I ordered a camcorder from these guys prior to xmas, on January 10th I finally got through to cust. service after 4 days of hangups, long hold times, and a message saying the answering service couldn't take a call. I got though by going back through sales and asking for a mgr. He advised me that my camera had been backordered the day I bought it. Why no one ever told me that is still a mystery, they said there should have been a email notification, but I didn't provide them with an email addy, I was told the camera might be in in 6-8 weeks and was told by the mgr to " so sue me". I blurted out and told him to cancel my order, hopefully they can fulfill that request. I would never recommend these guys to anyone!
Wish I went to reseller ratings first. To avoid non-US gear, placed order by phone for Canon SX100 and Panasonic TZ3 + battery, but not sure sales rep provided US product. Charged $10 per item for shipping (even though it would arrive in one box). Could not get rid of 7% insurance fee (additional $50). On Jan 6, tried to cancel order by phone and by email. Told I must cancel with Customer Service on weekday.
BEWARE of this operation! Cancelled a TV order after they added on $1000 for about $100 worth of extras to a $1500 TV. Even though cancelled, the TV was delivered anyway,"in error" and now they say they will not refund $400 of the $2500 billed to my credit card. To date there hasn't been ANY credit to my card whatsoever.
broadway photo sales people are blatant liars and anyone who attempts to buy from them will either be ripped off or treated very badly or a combination of the two. Wish I had done my homework before I placed the call but luckily the obvious lies put me off and I have the good fortune of not relying on these thieves for anything.
Buyers be ware of this store. Terrible experience. Bought a navigations system for X-mas. Was a pretty good deal, or so I thought. Bought it for my mother on behalf of my father for x-mas. Used his credit card but my shipping address. Shortly after order placed, received an email that says they cannot complete the order, we need to call. I have my 75 year old father call and they ended up selling him an adapter, but did not tell him the price. Got the bill and it was $99.99 for a car adapter. What a rip-off. In addition, website stated free shipping. Well there was no shipping but a $19.99 insurance fee for the shipping. Also, no where on the online invoice or in the email does it give you your final price.
I did return the item. At first when I called they were going to charge me a 20% restocking fee. I argued that they had misled my father. They stated that they told him the price and said they have the recording. I said play it for me, they did not. Anyway, got all back but the $19.99 insurance fee and my cost of shipping it back. What a hassle.
Bottom Line...there are a lot of great deals on the internet. If you are looking for one, stay away from this seller.
i decided to review bwayphoto while waiting for them to answer my call. i too ordered without reading these reviews first. ordered item, got email 3 days later to call and verify order, have been on hold for 20 minutes so far. i am prepared for the upsells, international switches. oh good, a rep...trying to sell me more-no thanks-i'll verify that the product and warranty are american 'of course. have you been having trouble finding that?' -no, i've been reading the reviews of your company and it doesn't look good. 'oh, i understand'. more upgrade offers -no thanks- 'warranty extension?' -i'm getting a u.s. warranty, right?- 'of course' -then, no. 'ok. we'll process your order.' -when will it ship? 'it will process today, go out tomorrow, and you should receive it in 7-10 business days' --i'll keep you updated on my experience. *well, got an email today that my camera was on backorder. so much for being 1 of the lucky few. i immediately cancelled my order and am done with this company for good. i would recommend going elsewhere with your business!

I ordered a Sony DSLR-A100 (body only, no lense) for $533. Two days later I got e-mail telling me I had to urgently call them to verify my order. Figuring the camera was no longer available, I checked their web-site before calling. I then found the Sony DSLR-A100K (same camera but includes a lense) for $512. I then called them and told them I wanted to change my order to the cheaper price with the lense. That's when they tried selling all the extras, claiming the battery only lasts 20 minutes, my Compact flash wouldn't work, I needed theirs, did I want to purchase a 1 year US warranty, etc. I told them per their "Product Description" it states "up to 750 shot Battery performance" and under "Included Accessories" it states "Lithium-Ion Battery". I also asked him why I would get a warranty when the Sony web-sites states it comes with a full 1 year manufacturers warranty. That'w when it came out that the product listed on their web-site was the Japanese version and unless I wanted to use a voltage adapter and could read the Japanese screen and manual I wouldn't be able to use the camera. He could sell me the same kit as US version for $699. Nowhere on their site does it state this even though the Rep insisted it is clearly disclosed. I then asked him if the original camera I ordered for $20 more (without the lense) was the US version. He insisted 3 times that it was the US version. He then offered to sell me the accessories again. I told him no, since the US version clearly comes with everything he is trying to sell me so all I want is the camera. He agreed and we hung up. Later that night when I checked the status of my order to be sure that he left the original order alone, the status had been changed from "awaiting verification" to "back order". The next day I got an e-mail indicating that my order was on back order with no projected ship date available. Fortunately they included a link to cancel my order (which I used). I also called my credit card company to flag my account to not allow any charges from Broadway Photo. To satisfy my curiosity, I called Broadway Photo later that evening to ask if I were to order the DSLR-A100, how soon I could expect it to ship. They put me on hold and a few minutes later came back and said that he went and checked and had 32 in stock so it should ship within a couple of days (probably after the "verification e-mail". I said I would get back to them and hung up. Stay away from them or I fear that you will regret it.
I found the cheapest price for a Canon ZR850 camcorder, $183 + 9.99 S&H. Seemed great. I got an email that said I needed to call them for "verification purposes". I was not initially alarmed because I know some companies are proactive about credit card fraud. Ok, but the only thing these guys (bozos) verified was that I had an order number. After that it was how about a 1500mAh battery for $100? I said no, because I got one for $15 somewhere else... $100 for a battery? Please don't get suckered into handing these guys your money.
*** For everyone's information, just like everybody, I got a "back-order" notice. The funny thing is that the product is still listed on the web page and also that the email came exactly 5 seconds after midnight of the same day I called and they tried to sell me a $15 battery for $100... what are the odds? ***
This place seems like a perfect target for investigative TV... I wonder how many random purchases where the buyer doesn't take the overpriced accessories are backordered... My guess is 100%.
This is one of the worst companies that I have had the displeasure of dealing with. Ordered a Canon digital camera--lowest price I found on the web. Site stated that it was "In Stock". So I placed an order, had to call them to confirm that I'd placed the order a few days later. Stated that my order was on its way.
Then an email stated: "This e-mail is being to sent to update you on the status of your order # W1281772. Your credit card had has not been charged due to the fact that the product you ordered is currently on back-order. When the product arrives we will e-mail you and then process your order.
For updated order status, shipping and tracking information, or to cancel your order visit the "My Account" area of bwayphoto.com or you may e-mail us at support@bwayphoto.com. We apologize for any inconvenience.
bwayphoto.com, Staff support@bwayphoto.com"
First, I could not check on my order online--the website could not retrieve it. Second, every call I placed to their 800# was fast busy or circuits are busy.
Third: When I emailed them 12/8 for a status, days later (12/11) their curt response was "The order is currently unavailable at this time and may take 4-6 weeks. I apologize for the inconvenience."
I immediately wrote back stating "I'm sorry but this is not just inconvenient and not acceptable.
This was supposed to have been a Christmas present. And it was listed as in stock when I ordered it.
What happened and what options can you provide as an alternative other than to wait until the end of January?"
No response. Lines busy all the time. 12/23 Checked the website and BOING: there was the SAME Canon camera now "in stock" but higher priced so I wrote: "I'm seeing on your website that this item is now in stock but at a higher price than when I placed my order. I cannot get through to your customer service number and have been trying for 3 days now.
How can this item be now in stock and I not get any notification that this order will be filled?
I have not gotten any response from my emails nor any idea if this order is misplaced or cancelled or to be honored.
Please provide a status ASAP."
12/26: They wrote this helpful handful of words: "The order is still not available at this time."
I canceled my order today and will be calling my credit card company to warn them.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS.

