I have ordered D300s and payed through company debit card. Shipment was promised to be delivered in 6 business days. 10 business days passed and still nothing. I called them they said the bank didn't release funds and sent a mail which I did'nt receive. Called the bank and verified that no intent was done. Called back the beach camera again and explained what happened. Teller told me may be card number is wrong and assuring the phone line is secured asked my card info again. I gave everything but still waiting...

i have just experience that i rarley see else where the billing dept mr ebraham realy cares about customer service he gave me an excellent service & take care of my problem he has done such a good job that i put this company in my address book for future purchas thanks

Update: I had spoken with a rep from the company who promptly followed up on this review. I was appreciative of the honesty that he had shown in how my case was the exception and that they are trained to avoid these situations. They sincerely seem to care about the customer experience as they follow the reviews on the site and try to correct their mistakes.
I placed my order the evening of March 3--it was for a Canon DSLR body. They offered only USA warrantied bodies and were an authorized Canon dealer. Everything looked good, so I placed my order.
I called the next morning to make sure the credit verification was okay and to inquire when my order would go out. The helpful representative said that it would go out that afternoon (Thursday). I checked the website on Friday, and the camera didn't ship out. On Monday, I called in to ask about a shipping upgrade because of the delays (they were closed on Friday because of weather) and that I had an event that I would need the camera for the following Friday. The representative said that he would take care of the shipping upgrade to make sure I would get it in time.
Several hours later, I called in to verify that the order was shipped. Again, I was reassured that it would go out.
This is when things turn ugly--I received a shipping confirmation that evening that the order went out by ground and would arrive the next Monday.
When I called in on Tuesday, the representative coldly said "I can't do anything now that the order has shipped". There was no effort to expedite a second unit or do anything else to correct the situation.
Beach Camera did everything to convince me they were doing the right thing until it came to delivering on their promise (and I could cancel my order), at which point, the situation turned sour. Beach Camera promptly shipped order; price very fair for LG 55" TV; I will definitely purchase again from Beach Camera!!

Amazon.com order. I ordered from Beach Camera a s230 coolpix in SILVER as a kit from them and added fast shipping. One seventy and change total. Three days later they sent me an email that my order was on backorder! I needed the camera to take to Florida for the weekend... so no camera. Then I get another email from them..almost at the same time telling me that my order has shipped.. Great... until I scrolled down to see that they decided to send me a black camera and not the silver one that I had ordered. I guess they thought I would not notice or that I would not care. Well the black pkg cameras were same money as the silver...If I wanted to buy the black one that is the one that I would have picked! I called their 800 number and spoke to someone about the mess up. She told me that she was sorry. Well that does not get me the camera that I had ordered three days before. I had told her that I did not want the camera in black ,that I had ordered the silver one.I asked her why I did not get an email or a call to see if I would not mind getting the black camera and not the silver one? She told me that she did not know what had happened. I told her that I did not want the black one and that I was not signing for it. She told me that they were going to call fedex to get it sent back to them. GREAT... I am going to take my old camera to Florida... Thanks

I WAS IN CONTACT WITH A MAURICE J. IN
CUSTOMER RELATIONS. AFTER A HANDFUL OF EMAILS, HE WANTED TO SHOW ME THAT HIS COMPANY WAS NOT OF THE TYPE THAT I THOUGHT IT WAS. HE HAD TOLD ME ABOUT THE MIX UP AND THAT HE WANTED TO DO WHATEVER IT TOOK TO MAKE IT RIGHT BETWEEN US. I MUST SAY THAT IT WAS NICE TO NOT BE TREATED LIKE THE NEXT PERSON IN LINE. WELL WHEN WE WERE DONE TALKING HE WENT TO CHECK THE WAREHOUSE TO SEE ABOUT THE PACKAGE THAT I HAD ORDERED ( SILVER KIT ). WHEN HE CALLED ME BACK HE HAD TOLD ME THAT I WOULD BE GETTING MY CAMERA IN THE MAIL TOMORROW, AND I DID IT CAME IN TODAY 3/3/10. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH MY ORDER AND I AM VERY GLAD THAT I GOT TO SPEAK WITH MAURICE. AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED I WILL BE BUYING FROM BEACH CAMERA IN THE FUTURE. I EVEN THINK THAT I WOULD GIVE MAURICE A CALL BACK TO LET HIM TAKE CARE OF ME AGAIN. I NO LONGER HAVE TO GO AND SEARCH FOR ITEMS I WILL JUST GO TO BEACH CAMERAS SITE.... YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY...BETTER LATE THAN NEVER. MY WIFE WANTED THE S230 WITH THE 3 INCH SCREEN AND THAT IS NOW WHAT SHE HAS..... THANK YOU MAURICE...

An excellent merchant; order placed on a Monday was received the next day, in perfect condition. No annoying phone calls or other "verification" contacts to try and sell you additional merchandise.

