I would strongly recommend Powernotebooks.com. It did take 3 weeks to get me my notebook, but this was only because the manufacture changed the specs and significantly improved the video card, which I was very very happy about. Powernotebooks.com kept me informed about the change and answered all my questions. Also I have been very happy with the tech support folks at Powernotbook. They have answered my emails. Unfortunately, the folks at Sager did not get back with me.
As for the computer, my Sager NP8662 looks great. Quality seems very high. Gaming speed is great. Also I have not found it to run hot, even while gaming, which is a big plus. It is heavier than most laptops, but not bad in my view, especially when you consider what you get under the hood. Only complaint is that the processor drops down to 1.59 GHz when on battery from the normal 2.53 GHz, I have the p8700 processor. This greatly increases battery life, but I wish there was setting I could change. I am not sure if I am going to be able to get this to run at full speed on battery, tech support said this is hard to charge but they suggested some software that might be able to do it.

I was referred to PNb.com by a friend whom had purchased one of his laptops from them. I was looking for a new laptop at the time as well, and i was happy to look through their site. I found the Sager NP5793! It was on sale, and i was going to be getting my reimbursement from school soon. i first asked the sales team, and the owner himself, Donald Stratton, replied to my questions. Donald helped me through out the whole process and we have shared many great emails since! ^__^
---
As for the Sager NP 5793! An amazing laptop! i had upgraded the processor, the hard drive, the wireless internal card and added Turbo memory! As well as 64-bit Vista Ultimate. Everything has been working wonderfully, Vista runs smoothly on the 4GB of RAM, and although I've only thrown two games at it (COD4 and Mirror's Edge) it preforms wonderfully under stress and heat is minimal thanks to the cooling system! For bang to buck ratio, this machine cost under 1800 for the machien itself, and i added a 2 year warranty/30 day pixel warranty.
---
I put the order in for the laptop on a Friday, i set up the wire transfer on Saturday, the money and the order were both processes on the following Monday. The laptop was finished on Friday of the same week, a 5 day built time, and the shipping started on that Friday (well the process started and i had my tracking number) i could afford 3 Day Air through the cash discount from the wire transfer. (despite the weekend) the laptop arrived on time on the third business day.
---
Although i had the chance due to my working for UPS to intercept the package early on the second business day, however it went to a different HUB than the one i work at, almost had 2 day shipping at the price for 3 day ;)
---
Laptop preforms wonderfully and has not had a single issue yet!
---
As for PNb's, They are an amazing company and i have been referring everyone i tell about my laptop to about them and their wonderful service. ---
The laptop got to me packaged correctly, with the correct dimensional weight on the package. I am a revenue recovery auditor for UPS and thousand of packages go by me without the proper shipping costs. however i am thankful to see that PNb covered not only the correct physical weight but the dim weight as well, this is a large factor in shipping, and a hundreds of companies have packages audited (cough dell hp gateway cough ahem) The laptop was in two different sized boxes, this allowed for packing popcorn to be placed in the larger box, making sure the laptop the smaller box, holding the laptop does not move inside, and thus break. The second smaller box had the laptop and carrying case within it, and the laptop was between foam spacers holding it away from the side of the box. Overall a great shipped package shows an even greater company that shipped it!

This was a great experience. To date, this was my largest single purchase, and it was something I had been agonizing about for many years. As a hardcore gamer on a budget, I needed to balance my need to see pretty things with my need to not go penniless.
PNBs offered excellent products at a very competitive price, and their customer service was beyond excellent. They ensured the safety of my transactions, and were pleasant and personable throughout the entire process. From start to finish, everything went smoothly, from selection to purchase to shipping. I would recommend their service to anyone seeking a powerful new computer at a reasonable price, and will in the future.

As one of few vendors to sell OS-free laptops, Powernotebooks was an easy choice for me, as a Linux user. I was able to get a top-of-the-line computer for substantially less than a Macintosh or Windows machine would have cost me. The laptop arrived well ahead of schedule, and works like a charm with the newest distribution of Ubuntu. I highly recommend Powernotebooks to anyone looking for a high quality linux-ready computer.

After a bad experience with another company that resulted in a return, powernotebooks had a new and fully functioning product in my hands much sooner then expected.

I ordered a Sager NP2096 from PowerNotebooks.com and I am a VERY satisfied customer! The website is full of useful information for anyone with questions about computers before they purchase. The hardware is well described(some sites only give generic names/info). The pricing is better than ANY computer seller/reseller/distributor I have seen--period. I received my computer within two weeks from the time I first placed the order.
All of these things are great, but the factor that really sold was the customer service. The gentleman who helped me during this transaction was very respectful and courteous. I honestly felt like I would not have been hassled or "given the run-around" if I had any problems or complaints. To top it all off, he is an American speaking fluent English. Having had an issue with a major distributor who shall remain nameless(*cough*,D**L), there is something to be said when you can talk to the customer service of an American company and NOT have a language barrier(speaking as an American, of course). I have already told some of my friends about this company and I will continue to spread the word when the opportunity presents itself. I sincerely hope they keep up the good work.

