I ordered a vizio hdtv from dell.com and everything went fine. I didn't have to make any calls to their customer service so that may have been what differed from the rest of the reviews on here. The only problem that arose was the day after I ordered, Dell updated the delivery date and said it would arrive 2 days earlier. I was happy when I read this but then when I checked the UPS tracking website they said that the estimated delivery date was still the original. Well I waited to see if it was gonna show up but it would've been impossible anyway since that UPS doesn't deliver on labor day. But it showed up today and I was satisfied. I just hope Dell gets their shipping/delivery dates in order.

Dell offered a Canon 1200 digital camera for $115. They advertised this camera, at the $115 price, on both Dell.com and eBay.com.  
 
3 days after placing my order, I was told it was a price mistake, and I could now purchase the camera for $165.  
 
I do not believe they had a price mistake on TWO DIFFERENT websites, at the same time, for the same price.  
 
Obvious bait and switch tactics. Dell.com has lost me as a customer.

We ordered the Panasonic VIERA TCL37S1 37" LCD television from Dell. Before we attempted to set it up, we were awaiting for a screen protector.  
 
In opening the box, come to find out that the the TV was damaged. The next morning, my husband called Dell, spoke to one agent and then her supervisor.  
Given that we didn't respond with 21 days since ordering (1 week for shipping to Ak.) but less than 30 days, they would not honor an exchange. Tough luck! And to long-time customer of their computers!  
 
So now, we're taking this up with our CC company.  
 
Word of advice: Upon receiving your merchandise via UPS or FEDEX, ask them to wait while you open the box to see that no damage has occurred physically and even if the box looks fine (ours did.)  
Immediately hook up your merchandise to make certain it works. You only have 21 days from the time you hit "confirm order" to do this.  
 
Ultimately, I would say to just save yourself the grief. These crooks do not deserve having customers.

I ordered a Dell color laser 2130cn printer with duplexer on 7/5/2009. The next day the duplexer shipped. A couple of days later, I received an e-mail stating that my order got canceled. I called up Dell to check what happened, and after talking to 4 or 5 people, they finally told me that it was canceled due to a pricing error on their web site. I told them to get UPS to intercept the duplexer before it was delivered and to refund me my money. They told me I wouldn't get my refund until they received the duplexer. The duplexer was returned to Dell on 7/23/09 and they still didn't refund me my money yet. They told me the refund wouldn't be processed until they confirmed the duplexer was returned, even though the UPS tracking # showed that they received it on 7/23/09! Finally on 8/8/09, I e-mailed them that I wasn't going to wait any longer and would file a dispute with the credit card company and they refunded my money on that day. Needless to say, I will not do business with Dell again.

I ordered a Fasttrack Dell Inspiron 15 on July 29th. I was told that it would ship the next day (July 30th) and that I would have it by August 5th. I only ordered the Fasttrack model because I needed it to arrive ASAP and could not wait for a custom unit to arrive. Today is August 3rd and it still has not shipped! The status since July 31 has been "In Production", which is strange since I ordered a pre-built unit. I have spoken with multiple people at Dell, all of which have been less than helpful. I am told that they do not know why it has not shipped, cannot tell me when it will ship, and will not get it to me by the promised date of August 5th. I am told that it will be over a week from now before I can expect it to arrive. Again, I have spoken to every customer service representative that I can find, their manager, and the sales agent who I bought the system from. None of them have been helpful or have made any effort to fix this for me. This is my first Dell purchase and I do not plan to deal with them again. They will not let me cancel my order at this point, even though the unit has not shipped, but I plan to return it when it arrives based on their lack of customer service and misleading information.

Beware of Dell computers! Dell customer service is the worst of any company I have ever dealt with. They speake broken English at best and are very rude with no compassion for the customer. The Dell computer I purchased was not as advertised and a complete waste of money. Do not waste your time and money on a Dell. You will be sorry.

I used to purchase quite a bit from Dell in the past but NEVER AGAIN. They have the worst customer service and have transferred all of their reps to India.  
Ive purchased several items only to have coupons denied for no reason, and then receive multiple broken items from Dell again and again.  
 
Trying to call in for support is futile as the Indian reps barely understand english and are very rude at times, and expect to be transferred several times during your call and put on hold indefinitely.  
 
They dont care about customers any more and treat you like garbage and their quality in computers has plummeted as well.  
 
AVOID DELL LIKE THE PLAGUE

I have bought 5800 TouchScreen Nokia phone from Dell and today is 27th July 2009 and my phone screen is gone. It shows the screen damage and guess what I never ever dropped it.There is no outside screen damage, its internal.I am very very disappointed.

