I put an order with this site on behave of my dad 2 days ago. Although I insisted that the $449 price tag for a Canon 40D (which is worth $1.3k) could not be true, my dad wants to try it anyway. Not surprisingly, I got an email from them caceling the order due to "backorder" 1 day later.
This site is a scammer.

Expresscamera.com is one of the most inept sites I have ever used (they don't keep their web site up to date, thus prices, acceptable credit cards, and descriptions are of dubious accuracy); and the customer service supervisor with whom I spoke was so hostile I had to hang up on him. They advertise the lowest prices, but even if the items were free, I wouldn't 'buy'. They seem to take pride in their surliness. I highly recommend that all buyers should avoid this seller. Bad karma.

I cannot believe I didn't check with this site first!

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE store. When I made the purchase, the web site stated "Free Tripod, Case, and Cleaning Kit with ANY purchase" Great! Bought a Nikon flash. I was called a couple of days later and told that they don't take American Express (funny...since I think I would have seen that when I paid...but I didn't think anything of it) so I asked them to hold my order for a few days and I would call back with my VISA. When I did, I was actually talked into buying a different more expensive flash. When I asked about the free Tripod, he said...hmm...that promotion is no longer available. When I went to the web site a minute later, it was still there, so I called back and was assured by the lady who answered"Oh yes, we always put in the tripod with every order. It's automatic"
Of course, flash arrives, no tripod. When I call I was told that that promotion does not exist for my order and rudely asked, "who told you that? I'm the only woman working at this company."

FALSE ADVERTISING!

Sadly, I didn’t find this useful website until after placing an order. Once I started reading these reviews, I instantly become worried and called the credit card company to be on alert for any charges different from what I authorized. I too received an email requesting that I confirm the order and give them the ever so important 3 digit number on the back of my credit card. I did so but unlike most others, did not get the hard sell. I was transferred to three different agents who asked the same questions (order #, 3 digit #). Greg, the one I finally spoke to, wasn’t rude, just terse but I was able to ask him when the order would ship. His reply: “tomorrow, yeah tomorrow” and hung up abruptly. I waited with baited breath for a follow up email that said my order is cancelled so I wouldn’t have to deal with these folks again (I didn’t want to initiate the cancellation for fear of a “cancellation charge”). I am happy to report that my cancellation email arrived this morning. Same wording (“…on back order…”; “…order cancelled…”, “…we’re very sorry…”, “…we pride ourselves on …”) as noted in other reviews. Clearly these folks are just after information and they’re getting it. What I don’t understand is why the Attorney General’s office is taking so long to prosecute. I’m lodging a complaint as should everyone. The moral of the story: STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

i ordered a Canon Camera package the other day and recieved the order conformation on line,,but then recieved an email that said to call and confirm.. when i called the guy i talked to tried to sell be much more expensive items, like a $200 battery,, $100 lens caps, etc.. when i declined them all he rudely said "enjoy your package" and hung up on me.. later in the day i recieved a cancellation email stating that the item was not in stock and was on backorder.. i called and held on the line to speak with a manager (which of course was the same jerk i spoke with yesterday),, but different name??? he was again very rude, acted like he was mad that i dared to bother him about this,, he asked me if the item i ordered said "in stock" and no i didn't see in stock anywhere nor did i see it on any other item they carry (i checked quite alot). he told me the order was not canceled but was on back order and i read the email where it clearly stated "cancelled" and when i asked about getting it for the same price when it does come in he said "sure" and hung up.. certainly not professional or courtious and where all those certificatons, safe signs on their site came from i'll never know. this same thing happended to my neighbor. as soon as i get off of here i am calling my credit card company to put a block on my card so they can't charge me .. i certainly do not trust them and am just curious if our friend "joe" or whatever his name is today isn't writing them himself because there is no place on there to write your own review.. definately BUYER BEWARE.

Express Cameras is now either operating as "Lenses N' More" or Lenses N' More is using the EXACT same scam. www.lensesnmore.com

Ordered the Canon 70-200 F2.8 IS USM last Friday, at $1189 with free shipping. On SUNDAY I get a call, "we need your CVVM number". I didn't think much of it, gave it to him.

Then he started talking about how Canon makes a "plastic mount" and "metal mount" version and this is the plastic mount one that "WILL BREAK". He wanted to upsell to a $2500 "metal mount" version of the same lens.

