I recently purchased a Playstation 3 from Frys. I have heard several people talk about Frys's horrible customer service but I never had the chance to witness it first hand cause there was no problems with the products I purchased from them so far. Guess what? I had that chance with this purchase.
I was really excited when I bought this Playstation 3 and brought it back to my car I noticed something was wrong with the box. THE SEAL WAS BROKEN!!! The seal was so small I didn't notice it at first. I returned to the store immediately to let them know about this and see what they can do about it. I met two representatives who were basically busy talking to each other before they turned to me and still KEPT TALKING TO EACH OTHER while one of them talks to me.
They made up all kind of excuses. They even admitted that they WILLINGLY SOLD ME a open box product at the same price as a new product. UNBELIEVABLE. The employee sounds like he's challenging me to do something about it from the tone of his voice.
I WILL NEVER I REPEAT NEVERRRRRR SHOP AT FRYS AGAIN. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. I DO NOT WANT TO SUPPORT A PLACE WHERE THE EMPLOYEES TALK TO ME IN A PROVOKING MANNER AND REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING AND EVEN ADMITTED THAT THEY WILLINGLY SOLD ME AN OPEN BOX PRODUCT AND THEY KNEW THAT IT IS OPEN BOX AT THE PRICE OF A NEW PRODUCT. AVOID FRYS AT ALL COST!!!!!

On May 13, 2005, not 2009 we have made other purchases the specific order with the issues contained here began on May 13, 2005, we purchased a 52-inch Mitsubishi DLP for $2,599.00 and a service warrantee for $379.95 which is valid until May 2010. We purchased the Mitsubishi DLP because at the time we believed it to be the best viewing technology available, Mitsubishi with Texas Instruments Technology were both well branded names we believed to have integrity, we purchased from Fry’s because we believed this store to have great products with good pricing who would stand behind their sales, we believed we were purchasing a low maintenance TV that would last for many years in the manor of my trusted Sony Trinitron and if anything went wrong the extended warrantee would help assure us that the TV was covered. I was wrong on every point, this has turned into the biggest, most costly lemon debacle I have been a party to. The Mitsubishi DLP has endemic, (related to, a characteristic of) problems with the capacitors in the motherboard failing causing the TV to not operate in that it shuts itself down. It is a built in failure that Mitsubishi had to have known of during their product testing, just look on the web for the pages of reported failures of this technology. Fry’s salesmen do a great job in selling the extended warrantee and current technology other than that Fry’s stands for nothing. The DLP concept is a good one for a long lasting low maintenance TV but as mentioned above this design has a built-in manufacturers defect and is not built to last. The warrantee is the premier joke in this escapade. The purchase of the Mitsubishi DLP, which was the best technology available at the time; along with the warrantee we paid Fry’s $2,978.95 plus tax. Fry’s now wants to replace the Mitsubishi with the cheapest oldest technology they have on the floor with a list price of approximately $750.00. How on earth does that pencil out? The clause, #7, they use to justify this is “may provide replacement equipment with specifications as similar to the original specifications of the Covered Equipment…” this clause also allows them to install rebuilt or remanufactured parts. So what they are telling us is that the $750.00 Plasma is in the same category of specs as the DLP. When we bought the DLP it was setup on the floor receiving a PBS digital signal right next to a Plasma that cost two to three times more and the DLP picture was, in our opinion superior to the Plasma. The DLP outclassed the very expensive plasma five years ago and now Fry’s wants to replace the DLP with the cheapest oldest technology Plasma on their floor. Because of Specs? Bogus! What about performance? We did not go into Fry’s and ask for the cheapest oldest technology when we made this purchase. Prices have fallen, we have more than paid for a quality replacement and it is Fry’s who sold a product that was bound to fail due to a manufactures defective design. We have been to the store 4 times and called numerous times. The service manager is a good man stuck in the middle forced to spout dribble because he is stuck between a corporate office and the consumer. We are in the midst of sorting this out, for now I would say do not buy anything from Fry’s and never, never, ever buy a Fry’s service contract as they are not consumer friendly.

Frys always advertises Virus Protection/Imternet Security Products with substantial rebate offers which often appear to make the product seem to be free or only a few dollars after rebates. I purchased Panda Internet Security for $39.99 and was supposed to receive two rebates which would have covered almost the entire price. After correctly submitting all of required forms and info and waiting the 12 weeks, I never received anything. When I attempted to contact Panda, they do not respond. Frys now says it requires copies of the sent rebates to assist me in any way. This is a scam and Frys is the perpetrator. This is the second time I have had this problem with this type of product rebate from Frys and it is illegal to use deceptive practices to entice buyers. I am reporting it to the state's attorney's office.

