I ordered a SOny PD15- from this company on-line on 7-31. I was called the next day to "verify" the order and was high pressured to buy accessories I did not need pr want. I was promised by the rep, "Kenny" that the item would be shipped that day and arrive on Friday, since I had paid for priority overnight shipping. My Credit card was charged for $3200+. I did not receive the product or a tracking number on Friday so I called customer service to verify and found out they were closed on Friday. I called back Sunday and was told by the rep, Mike, that the item would be shipped on Monday. I did not receive a tracking number on Monday and called C.S. I was told at that time that the product was "oversold" and would "probably" be in Friday. I cancelled the order at that time and requested a refund.
On Tuesday, (the next day), I received a phone call from the merchant stating that my credit card had been declined for the order I placed the previous day. I explained that I did not place an order, that I had cancelled an order. I again requested a refund of the order made on 7-31 and was told I would not get a refund since my card was declined. I explained that my CC had been charged for the $3200+ and I would expected a refund. The rep said I was unreasonable and hung up. I disputed the charge with my CC co. Their response was they attempted to ship the item, but I refused delivery.
THis company has still not refunded the charge from 7-31. I have reported this incident to the N.Y. BBB and will report this theft to the N.Y Attorney General if I do not get a refund. (I might do it anyway).
N.Y.C. BBB reports this company has an "unsatisfactory" rating due to the many complaints they have received.
BUYER BEWARE.

I purchased a Canon S50 camera from them and then I received a phone call a day later asking me to confirm my order. They were trying to upsell me on a battery and an extended warranty. He told me the warranty on the camera was only 90 days labor. When I told him I thought it was 1 year he ask where I had seen that. I explained that it was on Canon's website and he said "well that must be correct". I should have hung up right then. When the camera did arrive, it was defective. I called their customer service only to be put on hold indefinently. I called back and got a hold of someone that told me that I would have to pay a shipping charge to send it back. I then told him that I wanted to just return it and purchase from someone else and he said they would change me a 15% restocking fee on the defective merchandise.

I ordered a digital camera and received a phone call the following morning asking for the 3 digit security code on my credit card and just like the other reviews to push additional sales of accessories. This was the most annoying part of the purchase. He said I should purchase a card reader so I could download images faster and save on battery power. The download through the camera takes seconds. He exagerated that to 15 minutes. The special was for $49 instead of the usual $59 and a quick online search found one for $32 but I know I don't need one. He also said that it takes 5 hours to charge the battery. It takes two hours and says so in the instructions, so I don't think I need a spare battery. I declined all the extras and did receive the camera by Fedex 2nd day. The camera is new in the box and just great. If you do your research ahead of time, you can get a good deal, but you do have to deal with the phone call. For $14 more, the same camera was available at NewEgg.

I purchased a digtal camera at a great price, but when I was talked into upgrading my 128mb card to a high speed card the card I recieved was not high speed. I called and was told that I would have to send the card back and wait to get a new replacement. I still have not recieved the paperwork and do not think I will. This is one of the worst internet co. I have ever dealt with. And customer service stinks, youwait for a half hour on the phone and get put on hold.
Don't use them pay alittl extra and get the good custmer service!

I purchased a camcorder from Digital E-Tailer, and had a reasonably good experience, with a few exceptions that should go on record.
First, the good:
• I placed my order over the phone, easily and quickly, and was told honestly that the product was in stock.
• When I had a problem with the receipt of my order, customer service improved the situation immediately and satisfactorily.
• The time on hold for customer service never exceeded 15 minutes (which I consider quite good, if not exceptionally good, for a discount online store).
Now, the bad. The degree to which these things are tolerable are for you to judge. Personally, a savings of $200 was worth the slight discomfort these things caused.
• The box arrived with the UPC code cut off of the outside of it. According to the manufacturer, this is unimportant in terms of warranty or any other product services; still, the box was tampered with (everything was inside it, though).
• My sales rep, Kevin, was very, very pushy. He was polite, though, until I expressed that I wanted no extras with my purchase; he couldn't get me off the phone fast enough.
• Kevin told me that the product was in stock, and would be shipped that very day; the shipping part was untrue.
• Kevin lied to me about the MACK warranty. He said I had to buy it *right then* if I wanted it ever. In fact, you can buy a MACK warranty from anywhere within the first 30 days of owning your product (and, incidentally, much cheaper than even the "special first-time buyer price" that Kevin was anxious to offer me as his special customer).
• Kevin failed to give me an order number.
• I received no confirmation e-mail.
• On the following day, when I called C.S. to confirm shipment, I was told it "barely missed the truck" (yeah right) and would be shipped out THAT day (a second lie).
• On the next day, I called again about the shipping, and was finally told the truth: that it takes 2-3 days for a product to go from being ordered to shipping out, and that it was scheduled to ship the next day (which it did).
• I received no confirmation of shipping, either, but was provided a tracking number by C.S.
If I had not been lied to by the sales representative about shipping, and had the lie repeated by customer service (on my first call), I would be much happier. I only became concerned because what I was told was not what was happening. Also, the cut in the box concerns me overall, but again, does not affect my product or its warranty.
I hope all of this information helps. If you buy from here, don't get pressured to buy extras; shop around. And let the sales rep know that you prefer honesty to being told what you want to hear; I would have bought the product either way. This review was modified by its author, rplotkin, on

I have documented my entire interaction with this supplier and will gladly provide it upon request. (preynoldva@yahoo.com)
This supplier takes orders for products they list as "in stock" and then they do not ship them. When you call thier customer service dept they use some sort of "contact management" software to read the last lie you were given (they say "Can you hold on while I check the status of your order?") and give you another series of lies to stall you until they finally ship your product (I cancelled my order after 1 week)
I also HIGHLY suspect that they create fake feedback on such sites as "Bizrate.com". If you take the time to browse through all 70+ reviews that are currently displayed I think you will agree.

