want but included an extended warranty would only cost $20 more, so I agreed to purchase the whole package. for a total cost of $399.00
Upon reviewing the camera lenses I find that the actual cost of them is $40 (found at another website: http://www.goshotcamera.com/product/...d_Cameras.html) and the lenses are defective. So I have purchased a $177 camera for a cost of $399 and now am the proud owner of cheap camera lenses that are worthless to me.
I am usually more cautious about my Internet purchases. However this time I had thought this company was reputable because I'd lived in NYC years ago and thought I'd had made some worthwhile telephone purchase from them at the time. Now I see from reading the above and my own experience with them that I have been deceived.
Classic. Just classic. I thought I might be ok because their 'yahoo' ratings were good. Obviously, they found a way to exploit the system and enter information to get their ratings up because they are scammers. I tried to order a Sony KDL-52XBR4 from them for $2861, and got the standard 'call us back for verification' email so I did - then came the bait and switch that I was expecting. I thought I might be ok with this company as long as I deny all the upsells they will try and deny the warrenties. Well ok, so then I thought I was still good then came the 'did I want the japanese import version or the U.S. version?' This I was not expecting. I asked what the difference was. They said the US version was $3199 plus shipping and that the japanese version onscreen controls was all in japanese and also wouldn't work with any of my home equipment - ie cable, dvr, etc. This is when I tried to cancel and they got angry and very aggressive. I said 'cancel cancel cancel' like a thousand times before finally the guy was like "I'm sorry to tell you this, but just a piece of advise for your life - you do not know what you are doing" then he hung up on me. Well FU to them, because I do know what I'm doing, I'm an engineer in the broadcast industry and I know damn well about these technologies and I wanted out of a scam. Hopefully they do not use my credit card for any fraudulent purposes. I did at least get a confirmation email from them which I was not expecting. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY, and DO NOT believe in their yahoo ratings as they obviously exploited the system somehow to get their rating up.
Well, I guess its refreshing to see I'm not the only sucker out there. I thought for a second that I was being over critical, but I had this gut feeling that they were gonna scam me. I spent $4699.99 on a Sony HVR Z1U (U=US) at Broadway Photo, the sales rep told me I would get the US Camera so I spent the extra Money and yes they tried to sell me every warranty on the planet.. Here's where I should have caught on. Sony was offering a rebate on this Camera and Broadway told me that I would not be eligable for the rebate because of the low cost they were selling it to me for. I've got rebate before and should have known better, but I still continued with the order. I paid over night fees of $200.00 to get the camera, (because I needed it for a job on Wed) and I did get the camera next day, but of course I got the Sony HVR Z1J (J=Japan). I immediatley called Broadway and I was on hold for so long, On my other line I called Sony support and got the low down on the cameras. Needless to say they told me that I definatley wanted the Z1U (us), finally a customer service rep handled my call from Broadway and told me that was the camera I ordered. and I said I orderd the US version and he told me that it was a US version that Japan verson was PAL. I got pissed off and used a choice few words, finally the supervisor got on the phone and tried like hell to tell me how wrong I was and was going to send me some kind of 4 year ex warranty free = a total of 5 years. Tried to tell me that japanese version was the better camera and I should keep it, with the warranty and he would send me a free case. I wanted a full refund and he said they were gonna chage me a 5% restocking fee and not refund my $200.00 overnight fee. So I was only going to get back $4260.00 out of the $4699.99 they charged my account for. They made some good money for sending me the WRONG camera. He did say he would send me out the Z1U as soon as he got the japanese version back, so I overnighted it... and to my suprise it only cost me $92.00 to overnight with 10:30 am gauranteed delivery. Imagine that They made over $100.00 just on shipping... So at this point I will call first thing in the morning make sure they got the package and see what happens. They did promise me that they would send out the right unit (Z1U)Prority within 24-48 hours.... Will update and post my ending experience. Still a major pain in the neck..... Plus I might be out of the Job I was hired for because I have no Camera. Ain't that a kick in the Dickies....