EXTENDED WARRANTY THEY SALE IS A FRAUD
when frys ask you how would you like to pay an extra 40 bucks for the extended instore replacement they tell you your item can be replaced of the same or equal .
and no reponse from anyone about their extended warranty money rip off
but when you go back for the replacement if it aint broke, if it has dust or dirt missing anything they can see your item want be replaced as they promised when they take your money and they did me 3 times.
dont buy the extended warranty.
what happened this time my car stereo went bad
so we left my car at the audio shop and we took my wifes car took my radio back to frys and they said since they could not test my unit they could not replace it, they want me to cut the power cord for the radio which cost me 80 bucks to have installed so that they could test my unit, they have other radios in the store and use the power cord from those , but they should not think im gonna spend 160 dollars so they could test their defective unit , we drove all the way from long beach to anaheim they had me and my wife wait 2 hours finnally they gave me a replacement but they made us wait another hour made my wife 1 hr late for work ,at the last minute they told me since we cant test your unit we cant replace 2 hrs. ill never buy another warrranty buy beware This review was modified by its author, wc_wickedclown, on

I made the mistake of ordering from Frys. As a long time customer I'd never had any problems with Frys or its merchandise. After placing an order online I received part of my order. Frys promptly charged my credit card. I contacted Frys after seeing a message on the shipper's website indicating that they (the shipper) had never received the second-half of the order.
At first I requested the merchandise. When it became clear that Frys was not going to replace the merchandise (that they'd never shipped), I requested a refund. over two months later Frys hasn't issued the refund saying that my claim is "under review." Frys didn't ship my merchandise, didn't issue a refund and doesn't respond to my requests for information.

Never again!!. Worst customer service. DONT buy online!!!
I ordered a printer from fys.com and it said 'store pickup only' which to me was great news. It showed me the closest stores which had the printer in stock and I picked San Jose. I paid wt ccard and got an emailed receipt. The next morning I get a called and the employee says there are 2 in stock but 1 is floor model and that she can NOT find the 2nd one. She said Sunnyvale has 2 instock. SO I called Sunnyvale and told them my story. He said he has 2 in stock. I made him check for sure. He finds the box and holds it for me. I DRIVE all the way there and when I'm about to pay, he notices the box he found is a different printer. Of course more $$. HE also could NOT find the actual box I wanted in stock!! even though it shows 2. I told him on the phone to go check for sure and he said he had it! 2 stores mess up in 1 day?? That's enough Fry's for me. Never again.

I ordered two PANASONIC 6GB SDHC cards from them because the price was good. They ended up shipping only one to me. After I immediately reported the missing item to Fry's, they told me to wait 15 BUSINESS DAYS! Even until now, I haven't got anything. The is not the kind of quality I expect from a national brand.

Absolutely horrible customer service... I've ordered from Frys.com before without problems, but this most recent order is the worst online shopping experience I've ever had. First, they lock my order until I call in and verify. Well, okay, did that, they assured me it would be shipped that day. The next day, I called because it had not been shipped, and was told that the order had been locked. The CSR said he'd unlock it, and it would ship that day. Needless to say, it didn't. When I called, another CSR told me that I wouldn't receive it for a week, despite having paid a big chunk of change for two-day shipping (on a Tuesday). Then he told me he'd squeeze it in on that night's shipments, but didn't.
The next CSR told me that they'd reverse the shipping charges and get it out ASAP and I'd have it by Friday.
Then I was contacted by another CSR who basically said "Nope. Sorry, can't help you, wait until next week".
In the meantime, they double-billed me, and I don't have enough money left in my account to even get basic necessities like FOOD. The bank tells me that I have to call Frys.com and get them to remove the authorization, Frys.com tells me I have to wait for the authorization to expire (may take a week), and nobody knows WTF they are talking about.
None of these people know what they are doing, they clearly don't coordinate amongst themselves, and they clearly can't even do the simple job of shipping a preboxed purchase.
------------
Addendum : Received the product. It's mostly what I expected, with the exception that the wireless networking and USB hardware are messed up. After about 30 minutes, the wireless connection drops and Process Explorer shows that Interrupts and Deferred Procedure Calls skyrocket, pegging all four CPUS. I have the latest drivers for all hardware devices and chipsets, so this is most likely a hardware issue.
Because of the horrible ordering experience, I don't dare ask for a RMA in order to have this issue resolved. I will just have to live with borked hardware and consider it a lesson learned :( This review was modified by its author, AngryMugen, on

