Bought a microphone kit through Buy.com's Marketplace from Focus, the kit has multiple items. A week later the item arrived, but the kit was incomplete. I called and got someone on the phone very quickly (no more than 1 minute). They were accountable and friendly, and apologized for the erroneous listing (they were selling the microphone, not the kit). They offered me choices to either ship it back (at their cost) or drop the already low price even further and let me keep it. I chose the latter, and got an insane deal, I could get the rest of the stuff elsewhere. I am quite pleased with the experience, even though a mistake was made. And by this time (24 hours later), they have already corrected their Buy.com Marketplace listing.
I found a very low priced Tamron 90mmm Di lens on ebay and I liked the package and the price, but I wanted to change the " off brand" name filter to "brand name." So I called sales to answer all my questions and did not feel pushed to buy anything extra. I called several times and everytime someone picked up the phone without delay. The package came today and I thought some thing was wrong because I could not AF so I called there was no problem for them to pay for return, but fortunately I found out it was my fault and there was nothing wrong with the lens. I highly recommend this seller. They also have a very good rating on ebay.
Bought a Canon lens via "Buy.com." Sales price with shipping was $1701.20.
Checked my credit card bill and they charged me $40 for shipping and billed me for $1739! I called Customer Service(Focus Camera and AcePhoto&Digital) and thye said they would correct bill with faxed buy.com invoice.
They didNOT and billed me the $1740 anyway. They now will not answer Customer Service phone or respond to eamils.
DoNot EVER buy from these scam artists!
I ordered a Sony KDL-52V4100 from Focus on Friday and it was delivered on Monday. I got a great price with no pressure or upselling, and I promptly received a a factory-sealed box in excellent condition. I recommend Focus highly.
I ordered a new 67mm graduated ND Tiffen filter from focuscamera on ebay. A month later I received a filter in a cracked case, unsealed, with dust covering the filter, use marks on the rim of the filter, and a worn booklet. I wrote back to them complaining but they ignored the issue.
FOCUS CAMERA called me back shortly after placing the order to verify some payment information, shipped the order within one business day, and it arrived on time in excellent condition. No sales pitch. Would shop there again.
Received order 3 days after placement. Exactly as ordered and in pristine condition. No sales pitch, but salesman was knowledgable and courteous. Am totally satisfied, would order again and recommend this dealer to others.
Very dishonest store. I found a lens on their site (that was in stock) while they were running a holiday promotional and bought it online. After a week of not hearing anything back, I phoned them up and asked about my order. They said that it was out of stock but back in and that I would be shipping my order shortly. The person asked if I was interested in an extended warranty (he lied about about the manufacturer warranty covered) or filters. I said no to both. Later that afternoon I received an email stating that they canceled my order. After several emails back and forth telling them to not cancel my order, they now claim that the price was incorrect on the website and they are re-offering me the same lens for a much higher price, but are willing to throw in the warranty or filters. I would stay away from these people. They will waste your time and energy because of their dishonesty.
Over the last 10 years, I have ordered a number of things from Focus Camera in New York. I live in Canada and have items purchased in the US shipped to Sumas, WA. All four shippings over the years have arrived when stated and the items have arrived in good order. I have been very satisfied with their service. The last order arrived even before an order I had made with B&H Photo, and the order from Focus did not cost me shipping, where as the one from B&H did. Personally, I would order from Focus Camera without hesitation again.
Extremely poor customer service. I returned an item unopened within one week and they still charged me a 10% 'restocking' fee. In addition I had to call and email many times even to get that as they have a communication problem between their customer service agents and their credit department. Needless to say I won't be ordering from them again.
Took a while to ship my order (over a week), and there wasn't any way to track the order; the website simply said "processing." Also, took a few days for customer service to respond to an email. However, I did eventually receive my order.
I ordered a Fuji Finepix F30 from them. Quick turnaround (paid extra for faster delivery). The most important part is that when i had a problem with the camera -- power button stopped working but could view images by playback so camera was still ABLE to function -- i was able to return the camera and get a replacement. The experience was painless.
For some reason, there are A LOT of discount camera stores in brooklyn. I have had bad or near-bad experiences with a lot of them to the point where i am highly suspicious of a discount camera store in brooklyn. However, Focus Camera is not one of them. No hard sells, no phone calls needed to "confirm" the order, good customer service. Feel safe buying from them!
