I have purchased most of my PC components from these for years now. And I have never had a problem with them. I have placed 17 orders this year alone, and have had one problem, which was sorted out quickly and to my satisfaction. They have always delivered when they said they would, and send out an email stating despatch day/time with a tracking number (Assuming its Citylink). The only issues I have had is with Citylink claiming they carded you but in fact never even came down the street.

OcUK also provide forums for the community and there are literally thousands of satisfied customers on there. Most of the reviews on here are too old now to be of any relevance due to a change of ownership last year.

Bought a striker II board from them that would not boot…returned to them and they tested, they insisted it was ok. And returned to me …
In good faith I sold it on Ebay and guess what…it would not boot…..I have had to refund the money and now have a bad rating…..I suppose the board will end up in the bin….

Ps…. congratulations to Mark Proudfoot (Overclockers MD) on the £1.5 million order he has just placed for a new boat….

I ordered three items (all were in stock at the time), and specified next day delivery.

I took the next day off work to receive the items only to find out that one item was out of stock, and that the order hadn't been sent out.

I spoke to Overclockers, and was given every excuse under the sun as to why their web-site stated these items were in stock, why they hadn't ben bothered to let me know the order wouldn't be fulfilled, and about how hard they were working, at everything except filling people's orders.

I had my order cancelled, and I've cancelled my account with them.

I sent a complaint in to their web-site, and got a curt reply saying the order had been cancelled. I didn't receive anything in the way of an apology, and no fault on their part was acknowledged.

This would have been my second purchase in 10 days.

If you can give them some notice, they're not too bad at getting things right. If you want your stuff in a hurry, go elsewhere or be disappointed.

Ordered a Netgear SC101T from Overclockers, the PSU failed after a few days. Sent it back and replacement received. Only got refunded the return postage after I asked for it. The replacement SC101T also failed within a few days so was returned and refund requested on the 17th October. Ordered a Synology DS207 instead which is still working fine. It is now the 7th of November and despite saying that I would get a refund I'm still waiting. Next stage will be Court action. I'm not happy with the customer service from Overclockers so suggest you look elsewhere if you want PC parts. i shall not be using them again.

After placing an order online last Sunday evening for a selection of items, all of which were reported to be "in stock", I was consequently being given the option of preferred delivery date for the standard "next-day" service and chose Tuesday. I received the predicted confirmation email for the order. I periodically tracked the status of my order and observed that it remained on "In our warehouse queue" for all of Monday and, concerningly, into Tuesday morning, so I filled in the online form to ask why this was the case.

Five (5) hours later, I finally received a terse, barely literate (no capitals used) reply informing me that one of the items was not in stock. There was no indication as to what was to be done about it or when the stock was expected, let alone when I might expect my urgently needed items, so I filled out another online form, a complaint this time, asking to be told ASAP what the estimates would be, requesting to be given some indication before noon the following day, Wednesday.

It is now the early hours of Thursday morning and it have long past the deadline I suggested for any kind of reply, so I have filled in yet another online form to cancel the order: I cannot conduct business with a company who has such disregard for customers.

I have managed to order products from Overclockers UK successfully in the past, but the spectre of shoddy customer service has permanently stained their reputation for me. It is not that problems occur, but how they are handled which proves a company's worthiness.

The insistence on using online forms to communicate for everything rather than email is an unprofessional approach and makes traceability for enquiries more awkward from the customer end.

There are too many alternative suppliers "out there" for this treatment to be tolerated.

Beware. Be very Beware. They sell and they will sell you USED items labeled as new. It has happened to me three times. They will also sell you refurbished stuff. I bought an Asus P5n32 SLI mobo and the box was not sealed. When I opened it the mobo had scratches on it. Same happened with two lcds that i bought from them. They had dead pixels and looked used with dust on them. And they charged me price of a new item for all these. SO beware of them and look for somewhere else to buy your products.

They Lie about part spec's
They Lie about part availability
They Lie about delivery date's
They Lie about receiving RMA'S

They sex up the parts description to sell off old stock, rather than advise customers on what they really need!

They charge for items twice!

They charge for testing items that are faulty & then argue about replacing!

They take 28 days to replace faulty parts!

Their telephone service is appalling, its slow, inefficient & the staff are disrespectful & rude!

Ordered: Akasa Ultra Quiet 500W Paxpower Active PFC ATX2.2 PSU £46.99 (£55.21 inc VAT) / City Link Parcel Next Day £8.25 (£9.69 inc VAT). Order Total: £53.55 (£64.91 inc VAT)

I made my PSU order 20/03/2007. During the checkout process I received a message informing me that "I had already ordered that item". I did not recall ordering this item twice, but at the time I was thankful that the site had at least caught this and avoided it.

