Millennium Camera sold me a Samsung LNT4065F 40" 1080p LCD HDTV. The on-line charge was $1302.99. In a phone call responding to an email from the company, I agreed to pay $1565.75. The extra money was for a "package" including a stand, remote control, in-home warranty, "white glove" delivery and shipping insurance. The TV came out of the box with a stand, remote control and in-home warranty. I believe I was lied to about having to pay extra for these items. I called Samsung to verify that the TV includes a stand, remote control and in-home warranty. I called Millennium Camera back to question them and was told that they sometimes sell TVs without these items. This was plausible to me because I know that some customers may want multiple TV's to mount on walls in one facility. So I thought there must be a different version of the same TV that is sold to such customers. After researching on-line, I have been unable to find evidence of any TV sold without a stand or remote control. Although I received everything I ordered, I was apparently charged more than the initial sale price for items that normally come with the TV. I never received an invoice or billing statement from Millennium Camera.

Today I learned that the actual charge to my card was $1624.99 - higher than the agreed amount.

The owners are Albert Houllou and Marvin Schwartz.

The two main physical addresses are -

2922 Avenue L, Brooklyn, NY 11210

and 337 East 89th St., Brooklyn NY 11236.

My credit union and VISA helped me out by refunding $322.00. I was, however, re-charged that amount because I did not return the television.

Here's another trick to watch out for; Broadway Photo will pretend to communicate with you via email, but will use an incorrect email address. You won't receive the email, but they will have "proof" they attempted to communicate. Broadway Photo will send a copy of their email to the credit card company to show how they tried to settle your complaint.

Check out the BBB before ordering from these people. If they can't upsell you, they'll place your item on back-order. Even my credit card company have had numerous complaints about them. Don't bother!

I beleive that this company and several others (bwayphoto.com; preferredphoto.com; millenniumcamera.com) are all actually the same guy in NY selling "grey" products and doing the old bait & switch by advertising one thing on the web and then when you are forced to "Call & Verify" your order they tell you it is either not in stock or that the product you ordered in the Japanese model and that it cost more $$$ it you want the US version. Do they really ship cameras to the US where the menu items are only in Japanese? Regardless this is a scam - the products they send are not legit (making warranties useless) and their only goal is to make you spend more money for things you don't need. SHOP ELSEWHERE!!!

I ordered the 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO DG MACRO lens from them since it was priced about $100 less than anywhere else. I was sent the non-APO version, which is a cheaper, lower quality version. Their customer service told me that the lens was the APO version, but they weren't labeled with APO anymore. Clearly they didn't reference SIGMA's website. I ended up having to pay for the "handling and insurance fees" (which were never mentioned until I called to confirm my order) and the return shipping for their error. Everything about this sounds very shady!! I am contacting my credit card company to see is they can assist in getting the extraneous charges removed.

This company claims to have the item in stock but then they contact you to say you have to wait for it, and meanwhile they try to up-sell you. AVOID THIS STORE, otherwise known as Broadway Photo.
Update: avoid this store !!!

Can you believe this? I just got an email from MillenniumCamera.com from whom I ordered a Garmin Nuvi GPS system. They emailed me to say they needed me to confirm that I would accept accept the order. I thought it was an anti-fraud email. Turns out they wanted to confirm I would accept an imported Garmin Nuvi 200W that looks just like the US version but doesn't have a US warranty -- I thought I was ordering the US manufacturer's version. I was like WHAAAATTT!!!! You've got to be kidding me. First, you didn't ship the item I ordered FOUR days ago and now you're asking me if I want an imported (chinese, malaysian, whatever) version? And the guy is like, if you want the US version we'll sell it to you for thirty dollars more. I flat out told him to cancel the order immediately and that I'd never order from them again. Ridiculous!!!!

