This is most definitely a scam site, I ordered a Sony Mavica, because of the great price, but I had to call to "confirm" my order, this nothing more than a ploy to sell me overpriced accessories.
What did stike as sleazy was that they tried to sell me a warranty, I said Sony's warranty was fine for me, they said that this unit was imported from Japan by them, and therefore had no Sony warranty.
I canceled my order immediately.
I question the legality of such advertising and especially the importing and reselling.

My first experience with this type of dealer. Not fun. Went for the package, was assured of return rights, asked numerous times about any cost to me besides shipping, was told that was only cost. Found out what junk all the accessories were, called for RA#. Was told about "restocking fee" for 1st time. Blew my stack. They stood firm. Returned package. Waiting for credit, less "fee". Hope I get something!

I placed an order for the Minolta Dimage 7i. They listed it for $579. Most other places sell it for around $1000 so I thought this was a great day. WRONG, on 07-22-02 I received an e-mail asking me to call to confirm my order. I called around 8:30 on 07-23-02 and their message said there hours are Mon - Thur 9-9. So I called back at 9, still the same message, then again at 9:10 ad 9:15, finally at 9:20 I got the message asking me to enter my party's extension. Guess what, Jake wasn't in yet. So I called back at 9:30 and finally got ahold of him. Right off the bat he tries to sell me their battery pack for $80 because the ones that come with it only last 20 minutes. I told him I already had an external one that lasts for 4 hours (and it was only $58 plus I bought some batteries of the recommended power level for $14 for 4). Now he tries to sell me some compact Flash, I told him I already have a 1gb IBM microdrive. Next, Filters, you need filters normally $249 but I'll let you have them for $149, then oh you need a case, $49 but I'll give it to you for $39. Now the big bomb, oh I noticed you didn't order the 5 year warrenty, where you aware that what we sell is an internation product and comes with no warrenty? You need to buy the warrenty It's normally $300 but I'll give it to you for $199. Stay away from these people, they are selling grey market items (items imported from other countries that carry no warrenty). Beware of this place. Do yourself a favor and just burn your money.

I wanted to add that I went ahead with the order and checked my credit card statement and noticed that they charged me $60 more than the price they quoted me. I called them about the extra charges and I was put on hold for about 5 minutes then the guy came back and told me that he listened to the recording of my order and said that was the amount that was quoted to me (amazing system, can find any call in 5 minutes and that includes listening to a 15 minute conversation). I told them I wanted to cancel the order, well it had already shipped. I told him that I was going to refuse the shipment and I wanted a full refund. I was told that I would be charged a restocking fee of 20% plus shipping. Very unacceptable, this would have cost me several hundred dollars for nothing! I filed complains with the local attorny generals office in my state and the one in New York as well as the Federal Trade Commision (I advise you to do this if you have been ripped off by these people). My credit card was never credited back until my local Attorny General's office contacted them. After this I received a FULL Refund. Don't let these guys push you around. I also advise you to contact your credit card company and get a new number. After my experience with A&M I started to notice charges on my credit card that were not put on there by me. Now I am not saying that they had anything to do with it but it is very suspicious. If you have ordered from them and got ripped off, then contact the Attorny General's office and the Federal Trade Commision ASAP, otherwise avoid these people like the plaque!

I would not advise anyone to use this company. I purchased the camera thinking that I had found a true deal, but in all reality all I'd found is a scam. I received an e-mail telling me that I must first confirm my order. Believing that this was for security I did this. I was put on hold at least eight different times, and was being asked repetitively if I wanted to purchase accessories. I bluntly stated no, just to be transfered to another associate. After repeating myself at least three times I was told the product would arrive in a few weeks. A few weeks went by, and the product never showed up, so I called to check the status... FUNNY THING.... the order had been cancelled... no accessories... no order.. AND this is a foreign dealer, so the battery and other USA included accessories were NOT included...... I WOULDN'T ADVISE OSAMA BIN LADEN HIMSELF TO BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!

They suck alright! Bait and switch all the way..
they were offering a canon gl1 for $1229.. retail price is $2499. I order it and get the email to call for confirmation. After being on hold for 30 minutes and getting disconnected I call back and get through.

