I bought an OEM Sapphire 9800NP for $238. shipped. I always shop at Newegg and it had the same card for $265. but this time I decided to take a gamble and shop at another online store. Shipping was fine, arrived well packaged. I got the 3.3ns samsung bga, flashed to the OLD 9800pro BIOS, and now I have an OEM 9800Pro for $238 : ) Really happy too! Just now getting around to giveing a rateing. What can I say, prices are right, and shipping was good. Would recomend them to other people, without a problem. AAA+++

All is fine and dandy until you to need return a defective product. Lesson learned -- avoid this company.
I ordered a video card with through this company. The s-video out was terrible and produced a fuzzy image. My other cards s-video out worked in the same machine with the same s-video cable without a problem. I RMA the video card on 10/9/03. The response I get is that they must receive the card by 10/15/03. This left me with only FOUR business days to return the card because of the weekend. Even though, they claim to have a 30 day return policy and 10 to ship from issuance of RMA -- it turns out their real policy is 30 days period. This is not clearly stated. So if your item breaks down on day 29 from invoice, you have TWO days to get an RMA and mail it back to allstarshop or you're screwed. This is completely unreasonable.

i bought a sapphire radeon 9500 they sent it to me .it never worked i tryed it in 4 different computers .. RMA`ed it they said it worked and sent me the same card back . then from reinstalling it 20 times in different computers a resister broke on it so i rma`ed it again .they said that since it was 30 days old they would send it back to sapphire to be fixed .they got the card said it was broke sent it back to with a letter saying my warranty was vioded ,and no further rma`s were allowed .they screwed me .thats the first thing and the last thing i`ll ever buy from them ...

I have never purchased from Allstarhop.com, but I must say that experience was nothing but pleasant.
I have ordered a Sapphire Radeon 9800 non-pro OEM (with all cables, and DVI-CRT dongle, just not in a fancy retail box), at the time for the lowest available price on high reseller rated stores of $249. Having ordered it at around 5:15 pm central time, I was almost sure that the order won't be shipped until next day, but to my surprise, it did ship the same day, and in 2 days it was here (California to Iowa). I did order a better than ground shipping, since I needed the card faster, as my old one just died. The price for 2-day FedEx was very reasonable ($8.50, which is what lots of companies charge for ground shipping). Will definitely return to this company for my future needs.

I ordered a mobo and an ATI 9500Pro both much cheaper than I could find anywhere. Besides of course the some what questionable companies on PriceWatch.com w/ less than attractive ratings. They both were listed as in stock but didn't ship even the second day after order was recieved. I gave a call and talked to Jonathan who was very helpful and after looking into it found that the parts were not pickup on the second day from the warehouse even though it was on the pick ticket. Oh well, stuff happens. I wasn't going to blow a gasket as I had my I on these paticular components for months and a few extra days wasn't going to kill me. So Jonathan found the problem and I asked if he would call me back after he actually put his hands on the parts and saw them to the shipping dept. I didn't expect he'd actually do this but, damn if he didn't do exactly as he said he would. He even gave me a follow up name of the second shift guy he'd brought up to speed on my little "non" situation as he was going home for the day. Impressive. I'd definitly buy from them again.

Great Merchant!! Purchased Chaintech's GeForce FX 5600 with 256MB DDR from them. I was kinda surprised to see that the item came in a different box. It was still a Chaintech box but not the exact box of the product. I figured that Chaintech made some alterations in their original 5600's that had 128MB DDR. I guess Chaintech slapped on an extra 128 memory module to improve the card's performance.
I like this merchant for their prices and free shipping offers, will definitely do business with them again.

After reading a few reviews of the popular Kingwin KT-424 aluminum case, I decided I wanted one for my new system. Allstarshop happened to be one of the few with the case in stock. At the time I placed my order, the status showed that this item "usually ships in 1-2 business days." I checked the status of my order the following day and discovered that the case was out of stock.
Having communicated with Allstarshop frequently, I am pleased to say that Allstarshop has great customer service. All of my e-mail inquiries regarding when new stock would arrive were answered promptly. After the case came back in stock, I ordered it and received it in almost perfect condition in two days (FedEx ground). I would recommend Allstarshop, but keep in mind that their inventory, like many other online stores, may not be completely accurate at the time you place your order.

All in all allstar has been my favorite online retailer. They have one of the most easy to use sites and are loaded with great pictures of the products they sell. Moreover, their prices are generally very good. I have ordered lots of parts from them all with quick turnaround and good packaging.
I have never had any complaints at *all* about them until now. I ordered a new motherboard, CPU and heatsink. All were listed as being in stock. When I checked my e-mail the next day, I received a note saying that both the MOBO and proc were no longer in stock and the were 'unable to determine when they would receive new stock'. I found this to be frustrating as BOTH were listed as available which partially drove my decision to buy them. But, the thing that bothered me the most was that I never received a reply from my e-mail to them asking when I could expect it to ship. After waiting two days without a peep, I canceled my order.
I wish these sites would have something like a red/yellow/green light stocking system. If they have more than 25% of their normal stock level of that product *in stock*, then it gets a green light. If they have less than 25%, it lists a yellow light. None is a red light. But alas, they will never do this as their information is not accurate or current enough. Moreover, the last thing they want to do it do anything to persuade a consumer to not buy the item. The flaw in this logic is that the cost of keeping these purchases is the satisfaction of me when they inevitably don't have something in stock.
I will still go to their site, but I will call or e-mail (if they bother to return the e-mail this time) to check the real stock if I really need it in a hurry. This review was modified by its author, SJAndre, on

I ordered a ATI Radeon 9500 Pro (oem). They shipped it same day and it came on time. When i opened the box, I was surprised to see the retail box (from what i see on the site, oem's are out so they must have just sent retail) and still the same price. It's running fine and I would gladly order from them again.

Very pleasant buying experience from Allstar. I ordered a pair of retail video cards and an OEM CPU for below average prices. Everything arrived within a week as advertized! Will buy again and recommend to others.

Got DEAD card / Repeatedly Ignored by Vendor / All Negative reviews omitted ... :-(
The video card arrived completely DEAD and the vendor IGNORED all 7 of our requests for a replacement until AFTER the 30 return expiration had passed. (!!!) Been trying to resolve this ever since, without success.
Now they refuse to post my CORDIAL but NEGATIVE customer reviews. Guess they want everyone to think they are perfect. ...
