This store is pretty awesome. They have great prices and ship really quick! BUT, the only thing is that they really get you with the shipping cost. I ordered a memory card which was the lowest price, until I realized shipping was $10 which is a rip off. But hey you can't win them all. Great buy and would definitely do business with again!

This is great place to order/buy from. If you have doubts about using an online camera store that's miles from your location, this store is for you.  
 
I ordered a camera, Canon XTi, and an upgrade lens from Mark at 17th Street on Feb 23, 2007. This was my second camera and lens ordered from them. Mark was very helpful and polite in answering my many question, making recommendations when asked, and getting my order processed that same day. I immediately got an invoice verification with all items and prices exactly right.  
 
All items ordered arrived when expected and were well packaged.  
 
There was no call back pressuring me to buy extra items or creating problems with my order.  
 
When I received the order, I decided that I did not want one small accessory. I called Mark, he gave me a return authorization, and there was zero hassle.  
 
I highly recommend this store and will definitely do business with them in the future.

I purchased an Epson PowerLite 1715c projector from them. They had a very good price, called me to make sure I was legit and shipped immediately thereafter. I'd definitely do business with them again.

After looking through a horde of on-line retailers, I opted to give 17th Street Photo a try... perhaps the best 'net decision ever. I purchased a MB-D80 battery grip for my Nikon D80 on Sunday afternoon. On Monday I received confirmation, and it was delivered UPS on Wednesday afternoon. New, unopened, in pristine condition... oh, and the best part, it was at the lowest price I found anywhere. While I haven't spoken to anyone personally with 17th Street yet, I'm calling them today to personally thank them, not to mention place my next order. This is EXACTLY what an on-line retailer should be, and they have my full support from now on...

Excellent service. Placed order on the net on a Sunday, received shipping notice on Monday and My underwater camera case came in exactly as presented, and on time. This is the way retailers are supposed to be.

Best price on the web. Item arrived a day late due to weather conditions (no biggy). It arrived new, in the box, just as described. Would not hesitate to do business with 17th Street Photo again.

This store is the ultimate! I ordered online on Sunday when the store was closed. Tuesday at 10:15a I receive confirmation that the item had shipped. Seventeen minutes earlier, at 9:58a UPS had already delivered the item. The price was the best available online and super service to boot. I do not hesitate to recommend this store.

These guys are unbelievable. I ordered a camera kit, lens, filters, and spare battery on Sunday afternoon (on line while the store was closed) at a good price. It was delivered to my door Tuesday morning! They are fast, efficient, and cost effective. Bravo!!  
 
Do be aware that they ship with delivery confirmation, so someone will need to be at the delivery address to sign for the merchandise.

I can not tell you how pleased I am with 17th Street Photo. I ordered a Canon Rebel XT Digital (without the lens) and the 1GB Accessory Kit. After trying several other online stores and local merchants, I was prepared for all sorts of mis-direction, out right lies, additional bogus add-ons I would need, pressure to buy extra lenses, etc. I was astounded! At no time did my sales person (Doug) try to talk me into any other products that I did not need, other than the extended warranty. Doug was extremely profession and polite throughout the whole transaction. I was told I would receive the items ordered On 12/1/06 in the afternoon, I was given the tracking number to follow my order, and a number to call back for any further inquiries. My order actually arrived on 11/30/06 in the early afternoon in perfect shape. I would highly recommend this store to any person looking to purchase any camera or optical equipment. Outstanding service in all respects.

I placed my order, and never received a confirmation email, so I called, and the gentleman was very helpful, and confirmed the order was good, and would ship out the same day. I received it today packaged incredibly well. Great transaction. Will look to do more with them in the future.

I was all set to buy a new digital SLR (Pentax ist DL) from Butterfly Photo. In reading their customer reviews on this site and other, I was made aware of their poor record. At the same time, I kept reading about the good experiences customers were reporting about 17th St Photo. So... I ordered the Pentax from 17th St. I called twice beforehand asking about questions about tax, shipping, etc. The responses were quick, knowledgeable and friendly. Not only did they process my order quickly, but they made a follow-up confirmation call to me the same day and I received it two days later with "standard shipping." This was my first time buying from 17th St. I will be a return customer!

This store was awesome! at first i was skeptical since it was located in NY (and i've had some trouble ordering from stores in NY before) but then i checked here to find tons of happy consumers.. I made the order on friday and it came on monday! earlier than i thought~ amazing.

After a miserable experience trying to order the Canon 100-400 lens from "Bait-And-Switch" champs ExpressCameras.com, I ended up cancelling my order with them and instead ordered from 17th Street Photo. I talked to Dov, the rep who answered the phone at 17th Street, and he set my mind at ease with his professionalism and knowledge. Their prices are great, and customer service was awesome! I received the lens today as they promised, and was able to track it all the way using UPS, too. This company reaffirms my faith in online stores, and I hope to do more business with them soon. With many "scary" mail order camera stores out there, particularly in NY, this is one of a handful in that city that have the well-deserved positive marks to make us consumers feel good. Whew!
