Ordered the Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 XR DI-II VC LD Lens f/Nikon from 17photo.com. Although shipping was prompt, I received the totally wrong item.
On top of receiving the wrong item, 17photo says I have to pay for the shipping to return the wrong item back to them! Save the hassle and buy from a more legitimate seller that will back up their mistakes. That just completely ruined the purchasing experience!

Bought Sunpak PZ40X flash for my daughter's Nikon D60 on her birthday. She opened it and immediately the flash didn't work correctly. I called 17th Street Photo, "We have a 7 day return policy, after that you have to send it to the manufacturer". I called the manufacturer and they told me the warranty card is at least 5 years old (their old address is on the card). So, if you want a product that is not half a decade old and you want good customer care, go elsewhere for your camera needs.

I have called the store to purchase the Canon PowerShot G10 Camera, whereas they've stated that it is available and I could come and pickup the item. When I arrived, they presented me with the camera in its box, however upon closer inspection it appeared to be an open box item. Hence, I requested a different/new one, which they refused, stating that they are not willing to sell me different Canon G10 camera, given the item is new, which it clearly wasn't. Well, I left and walked two blocks to Best Buy, which to my surprise had stepped up their customer service and provided me with a sealed/new Canon PowerShot G10. It's sad to see the unwillingness and the decline in customer service levels at 17th Street Photo.

Their web site specifically call out ONLY USA warranty items for Canon products. I ordered a Canon battery grip for my 40D and they sent me gray market with an international warranty.

They sent me a quote with $300.00 shipping (for 1 camera and 2 lenses). Since they do not take CC payments's for more than $1000.00, they want to charge me an additional @20.00 banking fees (on top of my banking fees for wire transfer).
Ripp off alert!

Very slow to respond. However, they did finally send me a tracking number. Their price was lower than the competition. I am changing my comments here and removing my complaints and I am hoping that the camera will arrive in good condition and without having any problems that require customer support from 17th Street Photo. This store is pretty awesome. They have great prices and ship really quick! BUT, the only thing is that they really get you with the shipping cost. I ordered a memory card which was the lowest price, until I realized shipping was $10 which is a rip off. But hey you can't win them all. Great buy and would definitely do business with again!

Bought a digital camera, olympus 5060wz, with an additional battery for shipment to The Netherlands. Once all paperwork was filled the order was processed right away, and been send for shipment via UPS. Product arrived in good condition within 4 working days in The Nehterlands, the only downside was the description on the package '100% plastic camera', almost causing me to pay 4.5% custums fee (digital camera's are 0%).

After I wrote this review... they have since contacted me and have prorated the extended warrantee and have made an effort to correct the error for me... So I am changing my opinion of them and want everyone to know that they have made an effort to make the situation right for me. Thanks again to them.... the following is the review I did before they made an effort to correct the situation...I purchased a Minolta digital camera after finding this company ont the internet... I then called them to place the order. The person whom I talked to asked if I would like to purchase the extended warrantee... I said yes. I love the camera but it has a major problem. I sent it into Minolta. they inform me that my one yr warrantee is about to expire.. I told them I paid for the extended warrantee. They said to contact the seller. I did.. they claim they sent a card in the box that the warrantee is through a different company. number one.. I was lead to believe the warrantee was through minolta. I did not receive any other warrantee card. they charged me on the invoice. they say it is too late I should have complained sooner. I did not know sooner. I just found out that Minolta did not show I had purchased an extended warrantee. I have the invoice. I am new at this... I have been burned ... I not only dont have the five year extended warrantee I paid for. They will not refund the money they charged for it. If there had of been a card in the box I would have sent it in when I got it. I did not know the card was missing until I sent the camera to Minolta for repairs. The camera is wonderful... it just needs to be fixed... the problem with this retailer is not wonderful. I purchased a Nikon D-90 plus extra lense and accessories from 17th Street Photo Supply in July. Within a week I received everything. There was a problem with the battery included with the camera. I contacted them and the battery was replaced within a week. Their service and assistance has been great and I would purchase from them again.

As a first time buyer I would buy again from this store.
Clean confirmation mail for my order and no nasty phone calls from sales.
The tracking info was accurate, the order was properly packed and the items were factory sealed.
Everything was just as I expected.
Thanks for reading.

I usually buy from B&H, but they didn't have a newly released camera in stock. 17th had a few... Ordered it Monday morning, had it on my desk Tuesday at lunch. With free shipping! (well... it helps that I live in Mass) Called them to check on the order - very nice and helpful on the phone.
Definitely recommended! I will certainly buy from them again.

I normally shop at B&H, but since they were closed for Pesach, I gave 17th Street a try. I was VERY pleasantly surprised. Their prices are quite low, lower than J&R and B&H, and the service was fantastic. I placed a web order for four item at 3:30pm on Wednesday, requesting standard ground shipping. I received a "Shipped" notice about two hours later, and everything was delived at noon on Thursday, nicely packed and brand new. The perfect on-line transaction.

These guys have been so helpful. The shipment for my camera didn't come to them from Panasonic on time. So my order was delayed a couple days...not their fault. But the salesperson knew I was going on vacation and upgraded me to Next Day for free. Prior to that they were very helpful as well. Highly recommended.

I ordered a Garmin 265WT through Amazon.com. Amazon shipped through 17th Street Photo. The unit was labeled 265W. The box was labeled 265WT. I called 17th St. and was assured that as long as the box said 265WT, that is what the unit was. I started to use it and it was clearly missing some of the described functions in the manufacturer's literature (mainly the free traffic reports) plus other things. The unit is the 265W. This is pure fraud - placing one unit in another unit box and selling it for the higher price unit. I have not heard from 17th St. I guess my next move will be the BBB and Garmin to find out what their "authorized dealers" are suthorized to do.
Garmin was the bad guy in this. 17th St. called Garmin and they are shipping the updated unit with the original model number and not including the instructions as to how to obtain the added program. 17th Street Photo got the correct information and shipped a new unit. - No Complaints.