My original purchase date was on june 3 over the phone with dell sales team. At this time the sales rep told me and my father that the order would be shipped within 7-10 business days. A month later on the 2nd of july I finally received the order. This mini had some issues with the wireless and bluetooth working. I called and spoke to technical support where I spoke with some indian fellow who could not speak english for over two hours at which he told me to restore the entire hard drive to fix the problem. I did so and it still did not fix the problem so I returned the netbook and made a new order for a different notebook. When I made the order I was very unpleased and complained about the entire situation at which I was told my order would be sent to a special department and the shipping would be refunded on the order. I was also told that I would be called within 48 hours to let me know that it had taken place. I was never called. I then called on the 13th because I looked online and the shipping had not been refunded. The man refused to help me and said I was denied the refund and there was nothing they could do. He would do nothing for me and turned me away. IF you are considering ordering from dell or from there dell financing department I would strongly suggest going somewhere else they have been the WORST experience I have ever had with a company!!!

So I ordered a new laptop, an Alienware M17x as a graduation present to myself, I placed my order on 6/19/09 and its just been sitting in the "In Production" stage for almost 3 weeks now and it has a estimated delivery date of 7/15/09, almost a month! I understand an order taking that long if its the holiday season or if a part is out of stock but I have received no email or anything about any parts being out of stock, I've tried to call Dell and ask whats the hold up and all they can tell me is that it is "In Production" and that there is no delay. This customer service is horrible, if there is a delay I want to know why!

So i posted on the dell forums complaining about how customer service is giving me the run around on my order and dell deletes it and i get an email saying it was removed because it is in violation of their terms and conditions saying I posted sensative information about an order, just goes to show how they want to hide how horrible of a company they are and how they treat their customers.

Finally got a customer service rep who gave me answers, he told me my machine has shipped to their distribution center and will be going out Monday, lets hope he was telling the truth. Still I wouldn't recommend Dell to anyone, stay away from them!

two of the computers worked great but another one keeps restarting for no reason. called Dell a dozen times and get three tech to look into it. problem still not resolve over a month. we are supposed to have next business day service and I am quite certain it's hardware issue. but...

Tried to order Yamaha Headphones from Canadian Website. Would not let me login with my email address since in the past I had once used it for the US website. Customer Service Chat Link was broken. Called customer service, talked to three customer service representatives, some hard to understand, before I eventually got transferred back to the main menu. Gave up and registered on Dell Canada with another email address. Tried to place order, but website forced verisign for Mastercard. Had to set a Verisign password before I was allowed to place my order. Ordering process did not prompt for shipping address so I accidentally placed order with shipping address same as billing address. I tried to edit shipping address online but order would not show up. It kept directing me to the US site and kept showing me someone else's order history (it seems that dell re-uses customer numbers in different regions). SO, I called and the customer service representative said that they could not change the shipping address. I cancelled my order.  
 
UPDATE: Event though the CSR gave me an order cancellation number, my headphones arrived the next day. In the end they delivered, but their online ordering system and customer support leaves much to be desired.

Dell has a really bad return policy. I placed an order for a 32" Vezio HDTV. Then the next day I went to Costco and found Vezio 37" HDTV for the same price! So I called them and wanted to return it. They told me that they would charge me 15% restocking fee. I told them I hadn't received it yet. I'd like to refuse the delivery. They told me no matter what, 15% restocking fee cannot be removed. How ridiculous is that? It's brand new and never been touched.  
Also, the customer service is really poor. When you call them for purchase, they are very nice, almost instantly answer the call. I had some glitches with credit card purchase: the VerifyVisa didn't work on their website. I called my visa company, and was told it's must be their website problem. Then I called them and left a message, and they call back in a short while, and very eager to get the deal done.  
However, when I tried to call them to return, I was directly twice to a department, and waited half an hour to get some one to talk to. The representative is Leslie, and she told me they cannot remove the restocking fee. I asked for her supervisor, Eddy, and explained the situation. He too told me he cannot remove the restocking fee after I reasoned with him for a long time.  
Post Note: When I received the TV, I noticed they shipped the TV with its original box, no additional packaging. Maybe that's why they need to charge me 15% restocking fee because it's not brand new anymore. Once I accept the 15% restocking fee, everything else with the return was very smooth: they send free return UPS lable and keep track of the return status.

I have ordered a Inspiron 1525 from Dell. The overall quality is good, but the webcam did not work from the day 1, and I'm still trying to fix it ... I have reinstalled the drive for a good 10 times and tried to search online for solutions but still not able to fix it. Now I'm still using my desktop's webcam. Sign ... Not good.
