Canada Computers is the most competitively priced computer store that I have found in Mississauga. However, they have horrible customer service, policies, and practises.
My only perfect experience with Canada Computers has been from buying a Soundblaster Audigy sound card and Logitech X-230 speakers. Now, onto my horrible experiences in a chronological order:
1. I bought a Radeon 9550. Problems everywhere. Black screen on start-up. The packaging/product had evident signs of it being re-sealed, yet it was resold as new. I tried to exchange/refund, but they refused to without a 15% charge since they said it had a chip on it, WHICH WAS ALREADY ON THE CARD. Anyways, 15% charge later, I returned it.
2. Couple of months later, tried them again by buying what I thought was a Radeon 9600 Pro. The salesman and product list they post in their store listed the product as a Radeon 9600 Pro. I installed it and it was working fine. However, I noticed that the performance was sub-par of a Radeno 9600 Pro. Finally, I checked the model number on the box with the model number for a 9600 Pro on the manufacturer's website and I realized that they actually sold me a Radeon 9600 Pro EZ Edition, which is actually an under-clocked, slower version of what I wanted! Wanted a refund, but no dice again. I am stuck with this thing now.
3. Bought a motherboard. Had signs of opened packaging. Installed and wouldn't POST. Had to go through hell in order to get an exchange. Finally got my exchange 3 days of frustration later and I got it to work.
Buying from Canada Computers is a real lottery. The only reason to buy from them is the price, but if you take into account of the time you waste and the 15% charge to refund their large amount of faulty products, it would more worthwhile to buy from a respectable, but more expensive store.
Also, a note, their customer service is horrible at the store in Mavis Mall in Mississauga. They are rude and will go out of their way to lie to you about how a computer works in order for you to keep a faulty product. Be warned.
One last point is that I personally witnessed one of their salesman put a video card which I returned right back for re-sale after he checked for missing parts. He did this even though I had claimed that the video card was faulty.
