I am a CEO of a webdesign/services firm. I recently purchased a computer via InternetIshop and within three weeks my harddrive failed. I tried contacting them and realized... There not in business anymore. I also stumbled across numerous forums like this one. Where people like yourself and I have been ripped off by InternetIshop and Hugebee. I am currently working with a lawyer and am willing to start a class action lawsuit against InternetIshop and its affiliates. If you do not believe this story you are free to call me regarding this at 715-543-2384. I am warning you. This is a true story that I am still trying to settle. I bought 2 notebook computers from Internetishop.com and both were received defective. I returned both within the 30 day time period. I still do not have my full refund after 110 days. The company will not respond to my email. I warned you, do not purchase from this company. It will be your fault if you do.

WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE REVIEWS FOR THIS MONTH !?!  
 
My Original Rating-  
My email to them:  
I purchased 2 desktops & 1 laptop from Internetishop. After purchasing the computers, took a little time to send it over to me, once I received it I was happy & referred others to them.  
 
After 10 monthes, 1 of the desktops had a bad power supply so needed it replaced and my laptop had bad sectors on the hard drive and the latch to keep the lid didn't lock. Called tech support and was told to come by on Saturday and drop it off. So on August 7th, drove by Pomona and dropped off my laptop at Internetishop and was told that the hard drive and latch repair will be completed in a couple of weeks.  
 
Called 2 weeks later for a status on the repair and was informed that the laptop had to be sent to the manuf. for repairs and my desktop was on its way back to me.  
 
I called 1 week after for another status and was told the same thing. Asked for an ETA and the rep was unable to give me one, and told me to call back in a week.  
 
My second desktop's power supply died. Went ahead and spent $40 for a new power supply and replaced it myself so that I didn't have to go through the hassle and waiting 2 weeks for it.  
 
Another week later, I called for a status and ETA on my laptop. The rep said that he didn't know what the status was. Put me on hold for about 15 minutes, told me that the manuf was not answering the phone and told me I should call back tomorrow for the update.  
 
I called back today for the update, and was told that they did not have the status for the repair for my laptop. The only change is that now the monitor needs to be replaced. I asked, what do you mean the monitor is damaged? The monitor was fine when I returned it. What's going on? No answer was given by the rep. I asked for an ETA and was told that they had none. I asked to speak to the manager and was told that he was not available. I left my number for David (manager) to call me and never received a phone call.  
 
6 hours later, I called Internetishop again and asked for David. Was told the same, they don't know the status or the eta of my laptop. I asked to just replace my laptop so that I have one again, and was told that to replace my laptop, I would have to pay $270 for cosmetic wear. I declined. $270 is too much to get screwed over. I asked him, how could this take so long, all that they are doing is replacing parts. In return, he said he didn't know. Maybe a part was out of stock and they had to get it by boat from Taiwan. I told him that I don't care what the situation was between Internetishop and the manufacturer. I was Internetishop's customer, and after a month I still don't have my laptop. I asked what was he going to do about this. He replied that he will try to contact them and get it back as soon as possible. I asked, when would that be? His reply was he doesn't know. The manufacturer might also be backlogged for repairs. After a lot of useless talk, he suggested that I contact Desknote via email to try to get a status and "hopefully" put pressure on them.  
 
Now I'll wait to see if I get any response.

After sending this the above email out on Sep 2nd, I finally received my laptop on Sep 14th.  
 
They said it took long because they were running tests on the machine to verify it works  
 
They shipped it to my billing address instead of the shipping address, so I had to go down to DHL (20 minute drive) to pick it up.  
 
I then spent the next several days trying to install an OS. The computer kept randomly crashing. It was crash either on boot up, or 10 minutes after booting.  
 
Finally downloaded a memory tester freeware program. Sure enough. Both 512 ram were bad. 1 of the 512 chip was VERY bad. Failing all over the place. The other had a bad memory address that ate up about 4 megs.  
 
I removed one of the 512 chips so that I could at least work on the laptop, and now I noticed that the battery kept dying after 5-10 minutes. I recalibrated the battery, completely drained it. Recharged without interruption. Still 5-10 minutes of life then death.  
 
I tried power cycling several times throughout the weekend, no luck.  
 
Tried calling them on Saturday (Sep 18th), no answer. Was on hold for about 45 minutes then I gave up.  
 
Today I tried calling them. "All circuits are busy now" message comes on. Tried going to their website, it's down.  
 
I regret referring people to their website. I regret forgetting the old saying, "You get what you pay for."  
 
The prices are cheap because the quality is cheap.  
 
Out of 3 machines that bought, all 3 had problems on the same month. I'm just glad that I purchased a 3 year warrenty for the laptop... then again I'm not so glad about it. That means I have to deal with this company for the next 2 more years for my laptop... assuming that they are still in business.