I should have search for the store rating before I place the order. I search in the internet for the lowest price on the nuvi 660 GPS. This store is among the 3 that have the lowest price at $449 with no shipping charge for UPS ground and no sale tax mentioned. So, I placed my order. The next day, I recieved an email confirmed my order but has no order details. On the same day, I recieved a call from a sale prep. The sale prep just want to confirm my order for the Nuvi 660 GPS at $499. What? Then he drop the price the advertised $449 as soon as I say no. Then he went on with a few aacessories at low cost, but none of them was actually lower than elsewhere. I did accept the 1-year warranty option for $29.99 but it may not be necessary. Finally, the sale prep talked about some shipping fee and insurance(?) which bring up the total price to $525.99 ($449 + $29.99 + $47). At the time, I thought the prep was talking about 2-3 day shipping service which I wanted because I want to have the GPS unit for my trip on Dec,8. I was wrong big time. My order was ship via UPS ground which is free at the time of order and will take 6 days to get to me. Shipping insurance? There was none mentioned at the time of order. Why it need to be insured? I made lots of online purchasing (90% of my total shopping), there isn't a single store that need shipping insurance (even delicate thing like a laptop). It seems like this store don't want to sale the item at advertise price, so they charge some nonsense fee to make it up. Also, be sure to read this store policy before ordering. There is a 7 days return limit on lots of stuffs.

Do not order from this company --- they are a total scam. They show up as the cheapest price for the camera or equipment you want but in the end, you end up frustrated and ripped off.

I should have taken it as a bad sign when I received an email after placing my order. It did not include the price of the camera. Later on, like everyone else who reviewed this place here, I received another email saying "In order to further verify your order , we will need to speak with you on the phone. Please call our processing department at 1-800-850-2209 extension 258 so we may verify and process your order." Customer service was rude and awful. It took me days of leaving messages and calling their 1-800 number before I actually got someone.

Be careful because this is when they raise the price of the product on you in some way or another.

I also have to say that both products I received, in addition to the extra expense, were shoddy. The battery recharger they sell you never charged the batteries once, it is completely faulty (so don't order it!) ... but after dealing with them I'd rather cut my losses rather than deal with again.

Keep away from these people, you're not getting a deal ... you're getting ripped off.

Millenium price showed up in "Nextag" search for a Sony DCR-SR300 camcorder. It was over $100 cheaper at $620 than anyone else. Also noted that Nextag listed Millenium as a "New Vendor".
Their web site seemed professional enough, and I ordered the camera online. Then received an email saying to confirm the order, I needed to call them. This is when the "Bait and Switch" scam took place. The rep told me that this was the "Japanese" version and that the U.S. version would cost considerably more. I was relentless in asking what the difference was between the Japanese version and the U.S. version. He finally stated that the differences were a much shorter battery life and that if the Japanese version camera needed warranty work, it would have to be sent to Japan to have it done. I told the rep this was entirely unnacceptable. He would not give me his name, and became quite rude. Nowhere in the description of this product was the mention of this "version" upgrade business.
I understand that this company also goes by several other names and websites... so ...

I thought I was getting an unbelievable deal for a Canon SD850 at about $275 shipped. The first red flag came up when they e-mailed me with the following message after my order:

*****

Thank you for shopping at millenniumcamera.com!

We have received your order, ********.

So I called them to "verify" my order. I was put on hold for about 15 minutes before a service representative picked up.

The representative verified my billing/shipping address, the product I ordered, etc. Then he told me the camera was the JAPANESE VERSION with a shorter battery life and Japanese menu. So he asked if I wanted to upgrade to the "Executive Package" for $299, aka the US VERSION of the camera with a longer battery life.

NO WHERE on their website did they state that they were selling the Japanese edition of the camera I ordered, but the representative insisted it was stated in the "About Us" part of their website. If it was, it's a pretty bad placement for a disclaimer. Luckily they offered to cancel my order.

In short, BE CAREFUL what you buy from MillenniumCamera.com.

On 9/2/07 I purchased a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi from them at a quoted price of $689.99 (US version) and was told shipping was $19.99 for a total of $709.98.

On 9/4/07 my credit card was charged by them for $729.98 $20 more than quoted total.

On 9/5/07 I spent more than 30 minutes on hold waiting for Customer Service. The customer service rep. was extremely rude. First he told me that the extra charge was for insurance.

I told him that was not the quoted price I was given, and that the Sales Rep "Clark" did not tell me anything about an insurance charge. He then said, "let me check the order". This means he wasn't looking at it the first time? He just made up the "insurance"??? Then he tells me, "oh, they upgraded you to priority shipping". Again I told him that I did not ask for that, and that I was quoted a total price, and then billed for more. He tells me, well I can give you $10 back. I said you overcharged me $20 and first you said it was for insurance you didn't tell me about, and then you said it was an upgrade I didn't ask for. He became very rude and obstinate. I explained to him that in all 50 states to quote one price and then charge a different price to the customers credit card is FRAUD. His only response was a very immature, "no it's not". I then informed them I would be disputing the charge to my credit card and they would be dealing with a chargeback.