This is the first time I ever bought from PowerNotebooks.com. I purchased Sager NP8662 for a really good price, possibly the lowest price ever for the system. I have one word to say on behalf of the company: FANTASTIC! Very friendly and helpful, fast-reacting, eager-to-help customer service down to one-on-one level. Best in business, I could not believe how much they actually put effort on trying to make me (customer) happy. My rep (Donald Stratton) actually called me out of nowhere to chat about the order I just made a day before. Whoever said Dell or Alienware has the best customer service certainly has not met the people in PowerNotebooks.com!
I will definitely recommend people I know to buy from PowerNotebooks.com, and I will do business with them again if I ever need something in the future.
2 thumbs up!!! 4 if you count my toes.. This review was modified by its author, f4m45, on

I ordered a Sager 8662 (15.4 inch WUXGA, Intel® Core™2 Duo P8700 2.53GHz Processor w/3MB L2 Cache, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M w/1GB GDDR3, 4GB (2 SODIMMS) DDR3/1066 Dual Channel Memory) from powernotebooks.com in mid March, 2009.
Due to the recent release of the new video card, the order was delayed until April 10, 2009 - which is clearly no fault of the merchant. On the contrary, I was contacted by phone by a charming young woman who explained the delay clearly and concisely. She then went on to describe the method of Sager and how powernotebooks.com closely monitors for quality of their product. She answered all of my concerns about shipment and signature confirmation and made me feel much more secure about the process - afterall, dropping $1800.00 on a laptop isn't easy.
The laptop arrived in pristine condition, no dead pixels, with my options of Windows Vista Premium completely installed and updated. All drivers were updated and ready to go.
I cannot say enough nice things about Powernotebooks.com. I was very apprehensive about buying a high end laptop online, but I would strongly reccomend to anyone considering such a purchase to make powernotebooks.com their first (and probably only) stop. You won't find a better deal on such a high grade of hardware anywhere else and you certainly will not find anywhere near the customer service.

This is a great company! Customer service was top-notch and my sales representative, Donald, was very helpful in my deciding to buy my newest notebook: PowerPro 15:3. But I would have to stress that it was the excellent customer service I received that was the main reason why I chose to buy from this company. Of course, price and product selection were other factors I had looked into.
I have an APO address, military overseas address, and the notebook arrived within 8 days after having been shipped via USPS Registered mail and in great condition. The notebook was packed well into a box and that was again packed into another box. I received all of the CD's used to build the notebook, from the BIOS to the Vista software I ordered; a nice surprise. The sales staff and customer service representative have kept in contact with me via email.
About the notebook:
Monitor - 15" widescreen WXSGA
Casing - Silver (plastic)
Keyboard - Full with numpad keys
Upgraded the memory, CPU and Hard drive
I pretty much gave this notebook my own version of a built in test for about 2 weeks now and the system has held up. The CPU maintains a very cool temperature and the graphics card does run hot but continues to function. I recommend buying a laptop cooler with good fans. With the cooler I have been able to keep the GPU temp from 74 degree Celsius down to around 65 degrees.
Pros:
- Customer service
- Knowledgeable staff
- Great shipping packaging
- 3-yr warranty!!!
- Great prices
Cons:
- GPU runs a little hot but easily addressed
- Some of the keys on the keyboard are a little small but get used to it after awhile
- The function and Left control key are flipped; again something else to get used to

The folks at PowerNotebooks.com are really easy to work with, were very good about answering questions, and now I have a really slick notebook that replaces my previous desktop very well. My Sager feels very solid and professional compared with any computer I have ever owned! I hope this computer gives the performance long term that I have already enjoyed. The folks at PowerNotebooks add value to the entire package. Thanks a lot for a great product and service!