Well I wish I read this forum before. I bought my laptop from them and I was very satisfied. One year after I bought it Problems arose so I sent it in. I had 1 yr extended warranty so it was fine. I went it back on 8/4/04 and have been calling then every weed since. I get a different storry everytime. I tried to call them this week and there Phone lines are down and their web site is not up. Can Anyone sugest what to do to get my laptop back. It was suposedly fixed and was waiting to be shipped back to me. HELP!!!

HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!The absolute worst experience of online shopping I've ever had. After a month of "the run-around" on back ordered parts, I decided to cancel. That was 2 weeks ago, and I still haven't received a credit to my account. Now they won't even answer the phones. I called in a dispute to my bank, they are working on it. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AT ALL. Their prices look good, but if you don't receive anything for your money.... Well,you do the math. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!  
 
UPDATE: 10/10/04  
CHECK OUT GEN-X-PC.COM They sure look a lot like internetishop. Hmmmmmmm. They even mention that they are not the same company as internetishop. That's almost like admitting that they are. Check out their products. They offer the exact same products for the exact same prices as internetishop. Someone needs to do something about these rip off artists.

If anyone's interested, there's another company that sells the exact products that Internetishop is doing. Btw, the internetishop site is back up; however, I'm having a major difficult time accessing my account. Go to http://www.my3cents.com/showReview.cgi?id=7154&wrapper= to see other reviews about the company. Also about the two companies, the other company is called Gen-X PC. They haven't responded to my email but you can look for yourself. Go to http://www.gen-x-pc.com/about_us.htm to compare the two companies....That's strange, I can't access the Internetishop site now. Becareful of ordering anything from these companies.

Without a doubt the WORST experience I have ever had dealing with a company. Every last detail of my experience was horrible. Here's how it went:  
 
8/18/04 - Place an order for an Athlon64 laptop with Tony Chen, who it turns out is the sales manager. Tony informed that it would take no more than 5 business days to recieve my laptop (2 to build + 3 day shipping). So I placed the order.  
 
8/20/04 - Called to check on the status of my order. Jeffery pulled up my order and told me it would be shipped out Monday morning because they just got the processors in.  
 
8/23/04 - Talked to Tony in the morning and he told me everything was about ready to go and my laptop would be shipped later that day.  
 
8/24/04 - Talked to Tony again and he said it was waiting pickup from DHL. He confirmed that it was ready to go and I would have it by the end of the week.  
 
8/25/04 - After checking my order status online, I called the company up and asked where my tracking number was. They told me that the processors were on backorder and they should arrive by the end of the week. When I told them Tony said my laptop was already put together and awaiting shipment, they informed me that was not the case and Tony must have confused my order with someone elses. Naturally I was furious. They upgraded my shipping to overnight for free and said they would be shipped on Friday 8/27.  
 
8/27/04 - Called to confirm that laptop would be shipped. Talked to a different person who said the processors were still on backorder and quickly offered to give me a refund, but with a 6% cancellation fee. I asked to talk to the sales manager (Tony) and was told he was in a meeting, so I left a message. I waited 3 hours for no phone call before I called again. This time I was told he wasn't at the office today. Called back 15 minutes later and was told he was at lunch. When I told them they are liars and to put him on the phone they hung up on me.  
 
8/30/04 - Same run around again when I tried to talk to Tony. Everytime I called though, they jumped at the chance to refund the order (with the 6% of course)  
 
8/31/04 - No sucess getting ahold of any kind of manager. When I mentioned I would be calling my credit card company and the BBB they offered me a full refund. I told them to cancell it and post the funds to my credit card.  
 
9/1/04 - Called to make sure the order was cancelled and my money was being refunded. They told me they had already processed the refund, and it should take no more than 3 days to post to my account.  
 
9/9/04 - Called the credit card comany and asked them if any funds were in the process of being transfered. They had no record of anything, so I filed a dispute and got my money back on 9/13/04. I placed an order for the same laptop at mwave.com and had it within 3 days and $300 cheaper.  
 
All I can say is I wish I would have listen to the warnings from other customers on this site. I didn't think all these horror stories were real until it really happened to me. Take the advice -- stay away from this retailer!!

