What a fiasco. I purchased the item (vacuum cleaner) online to be picked up at the store. When I get to the store, there is nobody at the dot com station where you need to pick up the order. I ask the guard who then directs me to customer service.
The customer service line is long and I wait over 10 minutes to be helped. The associate at customer service tells me they don't do the online pickup there and directs me back where I started. When I tell him nobody is there, he tries to find someone to help. He finally gets someone who then tells me her computer is down and she has to find a computer where she can take care of the pickup.
At that point I told her to just forget it. I picked up a vacuum off the shelf and paid a cashier. The whole transaction took about 2 minutes. Once I got home, I cancelled the online purchase.
What is the point of allowing you to pick up an online purchase in store if you are not set up to make the pickup quick and painless.

Nice 15 year boy that just started his career at BestBuy was nice enough to recommend their best suction cup mono pod for my ultra compact camera.
It seems that SunPak makes such junk now that after opening the item and using a camera of 1/2 the recommended weight, this suction cup will not work on any surface for more than one minute.
More Junk Sold by BestBuy in these Rough Times.

I tried to order a Seagate Replica hard drive from Best Buy at $106.49. This price was found on three separate websites. However, clicking on the Buy Button in PriceWatch.com for this item took me to Best Buys website and a price of 119.99. Three levels of customer service people did nothing to honor the price. This was the same problem experienced by three other people according to reviews on Price Watch.

Bought 2 26" monitors for high end editing work. The customer service was excellent and knowledgeable. They took their time to make sure I had what I needed. Overall an excellent buying experience.
Oh, this was the BestBuy in west Los Angeles.

NEVER purchase items under a special promotional offer to get other items for free from Best Buy if you actually expect to receive the free items. I purchased 2 Blu-Ray disks and was supposed to receive 2 eMovie tickets I could use for 2 summer movies. NEVER got them. I called customer service several times over a 4 week period and they (finally) told me that it was "while suppies last"! They're coupons!! How could they run out?! I even bought the 2 Blu-Ray disks the day the promotion started. I never should have opened the 2 disks. I can't return them now (I never would have bought them if it weren't for the 2 eMovie coupons). Corporate sized Bait and switch at it's finest. This review was modified by its author, kfumike, on

Ordered a Razer Mamba mice which was at the moment back-ordered given its rarity and initial release :). I was able to get mice @ a low price thx to the online gift cards that I have received from BB customer service due to previous orders that didn't go through due to errors on their part. BB Customer service really goes above and beyond through these compensations. Anyhoo, I was able to receive the mice before the estimate of arrival which was a surprise. I can't comment on the shipping speed given the mice was on back-order. The packaging of the mice was really good given how "special" this mice is.
However, there are things that Best Buy needs to improve on such as: if the item is back-ordered there should still be an option that I can pick up the item @ the store when it becomes avail instead of just choosing shipping (which cost extra) because none of the stores in the area has it in stock. Next, contacting a customer service rep via phone is time consuming due to the "long" wait time. In one case I had to wait almost 45mins before giving up. Plus, once the point of having them call you when you still need to WAIT. It should be improved through having a customer rep contact you when you filled out the info via BB's website instead of a automated machine call you and put you in a "line".
For the BB stores themselves, that's another whole story that's totally negative (-) given the lack of professionalism in this one case where I had to pick up two Samsung 26" lcds, but found out that the simpleton whom I called ahead of time failed to put the right lcds up in front. When I got to the store, I talked to the simpleton and he was reluctant in helping me in solving the problem. The store had 3 lcds (2 new, 1 demo; I asked for two new ones, but when I got there...someone already got 1 new one). I then demanded to talked to the manger whom knows what to be done. The manger was able to offer me the demo 35% off which was good enough for me. The simpleton failed in getting the right item(s), failed in admitting his mistake, failed in getting a manger when there was no solution coming from his head. Store-wise, BB needs to better educate the employees on customer service.
Anyhoo, I look forward to future purchases @ BB online when there are some hot deals. This review was modified by its author, Raiden911, on

