I bought a CPU from them and paid with paypal. My acoount got chargerd a day later and I received a traking number with UPS. The day after that I received an email with some BS that they asked the UPS to return the item and they will refund me back immedietly. Trying to understand the possiblity of price mistake I didn't complain. But it is may 26 and still no refund. I may have to file a complain to get my moeny back. very very disstaified.

well I get my refund for the item the they after I wrote this review! but they didn't refund the shipping. I had to call and they told me that they will refund the ship[ping part as well. It showed up on my account the same day!!!

Put in a order they charged my card then canceled the shipment on me on the delivery date to my house but they finally shipped out what I ordered another week later. So took 2 weeks to get what I ordered and thats with the hassle of having to call them to verify my credit card and calling and emailing their customer service to give me my order. But in the end I got my order. Still waiting for my credit because they had to make another order.  
 
Edit: well it's been a week since you guys got back the package and no refund still.

okay..I'm starting to think the replies from the customer service on here is a facade to show they are trying to help. I'm going ahead with a credit card dispute and changing my review to unsatisfied now.  
 
edit again: it's 6/5/08 now. So the CS here that answered me is full of BS. No refund. Once they have your money they don't want to refund it at all.  
 
edit once again: It's 7/10/08 and they are charging me again for same transaction. What a half assed company.

Wow! I found the place where I can vent and share my pain with you all. Here is my sequence:  
5/9/2008: I bought two(2) E8400 CPU's from CompUSA online.  
5/11/2008: I got an email from CompUSA stating my order was shipped.  
5/16/2008: The CPU's arrived at Cerritos, which is a city close to where I live, and was ready for delivery at 7:03am. At the same time, the tracking showed, THE DELIVERY INTERCEPT REQUEST FOR THIS PACKAGE WAS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED / SHIPPER REQUESTED RETURN OF PACKAGE. (UPS# 1Z6F88710308274247)  
5/17/2008: I emailed CompUSA and asked why did they ordered the return.  
5/18/2008: BAM! I got 2 emails from CompUSA stating that I authorized the return. WTF?! Later that day on 5/18, I got an email from "Alex" saying that their warehouse shipped the wrong CPU's and the E8400 were out of stock.  
To make it short, I emailed them again and again. I was offered $10 off. One reply was just ridiculous; the rep named Elizabeth wrote TWO lines in response and gave me a link to their $20 off using a Paypal. What a way to deal with their customers! I recorded everything. Should the Consumer Protection Office be involved? Just like many of you, I've been lied to and have been suffering from this ordeal. Any suggestions are welcome!

Extremely disappointed in this seller. Shipped my products, charged my credit card, and then recalled my package without any communication at all. I have yet to receive any email or calls to explain why my credit card was charged, package shipped, and then intercepted. Very disappointed in this seller which I had patronized online and in-store.

I bought 2 E8400 CPU. After my card was successfully charged, I got tracking number. But before my order arrived, the shipment was intercepted without notifying me. I thought since I paid the money, at least I should be notified about modification to my order??? I was then offered an exchange of the same items at same price after the original order was returned. However, they never ship the exchange! After I called them, I was so disappointed with them. Basically, they lied so much. One CSR said the item was wrongly packed from Intel, so they had to recall. When I asked the exchange order, they denied its exist. I told them I got an exchange number, then they said it's impossible to have exchange number only from online. I told them I got this exchange order number because after I hit exchange button, their system gave me this number. The CSR then said they don't have the E8400 at stock. But after I was transfered to another CSR, I was told they have E8400 and I can have it at $199.99. I never experienced so much lies in such short time in my whole life. I know a lot of people got their original order delivered with correct CPU. And it seems every CSR has his/her own version about the reason the order was recalled, the stock of E8400. I got offer that I can exchange at the original price and then I was told I have to pay $199! i'LL NEVER do business with them again.

Ordered 8 E8400's for my business. I took the day off to pick them up at the house they never arrived. I called and was given a bunch off lies regarding them putting the wrong item in my order and the being sold out of my item. I know they lied for a fact as a friend of mine had gotten his even when they tried to lie to him!. I will never do business with them again! I spend apox $5,000 a week buying from online etailers and won't be visting their website again!

