I placed my order online, and chose the "second day" shipping option. Three days AFTER my order was processed I rec'd an email from Fry's stating that "second day" shipping wasn't available to my address. When I requested a refund of the shipping charges they politely informed me that they could not do that. I feel that if a company offers you a service and you pay them in good faith that they should either deliver on their word or they should refund your money. Fry's did neither for me.

First of all, this only applies to the Fountain Valley, California Fry's. Anaheim and City of Industry seem okay.
I ordered memory online for pickup at the Fountain Valley Fry's on the 17th. I get a confirmation saying it's ready to be picked up. I get there on the 19th and the cashier tells me they only have an opened one. He brought it out to me and it wasn't just opened, but half the packaging was missing. This is just plain unacceptable. Why give me a confirmation telling me it's ready to be picked up, have me drive and waste gas and time to go pick up used memory?
I've been here numerous times and usually the extremely poor service is tolerable as I know what I want and get it on my own. This time, the level of stupidity by both staff and management was too much for me to handle. This review was modified by its author, sisq0kidd, on

I've purchased there before.. Most of the time orders go through and everything gets shipped, but they don't always honor orders..
They just cancelled my last order which makes me pretty upset.
Just send me email saying that 'due to overwhelming demand' they cancell it. Just like that.
Makes me upset wasting my time ordering and then nothing..
They're ok to buy from, just don't get your hopes too high.. This review was modified by its author, maciekmn, on

Ordered 2 TVs online. Both were available and in stock. I was given the choice of having them shipped for free or picking up at a local store. I chose the latter. Then, received an email at a later time that the local store did not have one of them in stock, giving me ONLY the option of canceling my order. By now, the online stock was out, and the local store won't honor the previous price when they do restock. They should not offer in store pickup if it is not in stock. Best Buy and Circuit City honor their prices, and give realtime stock updates. My experiences at Frys have been extremely negative in store, and this just reinforces my opinion.

I ordered a Panasonic phone combo as part of their Black Friday deals. I didn't get a confirmation until 5 hrs later. Then around 6 hrs later I get a cancellation stating that they had overwhelming demand and couldn't fulfill the order. How about an ordering system that has real time inventory so we don't waste our time and effort? They offered nothing as an alternative or a wait list for the item. Very poorly handled.

Rebates denied for Lexar memory purchased from Fry's.
All requirements meet. Fry's customer service refused to assist in putting pressure on the manufacturer. This seems to be a scam. I will file a complaint with the FTC and BBB.
Beware when buying from Fry's. You may be scammed out of your rebate. My recommendation is to purchase from another outlet.

Placed an order with Fry's Outpost.com for an item that showed in stock and received an order acknowledgment. Days later I receive a "we're sorry but the item is out of stock message". If it were an isolated incident it would be no big deal, but this has happened to me too many times now with this merchant. In this day and age, there is simply no excuse for taking orders and failing to deliver.

Ordered an item online and scheduled for in store pickup. Item was listed as in stock, but received a call from a fry's employee stating that my order was cancelled (barely intelligible and wasn't polite or well informed). Sadly this isn't my first experience like this. This review was modified by its author, gsutoph, on

I carefully picked out an EVGA GX2 video card at Fry’s. The retail box had a plastic wrapping, was tied up, and had an inventory tag. At the sales counter, with her back to me, the rep removed the inventory tag and also placed a return sticker on the box. As I was leaving a noticed this new sticker and went straight to the customer service counter and returned the card. They also gave me a gift card for a new card where I pay the difference between the returned card and a new one. I again picked out another card. After I bought this new one I opened it up in the store with a CSR present. The retail box was wrapped in plastic and tied like the last one. After I unwrapped, it I noticed the tape holding the box flaps was cut. Opening it further, I found a very crumpled antistatic bag with its tape cut also. They had sold me a used, returned video card as a new one. Obviously, I returned this card also for a refund. During this ordeal, I asked several store employees, including the manager, how this can happen. No one had an answer. All told me if the box is still wrapped in plastic it has never been opened, even though I just proved them wrong. One of the most dishonest and possibly illegal transactions I have ever been a part of.

What a joke!!!! ordered few Toshiba laptop for client. Frys.com cancelled my order without letting us know. Now I have 4 angry buyer calling me every hour while I'm dying finding a replacement.
Frys.com Customer Service is horrible!!!! Don;t bother. If you really want to call them, choose option when you want to place order online. I called couple of time, I have to wait 30mins if i choose the option where I have a existing order. A better way is choose "you want to [plac ean order" <---- this one only took them 30 seconds......btw, their CSR are a bunch of uneducated moron.

Okay...writing this mostly because of their shitty customer service. They can't even remove my email from their email list. They send so much mail that I considering it spam now. I don't know why I spent thousands at their website and store but they are my last choice now.
