We had the same experience as SKYRAT23. We also ordered the GA-8INXP and received confirmation they received our order AND PROMPTLY CHARGED OUR CREDIT CARD. Then two days later, we receive an e-mail stating it is out of stock and we have to WAIT FOR A REFUND! We checked our account the next day after receiving notification that the order had been cancelled due to being out of stock and the pending charge had been dropped. Then, two days after receiving the cancellation notice, we checked our account and the funds had been taken from our account. If they waited to charge our credit card until AFTER they check stock on it and ship the product, this would not be an issue. I guess they don't mind losing valuable customers.

Order a set of 6 Epson Cartridges without a hitch. They arrived the next day using standard shipping. Great prices and fast delivery. Can't ask for more.

I placed an order for 6 packs of Canon Photo Pro borderless 4X6 paper. Their website listed as MANY in stock and would ship the same day. After waiting a week for their website to display shipping information (which it never did), I called on 2/13/03. They could not seem to determine if the order was shipped or not. They seemed to have no way to even find out. They charged my credit card on 2/6/03 (the same day I placed the order). I can safely say that this is one of the worst experiences with an online retailer. I am totally dissatisfied with thenerds.net. I will never place another order with them and consider them very deceptive in their business practices. Do yourself a favor and pass on this retailer.

Canon S520 printer was ordered on Tuesday, shipped on Thursday and received the following Thursday. Very good for $90 + $6 shipping. However, tape on box was cut open on both sides on both top and bottom and the top was loose. Several of the cartridgeswere loose upon opening (I'm suprised they hadn't fallen out) and the instructions were used and torn. All hardware appeared to be sealed and taped and the printer works fine. Also, there is no packing slip-plastic envelop on side was torn open. This could be a return or refurbish, but maybe not. If you like everything new and unused in a sealed box this could be disappointing.

Very poor customer service. I placed an order today at 7:30 am for the GA-8INXP. Their website claimed they had nine in stock. At about 10:00am I called to confirm my order was not backordered and got a response saying "Your order has been sent to the warehouse" and was assured it was not backordered. Behold, now 8:30pm I check my e-mail and see a message from them saying "sorry your order is backordered". In addition I checked their website and found that they claim to have every motherboard listed on their website in stock. Its total bull. Read others posts, its true. They are liars. At least they are going to cancel my order with no hassle (hopefully).

Placed an order on 12/4 and IMMEDIATELY realized I'd placed it for the wrong item. Cancelled the order right away (the item I really wanted was backordered) according to the instructions on their website, which really amounted to putting the order on Hold. I then called first thing in the morning to confirm that they would cancel my order, which they claim they did. My credit card appeared to have been charged as soon as the order was placed (on 12/04)and as of 12/14/02 still had not been credited, so I called to follow-up. I was told the credit was in progress and to allow up to another 72 hours for it to show up. All in all, not a good first impression. I'll post back if my account does not get credited as promised, but it's not likely I'll try to purchase anything here again.

It can't get much worse than this. I ordered a hard drive, they accepted, they charged my credit card, I called to confirm, they told me it was being shipped, then almost two weeks later they said it was out of stock. I called and tried to talk to a CSR to get a substitution, but no help, no luck, no hope. A truly abysmal performance--if you could get lower than "bottom of the barrel," thenerds would be there. This company "appears" to be in some serious trouble and is using a "sell, get credit card charged, delay, delay,delay status notification, then a sob story about back order, then a cancel notice, and maybe a refund in a week or so" SCAM to keep themselves floating.
This is not an exageration. I ordered six(6) hard drives that were listed in inventory on 12/2. Four different drives, two the same, six total. They IMMEDIATELY CHARGED MY CARD. The web site would not show any status after a week. I called. Spoke to a rep. who said he would have to find out from warehouse what status of order was and he would email me. That was four days ago. I sent emails to cust.service for 3 more days. Finally got this notice:
"Dear Valued Customer,
Sorry about the inconvenience. Currently we are out of stock on one of the products you've ordered. Because www.thenerds.net does not believe in holding our customers back from receiving their products, we have cancelled this product on your order. Hopefully this will provide the opportunity to find this product elsewhere. If you are unable to find this product elsewhere, please check back with us within the week. Thanks in advance for your understanding and we look forward to serving you in the future.
A credit memo for your Order, #162XXX-XXX013, has been added.
Amount: $198.98
Posted: 12/12/2002
Reason: Backorder
Note:

THE NOTICE SAID THAT ONE OF THE ITEMS WAS BACKORDERED. NOT ALL SIX. THIS IS REALLY HOKEY. What was even more suspicious was the fact that the hard drives were unusually low priced compared to what they should have been. Did they really sell out?? Was it an honest inventory mistake?? Who will really know. Just be aware that it is going on here at TheNerds.net. Very bad form , at the least.
Buy at your own risk. Consider this another warning. One company that never has let me down it twoyears of buying is Googlegear.com. Try them. You will be pleased.

Short story - ordered product, received confirmation, waited a week and called. Product backordered, be here in a week. Waited a week and called. Product backordered, be here in a week. Dishonest/misleading...will not do business with this company in the future. Go Newegg!