I purchased two Wasp Point of sale systems. The first one had no software, the second one had fake or used software that could not be registered. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - I CONTACTED THEM 30+ TIMES AND THEY DID NOTHING.
Do not buy from Fry Electronics

First time shopping w/Fry's will be the last. April 15, I ordered a Samsung LCD online. I checked w/the store and was told they did not have it, but a location in Webster, Tx did. Jason, the "supervisor" would order one. It would be in in 3 days. I called in 3 days was told Jason was on vacation, the Webster store did not have any in stock and that it was against store policy to ship discontinued items. The TV was not discontinued from Fry's when I ordered it. The sales associate informs me this TV has been discontinued for months. Even though Fry's still offered it in April of 09.
I was then told by Greg, a "supervisor", that an email had actually been sent to Arlington. That store had the TVs in stock. It would take 11 days. The Arlington facility only sends a truck once a week. Today, April 29 was the 11th day. I called and spoke to Greg again. The TV is not coming and they had no way of knowing that beforehand. Apparently, the Arlington store continued selling the TVs until the minute before the truck left for Houston and now they are sold out. What a coincidence!
In the end, I realize the mantra for Fry's is... it's discontinued. There is no communication between stores. I had called a couple of times to see if the email had been sent, if there was any reply, if the tv was in fact coming. I was told it should be here on Thursday.
So, what I am left with is... the Arlington store has none, the Southwest Houston store has none and won't be getting any. Why? You guessed it.. it's discontinued.
At one point, I can hear a sales associate and Greg arguing over the phone because neither one wants to talk to me. I was never rude, confrontational or even angry. I was just frustrated and tried to explain that I was just trying to figure out how the system broke down.
Basically, they couldn't have cared less, had no option to rectify this situation and couldn't wait to wash their hands of a customer who was spending thousands of dollars. I now understand all the frustration in dealing with a company that doesn't care about customer service. From now on... I"m shopping at BH. Even if the cost is more, I don't trust Fry's at all. I am an avid consumer as are many of my friends, I'm sending out the warning now. Don't fall for it.. like I did. You'll end up with a headache, being treated like a leper and little else

I WAS VERY FRUSTRATED AND DISAPPOINTED HOW MY ORDER WAS SHIPPED. I PAID FOR THE OVERNIGHT SHIP METHOD.
BUT AFTER TRAACKING THE STATUS OF ORDER FROM THEIR SITE, IT WILL BE DELIVERED 2 DAYS AFTER MY ORDERED DATE. WITHOUT INFORMING ME THAT THE DELIVERY WILL BE DELAYED.
WHAT IF I NEVER CHECKED THE FEDEX WEBSITE, WHAT IF WE JUST STAND INFRONT OF THE DOOR WAITING FOR THAT PACKAGE TO ARRIVE, SO THAT'S ANOTHER 24 LONG HOURS OF WAITING.
THE NEXT TIME THAT I'VE ORDERED PRODUCT FROM THE INTERNET I WILL THINK TWICE BEFORE I ORDERED FROM FRYS AND MAYBE IF SOMEBODY ASK MY EXPERIENCE ABOUT ORDERING FROM THE INTERNET, FRYS NAME WILL BE THE MAIN TOPIC, SURELY.

Worst customer service ever!!!!!The tv I purchase from them in Nov. 05 has been in the Shop for 4 months, and this is the 3rd time it's been there. I bought the a warranty for 4 year that cost me $500 dollars, and they can even tell me when is my tv going to be ready, they keep telling me that the part is on backorder and so far they have giving me 3 diferrents due dates for the backorder, I wrote a e-mail to the corporate office and they said they where going to contact me within 48 hours and nothing when i call they get upset and transfer my call to a person that is always in a meeting or having lunch. When finally i talk to someone they said that if i bring my credit card they can loan me a new tv. What kind of service is that?

My experience was almost exactly like the other review just below. I ordered two RAM chips for $60 advertised with a $40 or $50 rebate. Fry's did not ship the RAM until after the rebate period was over, making it impossible to claim the rebate. Also, it was WEEKS AND WEEKS before they shipped. I was out of the country when the package was delivered and it was past the return period when I got back. They refused to issue an RMA. Fry's feels it can ship your product whenever it wants but won't be at all flexible when that causes you problems. This review was modified by its author, thermarest, on

Ordered a set of ram from them. The total price is $50, and with $40 rebate. They sent me the ram after the rebate submission dead line past two weeks.
I had to spent time and money to return the ram. They should not do business like this. This review was modified by its author, dd2008, on