Having failed to view the reviews at this site, I was sucked in by the low prices advertised at this site. I called the next morning 9:00 AM to cancel my order but was told that the order had shipped and was subject to draconian return fees. The sales rep was rude and turns out a liar as UPS indicated that they did not receive billing information until 2:11 PM. These people are not honest brokers.
Beware of Broadway. The price indicated is just to lure you in. I was razzled dazzled. After they were done with me I was paying B&H photo listed price. I would have rather bought it from the renowned B&H photo. Low prices is a sure fire suckers bait. I only hope that it has a USA warranty. I found Broadway Photo thru a site named "lowpricedigital" by entering the name of the lens I wanted on Goggle. This site has Broadway Photo as the holder of the "Customers Trust Award" with five stars which why I ordered it from them. I am very dissatisfied. I haven't got the lens yet; Standby for update. Moral of the story: BEWARE OF WEB SITES THAT FALSELY RATE COMPANIES WITH FIVE STARS!
Update: OK I'm not a fool. I called my credit card company to stop charges from Broadway Photo. My credit card company said I needed to call the company to cancel the order or cancel my credit card. I did the surefire thing. I canceled my credit card for a new one. NEVER NEVER LET YOUR GUARD DOWN!
Beware of lowpricedigital, this web site also list other companies with 5 star ratings that have the most low life reviews posted I've ever seen.

I bought a Canon 5D back in august from them (Preferred Photo). I was new to buying gear and had no idea sites like this existed. I placed the order online, no order confirmation appeared. So I waited for an email. An email arrived a few days later saying for security reasons to call and confirm the order (still no order number). I called and they asked my name and looked it up that way. Well a few min later I was git up for all kinds of extra accessories (that I was actually going to buy) and the price came out to the standard price of the camera. I was supposedly getting 2 extra batteries (Canon brand, I verified this multiple times), and canon chargers and an extended canon warranty (I even called back to confirm this, at the time I didnt know such warranties didnt exist.) I repeatedly asked for an order number and got a string of jumble that changed each time. It was obvious they didnt have one. Well, 3 weeks later the camera arrived, a FAKE mac photo warranty, 2 off brand canon batteries and an off brand charger and my card was charged $300 more then it should have been. I called back and instead of a refund they sent me more of their junk accessories. Wow was I stupid to go with them. I completely knew I shouldnt but I bought anyway.
I later found reseller ratings (a shame I didnt see it before) and on there saw that preferred photo posts its own "good comments". How sad. Why not just do good business? Stay faaar away....
I attempted to purchase a camera from Broadway photo. I was then forced to call in to complete the order. When I called they attempted to hard sell me additional items. Then I was informed that i had purchased the Japanese version and if i wanted the US Version i would have to pay approximately $125 more. I canceled the order and told them the website did not indicate this was a non US model.
I ordered a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18K digital camera from them on 11/27 online. I got the email to verify my order and did so on 11/29. They tried to sell me accessories, I refused.
I called them today 12/18 because I hadn't received it. After being on hold for 20 minutes they claimed I ordered a refurb model and it was on backorder. They also claimed they sent me an email on 12/2 regarding this-never got it. I checked the web site and told them I ordered the one listed on the web site and it says absolutely nothing about being a refurb. They insisted that I had ordered a refurb. I cancelled the order and they promptly sent me an email regarding that. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM, THEY WILL LIE TO YOU!
I attempted to purchase a camera from Camera Addict and Broadway photo (same company). I was then forced to call in to complete the order for both during which they attempted to hard sell me additional items. Then I was informed that i had purchased the Japanese version and if i wanted the US Version i would have to pay approximately $125 more.