UPDATE - 22/02 - Shortly after I posted this review I received an email from Maurice saying the refund had been processed. This showed up in my account yesterday.. so all has been resolved!
My experience with Beach Camera has been an absolute nightmare from the beginning.
I wanted to order a Mack Camera warranty for my projector, and as I am outside the USA, I rang them direct on 14/12. I told them my projector was valued at $6295, and I needed a warranty to suit. The salesman said I needed one with a bulb warranty, which although different from what I had thought originally, sounded ok to me. When I received the shipping confirmation on the 17/12 I found they were shipping me a warranty for projectors valued up to $5000!. I immediately emailed them, and later followed up with a call (international) asking why they had sent the wrong one. I was told the one I was sent was valued up to $8,000, and there had been a "misprint" in the confirmation. This was also confirmed in an email by a customer service person.
When the warranty arrived on 22/12 it was the one for $5,000!! I contacted Beach Camera immediately and asked what was going on. They said I would need to return it at my own cost! After demanding I was not at fault they agreed to pay approximately half the cost of shipping back the item. I still do not understand why I had to pay for something, when I originally identified the problem and was brushed off!. To make matters worse I had to pay AGAIN for the correct warranty before they could ship it out. I arranged for an RMA#, and sent the incorrect warranty back.
On 31/12 I received confirmation that the item had been returned, and that it would take 7-9 business days for the refund to go through.
And so I waited... And after 3 weeks there was STILL no sign of the refund, I emailed Beach Camera again on 21/01 asking where it was. There was NO reply to the email. And so after 5 days I requested again when my refund would be paid. I finally received a reply to this email stating a request had been "forwarded to the Billing manager" , who would process it within the next 48 hours, and the refund would show up within 4-5 business days.
I waited AGAIN.. and the refund did not show up AGAIN. On 15/02 I contacted Beach Camera asking where it was. It has been another 3 days and I have not received a reply to the email.
I DEFINITELY will not be dealing with these guys again. Only ONCE was there an apology for this whole mess, and it only came in the last email I received. They just do not seem to care about their customers. I have given them ample time to complete the refund, and returned the item promptly - even paying for half the shipping!
It has now been 7 weeks since the warranty was returned and I am still waiting for the refund, and a reason for the delay.

Sometimes what happens when something does not meeet your needs is more important than when it does. I needed to return a TV/DVD Combo recently and was given prompt and courteous service and was charged only a minimal restocking fee.

I placed a order in this company's web site for a Canon 5D MII camera and a couple of expensive canon lenses... on Monday got a call from their billing department, called them back confirmed the order. Thursday order unchanged in their site, called them to find out what was going on... they requested me to fax copy of my credit card and ID, faxed the info to them. I asked them how come nobody called me "we are sorry, will upgrade your order shipping and will ship tomorrow." Now a week later no changes in the status of my order... I am wondering if they really have these items in stock (as noted on their site) or they are trying to buy time to get them in stock and ship it to me. Really unhappy with my purchase from this company!
UPDATE: After my posting here I was finally contacted by this company... after an entire week of working with my bank and beach camera staff, my order was completed today (haven't received the camera yet) but according to them it will ship today. Called. VERY helpful man check inventory and said had stock on the new Samsun 55" LED TV, which several other vendors had lied to me about. He sounded trustworthy and I placed the order.
Before the day was over, received confirmation of the order, The next day got shipping notice, next day got tracking numbers, company shipping item and instructions for the delivery that included unpacking, placing TV on a location and verifying operation!!!! Delivery hauled off the boxing!!!
Could not have been better. BEST PRICE, best service and BEST overall experience!

This item was purchased as a gift and needed to be returned. It took three weeks and five phone calls after they had received my returned item before I had my refund. I will never do any business with them again.
update - upon seeing my review here, beach camera immediately contacted me regarding my refund issue. they apologized, refunded my shipping costs, and have offered to work with me in the future should i decide to purchase anything from them. while it was nice to have them follow up, i have not yet decided whether or not i will do business with them in the future. Beach Camera called me couple days ago to offer to refund double of the shipping costs. I also recommend Beach Camera to look at their internal processing, which they said they will. Because of their nice gesture and willing to look into any negative feedback, I'm updating my feedback to reflect that.

This is a horrible experience purchasing from Beach Camera! It took them 2.5 days to process my order. Even though I placed the order on 1/28 and paid for expediated 2-3 days shipping, they only place the shipment with Fedex on 2/1. All in all, I will only get the camera in 5 business days. I have promised to bring the camera home to Singapore on 2/3 and the camera won't arrive until 2/4. Beach Camera has totally made me broke the promise. And why the heck that I paid $22++ for expediated shipment?

I ordered a Canon L lens, turned out I'm not satisfied with the item. I called custumer service and spoke to Abraham S. He is very friendly and understanding. He gave me the RA and I could return the product today. To me, Beach Camera Custumer Service is top notch. I highly recommended to my friends and colleagues.
