I start my review by saying that Tiger Direct is a great place to get your computer parts but once and awile something will go wrong. When something goes wrong, you find out just how good they are. I explained my problem to George 5373 and as confusing as the problem was good old George 5373 took care of it. If all the people are as helpful as George at T.D. they will continue to be a plasure to do business with.

Now before anything, I'm sure this is likely an isolated incident, as most reviews are quite positive. Nonetheless, as a first time TigerDirect customer, here is my story:  
 
10/17/09: I ordered an HP Vista laptop, which was the cheapest Vista model available at the time. I needed this for business purposes so it was urgent to get the computer!  
 
10/22-27: I got a box in the mail, however it was just a stick of RAM for the laptop. Waited a few days and still no laptop! I went online to track shipping, and it turns out they had none of the HP's in stock when I purchased. Sure were quick to take my $ but not update their product page with a simple 'Out of Stock'. First guy told me they had no clue when next shipment would come in. A day later, they said 1-2 weeks more! UNACCEPTABLE.  
 
10/28/09: I called customer service and they got the Product Manager to swap the out-of-stock model with a 'Better, upgraded" Acer laptop as a gesture of good faith. Well I was dazzled with the talk of new added features than the model I wouldv'e got, HDMI, larger screen and W7, but that didn't last long. When I managed to get online and the tracking was updated, it turns out I was to receive a downgraded NETBOOK instead, with no DVD drive and smaller inch screen! Even the CPU was horrible in comparison, and it's obvious they were trying to slyly get rid of old stock while taking advantage of my situation. Unfortunately TD, I'm knowledgeable about PC specs and know better.  
 
10/20/09 (today): I called in and complained about the situation, and the guy simply transfered me to a voice mail. Another poor customer service move. After several calls back, I finally got someone to cancel shipping in route, and I'm now waiting for my full refund.  
 
I've bought ~4.5k worth of PC components from the competition this year for client builds, and will NEVER again order from TD. By the time this whole mess has come to an end, I'll have been out of a home business computer for 3-4 weeks, and there's already been problems as you can imagine running a home business with no computer!

Bad news – Two items were ordered w/ 2nd Day shipping. Expected delivery was on a Weds. Unfortunately one of items was out of stock and had to be obtained from 3rd Party. No status of “out of stock” at order was provided or that there would be a delay in my receiving the item in subsequent confirming emails.  
 
Good news – Carlos in Customer service was able to prod the warehouse into finding the then “missing” item and make arrangements to have the item shipped “Next Day”, in time for my tech to install it the following day. Carlos realized his company had dropped the ball with my Order, but worked very hard to locate the item and get it shipped. A “customer never again” is now a “future repeat customer”. Great job Carlos!

This company stands by their products. Very easy to get an RMA if (on the rare occasion) something is amiss. Good packaging and fast order processing. Only ever had 1 problem with them and the customer service was outstanding. FYI the problem was wrong product inside sealed manufacturer packaging. Can hardly blame them for that. Returned for proper product at no extra shipping charges to me. Great company and would (and often do) recommend them to anyone.

This experience started out with a bit of a blunder. Incompatible RAM was included in a barebone package. I tested the RAM and both sticks were in perfect working order, so I tossed the packaging. Looked like I had a MoBo issue so I ended up RMAing. Got the new MoBo and the issue persisted. Finally found that the RAM was incompatible with the MoBo and tried to RMA the RAM. RMA of the RAM was initially rejected because I did not have the original packaging. However, I used the online chat feature and spoke to Juan. Juan spoke with his supervisor and they took ownership for the company's mistake and agreed to allow me to return the item without original packaging and with no restocking fee.  
 
In the times of online shopping and outsourced support centers it is rare to come across the level of support I experienced today. Typically such distances between the seller and buyer cause a huge disconnect when an issue arises. However, Juan and his supervisor took 100% ownership of the issue and saw that it was resolved correctly. Cheers!

I like tiger direct they have alright deals and they great customer service and an awesome offline catalog. They ship fast. I ordered it at 3 pm and i had it the next day at 12pm. I live in Michigan... they have warehouses everywhere.... This was standard ground shipping

Tiger Direct is a first class customer service organization. The have taken care of issues, including those that were the result of my own mistakes, quickly, painlessly, and as well as any other merchandiser with whom I have EVER worked.  
 
Example, I ordered a computer with a drive that was too small...didn't realize it until 45 days later, called them, they replaced it, period.  
 
Example number 2: Ordered a 100 ft HDMI cable, got it strung to my projector and reaslized the connector was damaged. Called Tiger at 8:00 EDT and received a replacement at 10:00AM the next morning  
 
What else can I say.

I bought a Visionman barebones system for my father, very nice, but Visionman did not ship a driver disk and could not connect to the internet without drivers and everything I tried didn't work. I spoke with Rep Arturo Correa, he contacted Visionman and 3 days later I had the right disk and the system is working great. I have had great service and great prices from TD,their customer service is outstanding. I recommend them and Visionman 100%. B R

systemax X58 - WOW -Had a few problems. It wouldn't recognize the DVD rom. I opened the case, plugged it in and wallah. had some networking problems, used the 45 day on line tech support...They got me going..If you are going to buy this fabulous smoking computer do your self a favor and purchase the 2yr extended warranty with it and also buy the 45 day online tech support package. Only running 2 monitors right now, but two more will be no problem, Most fun I have had since I have been computin...first one I didn't build myself....Can't wait to try windows 7..Been using Tiger for 8 years and built many many puters ordering from them. Sometimes their sales rep get a little over zealous, but be patient you will figure it out
