I should've checked this site before buying from them. I am one of many people duped and scammed by this high/low density RAM scam that this company specializes in running. I purchased high density 256mb PC133 RAM; well it didnt work... DUH!
I sent it back and asked for LOW DENSITY 128mb as exchange. I was hit with a bunch of bs about paying more for low density for over a month. I just gave up and asked for refund;however, these con artists are charging 15% restocking fee.
They are either from Pakistan or India, and dont speak English too well. eBay should remove this company ASAP.

This shop is selling high density PC100 chips on ebay as low density hoping they are compatible. When you find out they are not they give you the option to pay more for their premium brand (which also is high density).
All low density PC100 256MB SODIMMS will have 16 chips. There is no option for different capacities like other memory and either PartsPC knows this and is exploiting that or simply clueless yet doesn't want to stand behind their own mistake.
I was told I'd have to send the memory back by TRACKABLE carrier and in a box when I was sent the memory in an envelope. I was also told they get 15% to restock this per their RMA policy. This wasn't an RMA due to my error though...it was 100% their fault. It says low density in the auction several times, I was told it was low density ram prior to the purchase.
THIS IS A SCAM...they do have other deals but this company is not running ethically. I was promised in the end I'd get 100% of my purchase back but I'd cover shipping...well they just credited me $.87 cents short for the transaction fee. So basically they lost nothing and I am out $8 on a $25 purchase.

STAY AWAY from this crooked company. I carefully researched the RAM I needed for my PC and found it at Partspc. The RAM was DOA, confirmed with a memory test. When I contacted PartsPC about it, they ignored the fact that it was bad RAM and told me I had purchased high density ram and my motherboard required low density. They offered to sell me working RAM for an extra $18, or charge me only $21 for restocking. This is my response to this nonsense:
"Thank you for responding. However, you have been given inaccurate information by your technical people. Being aware of high density compatibility issues, I ordered LOW DENSITY RAM. Check out my SKU 18416. And you guaranteed compatibility with ANY computer.
Please don't play me for a fool with BS about having advertised this SKU as high density. The ad is still there, stating LOW DENSITY. Read it and then send me working RAM without trying to scam more money out of me.
http://www.partspc.com/ProductDetails.asp?CatID=56&ProdID=18416
Or refund the full price I paid without skimming off "restocking" charges or whatever you call it. I am angry about this fraud and will pursue it to the end. Please do the right thing and avoid problems for both of us."
Why would they restock bad RAM? So they could sell it to the next sucker and scam another $21 out of him/her?
They also recommended some "heat spreaders" which I bought. They had a label saying using them would invalidate the RAM warranty. Then they tried to back out of their warranty on that basis even though I didn't use the spreaders and told them so on a number of occasions.
It wasn't until I involved the Attorney General's office and informed them I was pursuing action through PayPal and my credit card company that they began to take me seriously.
Ultimately they did refund my money. But they only responded to force. Unless you want to spend time and money fighting them, stay away. There are plenty of good online sellers. This is not one of them.

We are sorry you had a very bad experience with us. Our customer service representative gave you the incorrect information. We have proceeded with a full refund and have sent you additional payment to your Paypal account to help cover some of the return shipping you incurred. Once again, we are sorry for our mistake. |

Bait and switch is right, I normally get my parts from the VERY RELIABLE newegg, but newegg is no longer carrying the socket 939 boards. Needing one to fix my friends dead board, I ordered the Foxconn 6100K8MA-RS from partspc. What I got, was my credit card charged 2x, and sent 2 mother boards. BOTH being the WinFast 6100K8MA. NEVER AGAIN will I use this company.

We are sorry you are unhappy with your purchase. The motherboard you purchased is a Foxconn board. Winfast is the brand they use on several of their products. This information is verifiable if you look at the product manual that was included with your product. You will see both Foxconn and Winfast used as the tradename. Foxconn has been using the Winfast name under license from Leadtek. With regards to being charged twice, we received 2 separate orders from you. One on 9/10 and the other on 9/11. If you placed the 2nd order in error, we will be more than happy to give you and RMA for a refund. To date, we have no record of you contacting us regarding this matter. Please give us a call and we will take care of you. |

Add me to the list of deceived consumers. I purchased a 1GB pc3200 DDR module and it did not work. After further research, I discovered that my computer (like many others have experienced)does not work with HIGH DENSITY RAM. It is true that PartsPC.com indicated that the RAM was high density;and my ignorance contributed to my victimization; but their having wording such as "buy with confidence", "satisfaction guaranteed", "life time warranty" put the nail in the coffin (guess who's inside the coffin). On top of that, during the checkout process, they continually attempted to sell me "additional" assurances(which raised a red flag, but the deal was Soooo good! ). I will be requesting a refund Monday. From other posts, Im expecting to get the "run around". I will also be monitoring my credit card account as well. With such questionable business practices, who knows what else they may do. Buyer beware. Dont be a victim.