How wrong I was! After checking the status of my order I immediately discovered that I had been billed for 2x PSU's. Naturally, I attempted to contact the company immediately by telephone which proved difficult so I made use of the webnote system in the first instance. When I eventually contacted their support by telephone and explained my predicament, I was told in no uncertain terms that the duplicate order could not be stopped and I'd have arrange an RMA (return) once I'd received it. I could not get them to see how ridiculous this was, so I was left with no option but to wait. Two days later I received 2x email confirmations that my orders had been processed - so nothing could have been done to stop the second order in this time?

After receiving the 2x orders I immediately arranged an RMA 29/03/2007 and posted the second PSU back confirming with Royal Mail's online tracker that the item was received 31/03/2007.

After having to chase for a refund I received £55.00 03/04/3007. What? No postage refund? Not even a refund for the full amount of the original item £55.21.

Since then I have been in dispute with the company over the postage (a total of £20.43 out/back). The support staff even suggested that this wouldn't be a problem on the phone initially, but that has since changed. They are now saying that as my 2x orders hit their system 4 minutes apart I must have made 2x orders intentionally.

I have tried to explain to them that I did not make two orders (their system advised me of the fact I had attempted to make a duplicate order).

I made every attempt to have the second order stopped - I think telephone and email is about all I could have done.

I have now contacted the trading standards authority for West Midlands (Consumer Direct 01782-235000 - try them they're very helpful) and taken their advice.

As many others have noted, the site itself is good and as long as there is no issue with the order then everyting is ok.

BUT - the customer service and telephone support is awful and on that basis alone I would suggest you give this company a wide berth and pay slightly more and use someone like DABS.COM instead.

Trevor.

If you buy and don't need a RMA in the case of a faulty product, good for you.

Otherwise this is what happens. I bought a Radeon X1600 from them for £120 about 8 months ago. It kept overheating and crashing my computer every 16-20 hours. I got a RMA, returned it to them, notifying that it sometimes took as long as 24 hours before the overheating problem started. They never bothered to test it and returned it to me unfixed.

Today I check my statement, and suddenly there's a £25 charge on it from Overclockers!! I'm definitely filing a complaint with my credit card!!!

Avoid this company like the plague!

Absolutely terrible. They sold me a case knowing it was flawed as the manufacturer recalled and reissued the model (Antec 900.) I was told to cut a chunk out of the back with a hacksaw even when there is now a rectified model available without the flaw. Admitted they knew about it at the time but their wonderful customer service person told me to basically get lost.
Thankfully Antec seem to care a bit more but if you have any sense you will avoid those !!!!!!! at overclockers.co.uk like the plague.

Componant failed. Overclockers have agreed item is faulty but still refuse to replace or refund 11 weeks later. Fobbed off with pathetic excuses on telephone and by email. I would be ashamed to offer service so bad.

Good prices, but they really don't want to sell. After putting my order, I receive a e-mail next day: "In order to comply with credit and debit card regulations, we need to verify your identity. To allow us process this and subsequent orders please post or fax (details below) copies of 2 of the following documents.

1 - Bank statement showing address and within last 3 months.
2 - Credit card statement showing address and within last 3 months.
3 - Utlity bill showing address and within last 3 months .
4 - Driving licence."

Well, that's ackward, because the shipping address was the same as the credit card holder (me). Anyway, I'm a patient person, so I understood their need to check up for fraud, especially when ordering for another country. So I faxed them (as requested) an utitily bill and a copy of my driver“s licence; well, it still wasn't good enough. I faxed a copy of another document, but it still "failed to check the security clearance" - is this an online shop or is it the CIA??? Meanwhile MY CREDIT CARD WAS CHARGED, even without my order being processed!!! So they got the money, they got the requested documents and still trey weren't willing to dispacth the order??? I imediatly cancelled the order and demanded for a credit card refund, wich did happened. So I spent time and money attending their requests I 2 weeks later I ended with no video card.

Worse online shopping I did on my life, EVER. overclockers.co.uk? No thanks. Never again.

Ordered Goods and received someone's else's order.
Contacted OCuk on their expensive telephone number and inform them about the problem. They assured me that it was some kind of mix up and that they will come to pick up the goods and send my order strait away. Few days passed nobody came to pick the parcel so I called back again and I needed to explain everything again. They informed me that they located my parcel and will send it same day.
Few days past again and I decided to call them but now it seems that my parcel is not found and that I need to wait until they investigate where the parcel is, but they picked up the parcel that was wrongly delivered. I just couldn't take it any more so I asked for full refund as I didn't received stuff I ordered for more than a week. They refused to give me refund until they locate the parcel that I never received. I just lost my patience and contacted my credit card vendor that will deal with OCuk.
People don't order from them they take your money and they think they are above law.

I am so disappointed and I don't recommend OCuk to anyone.
Shame on you OCuk.