I was driving so I told him to hold the order (I had spent 3 hours researching this awesome lens with NO mention ANYWHERE of any problems)... called my friend who works at Norman Camera and he said, "oh yeah that's a scam".

Luckily they haven't charged anything yet, so I ended up cancelling my credit card (what a PITA, have to wait 10 days to get a new one).

Stay away from this company AND Lenses N More!

UPDATE: 11/21 10:15am PST: Just got off the phone to explain to him that I wanted to cancel the order. He said, "great I'll just charge you for the cancellation fee". I told him good luck since I cancelled my card. He said, "fine so I'll send you to collections and sue you". Laughable.

These guys are real creeps, obviously stay away.

PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! I beg you literally on my knees. Do not deal with this company!!! RUN! RUN! Block the website!!! Do whatever you need to do to NOT deal with them. I am extremely surprised that they can do business like this in Good ol’ US of A. Fight these people and their business by joining NJ State AG suit @ http://www.nj.gov/oag/newsreleases06/pr20061130a.html. I only wish I saw this site before my purchase; these people practice utter fraudulent tactics to swindle your money.

I never thought I would have a story like this to tell – being too cautious about IT and online business etc.

But here it goes…

Yesterday [11/19/2007] I tried to buy Cannon EOS40D body and EF 17-55mm IS lens for $399.00 and $649.00 respectively as advertised at expresscamera-all-customers-are-suckers-com. Mr. Peter Handers @ X237, “sales manager” did classic bate and switch deal by telling me some third party lens is better, furthermore, if EF 17-55mm lens is bought, I need a plastic or metal mount that costs $2399.00 or $2599.00. Like a sucker, I gave my debit card number before hearing the total [what not to do online lesson]. To my dismay, I was floored by hearing that my order was over $ 2000.00 with third party lens ($699.00) which I didn’t want along with battery charger (299.00), battery (299.00), 1 GB flash memory (over $200.00) etc. Before I could say much he said he would be right back, when he came back on the phone I said I want to cancel my order. He refused; mind you I am on the same phone conversation as the order. He said that he charged the card already and he needs a faxed copy of $169.00 registered check made out to them for processing credit card for a refund!!!!! After 15 – 20 minutes of low down wheeling and dealing, I still said I want to cancel, he threatened to charge me more, called me names - finally I hung up. Checked my bank account, sure enough there was double charge for $1000.00 each. Called them back to get my refund, again after multiple hang-ups, long waits, all need-to-speak-to-another-manager-request-going-to-the-same-person and nastier wheeling and dealing along with my thinking of the hassle of going through credit card dispute, I agreed for the same package for $1837.00. Got off the phone and did some research about the third party lens (Sigma micro) – it is selling for just $299.00 at reputable stores! There is much more to write about the excruciatingly ugly experience for sure, ruined my whole rest of the year. But it is just agonizing to even think or write further…

To make it short, I called them to cancel again the today [11/20/2007] – they said it is already shipped (unable to provide me a tracking number) and I have to return it for a refund (unreasonable restocking fee of $199.00 is involved), and as expected they refused with same malice as before and hung up on me.

So bottom line, I am cancelling my debit card used at this site (I suspect they might charge me for what ever they want or even sell my CC number online), called the bank to file dispute against the charge. Since it is a debit card, hope I’ll get my money back! If they were to ship the package, I plan to refuse to accept it, but if the package doesn’t require our acceptance (signature), I plan to return it by registered mail for record sake. Furthermore, I am planning on joining the NJ state AG suit for fraudulent business practices against this company at http://www.nj.gov/oag/newsreleases06/pr20061130a.html. These people must be stopped as fast as possible!!! Unfortunately, it is a slow process. If any one has any other idea, let me know at “monk2999[at]inmail24”.

Any way, as you see nothing in this world is worth this much aggravation. My plea to you is not to deal with this company ever!

Hope and wish you have a better day, month, and year.

UPDATE:::
UPS tried to deliver the package from Jack Silver , ExpressCameras Edison , NJ twice (different tracking numbers). I took the tracking number and declined to accept the package twice.

What you know, few days later I got my full refund on my account.

Dirtbags! Still going to go through with AG complaint though.