They tell me the camera has a really small battery and if I buy the extended battery with it I can get it for $149 (typically $199 they say but $50 for bundling). I say no thanks and they say, what about a warranty.. this is the international model and doesn't come with a waranty. You can buy one for $399. No thanks! Are you sure you don't want a battery, this model doesn't come with one! Uh, it comes with a small one right? Nope, I messed up before, that's a different model. This one comes with NO battery. Oh well, that's okay, just send it to me and I'll make due. Okay fine. How long will it be, is it in stock? Yeah, just a day or two. Okay, bye.

And that was the last I ever heard from them! So please save yourself some time and don't get suckered by their too good to be true prices! they are!

Scam artists! Also see Broadway Photo and Digital Liquidators. They sell greay market crap and/or refuse to sell you the gear if you don't buy their overpriced accessories. Oh yeah, and they charge $45.- to ship a 5 lbs package via UPS ground...

An internet search revealed they had the best price on a digital camera I was interested in purchasing for a gift. When I called, I was told that the camera was in stock. However, when I refused to purchase any of the over-priced accessories they tried to sell, suddenly the camera was no longer in stock. After waiting for two months, I gave up and went elsewhere.

It's pretty clear to me that you won't be buying anything from them unless you pad the sale with overpriced accessories. Interestingly, that seems to make their price no better than anyone else's.

This purchase was not consumated because after placing an order for a Canon G2 Digital camera, I received an email to call for "order verification", the representative tried to sell additional accessories and said the great price did not include a US warranty. I informed him I only wanted the camera at the price offered, he said he just learned the item was backordered and would not be in stock for 4-6 weeks. This is obviously a scam bunch of lowlifes operating with deceptive business practices. The do not intend to sell at the prices offered unless they can load up the sale and should be investigated and penalized if they cannot deliver.

This company had the lowest price on mysimon.com for the sony dsc-f707 camera (650 or so) that usually retails for 1000. Yes. It is a grey market deal. I can deal with that. But the staff is incompetant. They tack on a large amount of shipping and "insurance".

So I order my camera with three day shipping, and wait a week or two. Nothing. I try call up a sales agent, wait 30 minutes to talk to someone, finally I get through. *click*. The phone goes dead. So I get stuck waiting another half an hour to get through. The agent asks me if I recieved the email. "What email?" I ask. "The one that states your item was on backorder". Bull. I never recieved anything of the such. He stated that he would get it shipped out RIGHT THAT DAY. What a crock. I called up the next week, to find out why I hadn't recieved the item, only to hear that the items were still on backorder because some of the items shipped "were defective".
I am not very impressed with this company, as you may be able to guess.

For older A&M ratings, they tell a better story.

One note you may also want to consider is that this is the same company (the web pages are the same, just a different color) as

http://www.bwayphoto.com/

Broadway Photo currently has a 2.3 rating, and that's only that high becuase of funny business going on in the voting. (Check the reviews there for more of the wonderful practices.)

Edited to remove problems with order (found out they were related to credit card company.)

I purchased a Sony PD-150a Video Camera for my Business on their website. I soon got a call from the ordering department that goes through the usual bull wanting to sell me additional products. The price of this camera was over $700 below anyone else on the net. So I told the guy I would purchase an additional battery I think, priced at list. He then began to tell me "I needed to purchase the $600 Repair Service from them because the camera was an import and had no Sony warranty." WHAT? This doesn't sound right. Also he said that "the PD150a at this price was also the old one that had the audio problem, but it was a new one" WHAT? Sony has fixed that problem over a year ago. I told him to delete the order and I purchased another one from a reputable dealer. The point here is like alot of the resellers out there, they bait you with the price and then switch the proposed merchandise. I would imagine that they would not have had the camera in stock after all, if I had told the salesman to send me the camera anyway, no repair service, no extra battery. The same salesman told me the day earlier that the VX2000 I purchased only was "the camera body only" not the standard kit that of course the only one Sony sells comes with all the stuff. I just wanted to see if they did this sales on all of their low priced cameras. My advice, Stay farrrrr away from these guys at any price. I didn't hear one believable word from anything they had to say on either of the two sales.
