Do not order anthing from this company! I ordered a motherboard cpu combo and received it minus the rounded cables that were advertised. I also ordered a heatsink and fan. I discovered when I tried to install that the mounting holes for the fan were about a sixteenth of an inch off. When I called to complain, they insisted that the cables had been sent with the order and the holes did in fact line up. They said if I got a local technician to confirm what I was saying, only then would they consider doing anything.

Ordered motherboard&CPU combo July 8 2005. They called me on July 11 2005. Claiming OEM motherboard (MB) not in stock & to buy Retail MB for $10 more. "I sd no way and that you advertised OEM price you honor it don't bait & switch me" He said couldn't send retail mb for OEM price. I sd again send me MB you advertised, he sd he would have to cancel my order on his end and he did. This review was modified by its author, jia2005, on

Ever since I placed my order, I've been plagued with a bunch of virus emails, some of which have bzboyz.com and partspc.com email addresses. I sent them an email about it and all I got back was a form email saying that they recieved my feedback and someone will review it yada yada. Also, I placed my order on Wednesday and someone tried to call me on Friday at almost 8pm when I was out. Since it was late when I got in I tried to call on Saturday and was told that the person handling my order wasn't in and to call back on Sunday. Sunday morning I recieved an email cancelling my order because they couldn't verify the credit card. After reading some of the reviews on this site I'm glad I got out with my credit card balance intact though I still have the virus emails to contend with.

Excellent service and response to my concerns. I had some issues but they always responded promptly with a solution or a suggestion. This review was modified by its author, re13x, on

Slow as hell. After a week, still not shipped.
You can't understand the people that answer the phone. I think they don't have the part and are "keeping me out of the marketplace".

I will NEVER buy anything from partspc ever again. I had two negative experiences with them. The first time, I had to buy a warranty twice; they called after I had ordered and paid for a motherboard with a warranty and said that I had to send them additional money if I wanted the warranty I had already paid for. The second time, they sent me a cheaper processor than what I had originally ordered and paid for. I had to call them and demand that they send me the processor I had originally ordered and paid for. They reluctantly agreed and sent me the the processor I had originally ordered, but I have had nothing but problems with it since I installed it. It appears that it was a marginally operative unit that had previously been returned to them as a defect.
These people are bait-and-switch artists. Anytime you send them money for an item, you are caught in their web, and they will call you on the phone to try to extort more money out of you. If you refuse to send them more money, they send you an inferior item. This review was modified by its author, megabob6666, on

I received wrong CPU chip. They insist they shipped correct part, while I point out that the AMD cpuid program says otherwise. After two weeks and many EMails, still no satisfaction.
This was my first, and last, business with these folks for me.

I put in my order on 1/16/05. They immediately sent me an email asking me to post a positive feedback on pricewatch, after which I would receive my choice of 2 items with my order. The choices were a cell phone antennae booster or a mouse. I chose the mouse. My order was picked up by DHL on 1/18/05. It arrived at their Cranston,R.I. facility on 1/24/05, but not delivered until 1/29/05! Carrier pidgeon would have been faster.
As an accessory, I ordered a tube of thermal grease, which turned out to be a few drops in a cellophane pack. For the $5.00 that cost me, I could have gotten a big tube at Best Buy!
I ordered parts to build a PC for a client, from about 10 different E-stores. Not one of them took more than 4 days to arrive, one store with free shipping I got my item the next day!PartsPC took 13 days and they sent me the antennae booster instead of the mouse I requested.
I would never ever deal with these shoemakers again! Today is the 29th, and I'm building the PC right now, to make sure the CPU is good! After I posted the positive review for them, I read some of the other reviews, a couple stating they received bad CPUs! Now I know why their rating on this site is so low.

What most "somewhat" or "very dissatisfied" customers are saying about this company is correct. I also was attracted to them by the low price and decent feedback on pricewatch. They had the cheapest price / best feedback ratio and I was in the market for an AthlonXP 3000 400fsb. Like many, I was a bit put off by all the "addons" that they automatically hit you with upon checkout and it is up to you to deselect things like shims/thermal paste/special service (what the heck was THAT?) and even to have the chip tested before sending it. The funniest is the checkbox when you opt out of certain extra charges that pretty much reads like "confirm that you don't care what we send you!" Really left me with an odd taste in my mouth, so to speak. The pressure is certainly a reality and although I didn't get any phone calls at home, I believe that it was just because I gave a wrong phone number as I usually do so as not to be hassled.
Well, within a week of my FIRST attempt at buying the chip I, like many, get an email claiming that my order was cancelled because my credit card didn't go through. Like many who report here, I buy LOTS of computer goods and this is the first time I have seen this happen. Oh well...the only option they give when they cancel is to order again. Thus, I do with all the same information as the first time and it goes through this time around. Hmmmm....
Like many dissatisfied customers, I also suffered the DHL shipping delay but, as I opted out of their "speedy" service, I wasn't expecting it overnight. Two weeks plus, though, was a bit much. It did arrive, though.
Upon opening the box and checking to make sure that they sent what I ordered, the first thing that catches my eye is that, while the right item, the core is chipped! In a couple of places, I might add! It was well-packaged and was certainly NOT damaged in shipping. Really cheezed me off when I saw it because I was buying it to replace a cracked core on another chip that I wanted to replace with the new one!
Fearing a long/troubled (probably paying shipping as, remember, I opted out of the "gold service" charge!) I decided to give it a whirl anyway to see if it might actually run as I know some chipped CPUs can do from time to time. Luckily, I found that this was one of those times! Whew!
So, moral of the story, I lucked out...plain and simple. So far, at least (fingers crossed that that chip continues to run!) I won't deal with this company again, though. I also got the email offering free goods (a cheap mouse/other crap that I would have to pay shipping) in exchange for positive feedback. No thanks. It is clear that they are bribing customers to boost their pricewatch ratings. No thanks. I won't trust my luck with them a second time.

no complaints here, except that they call and hound you to upgrade stuff after you have placed an order. All else went fine though. This review was modified by its author, sileo5, on