I ordered a Canon i950 printer for $228 including shipping, paid with VISA. Unlike other online experiences, I received first an e-mail then a phone call at 8:30 AM requesting order confirmation "for my protection."
Like most people, I have purchase protection through my credit card company, so it's really for their protection, not mine. It would have been fine if he'd said that up front, that they are a low margin company and need to protect themselves by confirming orders, yada yada yada. After insisting that I provide them with my billing address, again insisting it was "for my protection," I canceled the order and went through Amazon, where the free shipping and $25 rebate more than made up for the sales tax. Total price was $220, and no hassle.

I ordered a Canon G3 Digital Camera on Tuesday. Recieved a call on Wednesday to confirm my order (left message to call them back). Called back Wednesday evening. Talked to the sales rep asked a few questions and tried to sell me accessories but not high pressure. I told them no to the accessories and extended warranty. They shipped my camera Thursday and I recieved it on Monday by Fedex. Overall pleasant experience. Would order from them again.

I am unable to submit an invoice number because I have not received the item I ordered on March 12, 2003. I have made at least eight phone calls
to the company. I even have talked to the supervisor several times about my purchase of a Nikon Coolpix 4500 digital camera. He assured me on he would ship the item by May 2 and he would email me a USPS tracking number. I talked to him Monday May 5th and he said he would email me the tracking number that day. The salesman said they ship all USPS orders once every week to two weeks. I accepted that because I am in the US Navy in Japan, things take longer. They charged my credit card immediately a total of 538 dollars and yet they have not emailed me once concerning the status of when my camera will be sent. 56 days ago I placed the order. I still have not received any confirmation that the camera has been sent. The retailer is not concerned about my happiness with this purchase and another totalling almost 700 dollars. I also ordered accessories for $125 dollars under a seperate purchase. That order took 5 weeks to send. This retailer is totally unconcerned with acting in good faith yet they were totally concerned with charging my credit card right away. My next email will be to VISA to discuss this problem in getting a refund.

I've read all the reviews, most dated months ago. I ordered a Canon S50 digital camera on 4/16/03, great price. The salesman asked, since it was a 5mp camera, do I need extra compact flash cards, I said no, I have these from a previous camera and he said great. The deal was done. Six hours later I received email confirmation and a Fedex tracking number. On 4/18/2003 I received my camera, everything is as it should be. Great service, great delivery.

Bought Sony Cybershot DSC-717. Came to this outfit through CNET. Placed order online. Received a call back from salesman trying to verify credit card number. Here're the bad things:
1. Extremely rude salesman. Put me on hold constantly and the hold is always long. Almost wanted to hang out on him.
2. Extremely pushy salesman. Tried to sell me a so-called great deal accessory items. Found out through the web that those great deal were not that great after all. The only reason I cave in was that I was planning to get those items anyway and I was afraid they were going to tell the camera is no longer in stock if I refuse to buy the accessory items.
3. No email confirmation after I placed order.
4. I was promised to receive tracking information through email. Nothing happened. Had to call them up.
The only good thing, my camera snd the accessories arrived as promised.

I called Jerry for the Sony DSC F-717. He was not too pushy with accessories but I did want to buy a battery and a memory card. He convinced me to get the filter kit at a fair price and warranty from Mack for less than half of what they list it for. He also reduced the price for the battery and memory card. I was not familiar with Mack Warranty but for $80 for 3 years, it seemed an OK deal especially when he threw in free second day shipping. Jerry told me I could take it to any Sony service center which I found out is totally untrue. Further, the battery he sent me was an after market and not a Sony battery. I have sent them an email as when you call them there is a one hour hold time. I have requested them for an RMA # for the battery and the warranty. I will post again after I hear from them. Never again! I guess you get what you pay for. I ordered a camera on Saturday. On Monday I got a phone call "to verify my order", and to try to sell me additional accessories. They were polite, and took no for an answer. I was told it would ship on Monday or Tuesday. On Tuesday I was told it would ship on Tuesday. On Wednesday I was told it would ship on Wednesday. On Thursday morning I was told that it had shipped late Wednesday, but that they didn't have a tracking number yet. Thursday evening, I was told it had shipped Thursday morning, but they didn't have a tracking number yet; I should receive an email in a few minutes. Friday morning -- a week -- I'm on hold waiting to find out what today's story is. And asking for order status seems to be something they've never heard of - it sometimes takes a half hour!
Update - 2003-01-20.
I may have been a bit harsh. When they finally did ship my order, they shipped it overnight, though I had originally only paid for non-expedited delivery. And when the camera died a day after it arrived, the whole return/replacement process went very smoothly, including again expedited delivery. I'll probably buy here again - but only if I'm not anxious about status, feedback, etc. This review was modified by its author, Doug_Eldred, on
