Short and Sweet...This Company is a Disgrace to Honest Merchants everywhere. A Brand New Samsung LNT-4065F, a gift to my son for Xmas Died on 12/27..the store refused to exchange it for us, though they had them in stock.I also purchased a Bosch Stove the same day..was promised delivery on 12/21..wife took off from work to accept delivery which NEVER CAME. It was delivered the following day, and when I called them to reduce the 100.00 charge for shipping, they refused. I went to the store in person the following day and Picked up the TV myself, not trusting their delivery service for my sons Gift.they then credited me back half of the delivery charge from the stove delivery...DOD also promised us the stove would be converted from Natural Gas to Propane by the delivery people..the deliveryman almost cried to me saying he told the shipper..DOD..he had no clue how to convert it..and was told "It's EZ" by the jerks at DOD...it took ME 2 hours to read through the instructions and convert it myself..then the LED Readout for the oven controls and temp. died.
Don't even THINK about dealing with this company.I have filed a complaint, the first of Many, with the BBB. I also, at the time the TV was purchased, took out an extended warantee with Repairtech. When I contacted Repairtech to inquire the terms of the contract, and register the TV with them, the Contract # DOD provided me with was INVALID..when I called DOD they gave me a new #..when I tried the reg the NEW # they told me my # referenced a CAMERA Lens, and not a $1,400 Samsung LCD TV..DOD is "Looking Into it"..as will the Div. of consumer affairs of NJ,soon.

i bought a samsung DLP tv via the digital e-tailer web site on october 18th based on c-net's certification. i paid for fed-ex saver 3-5 day shipping.
after placing the order online i received an email stating that the store would be closed for the next several business days and that my order would be processed when they were back in the office. this was disturbing because the office closures weren't disclosed on the web site.
i waited until the offices were open and called a customer service representative to make sure my order was being processed. i was subjected to 15 minutes of disturbingly hard upsell to additional services -- the fact that i declined additional items half a dozen times had no effect on the person i was speaking to, who finally told me that unless i bought 300.00 worth of additional items (including a bulb replacement plan) that he couldn't guarantee my order would be processed until the following week. at this time i terminated my call.
i received a tracking number in email the next day with instructions to use the fedex site to track my shipment. when i attempted to put the number in the fedex site it was returned as invalid -- so i read the bottom of the email i received which said that if i ordered a television that a different shipping company would be used. this was disclosed at the bottom of the mail as a footnote, after the tracking number and clear instructions to use the fedex site. the name of the alternate shipping compay was not provided, so i called digital e-tailer again and was told that the company name was seko.
i tracked my shipment through the seko site but delivery estimated far exceeded any 3-5 day window -- when i called seko, they said they were unaware of a 3-5 day delivery policy and that it was an issue with the retailer for claiming those dates. when i tried to call digital e-tailer back for a refund of the preimium i paid for 3-5 day fedex service i was put on hold indefinitely and did not get my refund.
my experience with this company was very disturbing across the board -- from the numerous office closures that weren't disclosed to the highly aggressive and threatening "customer service" rep who basically said my order would be held hostage unless i bought additional items to the obvious bait-and-switch on shipping, this company has demonstrated a lack of concern for customer service or honest and up-front business at every turn. Not worth the time or effort. Seems to not want to sell anything. Placed an order online March 18th for Canon 300D. Got an email almost immediately giving me order number and saying I will get a confirmation when the order ships. Got an email on March 21st telling me to call 1-877-538-2453, Ext 247 to speak to Brian ("Thank you for your on-line purchase. We hope your shopping experience was pleasant. Please contact us regarding your online order."). After about 6 calls I finally got through to Brian, he said he will "route me to someone who will give me info about my order." After on hold for 10 minutes, someone answers then puts me on hold again. After a while, I just called up "Brian" again and explicitly cancelled the order. I'll just go someplace else, pay a bit more, and have my camera in a much shorter time.

This place is a con! I placed an order for a Canon Optura 40 camcorder on March 19th. I was asked to contact a sales rep on Monday the 21st by email. When I contacted the sales rep, he tried to sell me some lenses as they had some rebate that I had not claimed. I declined, and he said OK, the order will be processed later today and shipped out.
I checked online the next day, but there was no change to my order. I contacted their customer support and they said it was ready to ship out that day (Tuesday).
When I checked the next day, Wednesday, the status of the order had gone to billing. I then got a phone message on Thursday asking me to contact their sales rep. When I called on Friday the sales rep said they were out of stock on the Optura 40 and asked I wanted to upgrade to the Optura 50. I had had enough, I cancelled my order there and then.
I will not be shopping with them ever again.

Like an idiot, i placed an order without checking their rating. The hard sell phone call came the next morning. People, when i order something with next day air, i expect it to just show up the next day, no questions asked. It turns out their website lies about what is in stock. I called every day to get a tracking number, only to be told the camera was due in that day. They gave up after a week and charged back my card. Simply terrible.

I placed an Internet order for a Magellan RoadMate 700 + windshield mount + dash mount on September 24. Their web site claimed all three were in stock, and made big deal that they never charged your credit card until merchandise is actually shipped. The order arrived on September 30, with the dash mount backordered. Checked their web site and it still claimed this item "in stock." And, digitaletailer charged my credit card for all three items.
Tried calling the non toll-free number given on their invoice, to find out why they charged my credit card for the back ordered item when their web site made such a point of not doing this. Got a recording that their customer service department was closed for the next three days (Thurs/Fri/Saturday), then call terminated.
Finally got through to digitaletailer on October 5 and cancelled the back ordered dash mount kit. They promised to post a credit to my credit card; I wonder if they will do so with the same speed they charged my card?