I found PowerNotebooks.com through this ResellerRatings website and I am so happy that I did. This is my second gaming laptop, my first was a WidowPC Clevo M57A that I bought to play Oblivion about 30 months ago, I wish I had known about PowerNotebooks back then, I paid too much and felt that since I was not too tech savvy, I was sold everything they could get out of me, i.e. why did I ever get a tv tuner for my computer especially when I watch so little tv!?!
This afternoon, I called PN's 877 number to ask a few questions since this time with the help of ResellerRatings I was able to find other comparable laptom ODMs and make some comparisions this time and not get overcharged. The phone was answered by the owner, Donald Stratton, he was immediately helpful and pleasant to speak with, I described the computer I did have the 17" monster Clevo (hard to tote around) and told him that I was looking for a 15.4" gaming laptop that would last me 2-3 years, so I was thinking of getting their top of the line model. Donald then proceeded to ask me a whole slew of questions regarding how I intended to use my computer and what applications I would be running, at which point he shocked the heck out of me by telling me that the computer I was thinking of buying was way more than I would be needing! I wanted to make sure though that if I got a lower-end machine that I would not be frustrated by it in a year or two, at which time Donald explained in great detail of how the technology is so much ahead of the software for the type of applications I was planning on using that I would not have to worry.
I then explained that I was not tech savvy and did not know the differences between all the different options and what they really came down to, so amazingly over a two hour phone call, Donald explained every component that would be going into my computer as well as giving me a better foundation for choosing the right platform. I could not believe it, I was having a Computer Hardware 101 class and most of the time as we were going through the various options, I was being suggested to buying either just a standard feature (at no extra cost) or a slightly upgraded component. Since I play mostly Role-playing games and not Shooters, I was continually reminded by Donald that the higher-end components would not be making that huge of a difference for me. There were only two components that I upgraded beyond my present needs in case I slightly alter my use in the next 2-3 years and that was the:
Intel® Core™2 Duo P9600 2.66GHz Processor w/6MB L2 Cache (25W) - 1066MHz FSB and the,
4GB (2 SODIMMS) Crucial, Corsair or Kingston DDR2/800 Memory (64bit Vista Required)
and when I it was the softest sell I had ever experienced.
My total system that I purchased is:
PowerPro P 15:3 Gaming Laptop - $1,698.00
15.4" WSXGA+ (1680 x 1050) MATTE w/nVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT w/512MB GDDR3
WSXGA+ - Black w/Brushed Aluminum LCD Cover and Palm Rest
Intel® Core™2 Duo P9600 2.66GHz Processor w/6MB L2 Cache (25W) - 1066MHz FSB
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound
4GB (2 SODIMMS) Crucial, Corsair or Kingston DDR2/800 Memory (64bit Vista Required)
320GB SATA II 3Gb/s WDigital Scorpio Black at 7,200 RPM w/Free Fall Sensor
Combo Dual Layer SuperMulti DVDRW/CDRW Drive w/Softwares
4-in-1 Memory Card Reader ( xD, MemoryStick/MemoryStick Pro, and Secure Digital (SD/MMC)
Built-in Intel® PRO/Wireless 5300 802.11a/g/n
Built-in Bluetooth Wireless 2.0+EDR
Smart Li-ion Battery (6-Cell)
Windows XP Home
Full Range Auto Switching AC Adapter
Spare Full Range Auto Switching AC Adapter
NO PowerPro Dead Pixel Guarantee
NO Intel® Turbo Memory 2.0 (Robson)
NO Spare Battery
NO "Medialess" Microsoft Office Software
which was $100 under my budget!
Do I recommend PowerNotebooks.com? Absolutely, I am completely confident that when my laptop arrives in 9-14 days I will be completely satisfied, I also know that if there is anything that I have questions, concerns or issue with, Donald and his staff will take care of it promptly and to my satisfaction.
If I am not too busy catching up on my games (new and old) I will post back here again to let you know how the delivery and timeliness came to a close.
I just received my new laptop a few hours ago, I had written a longer review but I was over the character limit. So straight to the point this time, I love my computer!
I am very happy with the construction, look & feel of it and have already been telling a bunch of people to buy from this company. Ever step along the way they have been helpful and friendly which is so hard to find nowadays. I plan on making my future purchases from them and telling as many people as possible, why they should also.

These guys did me right, near as I can tell. I originally had an order with Dell, and after two weeks of waiting, I canceled that order and called powernotebooks.com. Donald was great on the phone -- now keep in mind that I am a computer professional of eighteen years -- he gave me straight talk on what he considered good ideas and bad ideas on what to spend money on. He took the specs of what I was going to order from Dell and sold me a laptop that was MUCH better. Admittedly, it cost me about $1000 more, but the first thing I told him is that I wanted top of the line -- and that's what I got.
I also got it within two business days (I paid for overnight shipping.) This is after getting yanked around by Dell for two weeks.
We will see about the longevity of this Sager NP9262 notebook, but its performance is second to NONE, the timeliness was perfect, and near as I can tell the price was very reasonable.

This is a great company to do business with. I bought a laptop for business rather than gaming purposes. A representative from the company contacted me and went over my specs. He helped me save over $300 by revamping my specs so that I bought only what I needed and not more. When's the last time someone worked with you to save you money versus jacking up the cost. The laptop arrived right on schedule and works like a dream. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to buy a laptop. They are honest, prompt, and excellent to work with.

PowerNotebooks.com is simply the best online company a person can shop at for customized notebooks. I reviewed many online stores before making my purchases at PowerNotebooks, but none had the customization options that this store offered for a better price.
The customer service was great and very courteous, prompt to answer any questions e-mailed, and extremely helpful. The laptop was built and mailed in a timely manner and was well packed to avoid damage.
This is the second time I have bought a laptop from them (one for my wife and one for myself), and it won't be the last!!!
