CROOKED!!!! Gave misinformation about products, prices, compatibilities. Refused to cancel order once submitted, threatened to charge a restocking fee for items not shipped, then tried to "make a deal." It boggles my mind how people who are so consistently and obnoxiously criminal can be allowed to continue doing business.

they pulled a "bait and switch" advertising $315 then charging $395 by lying about the battery, scharge for "upgrades" they don't send, and charging $23 shipping and 5% restocking which is not disuputable with the credit card company. This review was modified by its author, mind_Flight, on

OMG, I had so much fun with this sales guy at Broadway Photo ... 1) i knew i was going to get an email from them to confirm my info. 2) i read all of the previous reviews from bizrate and on here and was prepared. 3) i had no intension on buying the camera from them because i knew it wasn't what they advertised.
Funnest part>>>Japanese model he said. i said they are all made in Japan, he said no the language is in Japanese, i said oh o it is a Japanese model with a jap warranty? he said no with a U.S. warranty "this went on for about 2 more minutes..lol you get the point of what i was doing. I did this on every single thing he tried to sell me, and by the end he was so freakin mad you could hear it in his voice, even worse i waited until 8:51 P.M.to call them ,LOL i knew he wanted to go home at 9!!!!!!!!!
It is amazing that i bought this same camera with all the goods at Circuit City for 369 last week and this guy was trying to sell me the same thing for 633 . The price on there site said 279. what a serious markup. I feel so sorry for the people they rip off every day...GRRRRRR!!
I think everyone should call them up and act like your going to buy something from them taking up at least 30 minutes of there time, then cancel the order, lol!!!! I recorded my conversation with them it is a shame that i cant upload audio for you all to listen too.
I wouldn't buy a penny from them for .00002 cents and i hope that you wouldn't either. STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAM ARTIST!!!oh not artist thats to much for me to bear.TRY "SCAM IDIOTS"

Typical for A&M scam. You order online, than you get an email with information to call in to confirm. The camera that you ordered turns out to be a "japanees" or "european" model that does not come with battery, accs, or other stuff, and most importantly with warranty. Than if you get the camera shipped to you it is the "japanees" model with xeroxed english manual.

I ordered a Motorola phone from these people and I’ve had nothing but trouble getting information about my order. I received a notice after purchasing, fairly normal. I waited a few days and didn't receive an email so I sent an email in requesting information on the order. No response. So I called customer support. I spoke to a guy who tried to sell me some accessories for the phone, who indicated that my order was delayed but they just got the phones in that day and I should get an email shortly.
Well, sure enough I did. I got a response from the email i sent before saying I needed to call customer support because they couldn’t handle my issues via email. Whatever. Then the next day I got an email stating that it was sent to the warehouse and I should be getting a tracking number shortly. I waited and waited. Nothing. 10 days later, still nothing. I sent in an email to cancel my order and left a voicemail. I discover that they are closed for 4 days this week. I'm not sure who's running this store but that's not how you should be doing business. I should have consulted reseller rating before purchasing. I purchased the phone today from a different vendor and they shipped it today and sent me a tracking number. Now that's service!

A & M Photo World are a bunch of crooks and scammers.
I bought a refurbished Kodak CX-7330 camera from them for $98 dollars. When I placed the order I was sent an e-mail to call them for verification (I thought this odd). But I called and the hard sell started immediately with a rep talking fast. He tried to sell me on guarantees, etc. Told me the camera only had 1 month warrantee (which is a lie). The box clearly states "Factory reconditioned 1 year limited warranty." I didn't take. He told me that the "Free Case with your purchase (A $49.99 Value)" was not available and that he would make a CH-3950 rapid charger free and I agreed. Big mistake, this was charged at over $39 dollars to my final bill! I just surfed around and found this item for less than $20.
I called them back and they told me I must have misunderstood the rep. More B.S. I know what I heard and even told my wife about the free gift as soon as I got off the phone. This was clearly underhanded tactics. These guys will never see a penny from me again, ever.

A&M Photo World requested that I call to "verify" my order. Feeling like I was in for a hard sell, I cancelled by order. Shortly, A&M called me! to verify the order! They said my shipping address was to be on file with my credit card company, which I have never heard of. So I confirmed the cancellation over the phone, too. A&M was VERY RUDE. It's not worth saving a few bucks for poor service.