NEVER BUY OR RECCOMEND this store to any one!!!
COMPLETE SCAM ARTIST that just what a fast buck. Having to call in is only part of their scam. The rep (Peter) upgraded me for stuff I didnt need or want. He told me my grand total was $1200 when really it was really $2700. If he would of told me the grand total was $2700 instead of $1200 then I would of not order this product. So then I call to canel and same rep (peter) and he tells me "that I can't canel it all ready on its way". And I say "ok well i'm not signing for it" And he replies with "ok well it will be $250 cashiers check to them." And most of the time he is yelling at me about how I can't and should not canel and how he gave me a great deal (which after all the math) was not that great. And im just wishing I get my money back.

On the afternoon of Thursday, November 15, 2007 I contacted Express Camera’s to find out about prices and information on a camera that they had advertised. On there website http://www.expresscameras.com/ they have the Nikon D2Xs camera body listed at $2599. I know for a fact from doing research this is well below the list price for the camera. When I called the company to find out about the price I asked how can you sell a camera body for under what it cost for the manufacture to make. The reply I got was “That’s none of your business.” I then asked to speak to a manager/ supervisor and I was advised that “there aren’t any here.” I then asked to speak to another associate and he stated “there’s nobody here that wants to talk to a low life like you.” He then went on to state that he had my cell phone number (which I hadn’t given to him) and said he was going to contact the authorities about me. He then told me my complete name, address, phone number and email address which I had not given to him. He then stated that he was looking at my One Model Place account and he like the pictures that I had and he was going to save the page so he could look at it later. This is very concerning to me because somehow this company was able to access my personal information that I had not given them and they were able to look up my personal websites that I had not given them the address for. When I asked for technical specification for the particular camera the sales associate stated that it wasn’t his job to provide me with the answers to technical questions and if I really cared to just call the manufacturer.

What gndixon wrote below. They provide an unbelievably low price and for good reason, they don't make good on it. Saw all the awful reviews but decided to try to see if my order would go through anyway. Guy called me up, tried bait and switch then said okay fine, stick with your original lens. Told me he would put the order through and hung up on me. This morning, I got the email stating they were out of stock etc. Bullsh1t merchants are what they really are.

I have never had a company be so rude to me after exchanging a lens with them, because I was not satisfied with the one they recommended me that sent me another one but would not credit me for the original one I purchased. Now I am out hundreds of dollars, and was told I was a waste of time! Can you believe that! Yes the prices where good or so I though, but now I’m out hundreds. Not really worth it in the long run!

Bait and switch merchant. Ordered lens via web site which says is in stock -- was sent email to verify order. Individual I talked to says reason for call was first was that they didn't have missing code for credit card, then later they don't take Amex. Then tried to sell me a bunch of other lenses, saying they were better (which I know they are not). When told no I wanted what I ordered, was told that I then could not return item because told by agent of better lenses. Then hung up by agent before new credit card info taken. Immediately followed by an email that says "Unfortunately we are currently oversold on the item you have ordered, and it is currently on a backorder for 6-8 weeks. Therefore, your order has been canceled. Please note, your credit card has not been charged."

Avoid like the plague..

I was looking to purchase Nikon SB-800. The price for the flash was cheapest i could find, so i placed my order. I received an email 5 min. later to call and confirm the purchase. After 5 min. being on hold, guy answers the phone, confirms my order, blah blah. Then he proceeds to questioning my decission on why would i want to purchase this particular flash, who recomended it and why and so on. I told him that i had read good reviews and that's what i want. Then he proceeds to tell me about another flash which is $40 cheaper and how good it is and all that sale pitch stuff. I politely declined and told him, i'm not interested in this flash and would like to purchase what i originally intended. He insisted for me to go on his website and take a look at that flash he was pitching for. I said i don't need to see it, because i want to buy Nikon, period. Guess what he said?
"Your order is cancelled, because you are rude!!"
I was rude??? Excuse me??? I couldn't believe my ears!! I was in total shock!! So i said, it's ok, i'll find another place to purchase from, where sales people are more polite, and hang up the phone. I'm yet experience something moronic like this.
It kind of ruined my day.

I am very dissatisfied with their customer service. They quote you a price on their website and the actual price is 2-3 times higher when you ask a customer service representative. Very, very unprofessional and would never recommend it to anyone unless you want to be scammed.
They should not be allowed to exist in the business world and I will complain at the Better Business Bureau.
