If you have any qualms whatsoever about making a camera purchase online you have nothing to fear at 17th Street Photo. They are fabulous! I purchased a Nikon F100 from them several years ago and was so thrilled with the service that I returned to them to purchase a D80. Not only were their prices the best but the camera arrived in two days! The price was reduced on the memory card from when I ordered the camera and they credited me the savings a week later. They have the kindest and friendliest staff, too - simply the best!!

17th Street Photo is the best! I've ordered several things from them, and each time it goes something like this: I make my selection. I press the button. I get my stuff. Simple as that! Once, when their ordering site had a glitch and I inadvertently ordered two of the same thing, I received a polite call from them a couple of hours later asking if I really wanted two, or not. I told them no, I only wanted one, and guess what? That's all I received and all I was billed for. Outstanding! I recommend 17th Street Photo without reservation.

I ordered a Pentax K200D with a kit lens that was described as "like new." Unfortunately for me, I ordered just an hour after they stop shipping out orders for the week. My order was shipped on Monday, though, and I received it 2 days later via FedEx. The items were as described, and maybe even "new" instead of "like new," since even the supplied batteries were still sealed. I initially was not sent a tracking number, but received it immediately after I emailed about it. I highly recommend 17th Street Photo.

Great Experience - After reviewing countless reviews from all internet resellers, I was very reluctant to order from anyone. I feared the nagging follow-up phonecalls and pressure to buy overpriced options like extra batteries, camera cases, SDHC cards, etc. My experience with 17th Street couldn't have been better. Ordered online - not a single phonecall or email - Nikon P80 camera arrived in 2 days. Will definately order from them again....

I was overseas when I decided to order my Nikon D300 kit so I wanted to deal with a company that had great feedback, offered the camera at a really competitive price and was small enough to not have an impersonal attitude if anything went wrong with my order or the shipping etc. I needed to cover all the bases here because by the time I would get my hands on my new camera, the returns period would be up. I mean I've read the feedback and the horror stories about that stuff, so I kid you not, I was a little nervous.  
 
I made the right choice! 17photo.com was a dream to deal with. They answered my questions about stock situation, returns policy and transport issues all without hassle and very quickly. And the email was signed by a real person, so my gut feeling that this was going to be a good deal was reinforced.  
 
The goods shipped as soon as my payment was confirmed. The goods were exactly what I ordered, well packed, sent with UPS and arrived in perfect condition as sent and on the date outlined in the UPS Online Tracking System.  
 
Forget the mega stores and the hype about being the "world's biggest camera store covering a whole city block..." Where does all that leave you when you need to contact someone in a hurry? I don't want to wait 40 minutes for some automaton to give me all these reasons why I can't return my damaged goods!  
 
17th Street Photo is where it's at! I won't go anywhere else for online camera shopping.

I had need to puchase a new digital P&S camera and researched my needs and requirements for quite some time before settling on a Leica D-Lux3 digital camera. As much dilligence was then spent on deciding on a reputable supplier and after reading many reviews, I settled on 17th Street Photo. Their prices were comparable with other suppliers of note in the USA, but much more competitive than the Australian market and I wished to avoid other regions suspect for "grey" market suppliers. Their web site made placing an order effortless with my order for the camera and accessories placed on June 11. I was able to follow every step of the delivery process with their excellent tracking system. The order was then due for delivery here in Australia 6 days later, a wonderful effort. An enquiring email was responded to promptly and courteously by Mark. The goods were received half way round the world, well packaged and in good order. You know though, a quick email from the store to ensure all was ok would have been a plus in good customer relations. Should I have need in the future, I definitely would purchase from this store again. Well done 17th Street Photo.

I to ordered the Nikon combo D80 with Nikon 18-200mm VR lens and worked with Mark. Not the best advertised price you’ll see on the net but no B/S either. Placed my order late Friday and had it in my hands Monday. Now I only live in Jersey and the shipment did only come from New York, but they still got it out the night as Mark stated. No pressure to purchase anything else. In fact after refusing a memory card, I reconsidered and Mark found a 4 GB card with a thirty dollar rebate. Would definitely do business with this retailer again!

Good prices, prompt delivery of all items ordered, and all were US Warrantied. Ordered on 5/20 at ~ 6:00am a Nikon combo of D80 with Nikon 18-200mm VR lens, extra Nikon battery, and 2GB SD memory card. I selected standard shipping, which is UPS ground. Order Confirmation Email within minutes of placing order. Noticed later in day on store web site that D80/18-200mm VR combo now showed back ordered. Called early afternoon and spoke with Mark, who was very polite and obliging, he checked on order and availability status and stated that new shipments due in before close of business and also over next 2 days. He said if not shipped today, would be shipped expedited at no additional charge to me. By 9:00pm had Email stating ordered had been shipped, picked up by UPS and was in route. Excellent shipment tracking via UPS web site, frequent and periodic updates through next 2 days. Delivery attempted mid day 5/22/08, however deliery person unable to navigate through side yard gate to get to my Mom In Law to sign. I got home early, contacted UPS, who called back promptly, and arrangements were made so that I could sign and pick up at UPS before 7:00PM.  
 
Overall a great experience. Best retail prices of several other camera stores within Manhattan. Will order again from 17th Street. Shipping cost was a little higher than others, however when combining retail cost of items purchased and shipping cost, overall combined retail/shipping costs were still slightly lower than total cost of same from other Manhattan retailers. Shipping cost was justified in part by excellent tracking service, frequent updates, and overall status provided by UPS.  
 
Research had warned me to stay away from Brooklyn retailers.  
 
Note that even though Web site and my purchase was for a Nikon D80 with 18-200mm VR lens combo/kit, the camera body and lens received were in seperate boxes within the same shipment. Not an issue to me since I got what I wanted with a US warranty and a very good price. Already registered products at Nikon USA without any problems.

Ordered it on Monday afternoon. Received it on Thursday afternoon, coming half way across the country to boot!

Very good online experience. Will buy from again in the future.  
 
Found on nextag. Not the lowest price, however, close to and still beat Newegg, JR Music and Amazon by a minimum of 12% including the shipping charge.  
 
Because of several bad experiences with New York electronics companies, I decided to check them out here on Reseller ratings and with the BBB. Being satisfied I decided to try them out and I’m glad I did.  
 
I placed my Garmin GPS order online at 1:30 pm on a Wednesday and selected 2 day shipping hoping to get it by the following Monday. I was pleasantly surprised when I received my tracking number that same day and my order on Friday in the early afternoon.  
 
It’s refreshing to have any company perform as advertised these days, let alone a discount store. Goes to show a store can be successful selling on volume instead of price. Keep up the good work guys, I’ll definitely be back!  

17th Street Photo offered the lowest price on my product (Tamron 90mm macro lens) with a USA warranty. They shipped the product quickly and did not hassle me to "upgrade" in any way. I'd buy from them again!

All I can say is "WOW". I ordered the Olympus 1030 in green for a very low price after hours on the 28th(with 2 day shipping, hoping it would arrive on the 1st). By the 29th it had left the store at 3pm, and arrived on the 30th, A DAY EARLY, by 12pm. Wonderful service, fast, and trustworthy!! Thank you!!!

First time shopping with 17th but it will not the last. I ordered a Tele Converter and lens adapter for my Canon. It was in stock and they were shipping, not on a holiday for a week like the other guys. There shipping, yes it’s a little more than other places, but they ship fast. Exactly what I paid for. Some websites claim next day, then have it sit in processing for a day or two. Not 17th, I placed an order at 10:00 am on the 23rd and I had it in my hands by noon on the 24th.  
 
I will be using these guys in the future. Highly recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!