I ordered a SOny PD15- from this company on-line on 7-31. I was called the next day to "verify" the order and was high pressured to buy accessories I did not need pr want. I was promised by the rep, "Kenny" that the item would be shipped that day and arrive on Friday, since I had paid for priority overnight shipping. My Credit card was charged for $3200+. I did not receive the product or a tracking number on Friday so I called customer service to verify and found out they were closed on Friday. I called back Sunday and was told by the rep, Mike, that the item would be shipped on Monday. I did not receive a tracking number on Monday and called C.S. I was told at that time that the product was "oversold" and would "probably" be in Friday. I cancelled the order at that time and requested a refund.
On Tuesday, (the next day), I received a phone call from the merchant stating that my credit card had been declined for the order I placed the previous day. I explained that I did not place an order, that I had cancelled an order. I again requested a refund of the order made on 7-31 and was told I would not get a refund since my card was declined. I explained that my CC had been charged for the $3200+ and I would expected a refund. The rep said I was unreasonable and hung up. I disputed the charge with my CC co. Their response was they attempted to ship the item, but I refused delivery.
THis company has still not refunded the charge from 7-31. I have reported this incident to the N.Y. BBB and will report this theft to the N.Y Attorney General if I do not get a refund. (I might do it anyway).
N.Y.C. BBB reports this company has an "unsatisfactory" rating due to the many complaints they have received.
BUYER BEWARE.

I purchased a Canon S50 camera from them and then I received a phone call a day later asking me to confirm my order. They were trying to upsell me on a battery and an extended warranty. He told me the warranty on the camera was only 90 days labor. When I told him I thought it was 1 year he ask where I had seen that. I explained that it was on Canon's website and he said "well that must be correct". I should have hung up right then. When the camera did arrive, it was defective. I called their customer service only to be put on hold indefinently. I called back and got a hold of someone that told me that I would have to pay a shipping charge to send it back. I then told him that I wanted to just return it and purchase from someone else and he said they would change me a 15% restocking fee on the defective merchandise.

I purchased a digtal camera at a great price, but when I was talked into upgrading my 128mb card to a high speed card the card I recieved was not high speed. I called and was told that I would have to send the card back and wait to get a new replacement. I still have not recieved the paperwork and do not think I will. This is one of the worst internet co. I have ever dealt with. And customer service stinks, youwait for a half hour on the phone and get put on hold.

I have documented my entire interaction with this supplier and will gladly provide it upon request. (preynoldva@yahoo.com)
This supplier takes orders for products they list as "in stock" and then they do not ship them. When you call thier customer service dept they use some sort of "contact management" software to read the last lie you were given (they say "Can you hold on while I check the status of your order?") and give you another series of lies to stall you until they finally ship your product (I cancelled my order after 1 week)
I also HIGHLY suspect that they create fake feedback on such sites as "Bizrate.com". If you take the time to browse through all 70+ reviews that are currently displayed I think you will agree.

I am unable to submit an invoice number because I have not received the item I ordered on March 12, 2003. I have made at least eight phone calls
to the company. I even have talked to the supervisor several times about my purchase of a Nikon Coolpix 4500 digital camera. He assured me on he would ship the item by May 2 and he would email me a USPS tracking number. I talked to him Monday May 5th and he said he would email me the tracking number that day. The salesman said they ship all USPS orders once every week to two weeks. I accepted that because I am in the US Navy in Japan, things take longer. They charged my credit card immediately a total of 538 dollars and yet they have not emailed me once concerning the status of when my camera will be sent. 56 days ago I placed the order. I still have not received any confirmation that the camera has been sent. The retailer is not concerned about my happiness with this purchase and another totalling almost 700 dollars. I also ordered accessories for $125 dollars under a seperate purchase. That order took 5 weeks to send. This retailer is totally unconcerned with acting in good faith yet they were totally concerned with charging my credit card right away. My next email will be to VISA to discuss this problem in getting a refund.

I recently ordered a Sony DCR-TRV840 camcorder with a manufacturer rebate being offered of $100. Of course, the vendor called "to confirm" the order and tried to sell additional accessories and extended warranty. I did agree to purchase the exended warranty. I also asked at that time if they would be forwarding the Sony rebate form along with the camcorder. The customer service person said they did not have them because "Sony only provides them to vendors selling at list price." He advised me download it from the Sony website (which I had already done) but said some of their customers have had trouble getting the rebates and I should be prepared to argue with Sony, but that I should be able to get it because the product is not gray market and is USA factory sealed product. BOTTOM LINE - THE CARTON ARRIVED WITH THE UPC LABEL (WHICH IS REQUIRED FOR THE REBATE) REMOVED FROM THE CARTON. When I called customer service they claimed that "SONY REQUIRES ALL RETAILERS NOT SELLING A MSRP TO REMOVE THE UPC LABEL." Their attitude was basically - too bad, we didn't promise you a rebate! In my opinion, this firm has stolen $100 from me by removing the manufacturing labeling and prohibiting me from claiming the rebate that I expected to receive from Sony! Since reading this site , I have learned and confirmed that the BBB says "THIS FIRM HAS AN UNSATISFACTORY RECORD." This review was modified by its author, Mactax, on
