I purchased a Canon 40D camera kit on eBay for Christmas last year from a site called "Only Sales" for what seemed to be a good price. I received a confirmatory e-mail from them stating that I would get the camera. The web site boasted a 98% approval rating. The site was removed from eBay the following day. I did receive the camera kit (after Christmas), however the lens was broken. I returned the kit for refund and was strung along for several months as they "looked into it". Eventually they admitted I would not get a refund but a replacement camera kit. I came to find out that this site was Taffee Photo. It has been 5 months since then and I continue to get strung along. I've complained to the BBB in New York without result. If anyone has a way to coerce them to make good on their commitment, I'd love to hear it. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ANY OF THESE COMPANIES!!

I placed an order on-line for an item after calling and being told it was in stock. Four days later my credit card was charged the full amount from Hot Buys- After a month of aggravation of calling only to be told it had shipped I cancelled the order via phone, fax and email. I received an email stating my order has been cancelled and a refund to my card would appear in 72 hours. It has been 3 weeks- I have now reported this fraud to Visa. I would never do business with either of these companies unless you have a lot of spare time to follow up and complain.

Great stuff, ordered a camera lens for my DSLR and it came quickly and was cheap, nice place to get digital camera accessories from.

This store SUCKS. I ordered a panasonic digital camera, on october 11th. They immediately debited the money from my account (on the 11th) I've been trying to contact them to get a tracking number. I've called every day, no response. E-mailed every day, no response (at all) I finally spoke to someone yesterday and they said I'd be getting a shipping number yesterday. No such luck. Called today, and the guy said I'd be getting a shipping number today. Today's not over, but no luck so far. He also told me that the entire company was closed from the 13th to the 23rd of october "for the holidays" Not sure what holiday he's talking about, but probably should have mentioned somewhere that if you order while they're on holiday they'll take your money, and then not even ship your item for 2 weeks. I needed a camera for some events (that have since passed) and would have liked to have know that despite 24.50 in shipping costs it was going to take 3 weeks to get the camera. If you like your sanity, or your money DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!!

Ordered Camera lens on Thursday received 3 days later with no hassle highly recomended will definitely buy again  

I wish I have never dealt with them. I have placed an order for a Canon 50mm f/1.4 USM lens based on the claim on their website that they have it in stock. 2 weeks later, not having gotten it I called them and was told it should arrive in 1-2 weeks. 4 weeks later when I called them, I was told they don't have it in stock. Not having received the credit 10 weeks after the purchase (!), I called them again. They said they never spoke with me and said that they have in stock.  
Outrageous!

Got me with the old bait and switch aswell on a canon rebel xsi. NOWHERE on the listing does it say that it is a JAPANESE model. However it does advertise an american warranty. Not sure how that works or if it is even leagal.  
 
I would have canceled the order but leave for a trip soon and did not want to take a chance on not having a new camera.

Wish I would have read these reviews first! I ordered a Canon PowerShot A570IS. I know that it has been discontinued, but I was replacing someone's that I dropped. I got the bait and switch too! It was first $129 which was the cheapest I could find, but got the call and it was $11 more for the US with warranty. I should have said then credit me! I got the camera, it does not have the 16M card with it like advertised, and when I called he said they don't make the 16M cards anymore, so they don't come with the camera. It's the PRINCIPLE I know a 16M card isn't worth much. I WILL NEVER do business with someone who has this lack of integrity. I could have gotten it through Sears cheaper had I known the additional "warranty" cost...which they added on as a shipping charge!

Just received my new Sigma 70-300mm lens from Taaffe photo and am very satisfied. I was nervous after reading previous reviews, but I received my lens brand new and in working order. They did throw in a UV filter which I did not order and charged me 19.98 additional for it, but not worth complaining about. I received my lens in two days and still paid less than I would have at any local retailer plus I received a UV filter. I would shop with them again in future.

I ordered a Kenwood KDC-C669 CD changer for my Kenwood Receiver from Taaffe on 7/14/08. I Received immediate order confirmation by email stating the item would be shipped in 5 days. Not being happy with the 5 day delay for shipping, I emailed customer service asking for a ship date. They replied promptly (within 30 minutes) saying the item would ship on 7/16 and they would supply the tracking data as soon as they received it from the shipper. The item arrived at my door via UPS on 7/21. I am very satisfied with Taaffe's service and especially their customer service representative's prompt and polite comunications and would highly recommend Taaffe for any internet purchases.

Price was as advertised up until I called for same day shipping. I recieved a call back telling me that the GPS's they had in stock were imports and out of stock. They however did have the US version is stock for 10 bucks more. This is called bait and switch and is illegal. Other than that, they shipped right away and I recieved the product right away. Not bad except for the janky price switching.

My shopping experience with Taaffe Photo proved a be quite a simple and enjoyable one. The item was received in a very timely fashion and was exactly as advertised. Would definitely return and anticipate using this company in the future!

After placing an order for a 19" flat screen, I was phoned five days later to inform me that the package was oversized and there would be excess shipping charges. However they could not tell me the size of the package nor could they tell me what size package DHL (the only carrier they use) considers to be oversized. For the record a package must be in excess of 13.75 feet in girth (2xW + 2xH) to be oversize. Be sure to include total shipping costs to calculate any savings you think you may be receiving. Advertising a low price and making money on overbilling shipping is a common practice with many online resellers.

This place is another NY style bull crap. Before I bought this camera I asked them over the phone if the camera was in stock. They said the camera was in stock. I was waiting for the transaction on my online banking. I waited for 2 days and asked them what was going on. The man said that they don't have the camera for the initial price and the camera that I ordered was import version, but they could give me the same camera with US warranty for 50 dollars more. Why do they say that they have it if they don't? I suppose it is some kind of trick that they are mastering very well.

Don't buy from Taaffephoto.  
 
The product they sold me was absolutely garbage. The SX800R is such a worthless of piece of junk. Its expected from Motorola.  
 
To make matters worse, this company doesn't offer returns! I politely asked for a return, only to get a broken record telling me no returns. I won't stand for online retailers treating customers like this. I used to work in such a position, I know when it is appropriate to allow returns or not.  
 
Bottom line, don't buy from Taaffephoto.
