Received product 7-25-08 the advertisement for this Sabrent DVR card promised MPEG-4 compressed files they are not, they are AVI files taking up 10 times the amount of hard drive. Also a owners manual was to be in the box, it was not. I tried to call PCtekonline for 4 days, message says this voice mail box is full try later. I have sent e-mail to rma@pctekonline for four days with absolutely no response. I am trying to recover my money through mastercard. Will repost with update. In the mean time I highly recommend avoiding this retailer.
Update as of 9-12-08 after 6 weeks PCTeck never responded, I had to go to my credit card company for a refund. My reccommendation is to stay away from PCTekonline.

I ordered a $100 worth of PC parts on 11/7/07, I got an order confirmation immediately and that was the last communication I ever got from them. Two emails have gone unaswered, I phoned the 888 number and no one answered and I could not leave a voice mail because their mail box was full. I have emailed them to cancel the order but who knows if that will happen or not. This maybe a continue saga....possibly more to follow.

I placed an order a month ago. I received an automated message confirming my order, but have not heard anything since then and the product I ordered has not arrived. I emailed PCTek 10 days ago asking for a status update and have still not received a response. I called their toll free number and received a message indicating that their voice mailbox is full, so I couldn't leave a message.
Failure to fulfill my order, provide any explanation of why, reply to my email, or be available for a phone call makes me wonder if this retailer even still exists.
Complete waste of time.

I ordered a part, got a confirmation e-mail immediately, and then nothing for 2 weeks. Recently called to cancel the order: left a voice mail message and e-mail in quck succession, and then got a return e-mail confirming the cancellation in under 10 minutes. They were rather eager to get rid of my order, and I don't think that the part I had ordered was even in stock, but there was absolutely nothing on the website to notify me of this.

I placed an order with my VISA only then I saw the shipping charges after the purchase was completed. I called them right away to cancel the order and was assured it would be canceled and was informed that the item was not in stock. This review was modified by its author, Crosshair, on

Everything actually went very smooth with this company except they don't answer e-mail in a timely order. In trying to return an item it turned into quite a harrowing experience due to the lack of communication.
If this problem was corrected they would be a top notch company to deal with.

The place I usually order from was (permanently) out of stock on a mobo I wanted ... and my backup store has recently tanked in the ratings here. I'd never heard of PCTekOnline before, but one plus was that they're only approx. 300 miles away.
I was pleasantly surprised to get the tracking number the same day I ordered and the package the next day, UPS ground. The mobo retail box was complete and more neatly packaged that the place I usually order from. The shipping box more substantial than most. There was no packing between the two boxes, but this order was essentially local.
The only reason I am not giving a "very satisfied" rating is that I had no reason to contact the company so don't know how they do at problem resolution. I will definitely order from them again.

Very satisfied first-time customer. Not the cheapest, but they have good items, good selection. Even allowed me to pick up in-person.

In a few works, PCTek Online is a decent retailer. I ordered a barebones book pc form them in Oct. of 2001. The initial order went thru smoothly. I received my package within the week. It came from the East Coast so I was happy with the timing. The problem, the mobo was no good. I called them the same day and requested an RMA #. At this time he began to tell me that the problem was not the mobo but it was my processor. I then told him that I have tried 3 different processors with no effect. At that time he referred me to the RMA page on their website. I requested an RMA and received it the next day. I was instructed that they would have to charge my card for the second time so they could ship out my product ASAP and that they would credit the card as soon as they received the returned package, I agreed. Once again the shipping was fast and this time the mobo was good. The only downfall was the time it took them to credit my card. It took them over three weeks and many phone calls from me. After it was all done I would order from them again.

I ordered an Impression MP3 CD player from this company on March 13. Living in NJ, the order arrived Monday on March 16. However, the player had a few problems with it. Batteries didn't work in the player and the player didn't recognize MP3 CDs, I immediately contacted them for an RMA. The customer service directed me to their RMA page. I sent an email and got an RMA number the next day. The following day I sent the player back and wanted a MAX-300 player in exchange for the MAX-280 which was a 4$ difference. They agreed to it without any charge. They assured me that they would send out the RMA on Monday. But I waited till Tuesday and even Wednesday but the player didn't arrive. I contacted them and they said they don't know about it and had me call them back twice. On the third time the Customer service told me it had been shipped. I asked them for a tracking number and they handed it to me, and to my surprise they just shipped it the day I called them. I received the player the following day and it's working fine so far if you ignore some problems with it, like inability to play MP3s with different bit sampling rates, but this is likely a manufacturer defect.
All in all, I am pleased with the transaction but Customer service could definitely use some work.

Ordered Sunday night, shipped Monday morning, arrived midday Tuesday. Best price (including shipping), reasonable shipping charge, and couldn't have been faster. Ordered at 3:58PM EST on the 23rd and at 5:03PM we already had a tracking #. Showed up this afternoon.
The items could have been packed a little more securely but nothing was damaged.
I will definitley add PCTek Online to my list of trusted internet vendors.