We want to sincerely apologize for your purchase. High density IS less compatible than low density memory. However, it does work with certain systems and is therefore an inexpensive way to upgrade your memory.
We have thousands of customers who have purchased high density memory without any issues. We try to inform our customers of the compatiblity issue by placing a section that appears 1st on all high density listings explaining high density versus low density.
After seeing your complaint, we thought perhaps you had not read this section; however, after reviewing our description on our website for the part# you have purchased we saw that the section was missing.
We had already given you a partial refund back in September; however, we have given you the remaining balance plus an additional refund to help cover some of your return shipping.
We once again apologize for all of your troubles. If you have any further questions, please give us a call. |

Experience with company, especially shipping and customer support, extremely poor. Order placed a week ago now, and part still has not shipped. UPS billing information received 4 days ago but no shipment delivered to UPS. When email sent, took two days to get a response, and it simply said order has shipped. However, it has not. Merchant does not seem to care about customer service at all. I would recommend not shopping with this merchant if you expect your part anytime soon, or want someone with good customer service.

We are sorry you were not satisfied with our service. Your order was shipped on 8/27 which was a Wednesday. Shipping by UPS ground from Los Angeles to Washington State takes 3 business days. UPS does not ship on Friday or Saturday. and Monday was the Labor Day holiday. The package arrived on September 2nd which was exactly 3 business days. Unfortunately UPS and many of the other shipping companies do not update their tracking information quickly and sometimes information does not appear until the package is on their truck. We apologize if you felt that the shipping took too long; however, once it leaves our facilities we must rely on the information that the shipping companies provide us. |

DO NOT BUY - SCAM - BAIT & SWITCH
First the positive reviews are fake, that they have made themselves. Just read the wordings. These people are incapable of being trustworthy. Ordered memory, got crap instead. Whole business model is to bait and switch to expensive memory by sending customer bad memory first. Also you will end up paying shipping costs back for defective item. I even insured it because I wouldn't hold it against them to commit mail fraud and say the item was damaged during shipping and I'm responsible.

We are sorry that your product did not work for you. We assure you that we do not try to "bait and switch". First and most importantly because it is illegal. We have been in business since 2000 and are a member of the Better Business Bureau with an "A" rating. We always try to provide enough information to our customers before they purchase unlike some of our other competitors. In the product description on our website, we have a very clear section on top where we describe the product and inform our customers to check for compatibility. The item was not compatible with your system therefore the only options are a refund or purchasing a compatible product which is more expensive. We have already given you a refund; however, please give us a call and we will try to make you a more satisfied customer. |

I order 2 desk top computers that they assembly. One computer case was dented, USB front cover was broken, and did not hook up the front wiring for the USB connection. The other computer would not boot up properly because of the hard drive they recommend on their site. Hard drives are (SATA2/ SATA). It took 3 months for them to listen to me and send me the right hard drive. I had to pay up front just to return the wrong hard and a bad hard drive they sent me. I'll never order from this site again.

I ordered RAM online that was advertised with free shipping however shipping charges were added at checkout. I called, they were very polite, and said it was web site error and removed the shipping charge. The memory came very quick. but both sticks were defective. I filled out an online RMA for a refund but the terms were different then the web site. The RMA form stated that the refund is based on the current “market value”, which is naturally much less then the price paid. I called, they were very nice, said that the web site terms needed to be updated and refunded my purchase price minus the 15% restocking fee. You be the judge, I won’t be buying from them in the future.

I ordered 1GB of DDR 3200 memory from Partspc.com. A few days later the RAM arrived but when it was installed in my machine it registered as 512MB. At first I thought it might be an issue with my machine so I tried the RAM on another laptop that was a different make and model and it also registered as 512MB. Next, I took the RAM up to the local computer store and they checked it out and told me I got scammed.
I called PartsPC and after several tries I was able to get someone on the phone. The helpdesk person there insisted that is was something wrong on my end and he refused to listen to what I was telling him. The next day, PartsPC sent me an email stating that my machine was not compatible with the RAM that I purchased. However they have the correct RAM for an additional $30 or I could get a refund of 43.75 for the RAM that I purchased from them for 51.99.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

I will never deal with these folks again.
I ordered a 1 G DIMM for a Dell. The price was very good. Delivery was satisfactory. However, the DIMM they shipped was dead on arrival. I tried it on 3 systems under 2 different operating systems. There was no doubt that it was a defective part.
I asked for an exact replacement via e-mail, phone, and online chat, planning on using it in one of many other working systems I service.
After numerous phone calls and online chats, PartsPC never gave me a RMA number. Rather, they continued to try to raise irrelevant questions about whether it was the proper part for the PC.
Through the process of dealing with their customer service, I dealt with apparent language problems, e-mail problems and phone calls that were not returned. After a month I finally gave up - the time was not worth the cost of the part.
I believe, although I can't prove, that I encountered a deliberate policy of delay and obfuscation on their part in an attempt to avoid replacing a defective part. They succeeded in stopping my claim, but I want to create a record of their tactics.

*** BEWARE *** Potential Credit Card Fraud
I placed my order with a credit card that has never been used for internet or mail order purchases. I rarely use a credit card, and when I do it is locally for gas. The perp had my mailing address, and my phone number was off by one number. They are the only place that had all this information along with my credit card info. I will be fair and say I was satisfied with the mobo, CPU, heatsink/fan and thermal paste. The price and delivery were good. However, it is just not worth the risk to take a chance ordering from these guys.