Ok well lets start, first, i bought a laptop from internetishop auction number UN25KC32N with a ram upgrade, total cost was 1971$ USD i called this company repeadedly for a month straight asking why my computer was not shipped. every time i called it was either "This Wedsday" "This Friday" or we're out of stock and waiting on a shipment of processors. So after a month of waiting, i decided to cancel. Now this is where it gets interesting. I canceled about sept 10th. And i still have no recieved my credit to my credit card. They charged before they shipped! so today is a saturday morning the 18th of sept and I am still waiting on my god damn credit so I can buy a laptop for university since I need one and cannot buy one until i get this credit. If you are reading this internetishop. CREDIT ME PLEASE

I had dealt with internetishop in the past and have had relatively good experiences with them. However this time has been a night mare. Well over a month ago I ordered an AMD 64 bit laptop from them. After a month of lies and no call backs and a $200.00 cell phone bill between them and my self and DHL shipping I have no laptop and I had to actually call my credit card company and have them stop payment! I will never use this company again. Feel free to contact me and I can provide proof that I am not making this up! NEVER AGAIN! Thank You,

We bought a Brand New printer & rec'd REMANF'D not labeled on outside of box as re-manufactured one dated Dec 01 with a re-manufactured label on back of printer & also missing 1 cartridge. They argued with us & said it was new. InternetIShop finally said to send everything back (After finishing a time sensitive print job that we bought this printer for in the first place) & they would send out BRAND NEW one with NEW everything. They made US pay to return it when it was their fault (We did this with the understanding they would be sending a complete brand new printer in new box). This is Fraud in my opinion sending re-manufactured in place of new & they should have taken care of it & pd for return ship. He said to take the print heads/cartridges out & package it they way it came (we had set it up before noticing the sticker on the back). We get the SAME box/opened print heads/cartridges & an OLDER printer dated Sep 01. They refuse to take care of this without us being out more money sending stuff back again.  
 
 
 
They refuse to send us a Brand New one & hung up on my husband today after arguing. We only wanted what we bought-NEW & even done what they asked us to do in the first place to send it back & also paid to return it when they should have.

I ordered a desktop at 8:30am EST from this vendor. It promised 3 day shipping, which is why I went with it. I called to check shipping status Fri Sept 10th to verify shipping and was told it was on its way out the door Tues AM. (Mon was labor day) I was told it was all set. Tues I called to verify shipping they said parts were on back order and it would be a while. WHY DID THEY NOT INFORM ME? I tried to cancel, but was told they found it! It would be shipped overnite and arrive on Wed Sept 14th. The 14th (day of arrrival), I recieved an email saying a packing slip had been printed for delivery by DHL. I called DHL and they expalined they never picked it up. I called Internetishop, and they said DHL was lying!!!!! After 3 days of trying to get a status on the machine during which I was told everything from I don't speak english, to I don't know who my boss is, etc, I called and cancelled the order. I was told it would be put back on my bank card (Visa) that day. That was 5 days ago and I still don't have the money in my bank!!!! I am upset with this very unprofessional company. customer service, shipping etc needs to communicate, and quit hiding the people in charge who need to make mistakes right!

I purchased a 3.2ghz 800mhz FSB laptop from Internetishop last year. Within the first month the machine began to lock up and freeze while playing games. I talked with some friends and they said that the laptop was probably over heating.  
When I called Internetishop they said that it was probably because windows was corrupt on the machine, so I did a clean install. The problem persisted. I finally took in the computer and they said there was corrupt memory on it so they replaced it. It took over a week for them to replace the memory, and the customer service was bad with some of the people better with others.  
 
The same day I got the computer back it overheated on me again. I checked online with the actual manufacturer of the computer I bought and realized the reason why it was overheating. The processor that Internetishop put in my laptop is too high for the desknote case.  
 
They have great prices, but you are much better off going with someone else more reputable if you are buying a laptop.

VERY DISHONEST BUSINESS - BEWARE. Purchased AnexTEK SP230 PocketPC phone earlier this year. Had technical problem with internal batter. Mfg. suggested returning to place of purchase for repair. When returned I had the keypad attachment connected to the device. When I recieved the return, the keypad was not on the replacement device. The technical support person said he received the device and the keypad wasn't there - effectively calling me a liar. He said I could order a new one but why in the world would I pay for a new keypad when the stole my original one. So unless UPS broke into the box, took the keypad AND replaced it with the original non-keypad face-plate then someone is not telling the truth. SEE OTHER CUSTOMERS COMMENTS, THERE IS A TREND HERE. THIS COMPANY IS VERY DISHONEST. BEWARE.

I received my laptop with broken keyboard they took 7 weeks to fix it. Then in few weeks again some other problem arised my laptop wouldnt boot this time they took 9 weeks to fix and to my surprise they took away my DVD writer and replaced it with CD writer and when i called tech support the guy was very very rude and hung up on me. Now they do not want to do anything. I feel cheated and they are thieves.

Laptop was defective upon delivery. Keyboard did not function and I was unable to load operating system. The company provided no support I still do not have a working Laptop after almost three weeks. InterIshop refused to ship out another Laptop unless I paid the complete purchase price again for the second Laptop. I had to wait a week for a return shipping label to arrive a week for the shipping and probally another week or so to receive a new laptop. I know from experience that Gateway of Dell would have a new Laptop at my doorsteps within 24hrs if something like this would have happened. Like they say you get what you pay for and InternetIshop prices are great however you do pay a servere price for lack of quality and customer service.