UPDATE: Issue resolved.  
 
I still will not shop here again after numerous lies, mail fraud, and just dishonest business practices.  
 
In the end they honored 1 of 2 items ordered which helped resolve things. It's not about receiving the item, it's about business practices upon which they treat their customers.

I can't believe how compusa can hold up their business again! I purchased the CPU online and was waiting at home on the day of delivery. But they just intercepted my order without even sending me a notification email. If I didn't check the tracking number again, I would have wasted the whole for nothing. BEWARE of this online store, they just lost another customer!

Even after they posted here I would be hearing from them I've never received any contact. They returned the item with out my permission and refunded my order (it was an item I was waiting on and it never showed up it shipped on may 11th and then I received a return email on may 16th) . When I called them they tried to sell me the same processor for more money. I was told this is a bait and switch and I've contacted the BBB, my local district attorney, and a national consumer group ( as well as ReselleRating.com of course ). I think it tells a lot about a company when they say we will be in contact with you and it never happens. If they fail to contact me I can assure them someone will be in contact with them on my behalf. Thank you.

I have placed an order on May 9th 2008 for a CPU, Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Processor BX80570E8400, then it took 2 days to be shipped (May 11th 2008). However, the package has been pulled back on May 16th 2008 without any notice.  
 
I have called them up few times, each time, I have a different answer such as "Wrong Item", "Damaged Item", "Wrong CPU", and finally, "Price Mistake".  
 
To me, it is not acceptable to lie to customer(s). If it is a price mistake, just have an announcement about it before doing any action such as pulling the shipment back. I strongly feel that I am not respected by CompUSA. Therefore, I do not think that I will purchase anything from CompUSA again.

Order the E8400, package was intercepted the day of delivery but never received any email regarding about why the package was intercept until i call them multiple times and each time i get different response such as they sent out the wrong cpu, mislabeling of the Intel box, cpu was defective and bunch of other lowlife excuses . What bothers me the most is that they charge my account instantly after i place the order, now they are telling me that i will not receive my refund until they received the package from UPS. Never expect me to order from them again in the future.

Ordered E8400 at a ridiculously low price (like many people). Never really expected to get it. It was sent out and "intercepted" by the UPS driver for shipment back to the store.  
 
What is beyond irritating, however, is a generic, third-grader-written apology for "sending me the wrong item" and canceling my order. Hey, just say, "We priced this thing accidentally well below cost, we're taking it back. Sorry." No sweat. But if they're petty enough to tell an unbelievable lie over this dumb thing, I'm surely not going to trust them with any future orders. They'll just lie about those too if they make mistakes, so why ever order anything there?  
 
Update: Through sheer luck, the package evaded delivery intercept. The item shipped was definitely the correct item.

Terrible shopping experience. After receiving an order confirmation, the computer never arrived. The customer service phones are never answered (two calls, each with a 45 minute hold time before giving up) and emails sent to the cust. service department are never answered. I finally discovered (by searching my online account order history) that the order had been canceled. I still don't know why.

I ordered software from their website. It said it would ship out in 1-2 days. After waiting 5 days and checking the status daily on their website (it was never updated), the status changed to "Cancelled." THEY NEVER WARNED ME. I would not have known had I not checked the status! This was a VERY important order to me, and they just up and cancelled it with NO warning!  
 
COMPUSA IS THEE WORST ONLINE VENDOR I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. Good luck trying to get in contact with them on the phone too! Do not buy from them! They are just crap!

I placed an order for the Acer 24" LCD Monitor for 249 after rebate. 2 days later, they cancel my order because they were "unable to process your order using the information  
you have provided."  
 
I checked and doublechecked the billing info and shipping address and all is correct. I replied to the email as directed for any questions and have gotten no response. I have tried their website customer service with now response.  
 
Myself and 2 other friends ordered the same monitor and all were cancelled. One of them called in directly and a rep stated that the billing and shipping addresses did not match. This should make no difference since the shipping address is listed as an authorized shipping address on the credit card. I have not been able to get a response from anyone at CompUSA.  
 
Needless to say I will NEVER attempt to purchase anythign from them again.