Best Buy is my favorite place to shop. I have had nothing but great experiences with them. I buy everything there and the best purchase I can remember is when my husband and i went to Circuit City when they were closing to get a deal on a TV. Of course, we left and went to Best Buy and got the best deal ever. We purchased a 46" Plasma TV for $850. It was a brand new tv that had been opened by the store so we got 100 bucks off. We have now had it for months and nothing has gone wrong. We also got an apple tv at the time and the staff were really helpful. I have never had to return anything there unless it was my fault. Great experiences always.

My husband and I literally spend thousands of dollars each year at Best Buy, however after our experience tonight, that will stop. We went to Best Buy to purchase a Dell Laptop. While at the store looking at the laptop, I noticed someone had bestbuy.com pulled up, and saw there was an offer for up to $70 off a printer with the purchase of a laptop. I asked the associate if they could match that in the store, he said it would not be a problem, and sent the laptop and printer we chose up to the Geek Squad counter and told us they would take care of it. When we got up to the Geek Squad counter the guy said he acted confused and left us there for 20 minutes while he went to supposedly check with a manager. He came back and said the printer was already discounted in the store so they couldn’t match the online price. Not a problem -- We said that we would just order the package online from their computer in the store and choose store pickup (it was a $129 printer we were getting for $29, so it was worth the extra hassle.) We ordered the computer online, went to eat, and came back to pick it up at the CS counter. After 30 minutes of waiting for them to “grab out order” they came back and said the laptop was not in stock and that they couldn’t process the order. There were 4 computers in stock before we went to eat, so we knew surely they hadn’t sold them all in less than 30 minutes. The lady at Customer Service was extremely rude and said they did not have 4 before and do NOT have them in stock. I walked to the computer area, asked a salesman if the laptops in the case were the model we wanted, he said yes, and then I brought the CS lady over and physically showed her that the model is in stock. Over an hour later, after their CS reps called bestbuy.com to find out why they couldn't 'pick the order', their final solution was to cancel the order on bestbuy.com, refund the money, and then price match the online deal in the store which they said they initially couldn't do!! Thanks for wasting 2 hours!!!

I bought a Gateway laptop 2 years ago. I bought the extended warranty too. It works fine until Jan 11th 2009. My computer crashed. So I took it into Geek Squad. They sent it out for repair. Apparently it was the mother board. Fine. So I took it home to charge it and it wont turn on. So I took it back. I had it 1/2 hour. They said it was the harddrive. So they sent it out again. I got it back in another 4 weeks. I went back to bring it home and it worked. Yeah. For 1 week though. So I had to take it back. This time they junked it and I get to have a new laptop. The trick is I still have almost a year of my other warranty left and I don't get a refund nor can I transfer it to my new laptop. I will never do business with them again. Since January 11th to date 3-27-09 I have had the laptop in my possession for 1 week.

I ordered two monitors through BestBuy because they had an excellent advertised price for the monitors. They accepted the order, put a charge on my cc, then emailed me that they had run out of stock and put them on backorder. I figured ok, fair enough, it was a good sale, I will just wait for them to restock and they will send me one. But no, instead, a couple of days later they emailed me and said they had set their sale price too low, were not going to honor their own price, and had canceled the order. To add insult to injury they then tried to sell it to me at nearly three times the original price! Talk about a bait-and-switch!

One of the worst companies I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with. Sent many emails to their customer service department to complain about how many days it takes to ship an item. It seems like they completely ignored my original complaint and never did reply to the problem at hand. Must have emailed them at least a half a dozen times and never did receive a satisfactory answer. They finally did send an internet coupon for my trouble (from the sound of their emails back to me it's a wonder they were able to deduce I had a problem), which I chose to ignore. Like I was going to do business with them again, after what I had just been through, right. Read my lips, "will never do business with this company again".