this is order number. They never sell you for price listing on his web store. this is fake low price to bring customer to the web page. they want to call and tell you "not in stock" Web page never say not in stock
Broadway Photo is a pure bait & up-sell outfit. It works like this: 1)Place your internet order; 2)Next day get an email asking you to call then to “verify” your order; 3) call them and say no to paying 2x full retail for accessories, 4) next day get another email saying camera is back-ordered; 5) call (cannot email) to cancel order. If you are lucky your card has not been charged. Your chances of getting anything from them at the too-good-to-be-true price is zero. See the review from Deanom, 11/11/07 for more detail. The part that disturbs me is that they employ shill rating outfits such as ShopCartUSA, LowPriceDigital and PriceHead to list only sparkling reviews, etc. So now the internet shopper must know how to find legitimate review listings (such as this one). I got suckered into thinking Broadway Photo's low price was legitimate by seeing several similar low prices. These turned out to be aliases for Broadway Photo. Nextag seems to have an accurate listing of legitimate price history.
I ordered a Canon Powershot S5 from them. Got the usual "Please call our processing dept" email to verify and process the order. Got the same story (Japanese version, menu, no battery etc. etc.). I asked the guy if their store was located in the USA. He said yes. I said that I stay in the USA and the official language is English, so why the hell do they advertise a camera with Japanese on-screen instructions for sale in the US? He got angry, and so did I. Told him that I don't want to listen to his lies and to cancel my order. He said "your order is cancelled" and put down the phone. Later the day I got an email to confirm my cancellation. I was still mad and decided to get some revenge. They have a Google sponsored link which means basically they pay Google (between 5c to $1) for every click on their link. Being a bit of a computer geek I downloaded a trial version of "Action Mouse Mover" and configured it to click between Google and their sponsored link a few 1000 times. Save’s your hand and finger. Hopefully it will cost them some money. Also stay away from USAphotonation. To be on the safe side, I asked AMEX for a new card as some people reported fraudulent charges later on their cards after cancelling orders with these and other scammers. Ended up ordering from Buydig.com for about $40 more, complete with USA warranty and free shipping. Here are photo's of their (scammers) so called shops that was posted on the web.

UPDATE: 11/14/07
Just received my camera from buydig today. Factory fresh with everything included. Super-service.
I would be VERY skeptical about any positive reviews posted about this company (Broadway Photo and all their aliases) as it is most probably posted by themselves or their employee's in an attempt to cover up their fraudulent activities. If you do a Google search on their reputation you will find that they make their money mainly from scamming (lying, selling overpriced accessories, resell accessories that normally comes standard in the box, restocking and cancellation fees, costly useless warranties, outrages shipping charges) and are up to no good. If you (must be crazy to) insist doing business with them, be sure to record every conversation you have with them on the phone (before giving them your CC number) as you will need it when the fun starts. They belong behind bars.

I purchased a tom tom go 720 on november 6 2007 from their website for $404 w/free shipping. best price i could find. so today i get a confirmation email asking me to call to confirm order as does everyone. i called and like everyone else the idiot rep tries to upsell me. no no no. well right before i hung up the phone he asked do i want the U.S. version for $29 more because this is the JAPANESE version. I was like HUH??? I asked where in the HECK does it say that because it doesnt. He said the only place it says it is when you submit your order. YEA, NO it doesn't. wish i would have read the reviews before going there. i called back and cancelled my order. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. what a bunch of crooks.
After reading this site I will be refusing my order and doing a charge back. I don't need the hassle. Yes they did call me with a sales pitch for other junk.
I order Canon SD 750 silver camera from this store and 2 days later they asked me to call them to verify the order so that they can ship my order. When I called I had to call several times until I finally managed to talk to a represntative. He said that the camera comes with the battery that only last for 20 minutes and I have to buy another battery if I want to use for longer period. The battery costs about $69. I argued that the spec does not mention so. He insist that it comes like that from the manufacturer. I refused to buy the battery and asked him just to send me the camera. He said the shipment is on the way. The next day I received an e-mail quoting that the camera is out of stock and I have to wait for 4-6 weeks. When I checked their website they incresed the price by over $7. And the website shows that they have the same camera in stock. I asked them to cancel my order but it is still in the process. I will not shop in this store in the future.