Ordered a Panasonic PV-GS150 for $465. They never shipped it. When I called in to see why they said it was backordered and would be in stock 5/9. On 5/10 I called and it was still backordered. I called Panasonic and they said they had 60 in stock, and there was no backorder. I called amphotoworld back and they explained to me that they were selling an "International" version, with no warranty, no accessories (bag, battery, nada). They had the "US version" in stock for $600 - that's what Panasonic sells it for on THEIR website! Don't waste your time with these jerkwads.

my total from 279.00 plus 11.99 for shipping became 339.99 A BUNCH OF CRAP !! I TOLD HIM CANCEL ORDER !!! He wouldnt !!! didnt authorize
those charges..REPORTING NOW AND WILL GET ALL MY MONEY BACK !!!! Cancelled my card with my credit company and reported him to them as fraud. Then all of a sudden I received an email they cancelled my order. Good thing because I taped our conversation. Still reporting them because the charges went through. I will wait to see if they refund me like they say they are going to within 72 hours..HA HAHA HA like I am a fool to believe they are going to refund my card back. I am not taking any chances.. DONT BUY FROM THEM YOU WILL BE SOOO SORRY.. This review was modified by its author, pennielane2cute, on

STAY AWAY FROM THEM and digitalliquidators.com. They are the same company. I ordered my lens 2 weeks ago, they emailed me to call back (what a surprise after reading this page). Tried to sell me warranty and more parts which I refused and the guy hang up.
I thought I got a good deal, a friend of mine ordered it a week after me and his price is $20 extra. Two weeks later, he got his lens but I didn't. Called them and they said it's on backorder for 14-21 days. How the hell did someone got it first.
If you read this forum carefully, they give you a good deal to lure customer, then tried to sell you warranty, accessories, and when you decide not to buy, they treat you like shit.
Read this guide about these retailers from New York:

Also, please file a complaint with bbb.org and www.oag.state.ny.us/consumer/consumer_issues.html?

*** Forget the BBB, they can't enforce anything. File a complaint with the consumer protection agency. www.oag.state.ny.us/consumer/consumer_issues.html?
They actually charged me $60 more than when I checked out, in addition to the same complaints from everyone else. These guys need to be put out of business. This review was modified by its author, trispi3, on

I'd read everyone's posts here before purchasing from A&M PhotoWorld ... yet I made the decision to purchase anyway keeping an optimistic attitude but expecting the worst.
Sure enough, I got the email about calling customer service. They first tried to upsell me the battery, then it was the non-US version of the camera lines though it was NOT stated anywhere on the page where you purchase the camera, then it's going to be 3-4 weeks to ship, etc. I did try to educate the person I spoke w/ about the FTC's definition of deceptive advertising and was blown off (oh they know so much more than me about it ... yeah ... law school graduates know nothing, you're right ...).
Unfortunately for them, I'm not your average customer and I can be a bit idealistic. After reading the reviews yesterday, I did some digging on deception policy. The FTC Act of 1983 specifically states that for deception in advertising to occur there has to be 1) a representation, OMISSION, or practice that is likely to mislead the customer. 2) the act or practice must be considered from the point of the reasonable consumer, and 3) the Representation, OMISSION, or practice must be MATERIAL.
Guess what, this fits all 3 requirements of deceptive advertising. At this point, I've told them to ship me what I purchased... They're saying it will be 3-4 weeks (because you chose Ground shipping ... they can't ground ship from Japan ... come on, give me a break) and I've told them that's fine. If they refuse to sell the item to me or the item is NOT the US version of it, I'm going after them with formal complaints to the FTC, the Attorney General, and whomever else I can file suit with. At least in my case, it will be much more cost effective to send me the unit they advertised, but the choice is up to them.
To read more about why companies can NOT legally do what this company does, read below:

I ordered a camera by phone to ensure that it was in stock and would be shipped immediately. After two days and no order confirmation by e-mail I first checked my credit card statement and found no billings. I took five attempts by phone and over an hour on hold or being passed from one extension to another to talk to Eric. I was informed that the camera was on back order and it would be shipped in the next week or two. I cancelled the order.
Shortly after, I received an e-mail reply confirming cancellation and the statement “If any charges have been posted to your account and your order has not been shipped, please allow 24 to 72 hours and all charges will be fully refunded.” This seemed curious since A&M Photo World didn’t have any cameras in stock.
Concerned, I checked my online credit card statement. Sure enough, A&M Photo World had billed by credit card for the camera and shipping after the order was cancelled. A&M Photo World gets to use my money to earn interest on charges for which I have to pay interest for something I never received and A&M Photo World never intended to ship. The money has not been credited back to my account yet.
This text was sent to A&M Photo World with a request for a response. No respone has been received. This review was modified by its author, jim_WA, on

Believe me, take my word on this; do NOT shop from this merchant, Ever. I’m a hard-core web-shopper and I haven’t seen an awful customer service like this online store. I ordered a 32-inch Philips LCD TV and they sent me an Email to call and confirm my order I have been put on hold over 30 minutes every day; not to mention the voice messages that I have been directed to EVERY SINGLE time. Honestly, I would rather pay $500 more and shop somewhere else than this crappy store. Also, when someone finally picks up the phone, all he knows to say is “What is Your Order #?” and he puts me through a voicemail. I ended up closing my Credit Card account in case those people decide to charge me later; You never know. This review was modified by its author, Mrsaro79, on
